I have one of these that i keep in my RV. Works great to blow up an air mattress. Way faster than the little outlet ones, and when you're on propane, every amp counts. Does a decent job at keeping the dust off the counters as well, and it fits under the pullout bed/table thing.

Got o e of these for my gf years ago. I am the only guy not killed for buying the “wife” a vaccuum 🎉😂❤ used to pump the water out of her jet skis foot wells when cleaning. Car detailing, small cleanups. I was surprised at work when a company I worked with was able to “blow lines” in electrical pipe 100 plus yards through 3/4, and 1” pvc lines. Worked great 😮. Didn’t think it could do that much at that distance. Was with a non fuel one too

They do exactly what they’re paid to do. A roofer, developer, or construction company probably would’d have much use for em…Simply not large enough. But, for everything else they’re a necessity. I restore stone (marble, granite etc..), & just about every type of hard service flooring. Granite, ceramics, travertine tile, & wood flooring get filthy over time. Using strong PH chemicals, & a commercial orbital scrubber/polisher always cleans floors new. But, once the chemicals, & scrubber have done their jobs it’ll leave the floor smeared with water, chemicals, & mud on every inch of it. Most people spend multiple times simply mopping it up, but they’re actually smearing everything right back into their cleaned floors, This vacuum removes everything, every time, & within minutes, & no mops. Ultra efficient, ultra clean. Both Milwaukee’s are necessities, & both are incredible values priced below $200. If you already own a couple/several batteries (like most) the M18 is only $136 (really only one anyone would ever need), even the Fuel is still incredibly inexpensive at $199.00.

As a British person I can say we use BOTH "vacuum cleaner" and "hoover" BUT we would still say "shop vac" for one of these.
Also the history behind the name hoover comes from the American appliance manufacturer of the same name. They were one of the first companies in the word to make vacuum cleaners and because of the brand name association with the product it eventually became an alternative slang name for the product. An American equivalent example would be Q-Tips. I know the official term in the USA for the type of product is cotton swab (in the UK we say cotton bud not swab) but because Q-Tips is one of the biggest manufacturers of the product it became an alternative slang name. Here in the UK we do not have the brand Q-Tips our only major branded one is from the American company Johnson & Johnson (or Johnson's as it is also known)

I use one of these frequently @ work, we have abused it like that Hoover you mentioned... hasn't failed yet and it's probably sucked up over 400 to 500 Lbs. of concrete dust. Compact, easy to clean and withstands daily industrial use. An old piece of T-shirt wrapped around the filter with a zip tie to secure it works as a great pre-filter and saves on replacements. 👍

Great review! I've owned that model vacuum about 3 years now and feel it does fine for what it is, however I've also noticed the hose clogs easily. I remove it from the vacuum, connect the hose to the blower end of the vac, then put the other end of the hose into the inlet of the vacuum and switch it on. That usually removes the clog and keeps the crap inside the vac.

Only complaint’s I have about this vacuum is its hose seems to clog up very easily at the 90° bend as it enters the base. I have learned it’s better to keep lid open to help with that other problem is it’s such a pain in the but to remove hose and battery from unit I have had mine going on 4 years I guess and it’s always has worked well other than the before mentioned issues. Thanks for all the great videos.

I’ve had this for a few years now it’s very handy for what it is, and your rite you can’t compare it to a plug in 5 gallon. But very handy for small quick clean ups ,and the car! I would recommend trying a high output battery (I would imagine a new forge also I don’t own one yet) the h.o. Battery you can notice a improvement in performance.

I use one for work. It takes some abuse. Runs great with 8ah high output batteries which are expensive in themselves.
Downsides are the short hose and possibility of the hose getting stuck if debris gets inbetween the lugs at the connection to the main unit. I modified a longer hose from a different vacuum which was very worthwhile but doesn't store in the unit the same.

The only thing I don't like is that the switch and the inlet are on opposite ends. I often wish I was able to hold the carry handle in my left hand and operate the switch with my thumb while manipulating the hose with my right. Maybe that's just me though.

2 or 3 years ago they gave me that vac and a charger for free for buying two batteries. I have treated it like a $2 "anyting you want" and it still sucks and blows well. Makes some funny sound but don't they all after a year. I hated the size of the tank so I bought a bucket and rigid vac attachments and made a pre tank 5 gal bucket capacity. Just run my bucket in line ahead of the vac with whatever hose and attachment I want. My bucket doubles as a dust collect when I through a few inches of water in the bottom before attaching to my table saw, router, etc.
Tbh for a free vac I get more use out of it than other shit I've spent hundreds on

A couple of things with this product which I have used extensively. A 5Ah battery lasts 10 minutes tops. It doesnt hook up to your packout system so it falls to the ground a couple of times a day.
There is no good way of keeping the hose from dangling without popping the lid and stuffing it away each time.
If you have very short mobile jobs it works ok. But I would argue that a compact wall connected shop vac is way better it if you have power outlets at your disposal.
Which you will need anyway at the rate this thing goes through batteries. But when you really need a cordless vacuum it's there for you. Capacity wise it works just fine for small jobs like cleanup after mounting stuff to walls. And cleaning the back of the truck every now and then.

      I haven’t used it but I can’t imagine it’s very good at 12v
My guess would be it’s either good for a really short time or bad for a long time.

We all call them hoover's in the UK. There's a brand of vacuum cleaner called Hoover and the name just kinda stuck.
It's one of those annoying things, that are called something they aren't. Like you guys and sheet rock I believe. Its drywall right?

    • @zahidshabir4038
      @zahidshabir4038 2 місяці тому

Hoover is ACTUALLY an American company. We in the UK only use the name "Hoover" because of the brand name becoming genericised and associated with the product. It is like how Americans say Q-Tips instead of Cotton Bud/Swab. Hoover makes lots of products outside of Vacuum Cleaners too. I have a Hoover branded washing machine and the thing works wonders.

I have the older equivalent DeWalt 18V shopvac, which I bought because (A) it was on clearance somewhere ($55, I think, with no batteries) and (B) I already had DeWalt 18V batteries. It's louder, I think, but eye test says it also sucks harder, if you will. I really wish it had the toolbox form factor, because it's rounded and doesn't stack with anything and doesn't store tools on-board as well. My girlfriend uses her Honda Fit like a pickup truck -- it hauls appliances, trash, bales of straw, loads of dirt and compost and mulch, anything, and in shockingly large amounts. So the DeWalt shopvac gets used as a car vac, and it does a stunningly good job. But you really want to get a "Claw" type nozzle for it -- trust me on this. Works well on upholstery, etc, wet and dry, so long as you aren't picking up big chunks of stuff. Makes the vac much more effective.
