+Protagonist Nah! People just hate 'cause they think it'll make them look cooler to others while in reality it just makes them look like *complete tools*.
it probably takes a lot of money to produce a game like this one so they had to focus their funds on the main parts of the game.. I'm just glad they made a pretty good game.. maybe I'll give it a review when I get a ps4.. till then I'll repeatedly beat the third one on ps3.. who know I might go for getting the platinum trophy on it.. I beat it on hard not knowing the second time around it raises the difficulty.. well, anyway, random comment from me. ~Hades~for I rule U
>Game with amazing graphics but bad gameplay comes out Everyone: Can't we just have great gameplay but bad graphics? Presentation isn't everything. >Game with amazing gameplay but bad graphics comes out Everyone: OMG WORST GAME EVER!!!
+Vladski No one called it the Worst game ever dipshit. It's just the fact that the Betsheda didn't even create the best possible game for ps4/Xbox One. They can't even have solid 30 FPS.
+Cheese Cake it's so much different cause they made it casual friendly. A lot of people are playing fallout for the first time on current gen consoles. Please use common sense.
+kjarpr0 MGSV is a clearly unfinished game with lackluster story, no memorable characters, repetitive side ops and bland open world environments. dont get me wrong, i really enjoyed the game, but i understand peoples disappointment. hell, im one of those people.
@@patti7839 Well what do you want a post apocalyptic soundtrack to sound like? I personally think they nailed the soundtrack with the atmosphere they were going for especially the radio stations. But I mean whatever floats your boat I guess, they can't satisfy everyone.
This was actually a well-explored review. Although IGN can look as if some reviews were bribed, they aren't all that bad. Anyone who is trying to mock it is just part of the bandwagon (sheep, followers, not original) to be honest.
+Jorgen Pakieto So pointing out a companys flaws makes you a sheep? Let's just accept everything without any scrutiny, is that a better way to handle issues like bribing and dishonesty in the media?
That's because of the fallout backstory witch is that the world embraced nuclear power instead of pushing it away after WW2. That does not exactly explain why you would make a pencil out of lead. +Luke S That's an interesting fact, but i doubt you are gonna collect enough lead from trace amounts to build radiation shielding even if you rob a pencil factory.
Just wait till Christmas when all these kids bitching about the animations sheepishly ask their parents to buy them the game. They'll play it for a week, fall in love with it and say they've always been huge Bethesda/Fallout fans. smh.
+Dustin O'Daffer Just wait till Christmas when all the hype is off and peoples brain back to normal. They'll play it for a week, get bored with it and realized that this game is actually FarCry4 with post apocalyptic setting with total lack of Fallout RPG elements "fixed for you"
+SS Liepzig You won't even see the people playing and enjoying Fallout 4 come Christmas. We're all gonna be locked in our rooms playing the game not caring about anything else.
Rythli Drake Wow an intelligent response on youtube. You have good points. The game will get better with time. Bethesda set the bar too high for themselves. Other games get a pass because the expectations are way lower. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
So I've never played a fallout game before. And I had no idea what fallout was. That was until my friend gave me this for my birthday and this game JUST BLEW MY MIND!!! I had to stop playing everything else because of this game with its unique and charming gameplay!! Definitely 10/10 in my book!!
WARNING: for some reason some people have decided to mention a big main story spoiler involving the end of the game in the comments sections of F4 reviews. So if you dont want the ending of the game spoiled as it was for me then I advise not reading the comments too much.
@@digital-artefakt Then don't mention New Vegas. It was made by another company in a different console generation. Fallout 4 is it's own thing just like New Vegas.
I've been playing Xbox and PC games for over 7 years and I can tell you Fallout 4 gave me a feel that no other game can give. Though Skyrim is my #1 games of all time and that gave me a completely new different feel. Fallout 4 really hits you hard and it's one of the best games I have ever played.
Blake Hunter That still doesn't say a lot. Me and lots of other people were playing when we were little kids. I was 6 years old when I started, 29 now. Plenty of people start at a young age. Go play GTA Online, Minecraft or the latest CoD games and you'll see how many young people are playing.
Blake Hunter Fallout 4 is a great game too, but its a copy of skyrim. Just put wasteland and guns and then you have it. I want Fallout 5 to be more innovative.
most of the reviews I've seen have been anywhere between 7-9. the lower ends seem to be fans who go into detail, and higher go into less detail and just fanboy
I'm just trying to see Fallout differently, it's not a pure RPG like NV, but that's ok. It's now a Action, survival, shooter with LIGHT RPG mechanics, and crafting and building, and that's ok.
***** Gameplay is excellent, your right the game is buggy but that doesn't get rid of the fun and joy aspect you have with the game. Animation are alright can be improved. Money grabbing? How? Are they stilling money from you?
If Fallout 4 had not been part of a series, it would be universally regarded as one of the greatest games ever made. The problem is it was a bit of a genre shift: people wanted an RPG and they got an FPS-RPG hybrid. For someone who loves those type of games, like me, FO4 was pure ecstacy.
