A faster and improved version ua-cam.com/video/69TAUY4ZkcQ/v-deo.html For newer cars, if the auto-down doesn't work after putting back the fuse, try these other procedures: 1. Instead of auto-down, try manual down all the way, then manual up all the way, then try again auto-down. 2. Instead of auto-down, do manual up all the way, then hold auto up for 10 seconds, then see if the calibration did succeed.
Literally followed you action for action... needed the blue clips and found my reg was bent out of shape... bent back and everything in place, over extend and backed off on the raise and didn't completely go down... thanks to you, my window is working perfect. Thank you! 04 s60r
Good directions. My window that has not stayed up for over a year without a double pull up on the button now status up without a problem. Thank You for your help.
You’re a life saver once again! Thank you so much. Excellent video! My drivers side window wouldn’t go all the way down and also wouldn’t close properly.
In my case (VOLVO V70, 2005) only this helped: Key position II, when lowering the window I pull out the fuse, then the key to position 0, after a few seconds I put the fuse back and turn the key back to position II. Now attention! I lower the window holding the switch in the first position (manual lowering), the window goes down to the very bottom, and I still hold it for about 10 seconds. Then the same up - I pull the switch and hold it in the first position (manual lifting), the window reaches the very top, and I hold it for about 10 seconds. After that, the window started to go automatically (switch in the second position) down and up perfectly!
This work on my 2014 xc90 d5 Thanks otherwise im fed up because of wind deflector it been going down again (safety mode) so something been caching window, but now sorted 👌
4:23 to put the fuse back on So that part cut out but you basically needed to open the door again right and insert the fuse. In other words it’s ok to open the door you have to in fact to get access to the panel.
Worked for me too, on my 2010 XC90. Thank you. Though, the problem randomly reappears (but only to the front left window), then I have to fix it again.
This worked for me on XC90 2009: 1. Engage the auto-down function and remove fuse during window movement. 2. Install fuse back into position. 3. Engage the up function and hold it engaged for 5 seconds after the window has reached the fully closed position. 4. Verify window is now working properly.
Hi! Thanks for your videos! What about the auto lock when driving more than 7km/h? According my drivers manual should do it automatically, but don’t . Any advice?
Hi , what if one window (in my case the drivers side front) will not close ? I'd assumed it was a bad switch or fuse . Now I'm thinking it's NOT the fuse because it stopped opening or closing but then I got it to work again for a few days . Searched your videos but didn't see one for this . Thanks ! Forgot to mention ; 2000 S70
I'm not used to the S70 but a bad switch can also work intermittently. Usually what happens is we open the door when it rains and water gets to the electric board with the switch and forms corrosion over time. Such problems almost always start failing intermittently. But I'm only guessing. There's a good forum for S70, may want to ask the folks www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=2aa51748032190df8cac5a4c951e0ed6
May try doing the whole reset procedure as shown, sometimes if the procedure is not followed correctly, the window may get stuck in the manual mode. But it may also be an issue with the window controller unit (the part with the switches) which I believe can be replaced with similar year without programming
I have a little different issue with mine. The window goes up too far in auto mode and comes back down as if it has experienced an obstruction. Any clues? Or does this same thing work for that?
my drivers door windows does what yours is doing, i just have to keep my finger on the switch up for a while, I must try this fix out to see if it works, no harm in trying.
FIXED MINE! I got on the Matthewsvolvosite forum and found a couple entries there about it. What I ended up doing was putting the window all the way down. Getting the CB ready to be pulled. Started the window up in automatic mode and pulled the breaker before it reached the top. Waited about 15 seconds. Put the breaker back in and manually ran the window all the way up. Then held the auto up button for about 5 seconds. Shazam, window goes auto down and auto up perfectly. Hope that helps
Check the fuse and connectors inside but the window switch module may be bad, can be replaced with a used one without programming (despite what Volvo says) www.volvoxc.com/forums/showthread.php?18607-Driver-side-window-switch-module

Awesome! Easy fix! I thought it needed a new window mechanism!
Worked for me in my V70 2.4 D5, helped me with windows rolling itself down when using automatic mode to go up. Thanks!

Perfect! Sometimes these windows keep going out of calibration so may need to redo (my front left one is like such)

Thank You for your help.
Hi Peppermint, thank you so much. Both windows were 'bouncing' back down. Now working properly. Cheers.
Glad it works!

Just tried it and almost cried, I’ve been trying for a year to stop that window from going back down halfway when I put it up and it worked.
Great to hear!
That worked for our 2002 S60 driver window. Thanks!!
This worked for me in my 2007 Volvo V70. Thank you, Peppermint!

Correct. There is no problem opening the door to put the fuse back in
S60 my 2002: one of the best car ever made!!
This also fixed my v70r, mine would go up almost to the top and then roll itself back down like it was sticky and thought something was in the window.
Worked for me too, on my 2010 XC90. Thank you. Though, the problem randomly reappears (but only to the front left window), then I have to fix it again.

I think that is a setting done with the Vida software (dealership)

Very helpful. I have this issue. Thank you.
welcome! if it's sometimes recurring, just keep recalibrating it
Good Vid man. Seems to work the same for XC90 as well. Possibly for all P2 chassis? Either way. Thank you for the vid!
Welcome. I found out one of my windows goes out of calibration every few weeks, keep calibrating it with this procedure.
