I intend to go for a religious victory in this Civ 6 gameplay by pushing my faith by war and conquest. What do you think of Civilization 6 so far? Leave your comments down below!
Civilization 6 Steam description:
"Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, winner of 15 E3 awards including Best PC Game and Best Strategy Game, is the next entry in the popular Civilization franchise, which has sold in over 34 million units worldwide, including more than 8 million units of Civilization V.
Originally created by legendary game designer Sid Meier, Civilization is a turn-based strategy game in which you attempt to build an empire to stand the test of time. Become Ruler of the World by establishing and leading a civilization from the Stone Age to the Information Age. Wage war, conduct diplomacy, advance your culture, and go head-to-head with history’s greatest leaders as you attempt to build the greatest civilization the world has ever known.
Civilization VI offers new ways to engage with your world: cities now physically expand across the map, active research in technology and culture unlocks new potential, and competing leaders will pursue their own agendas based on their historical traits as you race for one of five ways to achieve victory in the game.
EXPANSIVE EMPIRES:
See the marvels of your empire spread across the map like never before. Each city spans multiple tiles so you can custom build your cities to take full advantage of the local terrain.
ACTIVE RESEARCH:
Unlock boosts that speed your civilization’s progress through history. To advance more quickly, use your units to actively explore, develop your environment, and discover new cultures.
DYNAMIC DIPLOMACY:
Interactions with other civilizations change over the course of the game, from primitive first interactions where conflict is a fact of life, to late game alliances and negotiations.
COMBINED ARMS:
Expanding on the “one unit per tile” design, support units can now be embedded with other units, like anti-tank support with infantry, or a warrior with settlers. Similar units can also be combined to form powerful “Corps” units.
ENHANCED MULTIPLAYER:
In addition to traditional multiplayer modes, cooperate and compete with your friends in a wide variety of situations all designed to be easily completed in a single session.
A CIV FOR ALL PLAYERS:
Civilization VI provides veteran players new ways to build and tune their civilization for the greatest chance of success. New tutorial systems introduce new players to the underlying concepts so they can easily get started."

My channel focuses on strategy games and indies. Every let's play/gameplay video will include an on camera intro and outro to hopefully provide additional information on the topic of that video!
"there goes my alarm... I'm just gonna go one or two more turns"
story of Civ life.
200 turns later ........
Got it on sale the other day and i went from showing up to work 10 minutes early to 1 minute late smh. This game is an hour eater in the best way lol
Can we just take a minute to appreciate this game's amazing soundtrack?
MrUberShark ikr
It’s still epic
Yes
Ig I'm all alone in this one... I actually think the soundtrack is absolute crap..
they should remove the sunset system for england because the sun never sets on the british empire
daaaaaam son that was good
Spain too
the sun did set on the Spanish empire...
Should it always be dawn for Japan then? :P "Empire of the rising sun" if I remember correctly.
not at its height
Fun fact! The continent Rodinia (road-in-ee-uh) is a part of a theory which believes that throughout the Earth's lifetime, there may have been several supercontinents like Pangea. One of the theorized supercontinents is called Rodinia!
I was looking at a atlas and Rodinia was included for the supercontinents, so I think it’s confirmed.
TheGolden Cow you sound like that one girl in everyones classes

Most informative, fast paced yet pleasant in the same time. I've watched about 7 others doing this after the pre-release was out and I think yours is the best. You know your stuff, you paid attention to the modifications so you're going smoothly where others stumble and sometimes make fools of themselves, not to mention wasting our time when they should have had their lessons done much, much thoroughly.
Thank you, man, great job!
The effect for discovering new areas is really cool, how the terra incognita melts away
This was the first ever Civilization video series I ever watched, I was so love-struck with this game while watching this all those years ago. Thank you Drew for showing me this amazing game
Yeah same here! The first Civ video I've watched was a drew video and since then I was hooked
Finally a playthrough that doesn't consist of a guy stopping every 20 seconds saying: "NOW, LET ME EXPLAIN TO YOU HOW THIS OBVIOUS, OLD MECHANIC WORKS, BUT LET ME EXPLAIN IT SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME... ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS NOTHINGNESS..."