IgnemFeram01 Yeah i agree i think that it should be like skyrim, but i doubt it. I like the voiced protagonist its because it gave a life to your character. I felt in Skyrim like a robot (btw skyrim its my favourite game) I just want the sentence and after i want somebody to voice it. And more option. I think that Fallout 5 will not have a voiced protagonist.
Beatfull1 in my opinion a voice protagonist sort of ruins the character that the player makes, and enforces the one the devs wanted you to be, in older fallout games having no voiced protagonist works better in the end because you get to decide what he feels not the developer, makes it more like your adventure, having a voiced protagonist sort of ruins the whole roleplaying aspect of the fallout series
It's hardly even post nuclear, I have no wasteland vibes from the world except the ground zero area. The world is 200 years after a nuclear bomb and it seems like a town left alone for a few thousand years. Compared to the other fallouts where the wasteland looked like a wasteland after a nuclear bomb, and people scavenged and built off what they've scavenged not what they find in an area. I love how the megaton door in fallout 3 is a vertibird turbine that opens the door. Overall fallout failed as an RPG for me
+Shiny Sylveon They wanted to fix the dull and painful colors of Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I love the beautiful blues of the sky, and the look of rebuilding in the world. While I love the look of a lot of the set pieces in 3 and NV, this is easier to look at.
+stainchecktv 0.1 you mean you want the world to not look like a post nuclear world? The world isn't supposed to be pretty. A nuclear bomb went off and nothing is really effected in the world
+Raymond Prieto I think it's the other way around: nowadays, people will accept almost anything, as long as the franchise had a good history. Kinda like Fallout. Fallout 4 is a pretty mediocre game, but the previous games were great. People won't face the facts and are too blinded by things they think they see.
+Mees +Mees I get what you're saying and that is true with some franchise like halo cod etc. but fallout 4 is far from mediocre. in the other games (and even skyrim) it always felt like you weren't apart of the world just kinda flowing around but fallout 4 really took the time to make it fell like my actions mattered and I was apart of the wasteland i know it's not perfect but not mediocre
Raymond Prieto What you just said was a bigger key feature in New Vegas. There you get introduced to the world and have to agree with some sort of political ideology.
so true... they complain about things that make no sense to complain about (graphics, framrate, etc) and they have to justify their purchases by looking at reviews and sales instead of playing the damn game..and then they act like dumb 12 year olds over which platform someone plays on...gaming has gone down the shitter...
I don't understand how it's even possible to give a game with graphics this poor, numerous glitches, terrible animations, and mediocre voice acting a 9.5... I'm sure its still a great game overall and I certainly don't rate graphics as the most important factor in a good game. But those issues are beyond minor in this case...I literally had to double check the title of the video when it started because I thought I had accidently click on a Fallout 3 review...this game would look mediocre for a last gen game. Things like graphics, animation quality, minimal bugs, etc are all part of immersion and beauty...which are a major factor in the overall enjoyment of a game. I feel like many of the reviewers are simply huge Fallout 3 fans that purposely avoided any real focus on its flaws. While they will turnaround and find great fault with other games for comparable weaknesses. At the end of the day, Im sure its still a blast to play. But considering the massive amount of resources, experience, and money at Bethesda's finger tips, the technical problems are not just unfortunate mistakes, they are inexcusable failures. Any honest and open reviewer should have called Bethesda out on that bluntly, and talked about how as great as the game may be, think of how much better of an overall experience it would be if it had lush landscapes and dynamic lighting with enemies and NPC's that move naturally and fluidly, and the frame rate was smooth with few glitches pulling you from the immersion. I have yet to hear one reviewer even attempt to criticize blatant problems with the game with anything more than a flippant remark more appropriate to much less significant issues. It's one thing to say that the games strengths largely out weigh the weaknesses, its another thing entirely to basically pretend they dont exist or act like they dont matter when they are clear and repeated from past titles, yet they are a focal point of every other game reviewed. IMO, even if every other aspect of this game is perfect, its should not be possible to honestly give the game anything higher than an 8 out of 10. Because an 8 can still be an excellent game, but a 9.5 is a near perfect game...which this is clearly not.
+Bones12x2 have you play the game my friend, ists almost a paralel dimention is an other reality with diferent rules, this is a game of 10, please boy play it an erase your coment really.
Do terrible physics, stiff animations , and bad textures look good in that dimension...cause that's the only dimension where this game is better than an 8 or maybe 8.5
+Bones12x2 the graphics aren't even bad dude. Anyway graphics mean nothing, its all about the game play. So go take your cancerous 10 year old comments to some other video please. Thank you
+Generally Good PC Games Well actually I love fallout but this game looks horrendous for a game in 2015. Fallout has always run bad and had horrendous graphics on consoles I think it's about time they sort it out now because they've got away with it for far too long. And do I even need to talk about the animations?
There has always been something special about 4. Perhaps it was the nostalgia but i loved it. Remember playing it the first time, I was in my final year of school and lets just say I was extremely tired the day after and barely awake in class... damn i miss school.
