Amenities or luxuries give 4 amenities to your empire per. While each city only can use the lux once if you have 2 of the same Lux it can supply 8 cities. 5. There will be no barbs late game so I don't know how the pantheon is a good one (personal opinion)
When you build a Settler you lose 1 population on your city. That's why Scythia capital is 3 pop, she probably build at least 2 cities, while Japan still 5 pop, I bet he didn't made any city. When you finished building your settler you can see a perfect example of this happening. You finished the settler in the same turn your city grow but you didn't gain population because you just used one pop for the settler.
Attaching units to each other will be great for transport, but when in combat, I usually move my generals around the troops to make sure as many as possible get the adjacency bonus when they attack. I love the Civlilzation series, and generally, I think it has gotten better with each sequel. It looks like that will continue to hold true with Civ 6. I really liked that they started moving towards more unique civilizations and more situational boosts and requirements with Civ 5, and with Civ 6, they seem to be taking that even further.
What I don't like about Pangea maps is that you can tell from the start where the map ends. I think they should make the map frayed around the edge so you never know how much there is left to explore.

Second go around I'm playing Japan with Cleopatra below and Brazil to the West.... Veryyyyyyyyy angry leaders coming for me. Currently surprised Cleopatra with my militaristic force but I'm not very good at this religion thing so Brazil is way ahead on that, and Cleo is in first for Science and Culture. :(

I watch Drew's civ playthroughs not because he pronounces words correctly but because I believe he has a master plan to take over the world.
