the reason there weren’t any plants for you to harvest is because the game requires you to be on the lot at 5am, which is when the plants spawn. since she came back home at 6am, you had to wait until the next day for plants

Your Glimmer stone in your personal inventory will yeet you straight to the magic realm. Also since they took away the photo hack to gain friendship quickly I've been using social bunny to add people to gain friendship and/or romance quickly. I find Floralorial actually gets rid of the weeds that never disappear and it might be a bit cheeky cheating but if your Sim is overcharged and you can't discharge (because of the cool down) and you're afraid they might die you can shift click on your mailbox to fill your household needs and it will discharge your spell castor. I'm so hyped for your novel and I can't wait to read it.

The biggest validation ever has been Kelsey actually using the repario tip I wrote two weeks ago. I feel so accomplished.. from my years of watching sims4 gameplays.
Okay, hear me out! Frederick is actually the witch hunter that Gabriel warns her about at the bar, the other guy is a completely different witch hunter that’s more of a decoy because everyone suspects him, so they pay no mind to Frederick. The reason he left was because he was trying to suss out witches, gathered his findings, and left. Later on down the line, we have a very Han and Anna moment where he betrays her, and Briar has to find a way to put an end to his hunting while also trying to figure out who he’s working for. Unfortunately, he’s about to get the best of her and take her in for execution, when Gabriel bursts in and rescues her, before finally confessing his love for her.
Think a scene like this:
Briar avoided Frederick’s sword just in time as it lashed out, throwing a freezing spell at him, making him shake so hard for a moment that he almost dropped his sword. “Who do you work for?” she shouted. “Who sent you?”
“You’ll see soon enough,” he said with a wicked grin once the shivering had subsided. He lunged forward and Briar threw her hands up to stop him, but the spell sputtered out, and he grabbed her arms, pinning her wrists so she couldn’t use her magic even if she hadn’t been overcharged.
He began to drag her towards the back door, where Briar was sure he must have some sort of rope stored to tie her hands together so she could no longer use her magic.
It was at that moment, however, that the front door burst open, and Gabriel Greengrass stood framed by the sunset, eyes tinged red and hands swirling with water.
“Get your hands off her,” he growled. He sent a wave of it to surround Frederick’s head, suffocating him. He held him there until he passed out, then drew the water back to himself before rushing to Briar’s side, where she had collapsed alongside Frederick.
“Are you all right? Please tell me he didn’t hurt you.” At Briar’s confirmation that she was okay, he said, “I’m so sorry I wasn’t here to help keep you safe. It’ll never happen again, I swear it. I love you. I always have.”

Since the Update That Broke Everything" I've noticed the Sages in the Magical Realm won't teach you, even if you have a high relationship. Have Briar practice magic on her own and experiment on a cauldron. She can still reach the top level.

SHE NEEDS TO DATE THE WITCH HUNTER LIKE SERPENT AND DOVE
When building with/around mature plants, here's a couple of things that make life easier:
-- plants that are in season can be temporarily moved outside and won't die back
-- plants that aren't in season can be temporarily moved to planters in a different room (but planters cost money and don't always suit the aesthetic). Trees are finicky about this since they require a certain ceiling height, but all other plants can be thrown indoors wherever until the greenhouse is done. If you put them in the household inventory and take them back out (as you prob already know), you will likely have to wait for them to mature again.
-- you can tell if a plant is in season by hovering over it in build (or live) mode, but you have to be on the same floor as the plant for the tooltip to show up.
-- always harvest *all* the plants you're going to move before moving them, or the game will likely do it for you and throw 83,329 grapes and sage in your household inventory. This is fine if you're going to sell them, but if you're not you'll have to drag them out one. by. one. and it's crazy-making.
-- you can build a greenhouse room and then remove the floor, which you probably already know.
-- you might be able to shift-click on a plant and set its status to 'mature' but a) that might require testingcheats to be on (I dunno, I have them on by default with MCCC) or b) that could be from one of my zillion bug-fix/QoL mods.
I'm a terrible gardener in real life, but it's the one skill pretty much all my sims always get. 😁
the glimmerstone every spellcaster gets in their inventory takes you instantly to the magic realm. if you lose it, you can get another one from one of the sages.
sometimes the sages say they cant teach you more magic, but if you ask again they should teach again. there are two versions of that: the first is a bug (i think), the other is where you've already learned all the spells/potions for your rank so you have to rank up to learn more. the pop up for the second one will say that, though.
if the sages keep saying know, try having them train you in magic(different from learning a spell or potion directly). it'll get you more exp to rank up.
your plants might not have grown because you were off the lot in the magic realm. i think as long as you get back home by 5 am they should have harvestables.
you can sell the tomes of spells you already know - some of them are worth quite a bit, especially as you rank up.
you can copypasto your potions too! never-ending plentiful needs potions! never sleep or eat again!
for the weeding bug (ha), cheat them weed-free then once the weeds re-grow (will happen immediately) weed them normally and they should stay gone.
it took me ages to realize what L Faba's name meant rofl i was always wondering "what the heck does the L stand for???"