Welcome.
"Just as it has always been..."
if you want an actual play through with no explanations or stops, GaLm just started, and he gives outstanding commentary.
I think when satellites are researched it should remove the drawn view, and just have the darkened view like in Civilization V (or at least make it optional), because I don't feel like the drawn look fits the more modern eras.
maybe it will change as the eras progress...
Pre drugs and pr0n drew looks so innocent and pure smh my head
Drew you are still at 69k subs. Can we just appreciate that for a moment ?

:) good luck with the popularity drew!
"The only problem with snow is...it sucks! We can't settle in snow; it's just so terrible."
We should have a Civ who can make use of snow. You know how in Civ 5, The Netherlands could turn the normally useless marshes into a gold mine? We need a Civ who can do that with snow. Like, say, maybe Russia or the Inuit.
Or the Chukchi, or Scandinavian civs.
I would love if the inuit were in a civ game, especially since the devs have been pushing to include new civs, and the inuit have very good potential I think
Lapland or Skrælings would be epic.
i believe russia now works very well in tundra. they also have a few traits to expand their borders!
Davies Yup, I saw the leader review yesterday. It was great to see that someone on the dev team was actually thinking like I was (and even using one of the civs I mentioned!) :D
Best play through I've seen so far, very informative, thanks!
I love the music in the background at around the 5:30 mark. The pastoral heartland sound is so fitting for a playthrough as America...
I’m watching this whole series during the virus 😂
Same

I wish if u start with a river sailing got researched 1/4 faster.
and i like how u research sailing when u start with an ocean 1/2 faster
this is going to be so awesome
Thank you so much for your game preview! You are easy to understand and follow! Keep up the great work!
Teddy Roosevelt the god-king... never thought I'd hear that one lol
Omg the graphics are so good!!!
If you like childish baby graphics
B..but i like it
Jazon Well arnt you special?
Tripp, that is the art style you dislike, not graphics.
+tripp fields if you like bland uncanny valley...
am I the only one that thought LINK? when he met with the japanese representative. i mean look at those triforces!
The Japan guy had the triforce on his soldiers *instantly tries to become his friend*
Awesome, Drew. Keep this up. So stoked for this game!!!
the music and the aesthetics are just beautiful
Love America’s music in this game
Gorytos is an awesome hulster for a bow
this channel will go somewhere, youre doing lots of stuff right. earned my sub,
F*ck Yea !!!!!!!!
I am SO exited to play it My self

communism ,fascism and democracy make this game that much better
You should have go after that barbarian scout because now he knows you are there so he will go tell his friends and expect to be attack now.
I literally couldn't wait for this, I kept checking UA-cam in school :P
Ooo Drew.. You know how to treat a guy
Every civ should have its own unique casus belli
i freaking love churros too its so good now im going to ask my mom to buy churros
Teddy once punched a man in the face that was pointing a guy at his head, he then walked off. dude was a badass.
That shine on the ocean at 21:41 is gorgeous! Those art-style haters are crazy.
P.S. Your problem of movement at 24:15 would be a great use of the Egyptian Chariot Archers which you said didn't seem that good in your breakdown. I'm really liking the changes to movement, makes for some very interesting combat tactics. Hopefully what they did make AI tactics easier to handle.
Also, I'm enjoying the videos keep up the good work.
Brand new to Civilization all together! Already feeling sadistic tyrannical fervor building inside me!
Very good video, best civ 6 lets play I watch. I subscribe and hope series keeps good. (sorry bad English)
Why am I looking this gameplay? For Roosvelt's moustache!
Bully!
The fact that he used the term terra incognita made my day.
Terrible scouting with that warrior ^^. Always avoid rough terrains when u are using a warrior. But great video with great informations. Your energy is communicating. Keep it up, you are doing a great work with your channel !
