Dallas Cowboys star, The NFL’s All-Time Leading rusher, Emmitt Smith joins The Pivot today for a conversation you don’t want to miss!
Emmitt shares how a young man from Florida who had dreams of playing for the star turned his vision into a reality breaking the mold and going far beyond what he imagined. Opening up to Fred, Ryan and Channing- the football legend talks about how his purpose went far beyond the game and becoming an admirable man solidified his legacy.
Meeting Walter Payton for the first time helped Emmitt shape his mission and knowing that breaking the running back’s record was on his radar, he worked everyday as that was his mission. Sharing memories and stories of playing for the Cowboys during the glory days of the 90s, Emmitt talks about what it was really like playing for America’s team.
Away from the field and away from the bright lights and star, Emmitt shares how being a father and how finding life again after separating from his wife of almost two decades changed him and redefined his purpose.
Tap in every Tuesday at noon eastern for our premiere episode of the Pivot. Special drops on Friday afternoons at 3:30 pm. We are your one-stop platform for all your sports and entertainment content. - Спорт
Man, this made me smile! I played with Emmitt at Florida. After college, I tried to play pro( and failed😄) I came back to UF to finish my degree, and I became cool with Fred T. Some years later I've settled in Miami for work and I meet Channing at a function for current and former Miami Dolphin players. This interview took me through several years!😊😊😊
Dope…
This is the best podcast out right now...idk what that other show doing right now. I be confused🤔😁
@@Jsteptoe fearless with Jason Whitlock is the best podcast out!
@@TheIncredibleHoosierhe garbage 💯💯🤣🤣
Wow! That's a cool memory!
This is why these interviews are so important. It give the athletes a chance ti clarify certain topics such as emmitt “holding out” I never knew that’s what really happened.
That story is wild. Even Channing saying he proved his point after is wrong. Didn’t seem like he was trying to make a point, just get paid what he was worth. Seems like the league colluded to put him in his place and it backfired. It’s even crazier that’s what HS QBs can get now before they take a college snap.
No one knew back then except for the players and owners. Thankfully social media changed everything what we need to know.
No shots at anyone but The Pivot is the epitome of a sports show by pro players…
Yes I am athlete has lost me so far this season
Absolute best

I love and respect how transparent and real emmitt is
@Tom Smith 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I believe the pivot is the place pros feel the most comfortable to present themselves and I appreciate this podcast and y’all hosts for allowing the guests to speak their stories. The best out🤝🏾
Key part: letting your guest speak
The fact that you all were able to just keep the conversation from before the sit-down going (the discussion of the contracts) is amazing. It's also dope when we get to see Fred fanboy over someone. It's rare and always dope to see a legend truly be in awe at another legend.
Man.... this show is EXACTLY what the sports world needs!!!! It's awesome to see our sports stars as they are. It's why most people form opinions of celebrities that are wrong. These men and women have lives just like you. Every single one has put in work that most regular people don't understand. It's nice to see the REAL side of your guests.
As a Dallas Cowboy Fan, an Emmitt Smith Fan, & a Pivot Fan, this interview warmed my heart!
💙💙💙💙