Gaming Culture: WAAAAAAAAA WE THOUGHT FALLOUT 4 WOULD BE BETTER BECAUSE WE'RE NOT HAPPY WITH ANYTHING THAT WE'RE GIVEN AND ALL WE WANNA DO IS POINT OUT THE BAD THINGS!!! Seriously... Shut up! After playing this game for about 10 hours now, I can honestly say that I'm having a blast and it's bringing back memories of discovering Fallout 3, which is such a good feeling! Yeah, it has a few bugs but for a game this huge it's hard to iron out every single bug... Calm down plz, try not to cry too much about it. Maybe try to enjoy it a little and stop crying over every glitch that takes you out of sync with the immersive virtual world, bringing you back to your pathetic real worlds.
+OhYeahFilms I'm not sure if you have noticed but most of the negative user reviews haven't complained about the graphics but how it has had most of the RPG elements thrown out the window and it has been turned into an open world shooter game and having played the game for 7 hours now i can fully agree.
therainbowpigs A lot of them have been about graphics... I actually take back a lot of what I said now because I've just realised you can't have negative karma lol oops...
+DreamcastGuy Heck yeah it is! Too many RPGs! Can't... finish... them! *Drowns softly in a pile of game cases as Nintendo walks up with a copy of Xenoblade X to throw on the pile*
+Wesley Tomsky Batman Arkham Knight on PC? no! you get a picture of Batman Arkham Kight on PC! BECAUSE ITS AT 1 FPS! HAHA! GET ABSOLUTLY REKT! HAHA! O, they fixed it! (console fanboy goes to bed sad....)
Because fallout 4 really is a horrid game. Tons of bugs, tons of great things like karma taken out of the game, and the gunplay just doesn't really feel the same.
+Big Boss lol MGS5 has way less stuff to do, the mission are the same copy and pasted objectives, game breaking bugs, sparse story, incomplete story and you still think it's leagues above Fallout? Wow.
+Big Boss You haven't even played the game and you say it's story is nonsense. Rescuing prisoners and extracting trucks progresses story and you go to the same location at least two times in the story for seperate missions and somehow that's not nonsense to you?
Wait, actual lead in pencils? Sorry, but I can't let this one slide. pencil lead is actually a mix of graphite and clay. NOT REAL LEAD!!! graphite and clay won't make good radiation shielding
just like they never used anything with asbestos back in the 50's, yet a lot of schools still stand with it. you are trying to quantify fallout world with our world.
I just brought PS4 and Fallout 4 so everything is so new to me. I never play any Fallout francise that means i have 0% experience, story and gameplay. All new to me. Any tips for beginners?
Yeah, return the game and your PS4 and buy the Xbox One version of the game instead. Fallout 4 has a plethora of mods- including a mountain of brand-new weapons with custom models, textures, sounds, and animations- which are not available on PS4. 99% of user-created content is not available on PS4 due to Sony's restrictions.
I don't trust IGN, so I'm just going to ask you guys: Has the gameplay improved? Is the story alright? Graphics look just fine to me. Am I missing something? Does this game continue the Oblivion-to-Skyrim pattern of cutting gameplay out and not making up for it? What is the capitol of India? Will "green" energy generators be sustainable? Why are Sonic fans so weird? Will inter-galactic transportation ever become available to the common man before the sun eats us? How much bacon should I eat in the morning? 1 to 2 sentences for each question would be ideal.
+Pholadis "Does this game continue the Oblivion-to-Skyrim pattern of cutting gameplay out and not making up for it?" YES! Here is a list of some features removed for no good reason at all from the previous fallout games: Skills Karma Item condition Faction reputation Hardcore mode More than 4 dialogue options Traits Fallout 4 is not really a RPG it is more like an Open world first person shooter with RPG elements.
+therainbowpigs I don't think anyone really gives a shit about skills or karma. Skills have been replaced by the new perk system, and karma should never have been a thing in the first place. The gun condition system being gone is both sad and relieving. It means I'm not going to spend half the game shuffling through interfaces to combine two miniguns so one can do damage. The lack of hardcore mode is a tragedy. Traits are pretty much perks. Honestly, I see karma as a positive, and hardcore as a negative, everything else is neutral. That leaves us back at square one, but now the square is less convoluted. I'd say that's an improvement.
+therainbowpigs I'm just going to assume that Bethesda is leaving the "hardcore survival mode" to the modders, since all systems are getting mod support and F:NV's hardcore wasn't nearly as good as most survival mods.
+swaggy P Can you please give a reason instead of just saying New Vegas is better. It makes me think you are talking from nostalgia of pre-Bethesda Fallout.
Dagdar1 cool faction system, better dialogue, way better atmosphere, the game just felt way more alive and had more depth then fallout 3 and 4, fallout and 3 and 4 are good for fps, not good for a fallout game
+Alistair Robb I don't know, Witcher 3 has really put a HUGE stamp on GOTY. Its going to be close for sure though. Not saying that FO4 won't win any GOTY but I'm just sayin that Witcher 3 will be tough to beat.
