This is literally how I came back to the Catholic Church. One day I saw a Father Ripperger video about exorcism and watched it. Then I watched a few more videos of him. And then all those other videos he mentioned popped up and they really made me look into the church - not just what I had heard about the church. I’ve learned so much from The Exorcist Files!! Went to confession after 20 years and I haven’t looked back.

@@PInk77W1. A rogue bishop? How do you figure? He was never disciplined. A full-on CARDINAL questioned her. The church at the time was politicized, no doubt. But it took 18 years to exonerate her…and another 470 years to canonize her. And most of that foot dragging had to do with politically appeasing France or Great Britain or both. There was nothing spiritual involved.
So, yeah, don’t kid yourself. The church burned her. The church-like every other human institution-is fallible. One of these days you all will realize the truth. There’s no shame in it. We all like sheep have gone astray. Only the Shepherd makes no mistakes.

I’ve been feeling drawn to Catholicism/Orthodoxy for a while now and I’ve been praying for discernment over the last 7 or 8 months as I learn more about Catholicism. I’m slowly dispelling the falsities I’ve believed for nearly 50 years regarding the catholic faith. Having been vocally anti catholic for most of my life it’s been disconcerting to say the least.

Many aren’t aware but the term “Roman Catholic” is a derogatory term cooked up by Protestants. “Roman” is an unnecessary modifier, as it implies it’s one of many “Catholic Churches” and that is not true, as the Church is One. The true title of the church, is simply Catholic.
I say this so we don’t fall into the language games of Protestants and accidentally buy into their premises as a result.

If Enoch was assumed into heaven, and Elijah was assumed into heaven, should it be surprising that Mary, the Mother of God, might be assumed into heaven too? And, of course, the Assumption isn't Biblical, but if you rely only on what the Bible tells us, Peter and Paul never died and the Jewish Temple is still standing.

    • @sandraelder1101

I have so much respect for these converts and or revert. They said yes to the search for Truth. They are such incredible assests to the Church. Too many cradle and childhood Catholics have never really studied their Faith, and or "owned the treasure it is". Thats why they either walked away or ckock in on Sunday Catholics. These guys get it and are a wonderful example for us all. May God continue to bless you, as you bless other Catholics, and or those searching. 🙏🤲😔💕💖

The Bible is not the goal in itself. Some think knowing Jesus Christ is knowing as many possible verses of the Bible. Don't fall into this trap! be aware : many SAINTS have found Jesus with very little “biblical” knowledge. For a Christian it is not the quantity of knowledge that prevails but first aof all HUMILITY and LOVE/CHARITY.

When speaking to my Protestant family I used to avoid certain passages of scripture because I knew their faith was offended by them, e.g. the keys to the kingdom, sorting by works, not by faith alone, born of water and the spirit, and apostolic authority to forgive or retain sins. I shouldn’t only believe the parts of the Bible which are convenient to my opinions; I either receive it as a whole by faith, or agree with parts by opinion and demur from the rest, in which case I’m not accepting anything by faith.
While there are passages that Catholicism has to interpret heavily to support their doctrine, those seem hugely less important than the one’s Protestants ignore to support their dogma.
I hate that I’m not Catholic yet, I’m such a fool to continue what I know is wrong for so long. God help me come home soon.

Truth hurts but God is Truth and Truth is God. What you're doing to them is false compassion. You're not helping them to know the truth. You're blinding their eyes. You're lying to them. If you see them falling into the pit would you not warn them?
Show them St. John 6 especially 47 to 70. That's the Holy Eucharist described by our Lord to the Apostles and disciples.

    • @bubaganush8954
      @bubaganush8954 9 місяців тому +1

@@lucillebonds2196 You just Martin Luthered my comment… you left out key words and completely misinterpreted my meaning.
I am a Protestant who’s just recently begun to see the light, hence the words “used to” in the first sentence. I hadn’t avoided those passages out of false compassion, but out of cowardice because their implication challenged the faith I was brought up in. Maybe I sell myself short though, maybe it was the humility to assume I was missing something and my parents were older and wiser and more educated in Biblical things. Now that I’ve been given the grace to wrestle with these passages, I’ve decided I need to convert, which is made all the more difficult for me because my father left Catholicism in the late 1970’s and is vehemently anti-Catholic. In fact all my family is anti-Catholic. Recently I have brought these passages to my parents and the rest of my family in hopes they would either see what I am finally seeing, or else show me my error. Unfortunately, what they have done so far is interpret their way out of these verses.
For instance, where Jesus gives the apostles authority to forgive and retain sins, their stance is that Jesus was really just giving them confidence to preach His forgiveness with authority. They interpret “born of water” in John 3 to mean amniotic fluid instead of baptism. And of course they interpret the bread of life discourse as a metaphor.
Converting to Catholicism is a difficult thing, especially for Protestant Christians who are close with their Protestant families. I’m not sure it’s helpful to accuse me of abandoning my family to the fire… it took me two years of obsessive research to feel comfortable that Catholicism isn’t a cult the way most Protestants think it is, and I wasn’t about to pull my family down the rabbit hole with me before I was confident I was right. Now that I am confident, it’s going to take patience, understanding, a whole lot of scriptural recall, and a gentle touch to hopefully bring them along.

Useless , now, to begin a civil war .😁 And you dang got it: the passages who seem "heavily" filtered by doctrine in Catholic teachings are crumbles in comparison to the ones Protestants freely "remix" . I am confident you will make a great Catholic reading that you got the point of salvation in faith and work together, which means you read properly and 100℅ Paul and not just the convenient half Protestants prefer to see. Let alone the Gospels where Jesus himself always puts faith and works together and clearly inform us that saying "oh Lord oh Lord" won't be enough.
