I feel like River and Vincent should have problems getting pregnant at first, so they decide to adopt and once they do that’s when she gets pregnant.
Maybe she has a baby with someone else cause she can’t with Vincent 🫢
I was thinking this as well for the reason to adopt
I'd like to see Vincent in the Military career! For the technical side, it's a career you haven't done in this challenge and it uses Vincent's fitness skill so we don't do athlete again. I feel like he might have rushed through high school for River because she's so sure of herself and what she wants to do, but he might be lacking that direction and so he enlists because he feels like it's respectable and a good use of his skills. He's loyal, so maybe he feels a strong sense of duty and responsibility to serve and protect his home. It also opens up the storyline for River to be a military wife and for them to grow distant, which could lead to her cheating.

Oh, that was a brief scare! Maybe he was worried that River was pursuing other goals in life with her rapidly advancing career and so he briefly got cold feet because he was afraid of holding her back. That's why he took heart, shared his clear, deep intentions with her and then made the proposal. He was just a little afraid to take the step since he knows, he wants only the real thing ❤
Maybe because he gets cold feet she feels that he doesn't really love her or she's not good enough for him, and this causes her to stray and have an affair. Unless you have an awful character, often people cheat because they feel that something is lacking or their partner doesn't really want them and they go to seek validation elsewhere.
I definitely think Rivers the type to want an engagement party, wedding rehearsal- the whole nine yards! (Plus I never see simmers do them but I think they're super cute haha!)
Please add a fence to the back garden. That drip off scares me when they finally have children 🤣🤣🤣

Secret agent Vincent! IDK, but something about loyal Vincent having his own secrets is really entertaining. It suits the picture perfect life River wants - a spy can't be noticeable, after all - while maybe his own secrets cause issues. Otherwise, I can absolutely see lawyer.

A good job for Vincent could be the lawyer track. He's always soo busy River ends up cheating. I would say athletic career but we've done that before with Skylar and Amethyst husband.
I don’t know why, but I love the idea of Vincent being a secret agent. Also, I think River should not have the affair until after her first child is born/adopted. Parenting is really tough and even the most loyal couples have marital struggles with all the upheaval. It seems super realistic for it to happen then. I also agree with others that the first child should be adopted and I think another 1 or 2 should be a science baby (like IVF).
Maybe one of the 3 kids is from the affair! One is from her husband, one is from the one night, and the last is adopted!
That should be a rule in the Challenge .it be so funny

Here is a possible story for the affair. Vincent is doing great at his job, and is getting super busy. River's children are growing up and they need her less. River is going through a mid life crisis and is pretty bored, she thinks she is wasting her life away. Then she meets some one. (either a old friend from school or a handsome new co worker.) She has a one time affair, but then vincent plans a romanitic evning for them and river regrets every thing. She cuts ties with the other man and never talks about it again. Oh and I would delete the other guy after the affair so there is no chance of an akward encounter

Maybe Vincent wanted to break up because they are still so young and he wanted to break up and be in his 20s. They are still like 19 in sims terms and that is too young imo to settle down, and the pressure of wanting to propose got to him and then he was like, I just graduated. I don’t even have a job. This is her house, I’m just a roommate really.
Also I kinda like to see him be a teacher or a yoga instructor. I like the idea that he runs a yoga studio out of his house or a veterinarian and has a practice.
Him thinking of breaking up seems like the stepping stone for why River ends up cheating, maybe she sense that indecision or even starts to think he's cheating because of his hot and cold behavior, which leads her to cheating regardless of if he was or not. (I do not support cheating for any reason, it's just for the story!)

Maybe Vincent could be a doctor, working long hours at the hospital and leaving River at home with the kids would very easily set the stage for River to have at least an emotional affair

I know that lot of people think Vincent should be an athlete but I believe that he should go into politics and do the charity organizer branch as like the critics career it's a semi active career from city living pack

I had a Sim with the Loyal trait autonomously cheat and I learned that it unlocks a some special interactions and moodlets to work through the guilt and to strengthen their relationship. It was actually fun game play! Since Vincent has the Loyal trait, it could be interesting if he also had an affair and we would be able to actually see them work through it as a couple. It’s just an idea though and it would be tough because River wouldn’t be able to confess her affair to him😅
Or maybe that’s WHY she has a secret affair? Or the motivation to forgive him after he cheats because she has her own guilt?
When that happened with my Sim, their partner immediately wanted to divorce them when they confessed 😬 I can't remember if she had another trait that made that happen but I don't remember being able to repair the relationship...maybe I just didn't know what to click other than divorcing so it could be a "me problem" and not a game problem, but it could be a risk since Vincent and River are supposed to stay married their whole lives.

