Emmitt is so well rounded, he does what it takes a stable of running backs to do, now a day's. The complete back. Greatest Dallas Cowboys player of all time.

@@dannyh5937 it is unlikely to be broken for two basic reasons : 1) teams pass way more nowadays 2) teams that rush a lot try to use two running backs to share the carries. Emmitt was essentially the lone back for 12+ years , and very productive the whole time

Not to mention if his line was so good then why did Aikman have to retire early because of the hits he was taking. For maybe 2-4 years that line was the best in the NFL but that's it. The rest was 100% Emmitt
That line was really good, but Emmitt had a way of making the blocks work, even if they weren't great. Similar to a quarterback throwing a receiver open. Also that acceleration. Some of these runs he was on the line so fast, the linemen didn't need to block for very long at all.
Those morons also don't understand his unique and one of a kind ability to set up blocks making those same o-lineman look good. One of the most patient runners in history.
They just want him to be Barry Sanders when he wasn't. Emmett was an awesome running back. He was also not the equivalent of Barry Sanders by any means. You better shelf that goat conversation if you think he was better than Barry who had no line. @@isaaxvalid not only that, but there's nobody on the line higher than a 3rd round pick... Emmitt had better vision, balance, blocking, durability, longevity, and receiving skills than Barry... Plus All the records...
All I know is that for all the talk about his line, guys like Curvin Richards, Lincoln Coleman, Derrick Lassic, and Sherman Williams looked awfully pedestrian running behind that same line. Emmitt's body balance never gets enough love...it was an all time ability. That TD run vs Buffalo in Super Bowl XXVIII is impossible if you watch it again...no one in his era, Barry Sanders included, keeps their feet on that play. Give the man his just due. If anyone could've done it, the Cowboys wouldn't have been so bad without him in his peak years.
@@SNBTELEVSION nah, Barry never won a ring. He had a playoff game where he had 13 attempts for a grand total of -1 yrd. Definitely not better than ES buddy. Try again
AMEN! They kept drafting guys to be his backup, and anytime he was out (which wasn't often) we couldn't run the ball.He was just as elusive and hard to tackle as any running back ever.
Im not a Cowboys fan but the disrespect Emmitt gets is beyond criminal. People always talk about that line but most people can only name one guy on that line (Larry Allen, but Emmitt was already a 2 time champ by the time he came to Dallas), and most of that same line was on that 89 team that lost 15 games. No one shits on Jerry Rice for catches passes from 2 HoF qbs as well as another who was a league MVP.
That's been my argument for years as well. Emmitt is the only player in the history of the NFL that gets shit on for playing on a good team. Rice played with 2 hall of fame QB's and in an offensive system that was designed to get the #1 receiver the ball early and often. He played for a lot longer than Emmitt as well. Plus Emmitt only had that great line for about 4 years l. After that injuries and drugs took their toll and Aikman had to retire early because of the hits he was taking. Emmitt is #1 in my opinion because he had the stats and rings to back that up. Barry literally had a playoff game with 13 carries for negative 1 rushing yards. Emmitt would never allow that.
Don’t forget Moose Johnson taking/shielding a good deal of punishment from linebackers for Emmitt. It wasn’t just the O-line. At any given time, Emmitt had a wall of 1,500-1,900 pounds of manhood clearing the way for him.
4.2 per carry does not = GOAT status. Sorry ES fans. Even take away three or four worst seasons. Avg per carry is not impressive enough to warrant GOAT status.
@Robert Branford Not saying he isn't great.....He just aint the GOAT. And try coming up with an actual logical rebuttal this time. I don't even play football, nor have any desire or ability to do so.
@@Jigsyboy1 so all-time leading rusher in yards, td's, attempts, 3 rings, 2 mvp awards don't count? Your a fool, he is 2nd to Rice in td's and no matter what you say those are facts
@zeroinfinityzero I wasn't old enough to really watch walter payton my era barry Sanders and emmitt smith but i wouldn't be mad if people said that Walter is better than emmitt though
This is the best summary of Emmitt's career I've ever seen. Really good stuff. To those who claim he's simply a product of good blocking In encourage you to stop the video every time it looks like he's about to be tackles by one or more unblocked defenders...and then see how many yards he ended up past those defenders. Trust me, you're going to be doing a lot of counting and adding.
I tell people this all the time. Curvin Richards got cut the next day after beating the Bears, because he fumbled the ball like three times trying to run behind that (soon to be) Super Bowl winning OLine. Derick Lassic started the first two games after winning the Super Bowl with that "great" OLine, and he couldn't run behind that line, either. Give the ball to Emmitt and watch things happen! Emmitt was quick, agile, tough, hard-nosed, finesse, make you miss, run you over, catch the ball, block for the passer, do everything kind of back. The best to strap'em up!
For those of you who are too young to have actually watched this era of Cowboys football, you just can't fully appreciate what this man did for this team. It was a magical time to be a Cowboys fan. And PLEASE, PLEASE do NOT waste my time telling me that Ezekiel Elliot is better than Smith. Just don't. Smith had a drive and sheer will that I haven't seen in Elliot yet. And probably won't. Elliot has talent and physical ability. But he's NO Emmitt. Period.
