    The guy you're talking about is one of the most highly praised amp manufacturers of nowadays, which over the years has created a unique and inimitable sound (Masotti Guitar Devices amps). This shows clearly that on the internet are all good to write paragraphs of philosophy and morality, But in reality the facts clear divide between people speaking only to give breath to their mouth and those who make real, tangible things. You can continue to sell your damaged goods elsewhere, not here.

    Well, when you're guitarist, and you want to make your own sound it's good to inspire yourself by knowing what the masters used to play with. All 4 parts of this I find very useful, it's like a good lecture. As a Pink Floyd/David Gilmour fan I'm amazed of this great research work. It took time to found this information, and record it as one. Thanks for putting this together in one good 4 part speech.

    We're all kidding ourselves if we think we can perfectly reproduce the sound and inflection of one of our era's greatest artists. That being said, knowing how he achieved some of that sound certainly does help us all in the creation of our own sound and style. I have no ambition to mimic Mr. Gilmour, but I am hungry to take a peek behind the scenes to see some of the ideas he used. After that, it's on to my own style. Great video and thanks.

    I like the short review on some pedals you showed and it brigs us all a big step foward.

    This is VERY VERY good! I see some idiots in here doesn`t realize that this guy doesn`t try to BE Gilmour....He just wanna show and teach us how David uses his gear and why he uses them. The "Gilmour tone" is SPOT ON! VERY good work! This is very informative for us guitar suckers who want to get tips on David`s tone and gear.

    I see, so the overdrive pedal is fed into the muff.
    I had it backwards, so this was helpful. I have a top tone DG2, a muff clone, and I had the overdrive afterwards. The tone is too muddy that way. I'll try having OD first.
    Thanks for the clarification.

    Thank you very much for the video! How did you lower the noise from the guitar? I use a Fender American Standard with the original pickups, but they are very noisy when I turn on the drive. Do you use noise reduction pedal, or just a good shielding of guitars?

  • @MasottiGuitarDevices
    @MasottiGuitarDevices 13 років тому

    Non solo.... un Big Muff con un boost in front è come cavalcare una tigre.... roba che a confronto una Rectifier è un micetto.... Non solo si sta parlando di distorsioni pesanti, ma dell'high-gain più incontrollabile che esiste.

    Ma enza arrivare al moderno, se ti guardi il live at pompei e vedi il solismo su echoes, dimmi se è poco gain :)) Avendo provato una volta la stessa configurazione (hiwatt+binson echorec+fuzzface, mancavano solo le casse wem e... le mani di Gilmour), ti assicuro che stando davanti all'ampli mi sono fatto una pulizia facciale automatica... :)))

      @Bloodysugar 7 років тому +1

      As a matter of fact, he did. I'm a bit surprised he didn't go for a centaur, cause it's way more clear, harmonic and precise, but knowing how he liked costumised effects, I would be more surprised if his TS were not modded.
      As said in the video he used the P2, a modded Big Muff. And before that we know most big stages Muffs were modded and there were 2 kinds of Big Muffs : the ones you could hear in concert / albums and the one you could buy... Pink Floyd being all into sound experimentations I guess he didn't play long with a genuine factory Big Muff, if ever, while other artists looking for new sounds were modding their effects. Last year he asked Analogman to make for him an edgier SunFace (allready one of the best fuzz ever) using BC109 transistors.
      So he doesn't only have a great hear and conception of what kind of sound he wants, obviously he also knows a lot about components thanks of decades of experimentations. It would be very strange if he didn't tryed modded Tube Screamers.