I recently learned that loyal sims help other sims get over sadness SO MUCH, my red gen’s sister turned out loyal and when their grandmother died she cheered everyone up in no time!💙❤️

I was thinking, why not the 1st baby to be adopted, her father past away and was adopted by her other father, maybe you can come across some background story... maybe someone leaves the baby at her doorsteps or maybe she wanted to call for adoption so she can feel the same way her father did.

Vincent could go to college for a while (but still living at home, commuter life) on an athletic scholarship pursuing his career of being a professional athlete and River feels like they aren’t on the same page. She’s ready for a family and he’s still in school and the affair happens during his college years while he’s busy with homework, athletics clubs, etc. but they work through it and realize they can have a family and pursue their dream careers. Plus then maybe she’s a famous critic and he’s a famous athlete in the end.
I think the one time secret affair should be a coworker. Like maybe it starts out as innocent flirting at work and a bunch of the coworkers go out after work one night and ....
I feel like River's children color could be black. Since River lived a Gloomy life dealing with death and so on, her children learning about their family having vampires, aliens, and kleptos. I feel like her children would befriend the Goth family and dress in black.
Please make the armchairs blue, I love the bright neutral aesthetic but it’s a little too white😂. As for Vincent, I think he got cold feet and that’s also maybe where her insecurites strem from.
Also since they’re young adults now, I think it’s a good time to update their clothes/hair.
I love that this literally feels like the beginning of a romance movie. The male lead gets cold feet and they drift apart, but by the end they’ll realize they’re truly in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together.
Vincent gives me education vibes. I feel like he just genuinely loves being around kids and watching/helping kids grow and learn. Like, we all saw how he was with River's younger siblings. Plus, being a teacher is pretty much a 24/7 job that allows River to maybe feel a bit neglected in a sense and influences her desire to have the affair

I don't know if it's actually a career option but I think Vincent should be a ski instructor. Like maybe he starts off as an athlete then segues into teacher or personal trainer but we know he is very specifically a ski instructor.
WHAT IF Vincent is having second thoughts because he is kinda questioning his sexuality a bit? Like, River was his only partner ever, maybe he gets attracted to another man and starts thinking that he might actually be gay - of course, he would later figure out he is actually bi and wants to stay with River after all.
Just a random HC since idk if we can control his sexuality to make him like guys, but it would be fun! 👀

I know it’s an absolute HASSLE, but I see Vincent going to university and River’s affair arises from her not getting enough time and attention from him. But Vincent just wants a degree so he can support his family like crazy!! I know they have the funds but I see the narrative of high school sweethearts pushing through that first stage of adulthood with struggle (emotional & financial).

I feel like Vincent should go in the culinary arts field because river is a critic, but River would love cooking together especially with the kids.
You could always take a screenshot of the proposal (from the video) and make a little custom content painting/photo of it! That way, even though you couldn't nab one in game, you can still have one. Alternatively, you could probably download some poses and have them do a lil photoshoot? River *definitely* seems like the type to want a whole engagement photoshoot lol
You should take picture of berry as a puppy and as a dog to have photos of that. Also, I feel like for the plot later on Vincent confesses to river that he almost thought about breaking up with her right before they were got engaged, and when River hears this, She gets really upset and goes and cheats on him.
Since he was a cheerleader and he's athletic it would make since for him to join the athletic career

So I feel like Vincent doubting their relationship and wanting to break up with her could be the reason she has an affair. Hear me out River feels a distance growing between them and as a result thinks he has already had an affair of his own. In a moment of heartbreak and rage, she decides to have an affair of her own only to find that she can't fully commit because no matter the pain Vincent has caused her she can't continue the affair but the fear of losing Vincent altogether makes her hide the incident. As a result, River does everything to show and communicate her love.
I thin Vincent was dreaming about a pool, because they just went to the lounge that had a pool, maybe he wanted to go for a dip with River.
Since Vincent is loyal, maybe he got suspicious about River because she was sorta interested in one of her neighbors and previously with Deshawn… and then River could have her 1 time affair also getting cold feet before she too realized Vincent is the one for her