Well it depends. There are many game of the year awards by different sources.Witcher 3 has already won Golden Joystick of Best overall game. But I do believe Fallout 4 has a bigger range of fans
I always used my power armor before a mission that I thought sounded like I was going to need it. I never stopped everything in the middle of a hard battle and ran back to get it. Just seemed more immersive and less frustrating my way.
+Drilon Agolli But that would be like reviewing a game for it's DLC...The review is supposed to reflect the game in its released state. If it's not fixed..It's not fixed....You wouldn't order a TV and wait until the distributor sent you a new one to give it a good review.
You gave New Vegas an 8.5, but 9.5 for Fallout 4??? IGN the graphics supporters. New Vegas is an actual role-playing game unlike Fallout 4. It also has WAY more stuff than FO4 thanks to its expansions. Best part is that New Vegas was made by some of the creators of Fallout 2.
+Nightcaster460 see both the games are great but the reason they gave fallout NV a lower score was because of how damn buggy it was on release. Sometimes the bugs added a bit of humor to the game though
I just go the game yesterday(may 18) and I'm already loving it . The story , characters , setting and combat are all really good . This was my first ever fallout game and now I know why these games are amazing .
Once again IGN feels like its severely overrated the game. (After Evolve, Arkham Knight, MGS 5 and Black Ops 3) From what I've played with the game so far, it fells like I'm still playing the Beta version of the game. Twice I've had to reset due to bugs and I'm only 5 hours in. And the story so far feels really bland and generic.
aaronam0115 It totally was, The game is nowhere near 10/10 caliber IGN insists it was. The 2nd Half of the game is clearly unfinished, the missions and side-ops get repetitive very quickly, the open world is rather empty with its only points being the outposts, Mother Base is one of the most boring hub worlds I've ever seen, And the story has pacing problems that doesn't give enough time to flesh out the characters. The game is more 8.5. The gameplay is top notch with some great stealth mechanics and AI, but the aforementioned problems don't make it a 10/10 contender, no matter how many times Hideo Kojima puts his name in the game after EVERY BLOODY MISSION.
TheDuckClock not only did ign give it a perfect score but so did alot of other companies. the game is great. nobody plays it for the story but the gameplay and the little cutscenes they do have are amazing
TheDuckClock Why cant you just take the fact that it was a good game. even angry joe who nit picks every detail of every game game it a high score and so did many other youtubers
Tbf the lag for me was rare when playing in most areas but the moment I went into a heavily dense place full of bad guys it started to crash . Especially when looking for the mission looking for the rail road
Fallout 4 is one of the most intricate games ever, the attention to detail in this game is mind blowing, even the settlers have personality attributes like lazy, rude, hardworking etc
Brace yourselves this is gonna be long: Personally I think the only reason why people rate fallout 3 so highly is because the step from 2 to 3 was so big that it completely revitalised the series, allowing for both 3rd and 1st person playstyles. Obviously fallout 4 couldn't make such a drastic change so people don't like it as much. Despite this fallout 4 improves on almost every aspect of 3, both graphically and narratively with a far superior storyline and side quest selection. Not only this but you can now actually join factions and veer away from what otherwise would be a very linear and scripted path , offering three different endings that all come with their own rewards, difficulties and consequences. Should I also mention that you can continue to play the game no matter what ending you choose, without having to install DLC... and you can explore the commonwealth without having to navigate through pesky metro stations to reach your destination. Oh and lets not forget that this time around companions actually have backstories and quests tied to them, making them more than just super mutant punching bags. I would say however that combat hasn't much improved and enemy variation has yet to evolve, although you could argue that this was partly addressed in the games first 'major' story driven expansion Far Harbor, where the addition of fog crawlers managed to switch things up a bit. Which brings me on to my final point in regards to how abysmal fallout 4's dlc was this time around. Workshop mode is great but not when almost every dlc is centered around it. In that respect fallout 3 beats its next gen successor hands down. So on the whole I believe that if your looking for a generally well rounded and polished experience within a world that oozes character and charm then fallout 4 is the game for you. However, if you want a game that you can easily spend hundreds of hours getting lost in (literally) and are not so much bothered about story and more so content then fallout 3 would be the better choice. A 9.5 is entirely deserved and if your really saying it should be a 7 then your expectations are clearly too high.