Emmitt was smooth on the field. He knew how to avoid taking unnecessary hits, which is the reason he was able to play so long. I would also love to see Troy Aikman on the Pivot since, Emmitt and Michael have been on here. I love the Triplets💙
Maximize your Fullest ❤️❤️❤️Potential 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Emmitt Smith will always be one of the best RBs in NFL History and that record probably won't ever be touched because the league is a passing league now. Emmitt is a class act and another great interview fellas.
100% it will be very hard to break his record. You'd have to stay healthy that long, be that great, have an o-line like he had, have a passing game to take pressure off and the desire to play that long and not doing it for the money. You'd have to want it even more than your future health. Emmitt was a beast in the right spit and time. But....the biggest reason is no team is going to pay what a running back like that would be worth.
Facts. Frank Gore had the best chance at it.
This record will never be touched! Never
Never say never
@@errolwilsonvillep6774 It’s hard to do it when the RB position is grossly undervalued and the league is pass happy right now.
INCREDIBLE!!! The Pívot has been the standard. I love the way you all sat and listened and allowed Emmitt to pour into you all. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING…so this White House story
The 1st Dallas Cowboys game I ever attended was in 1990 against Tampa Bay. It was also Emmitt Smiths first 100 yard game.
Goodshit💯
Emmitt Smith has a beautiful aura. I met him during media week for the NYC Super Bowl. Working security and my coworker wouldn’t let him come into the building. He stood calmly and waited. I looked at her like, do you know who this man is? Let him come in…I turned to look at him and he had that megawatt smile on his face. Just a beautiful spirit inside of that brother
Glad to see that Emmitt still has it together, in his Era running backs were the work horses and took a lot of head shots.
He was always aware to not take those huge hits
The guys that wore leather helmets also had it together. Don't believe the hype about taking hits.
@@RonniePTexan what ?
@@LarrySalamander Did I stutter?
Emmett never really took huge hits at all.
I rock with the energy of The Pivot, Club Shay Shay, All The Smoke cause, they listen before cutting people off. Respect!!
When Fred have a guest he really admire or like he gone talk rather than sit back like Skool with the knowledge I love that !
Channing didn't even get freaky! That's respect! Lol
As Giant’s fan mann this is one Cowboy player I will forever admire and appreciate what he gave to the game of football. Salute to you sir. Thanks for everything!!!
Yo imma keep it real, I really felt Emmitt when he described entering the Dallas Cowboy stadium on the flip side as a visitor with the Cardinals, & that being a transitional period in his life. My eyes watered Up to be honest. Getting older can be tough, acceptance makes the whole process much easier. God Bless, & God Keep U All, & I Mean That. 🙏🏿
From start to finish, The Pivot is the best show in it's genre and one of the best podcasts of all time, already. The intro is always on point. Great cinematography. Incredibly artistic.
I love this interview emmitt told us what it was like during that time of getting a new contract
The look on Emmit's face when RC said he grew up wanting to play for the Eagles is a golden moment
This is the only thing I will thank the pandemic for.. the birth of these guys bringing content like this to the world
That and spending time with our families!

@@SomethinDifferentEnt the pandemic birthed them.. I know it was after but if not for the pandemic Chan and BMARSH would’ve never had the idea to start which ultimately led to this here
Man I love your guys show.. I honestly think you guys have the best show. The success you all will see is unimaginable. I hope you all keep it simple as this roller coaster moves forward. You guys have put yourselfs in legend status in my eyes. Congratulations
Please get Barry sanders on. I would love to hear his story. Greatest RB ever. Never had a O line but still got the job done
My favorite player in NFL history u got good eyes for greatness 💙
@@stiffiejohnson1822 Wrong Jim Brown was. The show was about Emmitt. Not his fault Sanders didn't have a line
Emmitt played 13 + years and had a good line for the first 5. His greatness was the fact that he didn't have the same line and kept grinding to achieve his goal. Sanders was nice but he didn't have it in him to be the best.
I am dumbfounded that no other team offered him a contract after what he had already accomplished on his rookie contract. Look at him now. The all time leading rusher in the NFL. A record that will never be broken in today's NFL.
The reason why was because everyone knew Jerry would outbid anyone and no other team was better than the COWBOY'S at the time..Trust me bro, I watched it all..Go Cowboys!!!
He was a restricted free agent. Jerry could match whatever any other team offered & they all knew it
They knew that he was just like Tom Brady. As long as he had a good o-line he was good.
Ryan Clark: “I was a Philadelphia Eagle fan.”
Emmitt Smith: “Omg I’m taking my tequila back.”
😂😂😂😂😂
This is an amazing podcast. I just started watching (I saw the Kelce one on my recommended, and then this was posted). It's so well done, and I've never seen Emmitt Smith before (I'm ALOT younger) - I've heard of him, seen him play, but never seen him outside of ball. This podcast was so well done, and emmit is such a nice guy!!!
Emmitt is the GOAT!!! I cried when he retired even though I knew it was time. Only Emmitt and Kobe really messed me up when they retired. Big ups to Emmitts career! #22
I'm sorry Sir, but Barry Sanders is a far superior tailback than Emmit...far superior...
@gtos6929 You don't have to be sorry, Barry was the man as well. He quit though while Emmitt was playing with a messed up shoulder, winning Rings and basically had to be carried off the field. You can talk offensive line and everything you want to, but E. Smith did exactly what he was supposed to and more for a very long time.
@@asmith2738 Emmit ran behind 3 H.O.F. O-Linemen and all of them were in their primes! The other two were at least All-Pro multiple times throughout their careers. They made Emmits job, bad shoulder and all, MUCH MUCH Easier. Put both of those RBs on the other's team, and what do you have... Barry w/a 3K season with over 20K yds for a career, and Emmit Who...?
@gtos6929 As I said, Emmitt (with 2 T's) did exactly what he was supposed to do and more! If you think for one second he wouldn't of been good on another team you didn't watch and you're disqualified from this conversation.
@@gtos6929 barry had zero superbowls, fewer yards, fewer tds....disappeared in playoffs....