Man I was 21 years old. Living the dream. And my Dallas Cowboys were kicking butt for a few years. Those were my best times. I can see it just like yesterday. Being in that moment. And thinking about this moment right now that I'm writing. I had the foresight to be able to remember those good times for when I got older like now. Life goes by too quickly. You do not realize it when you're young. Make sure and take some snapshots of your memories. So you can look at them. When you're older
No one could ever fill emmits sweet moves he's truly one of the greats beeb a Dallas cowboys fan since I was seven years old now 51 emmit Smith an Walter Payton are true icons
Never seen a running back get 100 yards a game as easily as he did. Before you knew it he already had already rushed for 100.Very consistent and amazingly conditioned too.He never seemed tired or out of it.Its like he had limitless energy. No katter how much hurt he was or how much he got hit he still was getting yards just as easy
A lot of games he actually went into halftime with like 25 or 30 yards, but the point was that they would run him over and over and make the defense tired and next thing you know he's gashing the defense for big gains and the cowboys own the clock in the 2nd half.
@@piercex3834 as great as Eric was he too often disappeared in crucial playoff games or he fumbled. The Rams didn’t win. Smith won the championships. He was very consistent and never seemed to have a bad game when it counted.
Smith was the best in his prime compared to other backs. Everyone always talks about how Sanders could move and cut. Smith don't get enough credit for the moves he could make.
Well like he said, wasn't the biggest, the fastest or the stronges, there was always someone better than him at every other thing, that's why he's stucked with "consistency".
Sanders lost more yardage from scrimmage than any other player in NFL history. That disqualifies him from any conversation in regards to his greatness overshadowing the one and only Emmitt Smith. Greatest highlight reel maybe, but not the G.O.A.T.
Emmitt made those linemen HOF'ers. What happened when Emmitt held out? Dallas lost every freakin game without him. He deserves to be rushing champion. And I dont want to here about Barry. Yes he might've beat Emmitt's record if he had a better line but then again maybe he wouldn'tve. Plain n simple people, he quit. I dont think Emmitt has the word quit in his vocabulary n that is why he is #1 n will probably never be dethroned. Remember this, you can never be the best if you quit. Let's not forget Emmitt also won Dancing WTS. Do you know why? Because he is a Winner!!! Watch videos of both of them. Barry ran with finesse. Emmitt ran with heart n determination. You can see it clear as day. Heart n determination will beat finesse everytime. I can just about guarantee you that if Barry had a separated shoulder he wouldn't come back into a game n play like Emmitt did against the Giants. In fact I doubt he would've come back into the game at all. Emmitt is the leading rusher because he is the best ever period. And no I am not a Cowboys fan.
@@davidtaylor8690 Emmitt Smith held out the first 2 games of the 1993 season why did Derrick Lassic only gain 75 yards Vs the Redskins in week 1 and only gain 52 yards in week 2 vs the Bills? if it was ALL because of the offensive line then he should have gain well over 100 yards. BTW when the Cowboys played the Redskins in week 15 Emmitt Smith gained 153 yards on 21 carries.
Absolute beast. Had the pleasure of waiting on him at the casino I used to work at. They told him before seating him and his people that I was a die hard cowboys fan. I almost passed out. I had the privileged to play with him while at Escambia High School. Everyone know right then that he was beyond special... I will always know him as #24. My daughter is in track and field and I have the honor of walking the bowl at Emmitt Smith Stadium... Thanks for some amazing memories. After watching the video, I noticed both his brothers, Eric and Emory, both attend Escambia. Emory went on to Clemson. His baby brother Emil will be missed, RIP.
You can say it was the offensive line, but when you get 11 straight 1,000 yard seasons, you are something special. Either way, Emmitt was a part of the puzzle along with Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Moose, Jay Novacek, the defensive. Everything came together and if Jerry didn't fire Jimmy, they would most likely have 3 straight Super Bowls even 4.
@Tod Wilkinson 4 at the most. By 96, Jay Novacek retired because of his back, Charles Haley would eventually retire for a short time because of his back. We were losing players in free agency and Michael Irvin's arrest put him out for 4 games. The Packers just had the talent and finally got it together to win their Super Bowl.
@@redmustangredmustangpackers were nothing. Dallas even beat them in 96 on FG’s. The balance of power was never taken by GB cause they won cause of Dallas’ 96 injuries. 97 they flopped so bad- not even close to a team worth talking about.
It was such a joy to watch the Cowboys during those amazing golden seasons and Super Bowl victories. Aikman, Smith, Irvin, Harper, Novacek. It doesn’t get any better than that.
These videos will put u in your feels man. The 90s was the best decade of football in the NFL. Life was amazing in the 90s and America was still great. We were very lucky to have watched the NFL in the greatest decade for it. We had 2 teams that won back to back super bowls in the 90s. The 92 and 93 Cowboys. And the 97 and 98 Denver Broncos. Aikman and Elway. Emmitt and Terrell Davis. Michael Irvin and Shannon Sharpe. Not to mention the great 49ers of the 90s who blessed us with the greatest receiver in NFL history in Jerry Rice. What a decade of football the 90s were.
As a cowboys fan since 89 emmitt smith is the greatest all around runningback ever, he could do it all, blocking, running, receiving, short yardage situations, goal line situations. I watched this man excel at everything a runningback could do, all other great rb fell short in one area or another.
