I once made my sim impregnated the whole town in the sims 3. And then there's this one time my sim snitched a family friend to his wife for cheating. I then followed her and she came to the park where the husband happened to be there to confront him and divorced him on the spot. I love the open world so much, it supports the tea and drama really well lol
if a child catches one of the parents cheating they can also tell on the other parent, which isn't an instant divorce but its the "caught cheating" buff and they may divorce on their own
I miss how many traits there were in the sims 3. They had hydrophobic which seemed useless but I was reading the bio of the MacDuff family in Moonlight Falls, and Felicity's bio says "Unfortunately, a prank that got her hair wet without permission has scarred her for life and Felicity just can’t stand to be anywhere near water." And I think it's so awesome how the traits could fit in with stories you make up for your sims. We decided the reason they needed certain traits and they made each sim and each story so unique and exciting to play.
Yes you can build on house boats. They’re cool in custom worlds since Island paradise is glitchy. I do like Sims 3 (if you use default skin and eyes). Part of me would love the sims 4 to do a open neighborhoods especially if your sim lives in an apartment, but like you said about the sims 3, it’ll load the assets and depending on your pc/laptop, it might load slowly
Open neighborhoods would be enough for me. Doesn't have to be open worlds (though that would be great). What is the point of taking a ski vacation with a resort, if I have to go though the same load screen as I would from my home lot?
2:30 if you use colors that are just slightly different rather than the entire rainbow then the highlight/lowlight/tips/roots system is fantastic for creating a huge variety of realistic hair colors. Obviously if you have bright blonde highlights in dark brown hair it's going to look like an outdated style. Yesterday I made a sim with medium brown hair, slightly darker roots, and light brown almost blonde highlights - it looks just like my boyfriend's natural hair.
I WANT THE HAIR WHEEL BACK WITH HIGHLIGHTS AND ROOTS!!! I made it look good, depends on how you colour it...if you colour it to blend, it's not so tacky looking xD

Sims 3 was amazing compaired to the sims 4 imo. Sims 4 is so basic...Sims 3 even base game gives you more options in terms of general game play. I miss your new house getting hit by asteroids randomly as soon as you get into game, or getting robbed in the night. Sims 4 has no randomness. I for one love the color wheel and being able to chose your own fabrics/woods/metals that to me really made it easy to truly customize your home and objects.
I disagree saying there is more to occult’s in the sims 4. The sims 2 and 3 had a lot of things to do for your occult sims they just weren’t mapped out like in the sims 4. You didn’t have a guide you just had to figure it out and all the things they can do.
100 baby challenge existed in sims 2 already! legacy challenge too, i remember playing it back then. with townies not aging when you spotted a good looking one you would sometimes have to keep them as family friends for a couple of generations until one of your heirs was able to marry them lol
Pinstar invented the Legacy Challenge around 2005! What's funny is that they made it because they were getting bored with the Sims 2 base game after a bit (funny because that's the #1 complaint with Sims 4). But then they just kept updating the rules as new ep's came out and the rest is history, lol. I did that too...kept those good-looking townies in reserve for when you had an heir ready, lol. One of the benefits of the non-aging aging-system 😂 Did you ever try their Apocalypse Challenge? That one was a *beast.* I don't think it'd work aesthetic-wise in Sims 4, except maybe in Strangerville or Evergreen Harbor with a big makeover. But oof, THAT was a challenge - more strategy game than Sims game, lol.
@@lunacouer i remember the apocalypse challenge! though i never finished it because of how massive it was. i think i tried it in sims 4 too even though it doesn't really fit in but it's sooo much work lol. some people have even made extended versions for it since i don't think the original rules have been updated in a long while and those are even worse haha

The sims 4 should have been the sims 3 but with upgrades. Sims three was genuinely ambitious at the time. Similar to the Sims 4 the biggest downfall of the Sims 3 is that not only EA got greedy and kept an IP alive longer than they should have. But because these games have been alive for so long the level of technology passed them by. The changing technology is what caused most of these glitches. This could’ve been avoided if the Sims did focus on quality more than quantity. If EA started from scratch with the Sims three today it would work a lot better than the original Sims three.