Another stellar interview. You guys continue to bring it each and every show. I feel so inspired after listening to your guest speak their truth. You all create a positive space for this to happen. Looking forward to your next podcast!
Wow, if there were Emmy's for podcasts, this would be the gold standard. This is one on one personal conversation's directly from the horses mouth. Not filtered through the compromised lense of a Sportscaster.
Wish we still had Walter with us man 💔

Nobody interviews better than The Pivot! I never realized how great Emmit was while watching him because the narrative was the O-Line made his job easy. It's clear Emmit put in the legendary work for legendary results! Emmit is awesome!!
Played his best game of the season that day he broke the record. So glad he did it at home.
Giants fan, this interview was amazing. Emmitt is inspiring, articulate and humble, "Professional Athletes do this for the love of the game, not the money" Thank You Emmitt.
Never liked the cowboys , but Emmitt and micheal and that huge line .. can’t deny good football. Love the Podcast it’s my fav twice a week to watch. Much respect kings
Now that my friends is how you give a true Legend his due respect and honor 🎖. Bravo 👏🏾 🙌🏾. Truly awesome.
As a Cowboy fan since the 70's and after the one win season there were so many great moments watching Emmitt. Every time he had the ball there was a possibility of him busting out for a big gain or score. His record will never be broken.
Never say never . No one thought Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 40 yr record could be broken until last week. If Ezekiel Elliott and Derrick Henry avoid injury and continue to average 1500 per season, they could break smith’s record within the next 7 years
@@professorfinnih You're right, never say never. Now someone will. Lol. Zeke could go a long way with the 2 headed monster look in Dallas but that cuts into his yardage and he already appears a little slower on the cuts. Henry still looks good but at around 30 yrs old I don't think, as beat up as RB's get, he can do 1500 for another 7.
@@NotKamalasBich u prob right, we’ll see
@@professorfinnihBasketball and football are night and day. Highschool football players can't go straight to the pros like basketball players can. Lebron never played college ball and still took him 20 years to break it. A RB will have to play it least 15 years to come close to Emmitt's record. The sport is just to tough and greulling to expect a have long career.
Emmit Smith is awesome. Class act. Always one of my all time favorite players.

@ 18:32 It's no wonder Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice scored so many touchdowns. They both were running all the way to the end zone after a run or catch in practice even after the play was over.
Absolutely Great Show!! Emmitt is a Great Man as well, much respect

“People put their own limitations on you” that’s 💯, just cause they can’t doesn’t mean that you can’t. Those are words of wisdom right there.