You lucky...person. I still have to wait three more weeks. I just finished what might be my final playthrough of Civ 5, and after almost 2000 hours, I've don't want to play it anymore. I need Civ 6 now.
Every preview game will be different for different youtubers! AND IM GOING TO WATCH THEM ALL!
When will this dude begin playing man
wow, what an awesome let`s player...didn`t know about you - subbed!
preordering now. well done firaxis
late af but nice videos man
your vids are dope keep up the good play thurs
gorytos is a Quiver just incase someone was wondering.
Congratz on 70k
A "gorytos" is a nice holder for your bow when you ride (a horse). You can put your bow there and ride un-hindered and then draw the bow from the gorytos.
I'd like to see vassal states again.
Hey drew, the red ww2 mod is being revived. Would you consider doing another playtrough?
im so hyped for this game to come out!
Drew, you should build your city 2 tiles up north, were two rivers connect, then you can defend city more easily.
Starting near an arctic section that spawns lots of barbarians is actually a very good thing. The trick is to not kill the encampments. Leave them alone and let them spawn barbarians. Keep armies around with which to kill those barbarians. After a unit has been in that area long enough to gain a few promotions, move them out to become seasoned troops with which to protect your empire. Move new or otherwise as yet untrained units into that arctic area to start gaining experience. In short, barbarian infested arctic regions should be seen as an experience point factory for your troops.
19:12 yosegi-zukuri is the Japanese art of woodcarving. So no, quite different from apple pies.
5:38 on satellites, is that a moon lander wonder?
I don't think it's ever officially been called a goody hut, just slang.
For the map icons that appear in the fog of war, it would be cool if the icons were specific to the Civ culture
"So we are going to have some problems with Japan that's for sure" -Drew 2017
oh the irony
@Drew Durnill
A gorytos is a bow-case
This is really cool! 😊
Dat start tho
That full length Teddy theme music, holy crap I'm feelin patriotic as FUARK!
BULLY!!!
One thing I would like in the game is a option to push starting civs away from my own civ, since I like to build wide. So, further distance between the compeding civs would be a great option for me.
This is amazing content
Luke Heath play beyond earth
Yes bring it on
Wait this game came out this far back? Sheesh Drew indifferent
Technically I believe they were always "tribal villages" except for V, "goody hut" is just a colloquial name given by fans and eventually adopted by the devs. V was the only one that was different and they were "ancient ruins" there for some reason.
This is a very enjoyable and educational analysis of Civ 6 at least once I stopped yelling at my screen, "For the love of all the gods that be would you stop rambling sideways and move straingt to the point? " Five minutes of sream of conscious 'by-the-ways' just to make a ten second gameplay observation was a bit much. But his obvious enthusiasm was so vibrant it finally won me over. All in all I'd call this a job well done.
I could watch him preview growth od grass and I would watch it whole day. 🙌👶
Dude I already bought just waiting for it to come out hooo weee
Sean Bean is the man
a world builder in the game who is easy to use
that would be great :)
An Vatican Civ will be nice for an 1 city civ like Venice in Civ 5
Double experience from recon units would of been better. From what I have heard, revealing new tiles with your scout grants experience as well.
Is there still the queue system in cities? Or can you only do one at a time for production in cities?
And thank you for making these videos! I'm so stoked for this game and I love watching these!
Thank you!
How about when we conquer other Civ's, can we get conscript troops from the conquered civ's. Can we get some of their unique buildings and troops?
Lol apple pies idk why that's funny to me 😂😂
Drew must have done a video true start location America huge Earth will somebody tag me in it please
The famous sheep of the desert
I like the graphics and battle animation, The city layout, The less of a focus on science, New units, the new system for city-states, the Eureka stuff, the city lights, the sun, the UI improvements and more.
I don't like the huge focus on religion, or how crazy the barbarians are.
I'd like to see scouts as a starting unit in addition to the warrior, banning of religious units in a territory, more map graphics, lasers for a nuclear defense or some kind of defense, encampments either speed up military unit production or can build them without the city, and more ways to build diplomatic ties.
