I have read Starling house and Serpent and the wings of night and agree with your thoughts on both. The Nyaxia novels are some of my favourites that I read last year. In Starling house I was mostly bugged by the pacing and also the mind of the FMC as you also described. I found it hard to beoieve she was supposed to be 26 (I think) because she acted like a teeanager. I undestand that when you have to grow up fast you can get kind of stuck, I have seen it before in books, where a person that has lost their parents early and also had to be the caretaker of younger siblings kind of fight that within themselves and mentally are very immature even though they "manage" adulting. I just don't care for it and had a hard time rooting for her.
Yes, that's exactly how I felt about the main character in Starling House! I appreciated how the author was possibly trying to show how she'd been affected by her past and having to be responsible for her brother from a young age but after a while it started to feel repetitive and I got tired of reading about her.
Somehow I'd never heard of The Ferryman and I am so intrigued by that premise!
This was a fun video concept. I really enjoyed it.
Thank you!!
A great discussion. I have a lot of similar thoughts and feelings as you x
Thank you Michelle 💜
Not heard of Dallergut Dream Department Store before but I'm intrigued! I'll add it to my list!
Yay! It was one of my most surprising 5 stars of the year 💜
