Jay Deshpande hi Jay! Me too, the 747 is really loved by all the BA crew that are licensed to fly on it, I’m very lucky to say the least! I live near St Athan, South Wales so I sadly see them being scrapped too.
Your content has reached a consistently high standard congratulations Paul. But how the hell do you keep the pounds off with all that airport lounge and aircraft food?
You also once mentioned a trio of refreshments served on a later flight that “saved you from having to eat dinner” when you arrived home... which I’ve never said and pretty damn sure I never will as I like food too much! Also, I’ve no-to-low self restraint. 😔😂
The Red of the Livery goes through the top windows but not on the model and their is spaces at the front windows for First class are spaced 2 space 2 space unlike the model.

I love seeing this plane fly over my house on approach to YYZ I see it at about 7000-15000 feet and it’s one of the largest planes I see fly over including the KLM and Lufthansa 747-400
I have to point out, G-BYGC (BOAC) and G-BNLY (Landor) really are stunning, I am to young to remember the BOAC aircraft, though I did fly on a BOAC VC-10 as a small child and to stupid to appreciate the Landor scheme, but they both look stunning on the 744's.
@@Ahuntsicspotter Well, OP is saying BA will start competing with Delta on that route, which is true. www.britishairways.com/en-us/destinations/portland/flights-to-portland
Your quick shot of the old BOAC livery blew my mind. As an 18-year old Yank exchange student, I flew Boston-Glasgow-Manchester on a BOAC VC10! During the descent into Manchester, I spotted a large stark-looking Victorian style building that to me looked like a Bedlam. A few hours later, I discovered that the place was my new school. The year I spent at that "Bedlam" turned out to be one of the most important and positive ones in my life. One mate I met there was my best man at our wedding in Honolulu, and he even returned to help us celebrate our 40th anniversary! This advice about the air passenger duty has saved me a small fortune. That popular design of reverse herring bone seat. I've always wondered why they don't do it as herring bone. Interesting review. I’d like to see a like for like comparison of US airlines, Middle Eastern, Asian and European airlines business class suites or products on the A350-1000...
Travelling the Club Suite to NYC in February on a 777. Was lucky enough to fly the A350 to Phuket with Finnair in November in their Business Class. The A350 is a beautiful aeroplane. I'm expecting big things from this seat!! Shame however that BA have chosen to stick to their ancient fleet of 747s and 777s on their most profitable and premier route to NYC. I have a sneaky suspicion that the First Class cabins and ancient Club World product 7 abreast is the motivation. Lots of $$$$$$
Hi, Chris. I’m travelling on a 747 in club world to JFK in June next year and coming back to LHR on a 777 also in Club- How can I tell if the return flight is in the club suites?
@@logicalthinking4376 Hi. BA are slowly retrofitting some 777. At the moment it's only BA112 on the inbound from JFK but keep an eye on the seat map for your flight on seatguru.com or via the seating plan on your manage ny booking section. You're looking for the 1 2 1 arrangement. Retrofitted 777-200ER New York-Kennedy (JFK) BA173 London Heathrow (LHR) 11:20 a.m. Departure ⇒ New York (JFK) 2:05 p.m. Arrival BA112 New York (JFK) 6:30 p.m. Departure ⇒ London Heathrow (LHR) 6:30 a.m. (+1) Hope that helps.
I personally think BA stick the 747 on shorter long haul routes for fuel economy reasons. New York makes great sense as the fuel can be easily offset by ticket prices
I can never figure out why business class reviewers rarely, if ever, mention what kind of footwell space there is. It's a huge issue for me, as frequently the space is way too small for comfort for one's feet.
Certainly a step up from the old "new" CW seat, the food also looks better, though I have to say, unless you don't like curries, ALWAYS go for the curry option on BA or VS over anything else, it is something they always do right. I'm not sure if this is one of the Do&Co routes, but their food is always great, so with the small errors I am guessing not ???? The problems with BA have never been related to the crews, it's the management team. I have no status with BA or OW and unfortunately I was put in a position where I had to book them to get 9 of us to the UK, in J and sadly VS didn't have enough seats, so after dropping close to $40k it did stick in the throat somewhat to be asked to pay for seat assignments, until I pointed out that there were 9 of us so it is free per the BA website.
The turbines are underneath the wing in the model. This has been flagged as a Mandela effect because many people noticed that all of a sudden, it appeared that turbines were suddenly far forward in front of the wing on most planes. When did this suddenly happen? The creator of the model may have retained a previous memory of how it was and built it that way. I had not read any comments but noticed this myself, simply because I look out for these things. The Mandela effect is about history not being consistent with our memories and though humans can be fooled, there are some memories that are deeply ingrained though. Not easy to explain when something you are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about appears to change overnight.