#22 I loved watching Emmitt. You see, some running backs are really good. Others are great, but Emmitt was exceptional. He just found holes and went into warp. The man was epic. His tenacity, both as a running back and a team player, is what defined him. He can definitely run, but he can take down players three times his size in order to make things happen. I remember one game in which it appeared he was stopped. I mean there must've been like a dozen guys around him and than all of the sudden he exploded out of the melee and went over 50 yards for a touch down. That was Emmitt. He just kept going and going and going until every guy on defense, knew for sure he was completely down. Privately, Emmitt is a super nice guy. Very intelligent and a great friend to all. I know there have been allot of good or great running backs, but Emmitt, in my personal opinion, was the most exceptional running back in NFL history. Certainly his stats bare that out. Even in high school, he could run. Then as a NCAA player. Once the Cowboys got ahold of him, the rest was history. The big three...... Aikman Emmitt Irvin They were by no means the whole team, but most people would agree, during the years these three played, the Dallas Cowboys were on top consistently and constantly. #8 #88 #22 Cowboys Forever.......🏈 KB
Bradley Carroll When I think about Emmitt playing the Eagles, I think of number 21 from the Eagles always chasing Emmitt on long runs to the endzone. Lol
What's a shame is the Eagles had some real quality teams in this same time frame. Unfortunately for them, the Cowboys were just an unbelievable machine of a football team!
@@cdr861532 They will justify it saying it was all the O line. He truly was the textbook example of "consistency" if he was healthy his first year in Arizona the man would've had an entire career (15 years) of over 900 yards a season. That's just MIND BOGGLING!
Emmitt was able to last as long as he did because he avoided taking huge hits for most of his career. His dodgy, slippery style meant that even when tackled, it often wasn't with the full brunt of the defender's force. Every hit adds up.
Mark Schlingloff nope 3rd pick in 04. I’m a pretty die hard cardinals fan, so I know. He has also caught a pass from 21 different quarterbacks. (Old record being 13 in the 1950s)
That's my running back, sniff. Smiled the whole time for the sweet memories. That run against Atlanta was his signature run. How sweet it was. Zeke could have had a similar signature run if he could have kept his feet after completely jumping over the last Eagles defender between him and the end zone. But the turf monster got him. Damn!
OMG reliving the glory. LOOOONG time Cowboys fan, and I always watch Super Bowl videos from the past leading up to the Super Bowl, and to see this video and Troy Aikman's, dang, those were the good ol days. So many greats on those teams. Dak Prescott needs to watch these.
All time best Body control, Vision, and leverage. Pass protector. Love you Emmitt, I had your exact run against the Falcons when I was in high school, but I added a Terrell Davis spin. Most dependable cowboy to ever live.
Emmitt Smith was the perfect rb imo. Watched his entire career and was my hero growing up. There is no wasted motion whatsoever. He could block run with power, and speed and balance. Best vision of any rb ever. Probably the smartest rb ever. Incredibly driven. He basically predicted that he would play at the rose bowl and win a superbowl and break the all time rushing record. Rarely took a huge hit. Was healthy all the time. People always say his line. Some important things people forget is Emmitt used to buy things for his line and they had no pro bowlers before he got there. They had 5 after he did and it was the same line.Smith held out they started off 0-2. They couldn't run when he was out. He came back and they won the superbowl. Always took the correct angles. Would lead drives. If I need a first down or a touch down there is no other player I'd rather have outside of maybe Tom Brady. He is the 2nd greatest player in nfl history imo. Jerry Rice is third. There is no way any of those teams would have won all those superbowls without them. Jim Brown was a huge phsycial specimen but he never won a superbowl. Emmitt surpoassed Payton and outlasted Barry Sanders in the long run. He would always come up the biggest in the biggest games too.
Legendary. There was always talk of a great O line, but watch the reels and you see Smith make yards when his lane collapsed time and time again. His patience was superb and you can see his moves were efficient even in a traffic jam. Where Barry Sanders danced, Smith shuffled and that's where his patience rewarded him with openings and he kept moving downhill.
I love how your dating the reels. Really bringing me some nostalgia here. I remember watching every play. I’ve been a fan of Emmit since he was at UF. Keep up the good work!
If i started an NFL team.... after i get my linemen.... im getting Emmitt Smith. Hands down. He can run, he can block(pass protect), has perfect vision and he can catch the ball out of the backfield. I watched his entire career... extremely durable and will last all 16 games and the post season
He was excellent at protecting Aikman too. He took down so many blitzing safetys and linebackers you could probably make a highlight reel of just his blocks. And he was rarely injured. Never was a distraction to his team, on or off the field. He's a rb that lived up to his hype as a First Round pick.
I hated Emmitt when he played and that was just because he played for the Cowboys. Now looking back, I appreciate him as a person and athlete. No matter who he played for, he busted his ass and made himself a great player.
Sanders was a better pure runner than Smith, but Barry couldn't hold a candle to Emmitt as a football player. Smith was a better receiver, a better goal line runner, and one of the best pass protecting running backs in NFL history. Outside of Franco Harris, Emmitt was also the best post-season running back in NFL history.