I mean sims 4 wedding stories couldnt even animate a kiss so not surprised they didnt add slow dancing... I agree about the excessive patterns and details with build and buy being too much and yeah maybe the hair too but still think color wheel is necessary af since the swatches EA picks (since sims 2 times ok) are usually shite
You can use moveovjects on in the Sims 3, and if you click and hold an object and keep pressing either ctrl or alt, you can almost freely move around the piece of furniture so you're not totally stuck with the tiles. It doesn't work with every object (like smaller decorations to put on a table), but with a bunch of them at least!
Island Paradise was always my favorite in TS3 :) driving the houseboats (so fun!) and scuba diving :D Sims 4 could never. I actually liked the hair system in TS3 but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.
My biggest flex is that my Sims 3 load times aren't the craziest and Island Paradise runs pretty well (freezes sometimes for a couple seconds) 😎. Forget doing great in school, my sims can live near the ocean and become mermaids
I really agree with the neighborhood thing. There's literally NO REASON why I should have to go through a 30 second-1 minute loading screen just to go to another apartment that's in the same building I'm already in.
14:02 Sims 3 on console actual smacks though, instead of an open world, it was an open neighbourhood. We even had a karma system, which I was surprised didn't exist on the PC version.
I've learned so, so much patience from Sims 3 loading and even the skill of holding my sleepiness for saving but get really suspicious when Sims 4 doesn't load after 5 mins sometimes like.. hm. 🤔 Is it me or Henford-en-bagley takes really long to load compared to other worlds?
Yeah I've noticed the same thing and it's sad because Hanford on Bagley is my favourite world to play with. But I'm playing on a laptop from 2012 so it takes at least half an hour to load the world up but every other world I play loads in about 5-10 minutes. When I play The Sims 3. The entire open world I'm playing only takes about 10 minutes to load on that same laptop. So for me, the Sims 4 actually takes longer than the Sims 3, but I did hear that if you play The Sims 3 on an older computer, it actually plays a lot better than if you play it on a modern PC for some reason. And I guess the Sims 4 understandably has the opposite of that problem.
i love the sims 3 hair customisation especially with the root and tips because it means sims have their own kind of personal hair appearance. i had three kids and (now on 5) and their hair colours are different between all of them, different shades of brown and one somehow turned how with a reddish tint.

I actually had a lot of fun playing Sims 3 Pets on the Xbox 360 at my grandmothers house when I was younger. I would stay up all night playing it , before she yelled at me to get some rest 😭 Until I got my laptop , I bought the Sims 4 for my PlayStation and I got bored of it after a few days because I had no CC and even with CC on my laptop it can get a little boring , but more enjoyable for me than on console. Idk if this is an unpopular opinion , but Sims 3 on console is better than Sims 4 on console. That’s just my experience tho lol.
I have both Sims 3 and Sims 3 pets on console but I never play pets because it lags so much for me. My brother has the console version of sims 4 and I've played it a couple of times. I have to agree, sims 3 is definitely better!
yes exactly, my first ever sims game was sims 3 pets on xbox 360, 8 year old me begging for it at gamestop in 2014. i didnt know what expansion packs were nor cared but i bought it and had so much fun playing it even on console i would play for hours and not get bored
I really miss playing families in the Sims 3! I could have one at home working on skills for a promotion, one out hunting for gems, and my teen sim could be out trying not to get caught after curfew.

I mean to be fair, we couldn't freeplace doors and windows or put them on half and quarter tiles in Sims 4 until a fairly recent update. 4 spent the majority of its existence having similar door/window placement as Sims 3, thats why we have so many awkward two-tile wide doors. That was the only way to get a door to sit in the middle of two squares for awhile lol And legit if thats the only thing about 4 that I miss when I play 3 then... thats sad. Just add an extra square when you build lol Those fake garages and sized up decor cars and weirdly sized terrain paint driveways don't look good either anyway. I think the graphics are a tossup. I have an HQ mod in mine and when I was playing my boyfriend asked me if Sims 5 was out, cause he really likes the kind of realistic look it had. And tbh there are some times where I catch it out of the corner of my eye and see how it could look like a next gen game. I think thats what I like about it hahahaha I kind of like the uncanny-valley thing more than I like the cartoony thing and I find it fascinating how many people who don't like Sims 3 graphics end up downloading Alpha CC and make it look more like Sims 3 lmao
Mooch sort of means beg. Or freeload. Neither of those is QUITE right. If I'm always asking for a bite of your sandwich, or if I can use your netflix sign on, or borrow your car and never put gas in it, or crash on your couch 5 nights a week without chipping in for bills, I'm a mooch.