shoulda been a 10, if he would've mentioned suvival mode and the fact that that mode literally shows everything the game has to offer and every play style imaginable, then this game could've easily gotten a 10
Having put in about 500 hours on Fallout 4, between PS4, and PC. The greatest experience I had was with a mod to enable achievements even when mods were enabled through Nexus mods, important as I do like using mods and getting achievements. I used the variety of mods that are standard nowadays, the armor mod to allow for backpacks to exist in game, the standardized armor mod, Unofficial patch to fix a lot of weird glitches in game. However, most IMPORTANT of all was the Resurrection Forest Edition through the Official Bethesda Mod Center. It makes the ENTIRE Commonwealth, including DLC, look waaaaay better. Adds trees, grass, makes it look far more beautiful. Definitely worth it (does drop fps occasionally, still worth it). Without the nexus mod to enable achievements though you can't use these mods and still get achievements, so I recommend looking it up. (resurrection is PC only, though there are other mods for PS4/Xbone that might be similar in quality) Onto the next part though, the gameplay. I did enjoy the majority of the time, the atmosphere was often intense and well done. The level designs are occasionally bad, but in general feel handcrafted and well done. The combat is much improved. Legendary items vary in power from Vendor trash to overpowered. Recently got a minigun that deals 25 bleed damage an attack. Thought my gauss rifle was op before that. For those of you who don't know, each bullet deals 25 bleed damage, mediocre right? No, it ignores armor, and everything bleeds. The damage STACKS. 10 rounds = 250 bleed damage, ignores all resists. Lol. Power armor, I didn't like it as much, would have preferred a Fallout 3 version of the armor, but it was okay in general I suppose. It did add a lot to the gameplay in terms of innovation, a system in which the ability to enter and wear power armor, which then had health and shit for each piece (though it decays far too slowly from hits), said armor is repairable. RPG mechanics are somewhat disappointing in compared to Fallout 3, perk system is atrocious. Settlement building is okay, wish it had an actual reason for doing it (like a reward or something). Best playthrough I've had, was siding with the minuteman (the only people you actually can't choose to fight against, they are the player's faction) against everyone else. Taking down the Brotherhood and Institute were pretty good, as were the fights to defend the castle against them. I've done just about every playthrough so far, the majority of my time is spent exploring though, much I haven't seen yet. There are multiple notable factions, The Brotherhood of Steel is the first of which I will explain. They are purists who are out to wipe out the Super Mutants, Ghouls, and Synths, as well as the institute. They believe the institute will cause another cataclysmic event. The next is the Minuteman, they are a group of settlers who band together, like the Minuteman of yore (meaning Revolutionary War level, they fight to defend themselves, their loved ones, and neighbors, they are the only true 'good' faction there is.) The Railroad are against the Institute and Brotherhood, they want to save Synths whom they believe are intelligent and therefore deserve a chance to live freely (they are misguided). The institute, I won't go into this one too much, but they are the 'boogeyman' so to speak. When you first meet 'Father', don't start shooting, hear him out. Lots I could say, honestly just buy it and season pass if you can afford it. If on PC go through G2A or GMG, or get it on sale through Steam (same price as standard price on G2A, lol). PC mods I was hesitant about at first, but the environment mod is a must as it greatly increases the beauty of the game. PS4 wasn't bad by far, just lacks the hardware to run at 60 fps, mod options are lacking. If you have a shitty computer, it's better to get it on PS4. If you have a good computer like me, why do you own a PS4 like me?
Though Witcher 3 wins this year!! Let's c how much we love to play tomorrow this game!! Early reviews suggest bad textures.. bugs.. glitches.. bad animations..
I wouldn't give it a 9.5 honestly. The dialogue system is pretty damn bad, skills completely removed, and framerate issues bring it down to 8.5-9. Still a really great game though, but it's for sure not near perfect.
-You can't be bad -Most quests are uninteresting fetch ones -Overall lack of choices in quests -Immortal characters -voiced protag which makes roleplaying difficult -horrible engine that fails to be stable And it still got a 9.5, I don`t understand.
If you play this game with these perks in mind, it's a fantastic review. But you didn't brush on the morels each faction offered or the tough (sometimes heartbreaking) decisions that's required to play this game. Each faction has major flaws and no complete story ending. It's an emotional ride as well!❤
Right now, I'm level 59 in Fallout 4. I miss a lot of the customizations of weapons in New Vegas. I miss making your own ammo, and other things. In some ways, New Vegas is superior to Fallout 4.
I liked how in F4 you get power armor WAAAAAAY faster than in NV or 3, but I find myself not using it much since how I have to use fusion cores to keep using it, so far I just use regular armor, when in F3 or NV i use power armor all the time, because all it eats up is durability. I KINDA like how they made the power armor look waaaaay better, I find myself not using it much...unfortunately. :(
OK so I've been playing for fallout 4 for around 300 hours and when I tried to launch steam had to sync. When that was finished it brought me to the main menu where I clicked enter, but then It kicked when it suddenly brought me to the desktop sceen. I've tried this 3 times so far, plz help if u can...
7 years of development and the animations still look like the characters are gliding through the world with their stilted movement. honestly, in a 7 year development time, is it too hard to make convincing, realistic looking animations. disappointing.
ISetYourFaceOnFire MGS V narrative was lacking and disjointed. The game was unfinished, lacking any depth to it but you're right at the end of the day it's still your opinion.
Pros: Gameplay(running and shooting) Crafting The city feels alive Apparel Power armor BoS Fah Hahba (For me and a few others) deterioration of gear Cons: Almost everything related to dialogue No traits nor skills Every quest is "go here, shoot everyone, grab that, thanks" Endless settlements Immortal npcs Couldn't craft 10mm smg No create ammunition nor different ammo types Morally grey areas: Bugs(I can't play a Bethesda game without them (or with them)) Danse+Maxson+you was the only time the voiced protagonist felt needed(I thought it was a particular highlight of the game) Overall: 7.8 I mean it's good, could be a masterpiece with a few changes
GUYS I HAVE THE OFFICIAL REVIEW OF FALLOUT 4. Its a really good game and it runs great on my IPhone 4. It is pretty buggy on the 4 so i would suggest a 5 or even a 6 if you want the best experience. It even beats Fallout Shelter in terms of graphical quality, shocking I know.