Awesome vid. No offence but you could really benefit from keeping your voice audio level the same throughout the video. It happened so much where I could hear you normally and then suddenly you were really quiet. But again, the quality of the video was excellent, thanks I really enjoyed it.
I like the door idea if I actually plan on laying flat and sleeping, not to keen on people walking by and being able to watch me sleep when I’m layed out. lol. Otherwise I’m to nosy to just the door.
Oh! Is that why more and more planes seem to have taken out the individual air nozzles? I mean, I guess I should have guessed but I never think of air ventilation as an expense as such.
It's sad that the Gallerie lounges have better choices of food at breakfast. I went to the Northern lounge in the afternoon and the choice of food was bad. The only positive thing was that I got 3 free Baileys at the lounge and 1 during the flight back to TXL.
Great views of London from Inverness !! Re the 380 model...the nose is different ? Were your nuts warm ?? Pretty solid flight Paul !! They seem to be trying hard at least ! Great video as always mate and I look forward to your next adventure !!
for a 1-2-1 configuration A350 I don't think center storage bins are necessary. If its a 2-2-2 A350 like lufthansa sure they should have center storage bins
Sorry for the z at the end of the comment. Anyway I’m flying economy & sitting at the very back of the aircraft but still looking forward to the flight thanks to your video👍👍

The Mandela effect is about history not being consistent with our memories and though humans can be fooled, there are some memories that are deeply ingrained though. Not easy to explain when something you are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about appears to change overnight.
Loving the Northern Irish accent Paul! Full of surprises mate!
Awesome vid. No offence but you could really benefit from keeping your voice audio level the same throughout the video. It happened so much where I could hear you normally and then suddenly you were really quiet. But again, the quality of the video was excellent, thanks I really enjoyed it.
I prefer virgins upper class with the purple/pink ambient lighting
Superb video as always Paul - looking forward to what 2020 produces on this channel 👍
Happy Christmas 🎄
I missed the flight summary and cost information which I normally find helpful
Thanks for the tip about using level -4,. Paul. I'll bear that in mind next time which I hope won't be in the too distant future.
I think the mistake on the a380 model is that the ba livery at the front stretches above the windows whereas in real life it goes straight over them
I like the door idea if I actually plan on laying flat and sleeping, not to keen on people walking by and being able to watch me sleep when I’m layed out. lol. Otherwise I’m to nosy to just the door.
Oh! Is that why more and more planes seem to have taken out the individual air nozzles? I mean, I guess I should have guessed but I never think of air ventilation as an expense as such.
Holy volume levels, Batman!
The Derry girls bit was hilarious 😂 loved the video
It's sad that the Gallerie lounges have better choices of food at breakfast. I went to the Northern lounge in the afternoon and the choice of food was bad. The only positive thing was that I got 3 free Baileys at the lounge and 1 during the flight back to TXL.
Great views of London from Inverness !! Re the 380 model...the nose is different ? Were your nuts warm ?? Pretty solid flight Paul !! They seem to be trying hard at least ! Great video as always mate and I look forward to your next adventure !!
Thanks for another great, informative video Paul! Happy Christmas!
Iberia is the red-headed stepchild of the One World Alliance.
Awesome video Paul!! I’m looking forward to flying BA someday.
The A350 is recently operating in the LHR to ORD route and has replaced the A380 that used to operate in the route
Some economy seats on this aircraft do not recline...
emma radford every aircraft has some of those
I understand that BAs American partner AA installed a standard version of that seat in their 787-9s and some 777-200s
Interesting to sea the harness seat belt - this gives a 3 point system over the 2 point lap seat belt .
for a 1-2-1 configuration A350 I don't think center storage bins are necessary. If its a 2-2-2 A350 like lufthansa sure they should have center storage bins
Can you lobby British Airways to make good European Business Class
Nice quick takeoff roll! Was the plane more or less empty?
I can tell you've got family in Ulster! That was a pretty good accent - my maternal grans side are from Ballymena so I know the accent well myself :P
You'd be Ulster Scots then as a lot of folk in that area speak with a Scottish accent as I'm sure you know!
Paul Lucas the new Sam Chui. Getting the “special” treatment...
Ross Devine probably not, Paul is brutally honest and doesn’t get sponsored by airlines, which is better
mading : how much did he pay you for that comment ? 🥴😂
Ross Devine lmao nothing
The new Sam Chui but without the kiss-ass comments and without eating like a pig as the original Sam does
Ross Devine Please no, not Sam Chui
Great video Paul. I’m flying to London in February & really looking forward to flying on the A350. Z
Sorry for the z at the end of the comment. Anyway I’m flying economy & sitting at the very back of the aircraft but still looking forward to the flight thanks to your video👍👍
Steve Masters good luck
From wher?
Anime Is LIFE!!! Toronto YYZ
Steve Masters nice
the phrase "pointless cost cutting" should really be the BA tagline - far more honest than anything else they are using.
