Working in a classroom in England and here in the states, I had the privilege to watch children raise monarchs too! The cool thing is, the children would talk to them everyday, through every cycle. When the day came to release them. Many wouldn't let go of the child or land back on them. It was like they thought them as their mother. The next day, you could still see a few flying around and some would land on the children again, as if to say hello. So cool. I will never forget these experiences.
My first encounter with a Monarch Butterfly is when I was just a 3 or 4 year old. The family was sitting at the dinner table eating, window was open and a huge on flew in and landed on my brother's head. It stayed there for the longest of time. It was long enough for my father to get the 8mm camera and film about another 2-3 minutes of it sitting still on his head. It the flew straight out the window. 2 years later he past at the age of seven and now when ever I see one I think of that time and it still brings joy to my heart ❤ 💙 💜
Very enjoyable, informative and inspiring video ! ..everyone that can should mantain a butterfly garden. In fact every city park should have one. There is your real "green new deal" for ya !

What a wonderful project. And fun and beautiful as well! You guys taught me much about Monarchs, and I plant to raise a Butterfly garden in the spring! Thank you!
Glad to see someone saving the Monarch Butterflies because they will soon become extinct, according to the experts. I live in Missouri and haven't seen one in 2 years. When I was a kid, over 60 yrs. ago, that's all you saw!
Growing up in Minnesota, in the 60s I couldn't imagine the problems to come as they were everywhere. Thanks for the education and care for an old friend.
Thank you for the respect you pay even to the smallest of life. And Cypress is growing like a weed! Speaking of weed, we’d enjoy watching Jay feed Cypress dinner sometime. Certainly he’s eating jar food now!!
I remember migrating monarch butterflies in my younger years. But I regret that I haven't seen them in the last several decades. I also miss the Scarlet winged blackbirds.
Those are beautiful butterflies. Baby C had such adorable smile while releasing them. He was amazed at it. I love watching you all. And God Bless you and your family sir.🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊😊😊
I don't know anything about butterflies like you two do, but I remember seeing one once that had blue in its wings. I like the Monarchs, but I thought that one with the blue was even prettier. Love seeing you doing things with the little guy. Have a great day.
A few years ago, some kind of weather issue put them off their route (some of them) they ended up around Edmonton Alberta. People were so excited, milkweed was the topic of the day, this one little creature brought about a huge awareness. I actually watched one outside the office window and saw my very first Monarch! Smiled for the rest of the day.
Wow baby "C" is sooo darn cute lol And Cole very very well explained about the monarch butterfly!! My wife and i are moving to a new house soon and i can't wait to plant a butterfly garden there!!
My daughter and I were on vacation in Perdido Key/Pensacola during the Monarch migration in Sept/Oct, 2011 or 2012. It was so beautiful! At times you felt as though you didn't want to open your mouth because there were so many.
Well I don’t think I have ever watched a bad video. You guys do the best at everything you go at, who would ever think about raising butterflies and the way you incorporate the whole family. Jay, you are as pretty as ever and Cypress was so attentive to what you were doing and you got some fantastic videos to show him some day. Cole you are the same ole Cole, great job my friend. God bless your family and keep you safe. Your friend, Wallace
Today I really saw a monarch butterfly and a bird eat it while it was flying but luckily I had more of them and I let them go in a field I'm also planting milkweed and nectar in flowers for Monarch butterflies to continue their life cycle and I always watch your videos I am a fan
I did it this year also, counted twenty cocoons or chryetylists or whatever, great camera and explanation of the monarchs plight. Jay and baby C are adorable, reminds me of when my kids were baby’s! Thank you ! Putting in my favorite vids for sure
Really enjoyed this video! You guys are awesome! 😭 the world needs more people like ya'll. I'm terrified of both caterpillars and butterflies 😬 but they are beautiful creatures.
I have only been a huge huge fan of cole and jay for only 4 weeks now,,But it doesnt take a long time to fall in love with this family and their videos, Little cypress just grinned so big a couple times while releasing the beautiful butterflys.Im a nature lover and I have learned things I never knew, at the ripe young age of 67 lol, But what time of year can you first see the caterpillars,I live in NE TN and ive never seen the caterpillars here, every now and again I will see a butterfly, I want to begin helping you all build this butterfly population again,,please can you help me,Love you all and your fantastic videos, keep them coming
The first memory that I have about an insect is that of a Preying Mantis. I was probably about 2 years old. It was on a cider block (our steps). I was scared to death of it and started bawling and screaming. My big brother was 3 and tried to put it on me. Nope, nope nope!!! Mom had to catch me and calm me down. When I was in my teen years, I'd bait Mom's hooks with hellgrammites and crawdads when we were river fishing.
So gorgeous. Butterflies 🦋 hatched how cool. Way to go Cypress Such a cutie .what awesome pics.. God bless you all.