Most importantly I want to be able to exchange a leader in a civilization like Washington Roosevelt. Like a choice of two leader per civ.
A gorytos is a bow case for a Scythian bow
Is there an (advanced?) option to turn off the barbs? Kea no approve.
That is Mississippi River I think
i hope this will be on xbox one i cant aford a pc but ive played them since civ 2
The think that's bothering me is the minimap. I think they should make the unexplored land a bit more darker than the hand drawned part that you discovered.
The art style makes me want to Remove my eyes
Drew that delegation was a statue thing

I feel like the map is a little to bright and makes it a little hard to see the icons over the map in the later stages
He's "totally not worried" about the barbarian scout that just found his city. He should be, very worried. When a barbarian scout finds your city, if they make it back to their barbarian encampment alive, that encampment starts to churn out barbarian units, all of which beeline straight to your city. Killing barbarian scouts is an absolute top priority. My first warrior isn't going more than two hexes away from my starting city. That's what scouts are for. Oh, and scouts are also quite capable of killing barbarian scouts themselves, especially if you've given yourself the proper civic for it.
Starting strategy; build two scouts and send them circle scouting around your city. Follow this up with building two extra warriors which you use to eliminate with prejudice, any barbarian encampments you meet. Keep your first warrior in your city. Ultimately, garrison your especially your border cities with combat units that can move three hexes, so they can catch and engage barbarian scouts. Fail to do this and your improvements and districts WILL get pillaged.
Not really, nothign about the starting strategy is settled. Many other youtubers have survived without doing this, without their improvements and districts pillaged!
The game is really easy a Prince level compared with earlier versions. You don't have to worry about any that stuff. Explore with your warrior while your scout is training. Survey the surrounding location build a slinger, followed by a settler. Builder then another slinger and the another settler. Upgrade to the archers try to avoid war until you get crossbow and the catapult. Rope a dope them in the first war by killing them playing defensively and once you kill the force take a couple of their cities games in the bag at that point and you can bully everyone else.
Works every time from small maps to huge with any civ that I've tried. I haven't started playing the harder levels yet as I'm still trying to win with something other than cultural victory and my last two matches were on the huge map with normal number of AI so they take ages.
GlassTopRX7 Who plays on Prince? It's had no challenge, and never really has, you would at least have to go to emperor to even start getting some competition. Also, your strategy with slinger is okay, but you would defiently also want some workers, since on the harder diff. you get behind from the very start. CIties are important, but so is city yields.
Blizzard Gamers
Looks to me that this streamer is playing on Prince. As most of the others are as well Which is were most players start while learning the in and outs of the new game.
As for the strat we'll see I've only had the game one weekend so far. The AI isn't going to get any smarter they just nerf the player with harder skill levels and tweak thier aggression levels a little.
I didn't go super elaborate with my explanation but cities are more important than development early on, you just have to be able to defend them though. I did include 1 builder up to that point. Focusing on enhancing is going to put you behind because of the base resource model. Once I have my 4th city I give them more attention but most of the focus is building an army.
GlassTopRX7 He was locked to be playing on prince :)
I agree, cities early, improvements later, I just pointed out one builder will be needed. Getting the extra food/production early on is quite nice. Problem with later dif. is that when you go to war, it's taker longer, because the AI has more units, and stronger compared to yours (+x where x = diff over Prince i think). It takes time, and amenities will surely go down. Warmongering can also be a pain in the ass, so you have to be real fast.
It would be nice if they added more future tech,
Can you zoom so far away that you can see the actual earth like in Civ IV?
yosegi zukuri are little japanese statues, nice to look at but definitely inedible ;)
Love civ 6
did he notice that colours of the USA on thing look asactly like the frech flag
The scouts... HAVE DOGS?
Do you have to turn on the sunset? When I was playing the sun never set. Maybe it's cause my empire is just too epic for sunsets, or my game is broke? Anyone know?
Does the dotted line border at the beginning mean any civ can cross it without open borders. Then once you gain the ability to get open borders they become secure?