You want the color wheel and not swatches. Otherwise you get too much cc. You need one mesh if you have a colorwheel. You need several different colors of one mesh (brown, black, blonde, red, other) without a colorwheel. It really adds up. My Sims 2 and Sims 4 cc folders were full of recolors. My Sims 3 folder had a lot less cc, mainly meshes. Heck, I could even make the icky plastic looking clothing look good between color wheel and textures and patterns.
About the island paradise glitches in TS3, it started when EA decided to touch the code, now there is no way you can get your sim to enter the ocean so any gameplay with mermaids, which were by far the most interesting part of the pack, are impossible to play since the mermaid cannot go underwater to avoid dehydration nor fetch kelps to eat
Huh? The glitches and lag are mostly due to routing issues and abandoned boats. I was playing an Island Paradise game a couple weeks ago, and I went scuba diving and started dating the merman I met at the dive spot!
Sims 3 Island Paradise was absolutely amazing due to the features and gameplay it provided. Unfortunately I could never really play it because that world would lag/pause every 2 minutes for 30-45 seconds straight.
Can we talk about family albums in The Sims 4? How that would be awesome for generation challenges and not having to move fotos to the inventory every time there's a household change... That woud be amazing.
Speaking of getting up, it’s been forever since I played S3 but I think they had alarm clocks you could set to get them up in the morning, but they were STILL LATE!!! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Just putting it out there: occults are better in the sims 3 in all aspects. Yes the sims 4 gives some skills but so does the sims 3 PLUS so many more interactive objects (alchemy table, bonehilda, brooms and wands, fairy houses, teleportation pad, chemistry set (imaginary friend), etc). Not to mention that with all the packs; in addition to the ts3 supernatural occults you also have mermaids (that can go under water longer than scubas and explore better, fight sharks? and summon a kraken), the genie who granted wishes and could live in your household, plant sims who could literally sleep in the ground and encourage garden growth (get them money trees💸), the imaginary friend (cursed), random alien visits, ghosts that would just appear on your lots of you had a tombstone nearby and possess stuff, mummies?, and robots (either from inventing in Ambitions or building in Into The Future, the latter you can program to do different chores round the house including babysitting, cleaning, cooking and repairing). Please let me know if there are more😊 I know it’s not a battle between the games but for anyone in the comments who likes playing with occults and hasn’t played ts3 then please look into it because you’ll have so much fun❤️❤️❤️
could say that occult system of TS4 is quite repetitive and boring, I liked the system of TS3 and TS2 better, it was more about discovering and learning, the one in TS4 is points that when you earn them you unlock skills
in some creature, that system looks innovative and intuitive, but the system has been applied to all creatures, and it seems boring and repetitive, I don't see it as realistic
Move objects and freedom with building and ease like with resizing etc, is the single one thing that makes me continue playing sims 4 and not go back to sims 3. Content wise and storytellings, pets, everything about sims 3 except for less busy lots occasionally made me love sims 3 more. Had gaming laptop, and never had the lag issue people talked about.
im pretty sure dumpster diving does not require a trait ? i used to always dumpster dive with my sims and they probably never had the dare devil trait lol
The uniqueness and individuality is why I’ll continue to play and love the sims 3. I only hope one day the sims 4 will have more to offer. The dramatic trait is hilarious, my sim literally fainted because his daughter had her birthday and aged up into a teen 😂 also all sims can dumpster dive in the sims 3 unless my games just broken. A mooch is hard to explain but it’s basically like a freeloader. They mooch off of friends/family or take advantage of them, don’t pay bills, etc.

Lol the same build cheats are available on the previous games. Many tutorial videos on how to do attached garages and basements for sims 2. You can unsnap things from the grid and place them anywhere as well. Sims 4 could never: round pools. Do a gold digger challenge please LOL
I don't have a general problem with the graphics of Sims 4. I do find them very inconsistent though. Sims 4 often fluctuates between quite beautiful and quite ugly. Some textures are sharp and detailed, others are totally blurry and fuzzy...
