- I joined British Airways A350-1000 inaugural flight from London to Madrid on August 5th 2019. First in the video, the BA Chairman and CEO, Alex Cruz gave some insight of why BA selected the A350 and where it will fly to. Join me to explore the new Business Class cabin (Club World Suite), Premium Economy (World Traveller Plus) and Economy (World Traveller) on the flight to Madrid.
I traveled back in Economy the next day on the BA A350-1000 from Madrid. This video will show you from both perspective of what’s flying the new British Airways A350-1000 like.

For his final flight before retirement from Pan Am in July,1987,my father Captain Harvey Beebe Jr flew from JFK airport to barajas international airport in Madrid. His first officer flew the airplane to Madrid because he wanted to make the final flight back to JFK airport in New York. This takes me back to that flight. Captain Beebe got a landing so smooth that the tires didn't even squeal. No one even knew they'd landed. That's how you retire!!!

chicken curry has been served for a while, very. tasty though
I think the usual club Europe meal is less substantial - this meal has probably been exaggerated somewhat as it's the first flight with lots of bloggers etc
@@londonALI The crew are training how to use the ovens and serving long haul meals before they use the aircraft for long haul.

You should review the Virgin A350-1000 and compare their business class product with British Airway's

Dev GOPALAN yes I very much agree my parents work for virgin and I have seen pictures of the rig for the A350
Except Virgin don't have a business class, they have upper class. The 2 carriers are using the plane for different markets.
John Smith Don’t kid yourself. Upper Class is their brand for business class just as Club World on BA. It’s priced and booked as a business class product

Many countries now offers electronic border entries. This means you don’t need a stamp on your passport.
Ive run through 4 in the past decade
And I probably don’t even travel as much as he does

I flew on the negus livery 747-400 from cape town to london in april. Was so excited to fly on one of the retro livery aircraft.

You know BA pulled out all the stops to make this flight look amazing, and the food really did look amazing. I doubt it will be anywhere near as good on a regular flight, but who knows 😄
3:12 - I felt the same emotion when one of the stuarts named Roy from Singapore offered me a teddy bear with the shirt showing "First to fly A350ULR" , some playing cards and a pen with the SQ logo when I took a tour of their a380 while flying to Singapore. But I kept it because it was one thing to let me remember my first time with Singapore Airlines instead of giveaway.

BA put forward a decent crew there, very professional and friendly. The steward serving Sam in Club was outstanding.

Wouldn't we all, it would be interesting to see what Sam makes of the industry trailing seat pitch on British Airways mi-haul a32N's (less pitch than RyanAir) or the 777-200's they use eg to BKK (broken IFE, worn seating, panels literally falling off and all filthy!)
BA marketing is still world class, sadly the actual products, not so much. The image is you will get the shiny new product / brand but reality for over 90% of customers is a faded poor quality version of what they offered 10-28years ago. eg. the over a decade it took them to install the 2nd gen. premium econ seat (still not convinced the entire fleet is done).
Always look forward to your videos. Who knows what behind the scenes is like but short of being in the Rolling Stones,,, to me you have the best job in the world!!! Keep up the good work.

chris hayes considering this aircraft was just purchased it’ll be flying for around 30 years meaning we will still be using our current technology in the future...you’re gonna have to wait a lot longer till you see fully automated aircraft ruling the skies
chris hayes I'll be retired by the time planes might require only 1 pilot. Even 'driverless' trains require a conductor on board. It's best not to jump on planes when we haven't even got super reliable self driving cars yet.

Hopefully replaces the 777 on Hong Kong route! Then it will be A350 and A380 on the same route!

Yeahhh! I’m Spanish so I’ve been to Madrid many times and the T4 and T4S terminals are amazing!! Great video!! Loved it. I’ll be flying with Iberia’s A350 from Madrid to NYC on October, can’t wait! I love Iberia... they’re a great airline, you should try them.

I Would’ve Thought The A350 Would Do Long Flights Like Heathrow To Hong Kong Or LA
They start on shorter routes to get enough landings for the pilots to train them properly. The longer routes will follow soon

Its a crew training flight but it will do long flights like that to Dubai, Toronto, Bengaluru and Tel Aviv