You can fasttravel to the magic realm by clicking on the magic crystal in your sims inventory. 😂
Are your plants facing out from the wall? If the arrow is pointing toward the wall, I'm pretty sure she can't reach them. Also, the way I've been fixing the weeding issue is just shift clicking to set the weed state to mulched lmao
Fast travel to glimmer brook. Use stone in your inventory. Later on you can also get a spell that will teleport you there.

You can size down the portal arch by one and place it in your castle Reno for fast travel. I like to stick it in a walkin closet, for my sims.

I've never played any other game that was repeatedly broken more and more by its own creators and left in such increasing disrepair. It's just getting ridiculous to the point where I have zero belief that they'll fix any of it. Shame on EA.

sometimes the sages tell you that they dont know you well enough yet even tho you do, because you cant learn another spell of that category (mischief, practical, untamed) at the time. at the next rank you will be able to learn another practical spell again.

Maybe after the kitchen bumpout you make, you can have the kitchen 1 tile closer but have a secret stairwell behind the kitchen to access the basement with all the witchy stuff.

I think sometimes when the sages won't teach you magic even after a million socials, it's because you already know all the spells of that type for your level, but it doesn't have a different message. If you try practicing the same type of magic on your own, you'll get a notification saying that there's nothing left to learn. That's why the untamed sage worked right away.

If you ever want to complete the greenhouse room, you can draw a wall the same length as the opening pick it up and place in the open spot. I love the way it currently looks though.
The crystal (the glimmerstone) in your inventory that you got from your magic kit will take you to Glimmerbrook immediately. Also, the teachers in the magic realm are just some who can teach you new magic. Anyone who's a master spellcaster can train you (there's no way to check their rank so you'd have to check in the magic section if it's an option.) I'm also pretty sure that once you get past rank 3 of Acolyte for spellcasters, you are no longer a low-ranked spellcaster and can read higher-level tombs.

Even tho the plant weeds are glitching, keep weeding, you can collect different variations of the frogs, some worth more than others, then you can sell them too!!!!

It's a glitch! Whenever you have learned all the spells you can for the day or your level they will say they don't know you well enough to teach you. It's a very annoying glitch. Before one of the updates that broke it, it would say "You learned all that you can for now"
I don't know how late I am to these suggestions for making friends fast, but here's a couple ideas that may or may not be a tad scummy, lol:
1. Add them on the social media app and spam those DM's. Like 15 DM's and they'll be asking you to be their Maid of Honor.
2. Throw parties. Certain parties, I forget exactly which, but parties like the Dinner Party, the House Party, and I think even the Spooky Party (the Halloween stuff pack) will just absolutely BOOST your Charisma through the roof. High Charisma will net you conversational bonuses that will really boost your friendship gain.
3. Have a club with people you want to befriend. Create a club, set some easy club activities- I like to do Socializing with Club Members and then make a bowling club plus a bowling venue with an arcade- and then get a boost to charisma and socials. You'll befriend club members REALLY fast and you can use the club to get skill boosts, as well. MAKE IT A COVEN WAIT OMG, MAKE THE CLUB A MAGE COVEN AND THEN MEET IN YOUR BASEMENT AND GATHER TOGETHER AND WEAR ROBES
4. There are potions that you can eventually learn to make (and copypasto) that will get you friends when you give others that potion, I think, if I remember correctly.
5. There's a reward trait you can buy with reward points that will REALLY make friendships just fly up. I think it's Friendly? I forget.

use the crystal to travel to the magic realm. i just did a rags to witches very similarly! what helped with the weeding bug was learning the spell florioral or something. also you technically dont need to shower if you scruberoo yourself every time and if you get good at potion making that needs potion feels like cheating lol. eventually i was able to get a money fruit from caster's alley and just propagated a bunch of money trees. I also collected splices from my money trees and now i can grow money fruit onto different plants but i know that takes a higher level of gardening!
This series inspired me to start a new sim as a spellcaster! I'm so excited 😊

I recently had a bug where I could only do one thing in build/buy and then I'd have to go into live mode and back into build/buy before being able to do just one more build thing. A game repair did the trick for me but it was SO frustrating because I was streaming while this was happening and I just had to not build anything all stream 😂Hope you figure out what's going on and it is an easy fix, looking forward to next week's ep. 🥰