@Black Raider i disagree i hate the cowboys so I'm not being bias. But emmitt ran that offense. Some games against great defense when cowboys couldn't run or pass. Like the giants emmitt carried them Barry couldn't cause he only ran he was like jim brown he couldn't pass block he couldn't catch out the backfield or get tough yards against a strong front 7. And lowkey emmitt had the best accelertion I've ever seen he had low gravity just like Barry strong just like Barry and would go north and south Barry didn't. Emmitt might have made Detroit better. Only dude i seen I'd take over emmitt is sweetness.
@Black Raider the o line thing is great but could Barry pass block let's be honest. Did aikman retire early cause concussions where did i lie. I'm going to leave emmitt out do you think the 85 bears would win the superbowl with Barry Sanders and not Walter Payton. I doubt it. Sweetness was the offense and he did dirty work like emmitt. Barry wasn't the only back that did this bullshit jim brown did also he was successful so maybe Barry does get his shit off it's hypothetical but me as a steelers guy who enjoys pure football i like a complete football player at rb like franco Harris who had the most all purpose yards till LT.
The smallest slowest RB. EMMIT SMITH could turn on a dime because of his vision. Powerfull tuff lower center of gravity. He was a pure running back that could do everything. 💯 % pure football player. The best running back of all time Emmitt Smith 22 and you still haven't caught him!
Sans Walter Payton, no RB in history holds a candle to Emmitt Smith as a complete football player. Smith is not only the NFL's all-time leading rusher, he was a terrific receiver, a monster in the red zone, and a stud in picking up the blitz. Sans Franco Harris, Smith is also the greatest post-season running back in history.
Agreed. He was just such a complete football player just as Payton was. I'd say the closest to those two as far as being a complete running back is Ladanlian Tomlinson, who like Emmit, tried to model his game after Walter Payton.
I know he ran behind the greatest o line ever but he still ran the ball past the o line and he is the all time leader in rushing yards. Put some respect on this mans name.
Lol all of them were undrafted expect Erik Williams I wish people stop bringing up line because ain't that what the offensive lineman supposed to do block and open up lanes for the running back
Miss you very much the greatest running back of all time thanks for the great memories should have been a four peat you has so much heart and desire God bless you and your family for you and all those cowboys how bout those cowboys thank you Emmitt I wore your shirt proudly
I remember watching Smith play high school ball in Pensacola fl. The old saying "A Man playing amongst boys" is just one example of what we witnessed. Edit: if you could find some high school footage that would be incredibly interesting to watch. 👍
His vision is what truly made emmitt great, He never second guessed nor hesistated when he seen his hole. Btw. That's not me saying that's all that made him great. He was so physically gifted, athletic. The balance, the speed, he was very patient with his bursts.
@@lancefloray6930 I would've said aikman or staubach but many put Romo as the greatest due to the amount of franchise records he owns. It's crazy I know
"Mr. Consistent" is the perfect name for Mr. Smith. Barry Sanders, while being more flashy and having gaudier stats, also had more negative plays than any running back in history. Barry would often get stopped for short or negative yardage then break a Houdiniesque 60 yard run. Emmitt was an excellent receiver and, while not as flashy, would get the first downs and goal line touchdowns when needed - making him more dependable in the final analysis. He and Walter Payton were the most complete backs in the history of the game.
ABSOLUTELY! While Barry Sanders was one of the best running backs in the history of mankind, he didn't even START to compare to the best two running backs of all time, Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton. It is not an accident that those two men are #1 and #2 in lifetime rushing yards. BTW, I also love the fact that both could run directly at any of the 120 best linebackers or safeties on Earth (both at each position on every team in the league, IOW), and as they went past the guy that had only been hired for his ability to make tackles, he had not laid a finger on them. edit: In my book, Barry Sanders would be ranked #3 in the last 40ish years.
Not to mention Barry Sanders disappeared in the playoffs outside of one big game. 64.3 playoff YPC with linemen such as Bill Fralic, Kevin Glover and Lomas Brown, so the o-line excuse doesn't work here. Emmitt? 93.3 playoff YPC. It isn't even close. When the game's on the line, Emmitt's your man.
No, that's simply not true. Barry ran a spread formation because they simply did not have the blocking good enough to run a power I formation, like Emmitt. When you run a spread formation, you run a lot of draws, delayed handoffs and shotgun formation runs and when those fail, you're going to lose some yards, regardless of the running back. Where a power I formation is just going to get back to the line of scrimmage, 90% of the time. Barry's rookie season had 1500 yards and his longest run was only 34 yards. Next year 1300+ and only 42 yards. 1996 he had 1550+ and only 54 yards. 2K season and *ONE* run over 55 yards. Those numbers simply don't add up to what you're saying. Barry went in holes and followed blocking like any running back.
@@dibslin985 .....did you just brag that Barry had BOB FRALIC? He was waaaaay past his prime by 93 and retired the next season. You really don't know anything if you brag about Kevin Glover. The guy was notoriously pathetic in the post season, while Emmitt had Erik Williams, who was an absolute *GOD* in the playoffs. Lomas Brown wasn't much better. Meanwhile, Emmitt had Erik Williams, Nate Newton, Mark Stepnoski, Mark Tuinei and Larry Allen, with his *WORST* linemen being Kevin Gogan and John Gesek, 2 very good, borderline probowl linemen. Emmitt had more help than any player, ever.
Emmit's leg strength is underrated. One of my favorite things to watch was when guys would try and tackle him high he would grab their hand and move it down to his legs.

