You can attach the hose to the exhaust port for a couple of reasons. The first reason is to use it like a blower if you wanted to blow dust etc. The second reason which is the reason I use the old vacuum for is as an inflator. I use it to blow up the kids pool in the summer. Very fast and portable, and certainly beats huffing and puffing...
I Also, I like to use two hoses, one to suck, and one out the window of a work area, then you can use no filter, get more suction, and the exhaust fine dust goes out the window, instead of into the air...

Nice little cordless vacuum-I am a vacuum collector-may have to add this to my collection. The "47" in reference is how high the vacuum can lift a column of water in a manometer guage-device for measured low inlet and output air pressure of a device.Manometers use two main reference-water column and mercury.(Hg)Also the measurements with manometers used in pipe organs.I would use the bags in this unit as much as possible-again to save your filter and motor. The bags are NOT meant to be reused-they are disposable. If you try to reuse-guess in an emeregency-the bag pores will be somewhat clogged and may not let enough air thru to cool the motor.Does Milwaukee sell a resuable cloth bag for this machine-That would be nice for folks like in shops and such with a lot of stuff to pick up like sawdust and shaving.
Low voltage service tech here. I use all half stack pieces for my carry in kit and use the compact dollyto wheel it in. The vacuum is sandwiched between an organizer and a tool tote, it works out great!
I purchased the M12 fuel vacuum after watching videos and reading many articles about how many people are having issues with it shutting down and over heating I returned it and purchased the M18 Packout vacuum. I really loved the size of the M12 vacuum but the fact the battery life is so short I didn't want to use it and have it break down on me and then have to return it. I am definitely happy with the new M18 Packout vacuum. So awesome that I can hook it up to all my other Packout cases. There is definitely a huge price difference trust me it's worth it.
Glad they increased the size to a 2.5 gal & redid the hose inlet/outlet in the new packout version shop vac (gen 3). Don’t think it’s intended to replace the gold standard of shop vacs (Ridgid big boy, imo) for large jobs etc.... BUT for its size, being battery, & fitting into the packout system w/ other packout boxes. I think it will make a good compliment to your main corded shop vac, as another key feature it has; is getting into restricted spaces where a corded big boy can be frustrating (tight laundry rooms, & getting behind a washer/dryer, for instance 😳). Thx Vince & VCG for the vid✌🏼
The hose makes a 90 degree turn where it’s attached to the base, just like the last model. It WILL clog extremely easy, just like the last model. I like the vacuum, but that’s a design flaw.
I’ve been using this vacuum for about 9months with no issues. I don’t think it’s as flawed as you’re saying but I could be wrong. I’m a plumber in case you were wondering what I use it for
As a painter, I don't really need ALL the packout stuff(still want it all, why? I love tools) but this would be great alternative to loading and carrying my rigid vacs, especially on smaller jobs. Larger vacs can get in the way in smaller houses and in the truck.
I love VCG reviews because Vince is a straight up guy. This review was informative, but what i think we all want to know, is how does it compare to the 0880-20 version 2
Sound Intensity doubles every 3 decibels, so the New Packout Vac is a considerable improvement. I hope to score one this season of deals. Waiting patiently...
I went out and bought it because of this video. I use it more then my corded one in my shop just because it’s so cool! Love it! On low it lasts awhile and still does a great job. I use high in short bursts if I really really need it but most time it’s on low. Thanks for the review VCG!
I have both. The Packout vac stays in my van now rather than the Bosch because it’s easier to keep in place. The Bosch is such a weird shape that it’s hard to find a good place to put it other than the floor. Couple of comparisons, the Packout does not have any extension tubes, which I used regularly with the Bosch. The Bosch however does not have a blower outlet, so it is a vac only. The Bosch has become more of a dust collector for me, as I can plug the hose for it directly into my Bosch miter saw port, and hang it off the back of my miter saw stand. The Packout is my every day grab and go vac.
The true reason this vacuum is better than Any other is its stackable, this gets my truck vacuum off my shelfs and off my truck ground floor. I cant tell you how many vacuums I ruined over the years because the hose gets crushed or it was just in my way in the truck and got tossed. I bought the packout mounting plate and this vacuum stays stacked on my truck with 6 other packout boxes of special tools that don't need to be on every jobsite. I have a second stack of 6 boxes of tools and materials I use on every jobsite on the wheeled dolly bottom box that i keep bungee Corded in. This vacuum is exactly what I needed
The packout glitch was more extensive than just the 3 piece for 109. I got the bottom wheeled box for 59.67, which was all I was after in the first place.
I use my PACKOUT vacuum for service calls for clean-up and i use it with my M12 3-in cutt-off tool attachment for when i make cuts into terracotta and plaster lathe walls. The customers love the that its really quiet and that they can still work from home without interruption. Great vacuum.
@@El_Escobar612 yes. I recommend the dust collector nozzle if you are making vertical cuts and if you are making cuts into a ceiling, have a extra length hose with coupling for the extended reach.
As soon as I saw your video I packed the kids in the Jeep and ran out to HD and luckily was able to score the packout before the glitch was fixed. Good looking out!
Yes i scored Milwaukee pack out for 109$ in Portland Oregon.I showed them your receipt ,they didn’t want to do it but there was Milwaukee rep and she said she will make an Exception👍
@VCG Construction. Thanks Vince for testing that new Milwaukee M18 Packout vacuum. Hope to see a one year later video to see how it holds up to your work sites. Will you still like it? Will you find any quirks that can be deal breakers? By then, maybe there'll be deals on this Packout. Hope you and your family stay safe and well.
This vac is great for dusting up my hvac return vents while changing filters. Easy to carry this one handed up the ladder and then using other hand on the hose. Got the brushed tip accessory. Perfect.
Got the three price the day before the glitch, kicked myself for that one, got plans on the vacuum the near future, just found you yesterday, doing a good job keep it up!!
I wish there was some onboard storage for the tool dust collection adapter. With a battery in it, you’re left with one accessory that must stay off the hose and out of the storage chamber. Drains the batteries quite quick also. Overall quite good though.
Milwaukee always does this so I waited for the wet/dry vac redesign. I have the one with the hose that stores inside. And they are here with another one. I don't need another one of these small vacs but for the portability with packout I want one.....lol

