I was into modeling and I had to go do, a promotion type thing for Pita, and we had a baby cottontail rabbit. So my son asked me if he could bring it and I said yes! So we bring the baby rabbit over there, and this lady came up and started talking to us about the baby rabbit and how we were taking care of it what my SON fed it. Well, anyway, I didn’t even realize that it was Betty White! And she thought that was just the cutest thing that a little three or four year old boy, was taking care of this baby rabbit
"Dumb Donald" may have been from Toronto. A man there once really did try to hijack a city bus to Cuba - but it was years later (I think at least 20). Another man in Toronto once tried to hijack a subway train to Russia. Neither got very far (well, in the latter case, that's rather obvious, I guess).
RICHARD’s looking directly at Louisa, and there is rabbit, fur, rabbit foot, rabbit, ears, rabbits, Stew, there’s all kind of answers for the rabbit. I don’t know if anybody else has eaten rabbit but I have! I need is very delicious! Also, if you eat rabbit, it makes you dream like crazy! You have very lucid dreams. And they are wild dreams

Catholics may make a bigger deal of it than most of the Protestant churches, but all Christians recognize Ash Wednesday. So asking Gene for clarification was not unreasonable because the answer could depend on whether he was asking if she was Catholic specifically or if she was Christian generally. A Protestant would certainly not want to say "no" unless she was sure Gene was asking if she was Catholic.
Perhaps it was a bit insensitive, but then I couldn't believe my ears when Betty said "Rabbit's foot." They might be used for good luck, but I always think that it wasn't at all lucky for the rabbit...
AFAIK, Betty wasn't a vegetarian and rabbits are used as meat animals. Finding a use for the skins of butchered rabbits is no more objectively offensive than finding a use for the skins of butchered cattle or swine.
It started in the 70s, but it didn't catch on overnight. It probably would have taken lots longer if bad inflation hadn't happened. The countries with the highest birth rates then are still reproducing at high rates.
@@m.e.d.7997 well on some of the earlier episodes that showed the slate, (that black board with the white and black striped bar at the top) and it would show the date of recording. I looked up some of them and they did tape on Mondays and Fridays too. I wonder if that was due to Gene's schedule because he was traveling from Cape Cod.
No, that's the air date. That's why Gene has to ask Johnny Olson what day "today" is, because they taped a week's worth of shows on a single weekend day and it was hard to keep track of when any particular show might be aired.
No, saint Richard wasn't joking. But did you hear what he said? "I'm an atheist, thank God." On the Movie, "God's Not Dead," an atheist professor challenged one student to prove there is a God in front of the class. In the middle of his talk, the student kept asking his professor, "DO YOU BELIEVE IN GOD?" Finally, he was like, "NO," and when asked why, he said "because he took my wife. I HATE God." And the student looked at him and said, "How can you hate something that doesn't exist.
@@southparknscape8582 No. "Jean" is a woman's name, but "Gene" is a man's. Also, the tomato thing is only about how the word is pronounced in different dialects of English, not its spelling. There's only an E on the end if there's also an S for multiple tomatoes, but it doesn't change the way the word is said.
Ya know what? First of all, I'm SICK of saint Richard (but that's no surprise), but IF Gene had've done anything "bad" to Louisa, it would have been her own fault. As sleazy as Gene is, if it had gone to court, I would've been on HIS side (and that's goin' some knowing how disgusting he is when it comes to women). I can’t believe it, next year these shows will be 50 years old!!! Insane
Sad they have all left us.
Orson Bean with the WORM! Great answer.
Betty must've been disgusted to see Luisa wearing a rabbit fur halter......
It is possible, but to me I don't think she mind because Betty was smiling about it

Louisa was hysterical. She added a lot to these shows.
Panelists:
1. Jack Carter
2. Brett Somers
3. Orson Bean
4. Louisa Moritz
5. Richard Dawson
6. Betty White
Interesting to see what Louisa's answer would have been (since she was born in Cuba)...

Flip Wilson omg loved him too. I'll have to see if I can find him on utube
I love this " politically incorrect" era
And all the years before. It was a different world but we had a blast

19:24 what’s Richard Dawson saying in the background?
I didn't hear his voice at all at this time. Just loud applause.
Just to note, Richard wasn’t an atheist, that was a joke. 😂
Louisa must have really loved Judy Holliday.
I wonder if all of The Match Game episodes are on DVD?

Did Match Game have a home game version?
There was a board game.
Yes there was a board game version. They would plug it in Match Game PM.
Richard Dawson said, "if you win you get a home version of Match Game, if you lose you get two."
Wow, collector's item
Yes eventually Gene advertises it
Can’t hear what Richard says after Gene compliments her.
It sounds like he said something about playing or laying around. That was at the 2:00 minute mark.
Dawson’s comment about Allen Ludden having a hollow head ?

She had a boy, Bradford Pate, who apparently struck a car and killed two people in a DUI incident in 2013.

That is a bit insensitive of Louisa to wear a rabbit halter in the presence of Betty White. I mean, seriously?
I had the same thought, but there's a chance that she wasn't aware of Betty's fondness for animals.