+Pinna Calada i do hate the new battlefront BUT i never was so impressed graphics wise, it takes the immersion to a whole new level, i cant even distinguish it from the real world sometimes...

UA-cam comment sections make me wonder how the gaming industry is still going strong if every game is complete garbage.

ChingBlingtheKing yeah technical bugs as well as creepy crawly bugs .....
The side quests are great he says. As he shows the infinite Preston Garvey quests
they might be boring but a great way to earn easy xp
Ryan Goorappa there are like 5 non boring quests in the entire game
I was thinking the exact thing
Doesn't prevent the dozens and dozens of other side quests to be really thrilling.
@@fastsnake 😂 Yeah, they're so thrilling

9.5/10 it has a little something for everyone
was looking for this
Dunkey
Nope, you're just nitpicking and biased. I win, bye-bye.
Except people wanting something resembling a Fallout game
It only got 9.5 because of the hype and expectation. If i'm being generous, it's an 8.
People are disappointed by everything these days
Cheese Cake It has 87 on metacritic. MGS V has 95 and some are still disappointed by it.
It's a good stand alone game but it's a horrible Fallout game. It isn't an RPG and has an extremely sparse main story.
Cheese Cake Yeah you're probably right, was mostly talking about MGS V
+Cheese Cake it's so much different cause they made it casual friendly. A lot of people are playing fallout for the first time on current gen consoles. Please use common sense.
+kjarpr0 MGSV is a clearly unfinished game with lackluster story, no memorable characters, repetitive side ops and bland open world environments. dont get me wrong, i really enjoyed the game, but i understand peoples disappointment. hell, im one of those people.
The soundtrack was one of my favorite aspects, truly breathtaking.
Its basically fallout 3's soundtrack
Yeah the soundtrack was atmospheric and added alot to the game.
Yep
@@AceAzrael it felt more medevil and not like apocalyptic
@@patti7839 Well what do you want a post apocalyptic soundtrack to sound like? I personally think they nailed the soundtrack with the atmosphere they were going for especially the radio stations. But I mean whatever floats your boat I guess, they can't satisfy everyone.
This was actually a well-explored review. Although IGN can look as if some reviews were bribed, they aren't all that bad. Anyone who is trying to mock it is just part of the bandwagon (sheep, followers, not original) to be honest.
+Jorgen Pakieto So in a nut shell IGNs reviews are great when you agree with them and not good when you don't?
+Jorgen Pakieto
So pointing out a companys flaws makes you a sheep?
Let's just accept everything without any scrutiny, is that a better way to handle issues like bribing and dishonesty in the media?
+Jorgen Pakieto Well after Greg sony pony miller left things have become normal.
+Jorgen Pakieto Idk what you're on about. The review was as vague and superficial as always.

Not to be "that guy", but pencils don't contain lead. They contain graphite.
In earlier years they used actual lead. Which is why the graphite in your mechanical pencils is often referred to as "Lead".
Not to be that guy but around the 20th century there were traces of lead in pencils and the outer coating was lead coated sometimes
God, everyone not trying to be "that guy" has successfully become "that guy".
Anthony Abreu what's wrong with being 'that guy'?

these comments make me sick.

All of the issues I've had on PC can be fixed with tweaks to the ini files.
Nothing major...

Mgs5 10/10 flaw was sparse story... But fallout4 9.5/10 because of bugs. Something doesnt add up lol.
+TooRealAlv The score isn't an objective measure. It's an approximation of how the reviewer feels about the game.
Bugs are an objectively worse con than a sparse story.

One thing is don't like about Fallout 4 is not having a silent protagonist.
andej i actually like a voiced protagonists
As do I, but I do think it could have been done better.
And here i am... Looking for actual reasons why people don't like this game..
Its not a Post Nuclear Roll playing game anymore, Its more like a Post Nuclear Fps.
Overall fallout failed as an RPG for me
+Shiny Sylveon finally someone who agrees with me that the game doesn't have any wasteland feel like the old fallouts.
A nuclear bomb went off and nothing is really effected in the world
+Kale Clelland it's set 200 years after the bombs fell nature would take over in that time if anything it would be a lot greener.
the gaming community has become so spoiled they'll never be satisfied with anything....
+Raymond Prieto
I think it's the other way around: nowadays, people will accept almost anything, as long as the franchise had a good history.
There you get introduced to the world and have to agree with some sort of political ideology.
so true... they complain about things that make no sense to complain about (graphics, framrate, etc)
and they have to justify their purchases by looking at reviews and sales instead of playing the damn game..and then they act like dumb 12 year olds over which platform someone plays on...gaming has gone down the shitter...
