Thank you for showing this. I now understand why they charged alot to replace one when I took mine in. Thank you again for taking the time out to show this. And doing it all nicely--showing, talking, explaining--while handling the phone with 1 hand :)
LOL. I'm glad you noticed. People seem to like the 'hold the phone with one hand' so I can get a good picture strategy. Glad it was enjoyable for you :)
Thanks a lot @PNV Rivera! I'll eventually make some more videos with the Juke. My friend who owns it moved out of the country. But I believe he will be splitting time here and out of the country. And need the occasional maintenance.
This was great! Also liked that you listed all the tools you would need in the description. My only suggestion would be to put your phone on a tripod while you're working on the vehicle so its easier to watch as a whole. Would also be great if you listed timestamps in the description so we can click forward to specific parts of the repair. Thanks much!
Dude awesome video.. this is better than some of the guy's who have camera's and someone to hold it for them.. I have the Juke AWD SL, Basically the same care and color.. Excellent one handed job..
Thank you so much for the awesome responses. I wish I had better equipment. But this went better than originally expected and I appreciate you noticing!
Just did my Plugs.. It's really not as bad to do as people think If you can take it apart enough to do the plugs, it's just a small step further to do the valve cover gasket.. Nice vid..
great video bud! i was having misfires and i found out 2 cylinders where the spark plugs are where full of oil :/ gonna change the gasket today. THANKS
I am actually doing this today 1-17-25. Did it exactly the same. 2013 Juke SL. The hardest part is taking it all apart. Guys sorry for not recording it I really wanted to but time was the major factor why I didn’t. Would have been awesome though.
Thanks for the video it's very helpful. Also I have to replace a cv boot on passenger side rear axle 2012 Nissan juke awd if you have a video it would be great. Thanks again much appreciated
It looks like a straight forward job, but is time consuming because all the bits are needed to be removed out of the way to gain access to the gasket valve cover. I had a look at my 2013 Nissan Juke 1.6 and found there were several oil leaks around the gasket cover. Would these oil leaks dripple down onto the driveway from higher level while the car is parked overnight?
It depends on how bad the leak is. Most valve cover gasket leaks don't leak onto the floor because of how high up they are. They have to run down so many other components before it would hit the floor. But eventually a valve cover gasket leak if left alone will eventually leak onto the floor. It will also consume oil. So definitely be checking the oil regularly. As you said this valve cover gasket is hidden behind a lot of components. So when that particular valve cover gasket leaks it looks like a lot of other stuff could be leaking because it's leaking onto it. Pretty common for the valve cover gasket to start leaking once the car gets to higher mileage
This was so easy to follow! I got it all done and took a test drive. It would not go above 2400 rpm. I came back home and noticed the throttle body intake ( big black air boot ) at the throttle body I hadnt tightened down the clamp. Also at the other end of that same boot I hadn’t tightened down the clamp. It was also really hot in the upper radiator hose, and I only drove it 4 miles. Any ideas? Anyone? Buehler?
Well. I got the codes read and they all had to do with air. So I figure after tightening the two clamps I’m fine. Rpms wherever I want them and everything. So again, thank you for posting this. The juke in your video is even the same color as my son’s !
Didnt realize how easy the juke was to work on! This would have been a weekend or 2 job on my audi a6 Haha. So I just changed my plugs on the juke and found a bit of oil on a single plug, do you think changing the valve cover gasket should fix that issue?
Yes. That is more than likely happening because the spark plug seals leak a little bit over time. If the leak is very apparent. It might be time to change the valve cover gasket. The valve cover gasket has the spark plug seals attached to it. It's all one big seal. Could also check the back of the valve cover near the exhaust heat shield to see if the outer portion of the valve cover gasket is leaking. It usually leaks at the corners in the back of the valve cover
This was years ago. I don't remember the exact times. But if you are only doing 1 side you should be able to do it in under 2 hours if you are a professional. Something like 1.5 hours
@@sherrodford955 Sorry I thought this was the axel replacement video. But the times are similar. Probably 1.5 - 2 hours if you are a professional. There's a lot of BS in the way. But it looks worse than it really is. 15 minutes alone goes to peeling and cleaning once the valve cover gasket comes out. And applying sealant. Slightly above average gasket replacement. Just a bunch of junk in the way

Modern cars are putting more components in less amounts of space. And that can cause maintenance head aches. Nissan isn't too bad. They aren't Toyota or Honda (which are their direct competitors). But they do have the occasional awkwardness in design.
😂😂😂😂 like 47 moves ago you were like “there thats it. All you guta do. Lmao. Not on a Juke son. Its a total a$$hole job comparatively. My small block chevy I could change both ( 8 cylinder)gaskets in under 4 mins. 4t bolts on each side. Studded heads. You could take the valve covers off 400 times in a day n you wouldn’t even get mad. Lol
Just swapped a junkyard engine into my 2014 took only 3 days, runs like a top, but needs a valve cover gasket, thank you sir

Another solid job! Keep making more good videos with the Juke! It’s great following along maintaining my wife’s Juke.
Thanks a lot @PNV Rivera!
I'll eventually make some more videos with the Juke. My friend who owns it moved out of the country. But I believe he will be splitting time here and out of the country. And need the occasional maintenance.
Thanks alot man very well explained and saved my some money by nit having to get it done by a mechanic

Hey good luck with the job!
I hope this helps you out!
Did it help solve your issue?
My God. I'm never gonna remember all that shit. Great job!
Just take a pic before you disassemble
Excellent job, friend. What's your explanation in detail I was able to fix and find out my situation thank you very much
I appreciate this video...I was a lil skeptical bout doing it myself because it looked a lil intimidating for I have never worked on a turbo engine
Thank you, bro. Ill be doing this job next weekend. Blessings
Thank you very much. You explained everything well and it was super helpful!
No problem!
I'm glad it was of help to you :)
very well done, thanks for the video. Do you have vids for replacing timing chain or belt tensioner. will be very interesting subject for DYI guys

Great video! I think I'll have to disconnect that coolant hose, it seems that the previous owner replaced it with a shorter one. Any tips? Thanks.

i forgot the same two clamps when I started it up. It ran rough and that hose was hot. Clamped them back down and all was good.
Thanks man awesome walkthrough

How can you tell when you need to replace the valve?
When you have oil in your spark plug tube lol. But it’s great to change it at 120k miles i would say. Mines gave out at 200k so early is better 👌
Torque?

Why Nissan making engine like this too hard to maintain..