Barry is not the GOAT, that’s a common misconception.
Cowboys Record in 1987: 7-8
Cowboys record in 1988: 3-13
Cowboys Record in 1989: 1-15
(All of Emmitt’s So Called Great O linemen were apart of those 3 seasons)
Cowboys Record: 1990 (Emmitt’s first year) 7-9
People use offensive line as an excuse. Is Tom Brady not the GOAT because he threw to Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman? Is Jerry Rice not the GOAT because Joe Montana was his quarterback? Is Ed Reed not the GOAT because Ray Lewis was in the middle of the field? Is Larry Allen not the GOAT because of Erik Williams, Ray Donaldson, Nate Newton, and Mark Tuinei? Please Emmitt Smith made that line not the other way around, as soon as they had someone to block for they were the best unit in football. Best Offensive line and best running back.
Emmitt Smith is the GOAT and it’s not close. Nobody is saying the line doesn’t deserve credit but not ALL the credit for his success.
Edit:
1. Walter
2. Emmitt
3. Barry
@@isaaxvalid not only that, but there's nobody on the line higher than a 3rd round pick... Emmitt had better vision, balance, blocking, durability, longevity, and receiving skills than Barry... Plus All the records...
@@HumpD624 hahaha! Does it hurt to see the great one in a Cowboys uniform? 😂 fuckin 🐐 boy!
Telamon Bro your like 2 months late, catch up.
Emmitt is not the GOAT. Goats get eaten. Emmitt was and still is a Lion. Let no one tell you different.
Remember too, teams came in the game, priority #1 stop Emmitt Smith. His endurance, his vision, ability to avoid big hits, 2nd to none.
Idc 🤷🏿♂️ what anyone say Barry is better
Let’s also not forget that Jerry Rice cheated as well.
God bless you bro it’s gonna be Alr man
Erik Williams was a great lineman.
Don’t forget Moose Johnson taking/shielding a good deal of punishment from linebackers for Emmitt.
It wasn’t just the O-line.
At any given time, Emmitt had a wall of 1,500-1,900 pounds of manhood clearing the way for him.
I met him in Vegas and got many pictures and his autograph on a Jersey. One of the best moments of my life.
Well if that was the best moment, that's pretty sad then...