Expired Torpedo Please explain to me why you can't complain over framerate issues, it's mostly poor optimization that could be fixed.

I don't trust IGN, so I'm just going to ask you guys:
Has the gameplay improved?
Is the story alright?

What is the capitol of India?
Will "green" energy generators be sustainable?
Why are Sonic fans so weird?
Will inter-galactic transportation ever become available to the common man before the sun eats us?
How much bacon should I eat in the morning?
1 to 2 sentences for each question would be ideal.
The game is awesome but not goty
+Pholadis "Does this game continue the Oblivion-to-Skyrim pattern of cutting gameplay out and not making up for it?" YES! Here is a list of some features removed for no good reason at all from the previous fallout games:
Skills
Karma
Item condition
Faction reputation
Hardcore mode
More than 4 dialogue options
Traits
Fallout 4 is not really a RPG it is more like an Open world first person shooter with RPG elements.
***** By "hardcore mode" i mean the fallout new vegas hardcore mode where you can starve to death n shit

Croton Fallout 4 a 9.5? 😂 It's a 7.5 at best. 5.5 user score on metacritic haha harsh imo
@@Croton Wrong.
Sassy the Sasquatch I agree. Fallout 3 and New Vegas are so much better.
War, War never changes
People who hate Fallout4 = A Damn SYnth!
Who hate fallout 4 are dum people who hate it just for nostalgia
I always used my power armor before a mission that I thought sounded like I was going to need it. I never stopped everything in the middle of a hard battle and ran back to get it. Just seemed more immersive and less frustrating my way.
I kind of wish they left out the clip at 4:53. Kind of a spoiler for me.
Yea I skipped exactly to the score to not spoil it
+masscashstacks In New Vegas Their is a Mission where you meet Aliens so I think it was expected :D
A 9.5 for game with frame rate issues, last gen graphics and bugs? Uncharted 4 > Fallout 4.
Didn't the Witcher come out the same way. Your right Uncharted over Witcher, MGS and Fallout.
Eric Nick By claiming a game nobody has played to be better than 3 potential goty candidates.
Tehh David Read the first comment that was made before my response.
+Ratchet I didn't know that Linear-Cover-Shooter 4 - More Boom, Less Playing was out yet
+Bucketninja Lol kid just another sheep that spouts the same arguement over and over again , get original or get out.
Fallout 76 brought me here... think about that Bethesda.
And now Falluot 4 is sending me to New Vegas...
I went to the comment section in Oxhorn's video on F4. Place is more toxic than the glowing sea LMAO
7.8 too much water
cons too many bugs
+Jim Hellen LOL I never got that as a con. I mean bugs can easily be fixed with updates, I wouldn't count small bugs as those in the review
Yeah pretty much lol
+Jim Hellen Well yeah.. that's a legitimate con.
Puglous The game may had been fixed now. I have the ultimate edition and there are barely any bugs in that version.
+Nightcaster460 see both the games are great but the reason they gave fallout NV a lower score was because of how damn buggy it was on release. Sometimes the bugs added a bit of humor to the game though
King Snipes Why can't IGN's scores be updated after games get fixed?
***** I have no idea. Probably because they're not really gonna bother updating a games score a few months or years after release
New Vegas probably had a different reviewer. Chill.
Hello!
I wounder if i can use your video for my website that im starting?
I just go the game yesterday(may 18) and I'm already loving it . The story , characters , setting and combat are all really good . This was my first ever fallout game and now I know why these games are amazing .
Once again IGN feels like its severely overrated the game. (After Evolve, Arkham Knight, MGS 5 and Black Ops 3)
From what I've played with the game so far, it fells like I'm still playing the Beta version of the game. Twice I've had to reset due to bugs and I'm only 5 hours in. And the story so far feels really bland and generic.
MGS 5 was not overrated.
aaronam0115
It totally was, The game is nowhere near 10/10 caliber IGN insists it was.
You weren't supposed to play it stealthily all the time, and the game was rushed. Mother Base was fun, at least in my opinion.
Some people hate 4 because it’s not New Vegas
Tbf the lag for me was rare when playing in most areas but the moment I went into a heavily dense place full of bad guys it started to crash . Especially when looking for the mission looking for the rail road
Me watching this with close to 7 thousand hours played and a 2354 count mod folder
Liar
Fallout 4 is one of the most intricate games ever, the attention to detail in this game is mind blowing, even the settlers have personality attributes like lazy, rude, hardworking etc
Brace yourselves this is gonna be long:
Personally I think the only reason why people rate fallout 3 so highly is because the step from 2 to 3 was so big that it completely revitalised the series, allowing for both 3rd and 1st person playstyles.
Kevin Connolly don’t forget about new vegas
shoulda been a 10, if he would've mentioned suvival mode and the fact that that mode literally shows everything the game has to offer and every play style imaginable, then this game could've easily gotten a 10
Having put in about 500 hours on Fallout 4, between PS4, and PC. (resurrection is PC only, though there are other mods for PS4/Xbone that might be similar in quality)
Onto the next part though, the gameplay.
