portraying herself as a survivor is a little bit disengenious ... did something change when they tore down the school in 2013 because sandy hook elementary is K-4 --- she was a 11 year old 6th grader at presumably newton middle school, 2 miles away - i guess that's a "survivor" these days?
ive been through extremem things and even I dont say im a survivor, and i was ACTUALLY there, honestly I feel its for pitty/attention especially after seeing her demnor
When we say survived, we don’t just mean the physical scars. She’s a survivor because she is still living despite the mental trauma from knowing a shooter was so close to her. And I don’t think it’s unlikely to say that in Newton, it could’ve been her school. You might even be able to relate if you were ever near a place where a deadly event occurred.
Not really there was deadly car crash near my house and I’m not gonna go around saying I survived drunk driving accident when I wasn’t even there. If we go by that logic than everyone in America is sandy hook survivor for being in the same country. I just don’t like this attention grabbers
If she is a survivor then everyone is a survivor no matter where you live.
The library across the street from my house had a mass shooting back in 2017 and I was not there, I was home. I am not a survivor. I was not in the library. She was not inside sandy hook elementary school. No one in her school was hurt or killed. Attention seeking referring to herself as a “survivor”.
deadly events occur everyday in detroit but you don't hear about mass shootings in their schools. maybe you should learn about how to prevent mass shootings instead of supporting the abolishment of the Second Amendment.

That’s like saying I survived two terrorist attacks in New York -- one during the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the other being 9/11, even though I lived in Upstate New York in 1993 and only actually experienced 9/11.

I’m sorry but people try way too hard to play a “victim” these days. It sounds like she wasn’t even on the same campus as Sandy Hook elementary when the shooting happened. How does that make you a “survivor” exactly? There’s people that actually witnessed these things happen and are probably traumatized for life by the sights and sounds. But okay go ahead and take your 15 minutes of fame for this

@@everettamador9870 she doesn’t even go to sandy hook where the shooting happened. She was one of the schools that was ON LOCKDOWN. She wasn’t directly involved in it.
While this is a tragedy, that just straight isn't two shootings. being at one of the middle schools that was on lockdown during the sandy hook shootings doesn't count as surviving it. I'm sure there were at least 100 schools on lockdown in Connecticut that day.
i think it’s so offensive the fact that she says she ‘survived’ the sandy hook shooting. so offensive to the people who actually survived it, watched and heard people die, were in the actual building which was being shot up, the people who were hurt and have to live with the trauma for the rest of their lives. sorry but this girl is stupid
@@ruby994 holy smokes - this is not the trauma olympics. Mass shoutings like this affect so much more than just the people directly involved. I can’t imagine the impact it would have on a child to sit in a multi hour lockdown terrified for your life and confused of what is happening. You are so disrespectful.

Sandy hook where it’s located it’s a small town so school near it are also in danger
I mean for me in 2019 when my school didn’t allow backpack since a school 10 minutes away had a gun in the locker being found that affected our school also and affected me and for a few days I felt unsafe and if most stuff like that happen I would feel i don’t know tbh

Watch the interview again and try to pay attention, she said she was in the intermediate school in lockdown when the shooting massacre happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Um, although this is extremely terrible and I hate that this has been happening. Having that said she didn't survive either shooting she was in the area. In fact this is even worse because this is a young woman is trying to draw attention to herself for being near two shooting. Taking away from the people who actually are grieving. I was on lock down during 9-11 so I guess I'm a 9-11 survivor. Shame on this news station for hearing this and still reporting on it.
Although sad, she wasn't at the sane school, didn't hear the shots or screams. How close was her lockdown position at MSU from the shooting. Trying to get 15 minutes of fame this way makes no sense. Like I said im.sure the school she was lockdown in back then didn't have to go through the same as the ones shooter was at.

The title needs to be changed, I wouldn't say she survived the MSU shooting, it's a large campus with 100s of buildings and 50,000 students, but you can definitely say she is affected
So how come this was exceedingly rare back when you could buy machine guns, explosives, and cannons through the U.S. mail with no background checks or controls but is common now?
After the assault weapons ban was enacted violent crime plummeted. After it expired it has increased.

@@happydee6950 there are many studies that say it worked as well. Regardless- the crime rate fell after Bidens bill was passed. Maybe it was other things in the bill like hiring 100,000 cops. Makes sense that fewer of the type of weapons preferred by mass murderers would reduce crime. I’ll go back to the drug analogy. To lower drug use we make drugs illegal. Why would guns be any different?

Before I moved outta the bad neighborhood I lived in. I survived several shootings, and I could hear the shots. Ready for my close up.
Before people jump to the conclusion that "it's people who hurt people, not guns" or "bad people always find ways to commit crimes so the law is useless", just think about whether you would want a criminal to have a gun or a knife in his hand if you were unlucky enough to meet him... If you're hoping he's holding a gun, or that it doesn't matter, you're probably right. You can also persuade hunters and soldiers that they don't have to have guns if they want to fight. And guns are just as deadly as knives…..
As for "Guns can be bought in the black market, so banning them won't work," you can think about lobbying the government and telling them that all those national security laws won't work because if the black market or spies can steal technology or intelligence, they'll have access to it anyway😆…
It the government hired someone to orchestrated these mass shooting.

This is so dumb. It’s like saying “everyone says they wont win the lottery but eventually they do”. Your statement will be right for a very very small number of people. This woman was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time and it’s pretty rare what happened but… she life was never in imminent danger. She just had a slightly irrational reaction to both events. Although she was very young during the first one so the trauma is slightly more understandable. Probably wasn’t freaking out this time as much but will use it for political gain… gross