One of the best to ever do it
The debate about who's the better RB Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders is literally choosing either apples or oranges you can't go wrong with either one
@zeroinfinityzero I wasn't old enough to really watch walter payton my era barry Sanders and emmitt smith but i wouldn't be mad if people said that Walter is better than emmitt though
Hector Rodriguez Smith had 3
Barry was better
ONLY SOME WHO NEVER SEEN THEM PLAY WOULD EVER SAY DUMB SHIT LIKE THIS!!!!
I like apples so I would choose Emmitt Smith
I’m a Dolphins fan through and through, but I’ve always loved watching Emmitt Smith.
Yes sir!! The greatest RB in history! His rushing record will never be touched. Specially with the new passing offenses in today’s NFL.
Thank You for the Sweet Memories from the 'Glory Years'!!
Period.
Emmitt goal in life was to break the rushing yards record and he did.
His performance against the Giants (I'm a Giants fan) was beyond unbelievable
Emmitt Smith was consistent and get the points when it matters. E. Elliott on the other hand just a good RB but lacks the mental drive.
Great time for a cowboys fan. Painful time for us 49er fans. Emmitt was great , I haven't seen anything great about Zeke so far
Emmitt smith pure heart n guys my favorite player of all time that's how I became cowboys fan #22❤️🙌🙌
I have never seen a more courageous player than Emmit, that Giants game has me in awe to this day
No one could ever fill emmits sweet moves he's truly one of the greats beeb a Dallas cowboys fan since I was seven years old now 51 emmit Smith an Walter Payton are true icons
Eric Dickerson
A lot of games he actually went into halftime with like 25 or 30 yards, but the point was that they would run him over and over and make the defense tired and next thing you know he's gashing the defense for big gains and the cowboys own the clock in the 2nd half.
Agreed
@@piercex3834 as great as Eric was he too often disappeared in crucial playoff games or he fumbled. The Rams didn’t win.
Smith won the championships. He was very consistent and never seemed to have a bad game when it counted.
Making it look easy is a sign of greatness
Smith was the best in his prime compared to other backs. Everyone always talks about how Sanders could move and cut. Smith don't get enough credit for the moves he could make.
Smith was a juke master
Jay Please dont ever say some stupid shir like that again