Early reviews suggest bad textures.. bugs.. glitches.. bad animations..
no never.. story was very bad
+Sid Shah It's safe to say that MGSV has already won. MGSV had a good story. It's unfortunate that people just don't understand it.
+The Dutch (Gorehowl) that game gets sickening when you read about the way konami threats their employees.
mlgdoritoslayer
I can seperate my gaming experience from company ongoings. Besides, Kojima wants us to enjoy his creation.
Witcher 3 is a great game it deserves it for the hard good work the developers put in it.
I wouldn't give it a 9.5 honestly.
The dialogue system is pretty damn bad, skills completely removed, and framerate issues bring it down to 8.5-9. Still a really great game though, but it's for sure not near perfect.
+Salamander108 just compare it to NV
+Arch Stanton Because it's different doesn't mean it's bad. I was very worried at first but as I played I had no issue with the how it works now.
+Sketti n Butter
It's not bad by any means, it's fine in its own right, it's just inferior to the previous game's dialogue system.
no game is perfect, getting a 10 just means it's a masterpiece
so yeah it's not near to being perfect but it's damn close to a masterpiece
+TheJrgangster
The framerate for the game drops when there's too much going on, especially indoors.
-You can't be bad
-Most quests are uninteresting fetch ones
-Overall lack of choices in quests
-Immortal characters
-voiced protag which makes roleplaying difficult
-horrible engine that fails to be stable
And it still got a 9.5, I don`t understand.
there is a 9.5 out of 10 chance that your a cod fanboy
+Themlg Cheez How does COD and FO even relate...
no, it's good not great
Because different opinions. All those things never bothered me for instance.
Mods on pc can fix all that
If you play this game with these perks in mind, it's a fantastic review.
Whys no one mentioning the DLC
I liked how in F4 you get power armor WAAAAAAY faster than in NV or 3, but I find myself not using it much since how I have to use fusion cores to keep using it, so far I just use regular armor, when in F3 or NV i use power armor all the time, because all it eats up is durability. I KINDA like how they made the power armor look waaaaay better, I find myself not using it much...unfortunately. :(
is anyone elses ammo just going away. i spent all my caps on ammo and when i started a quest it was all gone and i had never fired one round.
If you are really that bugged by "animations" you need to leave
ISetYourFaceOnFire MGS V narrative was lacking and disjointed. The game was unfinished, lacking any depth to it but you're right at the end of the day it's still your opinion.
+ISetYourFaceOnFire You forget they made Skyrim...
Fallout 4 overhyped trash ahaha
+elite manning_2-0 ???
Yeh, I'm quessing that witcher 3 will be game of the year.
The lip sync and graphics in fallout looks just meh...below average.
So graphics determine a game? sure
+Eric Nick No. Story, gameplay and graphics do. All three
Lolman 96 i was being sarcastic
Jaden Smith No, not all and Witcher was downgraded in it's graphics. Compared the one first showen in e3 to the version you have now.
Eric Nick Well, still amazing graphics in my opinion.
Pros:
Gameplay(running and shooting)
Crafting
The city feels alive
Apparel
Power armor
BoS
Fah Hahba
(For me and a few others) deterioration of gear
Cons:
Almost everything related to dialogue
No traits nor skills
Every quest is "go here, shoot everyone, grab that, thanks"
Endless settlements
Immortal npcs
Couldn't craft 10mm smg
No create ammunition nor different ammo types
Morally grey areas:
Bugs(I can't play a Bethesda game without them (or with them))
Danse+Maxson+you was the only time the voiced protagonist felt needed(I thought it was a particular highlight of the game)
Overall: 7.8 I mean it's good, could be a masterpiece with a few changes
ummmmmmmm there is immortal npcs in vegas you know.
Love the Fallout series ever since the first one. Wondering if this will play on a laptop with i5 quad core 1.8Ghz with boost to 2.7Ghz; 8GB DDR3?
Still one of the best games I’ve played.
Hours played update?
GUYS I HAVE THE OFFICIAL REVIEW OF FALLOUT 4. Its a really good game and it runs great on my IPhone 4. It is pretty buggy on the 4 so i would suggest a 5 or even a 6 if you want the best experience. It even beats Fallout Shelter in terms of graphical quality, shocking I know.
+1legomaster
Best review ever !!
even better then a 0/10 on metacritics
+1legomaster You play games on your phone? I mean ok... but... LOL
+Brian Griffin wow... I am just going to leave*shakes head while exiting scene*
+1legomaster u like star wars battlefront? it runs on my iphone12s-x12.
+Pinna Calada i do hate the new battlefront
BUT i never was so impressed graphics wise, it takes the immersion to a whole new level, i cant even distinguish it from the real world sometimes...
1:40 - “The huge number of side quests” while showing Garvey giving you a millionth identical quest
I look around.
Me. I like Fallout 4
The ground shakes.
Me. STAMPEDE
A swarm of hate comments runs through the area destroying everything in sight.
Me. I like the last Jedi..
The stampede charges back over.
