Thanks so much, Tim! I lucked out big-time yesterday! In February we were checking this unit out while shopping at Costco @ 169.99. We decided to hold of at that time, as we had a large purchase already in mind for that visit. Well, we were in the warehouse for something else yesterday and we found this unit as a CLEARENCE item. It seems someone returned it for some reason or another. (The AC adapter wasn't in 'straight from manufacturer' condition.) We got it for a steal at 99.97!! I was very curious about the AH rating. Because of your tear-down, I now know. It's 9AH. :) Thanks again!
Today I got mine and is an updated version. 1750A Lithium battery 25% Ligther and 40% Smaller for $129.99 USD. They remove the wireless charger and is fine for me.
I have this one, the older lead-acid version with the charging pad. The AC output failed to run my waterpik toothbrush machine which was only a few watts. When I used my cheap little inverter built into a lighter plug, it was able to power the waterpik without a problem. I've found using the AC output into the AC/DC adapter for my 12V car cooler (compressor type) it was able to run the cooler for about 3 hours, nice!
The charging port is not an AC port, it is actually 14.5V DC. So I am going to rig it up to charge via a 12V car adaptor, that way I can leave it in the truck and just remember to plug it in every week or so when driving somewhere. Great video, thanks Tim.
Yeah I picked up a couple of small solar panels from harbor frieight a while back and have been looking for a couple of cool projects to use them on. I think you gave me some ideas
Hi Randy did you make a charge cable for truck? I wanted to get an adapter for my solar panel to charge, I think the plug is a dc 8 male plug. I guess you just get a cigarette plug to dc8?? Thanks
@randywalinga4423 @toolmantimsworkshop I need to buy a replacement charger for this unit. Any recommendations on what I should be looking for when buying one?
Great video!! I wanted to know the battery capacity and battery type! 9ah seems good to me. Quite a bit of capacity for a little non-lithium battery. Also satisfied to know it is a lead acid battery which explains why it works good in the cold. So glad I bought it on sale in Dec 2022 at Costco Canada. I've made lots of use of it for putting air in tires! I plan to use it for camping too. I found that CT sells a portable food warmer that appears to be max 126w or so. 10 or 15 minutes to warm up pre-cooked food while camping. No need to use fossil fuels for food.
I’d love to know how it works on that portable food warmer I may do some testing with a few different products because there seems to be quite a bit of interest in this cat brand product
Thank you I'm in a Calgary Costco right now and Googling the product showed me your video. I was considering it for the air pump emergency recharge for my ebike because it's small and lightweight. I'm now thinking it can live in my car and serve both vehicles
It would certainly be a great Emergency recharge for an E bike. There wouldn’t be enough in there to give it a full charge by any means, but it would certainly work for that. Love to know what your bike you have and I’m also in Alberta about five hours away from you.

Tim, i bought this unit at COSTCO last week. It doesn't have a wireless charging pad like you show in the video. Also, the car charger clips are different, mine has a rectangular device attached to the wires
Tim!!! Thank you so much. Just watched your video. That explained all my questions. You're right, they should have made the battery larger with all that room. Regarding the charging portion. In the directions, there were no directions on how to charge. I called you CAT and they said you needed any 5V to charge. Again, it wasn't mentioned in the directions (or that I could see), and you mentioned it in your video, so that was helpful. I subscribed and will be liking and watching. Thanks again.
Just saw this at Costco at 159.99 and this year's model is lighter than the one you reviewed coz it now has a Lithium Ion battery instead of lead acid.
I'm having the exact same problem. Did you figure out how to shut it down? The off switch above the wireless charging zone doesn't seem to do anything. Any ideas?
Can u use this to charge a battery over night or will it over charge? I also have a car I store in winter. Do you know if I can keep the battery charger on the Cat power station while I charge and maintain a car battery for many months? Thanks

How do ik if its fully charged? Also did you use on any house appliances ik its a jump start but on the box it says it can be used for computer, scanner and whatnot
Hey Tim! Just bought the newer one from Costco and had a question. Did you connect the older version to the positive and negative or to the chassis? Kind regards and thanks for the review