I heard about the packout glitch but I really didn't need anymore packout. I still should have bought it. I really hope Santa brings me the vacuum! Thanks for the test Vince.

After trying many cordless vacuums, the Bosch 18v 3n is the most convenient for me. Specially on carpet steps. Just sold my Milwaukee backpack, not a convenient vac. I waited for this vac but realized it doesn’t have the extension pipes. I prefer the Bosch hose type over this Milwaukee.

A 12v vacuum would be something but my gen 2 18v cooks through batteries in no time. I think I get 20 mins out of a 5AH battery. Would certainly be cool and I’d probably buy it but I couldn’t imagine it being all to powerful or most importantly battery efficient.

I’ve had the gen1 and gen2. All I’m gonna say is: I absolutely hate the positioning of the hose where it locks in to it. It’s really damn hard to unlock and pull out. Can only fit your fingers in there. I hope the packout version is easier to work with for that.

I did the same thing and I was standing in home depot as he's showing the receipt and the store I was at didn't have the deal. I was showing the video to the cashier, but she couldn't get it to ring up at 109. We tried all the configurations, but no dice. 😭
@@williamrodriguezmswlcsw8119 usually depending on the store they will do a price Match or they will give you some discount. If it happens again might want to try a different store next time a deal pops up.
@@williamrodriguezmswlcsw8119 same here, I was on a job 10min from a Home Depot, didn't get the deal there so I ran to another HD do no go..I felt like a kid in Christmas morning that didn't his Red Ryder BB gun 😭🤣
Vince, the 180degree bend on top is second distance of about 15inches in back pressure, or loss in suction
My vac will be here this week. Can’t wait. Really want to see the packout hand cart the Milwaukee rep was telling me about the other day
Let us know what you think once you get it cuz!! 👍🏻
@@VCGConstruction delivered today my man. It’ll be on the job site Monday
Gotta get it now, just started my pack out set up today! Thanks for the reviews.
I use mine everyday and never have issues with it whatsoever. Great vacuum
I should say I use it in the plumbing world as well
Good to know, thanks!
Today is January 27th 2021. My question is I purchased the Milwaukee fuel 2.5 gallon wet dry vac from Home Depot with 5 year extended warranty. I actually used it on a job and its suction is awesome but the attachments are lackluster. What's the diameter size for the vacuum fittings so that I can purchase better set of vacuum attachments?
Dang that is a sweet machine! Thanks for the review.
I bought come cleats 3D printed and put them on my old vac it works great
Hows the height when put on the packout pack next to another box?
@@rjmac3001 it’s a few inches smaller than the half tool box or cooler works great. Look up JakeOfALL on UA-cam and you will see
Can I change my speakers out on my m18 radio /charger is the pack out radio worth the money are the speakers going to blow . I heard the it’s loaded with speakers and sounds awesome. Is this teue
Almost had the deal yesterday (11/10/20) store did not have any of the bases. All of the signage was there. Went back today there were plenty bases. Got the $179 deal also added another box and got a discount on it as well.
Subscribed after that "SUCTION". Man after my own heart
Bought this because of you 👌
Love the vids cheaaaaa
Also i just got the miluakee packout backpack, and its the best thing I've bought in awhile
I really dig the new Packout vacuum. Had it for about a week now.
@Vcg Construction I was able to score the packout deal the day after. My local home depot didn't take down the price tag on the store shelf. Also I noticed a deal at international tool that for a $150.00 purchase of Milwaukee, they would send you a free hoodie.
Vince thanks for helping me score of the three piece pack out deal for $109.87!! Me and my coworkers are stoked to be part of the VCG crew and now the pack out crew!! @vcgconstruction
The gen 1 without the filter clears water and mud very well
Hi I just picked up the pack out vacuum and I’m liking it so far
I’m waiting for that M12 vacuum to hit the shelf since I just need something small, but I’m about to jump the gun and buy myself this m18 version
A 12v vacuum would be something but my gen 2 18v cooks through batteries in no time. I think I get 20 mins out of a 5AH battery. Would certainly be cool and I’d probably buy it but I couldn’t imagine it being all to powerful or most importantly battery efficient.
