Most underrated entertainer of the 60’s. Love hearing these songs again.....takes me right back to my youth
Agree I'm 25 and I love listening to these with my nan.
Well said !
I never realised what an excellent guitarist Joe Brown is until last week (10/03/2024
On the hit record itself, , my late departed cousin Mike who passed away early this year, played the drums on that song,
It was played at his funeral. Both lived in canningtown.
Am not far from there !
A national treasure 🇬🇧
Why do we love Joe so much - Cos he's simply Joe. No heirs nor graces a straightforward Bloke and Cracking Entertainer!!! Keep it up Bruver.
A genuine man with genuine talent, his music has been in my life or at least in the background forever!
On on ?iu
Aww, that was lovely. One of the most beautiful love songs ever beautifully sung by the ever charasmatic Joe Brown.
A brilliant performer with his brilliant group. I play this song regularly & never tire of it
I REMEMBER buying this record in 1962 in london, then years went by,and i forgot the title of the song...but finally i remembered....great performer, you and your band
A great entertainer, always was, always will be, and NO snottyness either, he's one of the crowd and they love him for it.
Ron Lake was 77
they played this at butlins last weekend20/1/2017 and a great artist and should be well recognised, good on you joe
I simply put this man up at the top with ALL the greats..Brilliant performer, guitarist, and a downright lovely human man. C'mon Sam show us what you can do...

One of my favourite performers and one of my favourite records ever. I remember trying to sing this in a school concert. Ha ha. Great video 👍👍
Joe Brown is one of my favorites... yes Sir!!
I’ll love this version more than the original record
Joe is without doubt one of Britain's greatest entertainers.............seen him with a group and in his new show where he is solo....excellent bloke
An authentic legend that has had an enduring influence on ...may long continue to perform
Still remember great show - sat through it twice - Butlins - with Shep Wooley supporting. 70's. Joe Brown is marvellous.
Joe is a national treasure
one of the great survivors ...
I FIRST SAW JOE BROWN LIVE WHEN HE PERFORMED IN SYDNEY AUSTRALIA, BACK IN THE VERY EARLY 1970s....I WOULD AND IME SURE THOUSANDS OF HIS FANS OUT HERE WOULD PAY ANYTHING TO SEE HIM OUT HERE. ( one more time) Hey joe if you read this how about coming to Melbourne Crown Casino ......we love ya

A national treasure is our joe.nice one bruv.x
Ive been lucky to have seen Joe live on many occasions1962 up to last year 2014, still as good as ever.
One performance sticks out in my memory, 1980 Winter Gardens in my home town of Margate
Such a genuine down to earth character both on and off the stage, time and words for everybody.
No pretence just simple 100% true likeability.................
Sorry to bust your bubble GREAT singer entertainer, but NOT born in London and a nasty nasty man in private
Saw him at Nottingham 1963ish loved him Nottingham palais?
Saw him at Regal Ripley Derbyshire 1962 still as good as ever
One of the greatest ,seen him many times live.
That yellow dress you wore
When we went dancing Sunday nights
That smile you give me In the movies when they dimmed the lights
I've tried in vain to wash the memory from my brain I can't forget you
And that's what love will do
That's what love will do
The spins we took together
On my beat-up motorbike
The look your pa would give me
When we got back late at night
I've tried in vain to wash the memory from my brain
I can't forget you
And that's what love will do
That's what love will do
I never see you except now and then
But when I see you
The longing starts all over again (over again)
Put out the candle
And tomorrow it burns bright again
But when I lost you
It could never be put right again
What can I do?
My memory won't let go of you
I can't forget you
And that's…
Great entertainer still is the sixties were a great era in music
I'm going to see him in Halifax (England not Canada) in 2 days 30th April for the 8th time. Awesome talent.

Pure Talent.
I saw him for the first time at the Ardwick Hippodrome, Manchester in 1960. He was on a bill with, would you believe, Eddie Cochrane, Gene Vincent, Billy Fury and Georgie Fame. I was 11 years old and my big brother took me. Think that was probably my first concert.
All great stars

Wife's favourite still going strong
Reminds me of being 16
Did the red guitar change colour?
is he never married again?
Song lyrics aren't necessarily autobiographical though TBF. I mean Bob Marley was never arrested despite his murder confession right? LOL

ABOUT AS INTERESTNG AS WATCHING PAINT DRY
Philip Lawton ....
I bet you are interesting too...
.
Talking about painting, you should brush up on your spelling (INTEREST(I)NG).
You must have great talent to rubbish a professional, what a pity it's so well hidden.
Philip...I worked underground as a coalminer for nearly 30 years...and there were a few like you....cantankerous sods!...one who even said maggie thatcher was a WONDERFUL woman...he could have married her...the first day back to work after the year -long strike of 1984.....noo THAT was cantankerous!!...you just remind me of that guy!
BUT,we all have our opinions,even if they are big-headed,trash opinions....just saying....heh heh!
Watch a lot of paint drying do you ?
You saddo
Superb entertainer - shame he can't hit the high notes any more!
So sad to hear this out of tune version. Let's listen to the original!
susie4100 Not out of tune! He's not as young any more plus it's a great version.
+susie4100 He wrote this song,dumbass.
+susie4100 Out of tune? Where do you get that from? Its pitch perfect, brilliant for an old boy like Joe
The only things out of tune are your ears.
clean your ears out mate.