No. Those linemen made Emmitt HOF.
Yes, that offensive line was special for many, many years.
@@redmustangredmustangpackers were nothing. Dallas even beat them in 96 on FG’s. The balance of power was never taken by GB cause they won cause of Dallas’ 96 injuries. 97 they flopped so bad- not even close to a team worth talking about.

Ah yeah!! You said it best… Oh, the nostalgia!!
As a long time fan, I didn’t realize how I’d been spoiled by Dorsett first and then Emmitt.

As a cowboys fan since 89 emmitt smith is the greatest all around runningback ever, he could do it all, blocking, running, receiving, short yardage situations, goal line situations. I watched this man excel at everything a runningback could do, all other great rb fell short in one area or another.
#22
I loved watching Emmitt.
Aikman
Emmitt
Irvin
They were by no means the whole team, but most people would agree, during the years these three played, the Dallas Cowboys were on top consistently and constantly.

Bradley Carroll I would say Barry sanders, then Walter Payton are better
Tod Wilkinson didnt win a super bowl like 2017 eagles did
Bradley Carroll When I think about Emmitt playing the Eagles, I think of number 21 from the Eagles always chasing Emmitt on long runs to the endzone. Lol
What's a shame is the Eagles had some real quality teams in this same time frame. Unfortunately for them, the Cowboys were just an unbelievable machine of a football team!
A GAME EVEN THE RECENT SB CHAMP NY GIANTS COULD NOT STOP THIS MAN

Emmitt was able to last as long as he did because he avoided taking huge hits for most of his career. His dodgy, slippery style meant that even when tackled, it often wasn't with the full brunt of the defender's force. Every hit adds up.
This is a very overlooked detail. Its comical how people just dismiss Smith, saying their grandma could get yards behind that line.
It takes looking back to see how brilliant Emmett was with his runs! He's oftentimes underrated

Haters say he was All oline...they only do tht to discredit his accomplishments ..mainly becomes he wore the Star on his Helmet...
Correct!
Congratulations 22 Emmitt Smith you deserve it
Emmitt Smith the GOAT Cowboy hands down.
Boy, it was fun being a Dallas Cowboy fan during those years of 1992-1995. They were so good.
I shed tears of joy now watching him break the all time rushing record, just like I did back then watching it live on tv.
He's a rb that lived up to his hype as a First Round pick.
i loved watching this guy play plus he was on my favorite team
Speed, agility, Frickin strength. He is a legend fr
I hated Emmitt when he played and that was just because he played for the Cowboys. Now looking back, I appreciate him as a person and athlete. No matter who he played for, he busted his ass and made himself a great player.

Bring tears to my eyes. E.Smith was absolutely amazing! The Dallas Cowboys were unstoppable back then.
I've followed this guy since his Gator days. Love some Cowboy highlights. That line, Moose, and Smith were something special. Seemed unbeatable.
Give Barry the Cowboys Oline and you'll be singing a different song. Barry is still a better RB than Emmitt. Even Emmitt knows that
@Black Raider i disagree i hate the cowboys so I'm not being bias.
@Black Raider i love Barry and i get it cowboys had a great team. Especially after seeing stafford get a ring with LA I could be wrong
@Black Raider Barry Sanders my opinion greatest college running back all time
@Black Raider the o line thing is great but could Barry pass block let's be honest.
The Giants game made me an Emmitt Smith and a Dallas Cowboys fan for life. They let me down every year, but these were the glory days. Good memories.

Oliver McCall What about him
Dak isn't even close yet, but has the Heart to become one.
@@markschlingloff5155 if he can win a ring or two? Dak will definitely take over Romo as the greatest Cowboy QB ever
@@FreshPrincex4 Romo?? LMAO
@@lancefloray6930 I would've said aikman or staubach but many put Romo as the greatest due to the amount of franchise records he owns. It's crazy I know
Favorite ALL TIME RB, just a beautiful thing to watch!!!! GO COWBOYS!!!!
TheOriginalMyocardia Barry is a way better runner than smith
Barry went in holes and followed blocking like any running back.

.....did you just brag that Barry had BOB FRALIC?
The Oline had the greatest RB to block for ,he had mad vision and mad ditication not like other great RB,J.Brown hollywood,Sanders, retired,Dickerson thought he didnt need OlineEmmitt is the Goat 4sure.
There were so many teams that just couldn't keep Emmitt out of the endzone and from racking up those yards. Those were great years. 🏈😎👍