I have a muffler on my big ridgid vac is super quiet, only downside is huge. Need to get a portable vac like this one, my options are ryobi or milwaukee might go for this new one.
@@henryk1031 might go for that one if I get a good deal on it.
How’s the performance compared to the non packout vac ?
Question, If you use the vacuum, then use the blower will the contents come out with the air?
@VCG Construction, Vince always great content, as soon as I saw your video ran to HD and the glitch was fixed here in Chicago area even hit two HDs.
Same here in Joliet/Shorewood...idk who was more pissed,me or the work van for driving warp speed to a couple different Home Depots...the customer service and the tool dept.workers are ignorant "A" holes by me..before I could explain anything just cut me off saying they don't care...might have to miss out on the deals and stick with Farm & Fleet
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the inches of vacuum rating is another power rating not the length of tube it will suck water through. I'm getting this vacuum soon. Home depote currently has a deal where you buy the 2 6.0 high output batteries and charger you get this fuel m18 2.5 gallon wet/dry vacuum free.
Does it make a difference in what battery you use with the m-18 pack out vacuum?
i think a double size 5 gallon with wheels and handle designed for the bottom would be cool
Power of the SUCTION!
We need to test the air tip conduit line puller! That's what I wanna use this vac for. Need to no what it will do in the real world!
I’ve had the gen1 and gen2. All I’m gonna say is: I absolutely hate the positioning of the hose where it locks in to it. It’s really damn hard to unlock and pull out. Can only fit your fingers in there. I hope the packout version is easier to work with for that.
Just picked it up thanks bro I love your show
i need one to attached to my grinder when cutting whiterock. My question is can I get a longer hose?
I had picked up the M12 vac …. For size convenience…. Fully charged 3.0 AH battery 5 times drained in about 5 minutes of use.
Did you test the longevity claims of the M12?
Love your videos
7:53 Enjoying the blower just a little too much! 💨
If any company needed local stores its Milwaukee. Wouldn't it be nice to go straight to a Milwaukee distro store and pickup specialty tools, accessories, vacuum bags, batteries etc......also a place to get tools warrantied/repaired?
Have they sorted out the circuit board issue that they had with previous m18 model where it stops sending power to motor?
Sweet vac, love mine, pairs nicely with their track saw
Anyone know what the small black thread adaptor is for? Love the vacuum thou. Definitely quieter
might have to add this to my setup so I can retire my ridgid shop vac to the garage
Can I use the old vacuum hose in replacement Woth this ?
Can you buy a longer hose for this or a extension to add on
Love to see a head to head against the backpack vac for dry stuff
O Man have I been looking forward to this guy!!! I love my 2 gal gen2 vacuum but the Packout feature is Dope!!! My gen2 liked to chew up the batteries....I ran a 9.0ah battery on it. Can't wait to pick this thing up cuz!!!! Great video as always brother 🤚👌🤘👍
I just got the new gen 4 drill and driver for Christmas now I'm going to get the packout rolling tool box then I will get the new m18 vacuum I did order the m18 high output 6.0 battery for the vacuum once I get it I also have the 100 piece shockwave packout bit kit all of this is for helping my mom and handyman around the house my handyman is fixing some things and I'm trying to help him I know a little bit about how to use my tools he is teaching me some stuff so that works out so I can help my mom out with stuff when he is not here
Great work guys , I say m18 fuel vac vs m12 fuel vac. I have the RIDGID 3 Gal. 18-Volt Cordless Handheld Wet/Dry Shop Vacuum and it’s great
Thinking of getting this to keep my semi clean well on the road lol should do the trick
I don’t have a use for the packout boxes. Is the fuel version still worth the extra money over the regular m18 version.
What is the weight like? Could you clip it to bottom off backpack if it’s not to heavy be ideal doing my a/c service
That lock and unlock on the exhaust port is to use the blower function
Wrote comment before he explained it himself
