Blown away by the comments, I was at this race.
The start of the video at the hairpin (turn 2) they were nose to nose at turn-in, anyones corner at that point.
Corvette pinched the outer apex, porsche got a little whirly having cut his apex exit short, they rub make contact. That is fine, that is white flag racing. Everyone keeps mentioning this as motive for... retaliation? Big difference "bullying" from the OUTSIDE of a hairpin and what transpired through start-finish line
Magnussen was obviously the faster car at that point, better tires... able to push more. Why he caught up so quick.
Brake checking then PIT maneuvering..... I dont know what to say.
Understand they're professionals in it to win it but.
Damn dirty of the Flying Lizard Porsche.

Same, some comments are insane to read.
Apperantly that mild bump was the worst crime in motorsport history so obviously forcing somebody at high speed into a solid wall is acceptable according to some?
Honestly props to the Corvette for reacting fast enough so he wouldn`t crash into the Porsche proper, somebody mentioned the Porsche telemetry was abnormal compared to his prior laps.
No idea if this is true and from what I can see in this footage watching it multiple times the Corvette BARELY touches the rear splitter I don`t think he even makes contact with the bodywork? It happened in the moment, various cars, various every so slightly different braking points, part of most racing classes. Pushing somebody intentionally to the side with seconds and seconds to think and force him into a wall is a completly different thing.
As far as I am concerned Porsche should be DQèd. That Corvette basically impacted 90° into the wall, you could almost argue he was lucky he still had alot of sideways momentum from the higher speed I guess?

I saw this race live in him going back in a watch this video and others hundreds of times in slow motion and if you actually look at what Berg did with the Porsche the Corvette never bumped him. What Berg did was bright traction intentionally with the Porsche which calls the ass end to swing over into the Corvette Then in the last turn where it looks like the Corvette intentionally strikes the Porsche Bergmeister who was the driver of the Porsche has never said he didn't park it in that turn in other words he intentionally let off the gas. That intentional parking is what caused the Corvette to hit him. Then what does he do when the Corvette clearly can get around him because the Corvette is faster. Bergmeister plays dirty pool and runs the guy into the wall in wrecks him.

Two cars were racing hard and physically for longer than the video shows, it came to the line the corvette was on the wall pushed against the Porsche instead of losing position to protect the car and ended up going around into the wall. Who’s at fault? I’d say they both are which is essentially the same as saying nobody is. Racing is racing, I don’t believe any professional racer goes on the track with the intention of hurting anybody. At the same time though a real racer isn’t going to hold back to protect themselves or others when the finish line is in sight. Race control was ok with what both cars were doing for laps, it’s obvious both were acting questionably, so if you want to be offended by what happened and mad at anyone be mad at race control.

Rubbing is racing, but that little bunp from the Corvette did not warrant getting pitted at over 100 mph. That's a very dirty move from the sore loser in the Porsche. He knew he couldnt hold him off and took the low road. Was probably angry as well because the Porsches were just getting used to being stomped on by the Vettes.

Too much to count ya know. .. in the 80s Imsa had to adopt the group C rules to create a prototype class to kill off the dominating 935 k3... They wanted to stop the "German show" on American soil.