You can literally place things on half tile in the sims 2. Or even wherever you want with cheats. It’s doable but a lot a new players just don’t know about it. You gotta be a OG.
Even the sims 3 was a down grade technical because it got rid of a bunch of good things from the sims 2 but added some things. The expansions were only good in the sims 3 because people complained about things that were in the sims 2 that wasn’t in the sims 3 base game.
There is a fairy and witches mod made for the sims 4 and honestly it’s amazing highly recommend checking it out all you have to do is look up “fairy vs witches mod for sims 4”
If you get ella charmed fixes and delete some troublesome sims island paradise actually runs pretty well it just tedious! But honestly its the best pack ever.
Well, any sim can dumpster dive in The Sims 3... Houseboats are indeed an ambitious things. While you are limited to set lot sizes, most of the lot types are available, even resorts (though it will be hard to run it there). To drive a houseboat, your sim must either own it or throw a party there. In addition, you can upgrade it with a sound horn to annoy neighbors, faster movement speed, and auto-piloting. A SimGuru also did a FAQ on these, which give a lot of info about them.
I have a theory on make our sims unique.....because we complained about them looking the same, and so sims team was like "we worked so hard on the different sims, their personality"......sims customers "they still look the same".....sims team "okay we will make them all different in sims 4, but we will make them the same in the worst way possible, and then you will finally appreciate sims 3". I mean I am absolutely crazy!! The algo is pushing this one at me because I recently got the expansions and all for TS3, and as a longtime ts4 player who runs with a heavily modded game I gotta it's so worth it. I think literally the only thing after my 20 hours of ts3 gameplay so far that is off putting to me is the sims facial expressions looking dead inside lol. Looking for a mod that helps with idle animations but it really does feel like the perfect (its NOT but the direction they went!) sims game.
I used to get so mad when zombies would spawn in my yard and wreck my garden, even when my yard was fenced in. I also got sick of getting bitten by vampires when I was at work. I started disabling all that in game settings. I think the thing I hated most was when I accidentally became a celebrity and paparazzi started stalking me. Though I enjoyed the playthrough where I started fighting them and trapping them in tiny rooms in my yard. Hands-down worst was my character and other Sims mourning uncontrollably at the graves of people they didn't even know. It made no sense. Do you know how many Bob clones I had to kill on that lot to make that haunted graveyard?! LOL
I love Sims 3, it plays like a dream on my gaming laptop EXCEPT Island Paradise if you have a houseboat, it lags every 2 seconds for a full second, had to move inland which kinda loses the point of living on an island… Everything besides that is great, houseboats we’re tiny though and kinda cramped but I still wished I just had the option without having my game stop working for a full second XD
The Sims 3 had lagging actually because the game had no limiters and almost no culling. I lagged really terribly with the Sims 3 before I installed two mods and edited the files. I actually haven't had any real problems with lag in the Sims 4 in a few years even with my hundreds of mods
Love the sims games. The first sims game I ever played was sims 4 in 2015 but forwards the end and more close to the beginning of 2016. Loved it so much couldn’t really build good at all at first bc it was before I got a desktop and I was playing on a laptop and I was just bad at building then. Sims 4 and sims 3 are two of my favorite games especially sims 4 because of the build mode I love to build. Played the sims 3 for the first time in 2018 also love it so much. I mainly play with cc with sims 4. I ended up downloading a bunch of viruses from not knowing how to download them safely/properly when I first started playing and learnt how do put in game and was playing on my laptop. Rip laptop it literally stopped working for the past 4 years bc I was on it so much bc of school and for playing the sims and Minecraft. (Finally figured out how to get it working and get rid of the viruses a month or to ago this year. Turns out the laptop just randomly turning off seconds after turning it on even when it was plugged in the charger bc the battery was completely broken or whatever and just did work properly anymore. Got a new one for it and completely reset the computer.)

There's actually a mod to change how fast Sims complete tasks. It made preparing in the morning before work a breeze instead of a chore. One of the NRAAS mods if I'm not mistaken. I stand to be corrected as it's been a while since I played.
1:38 - "What does that go to show about TS4?" - That Desktop pc's aren't much better than Laptops.. yet people think that something that takes up more desk space is somehow better?! ... Sorry, Laptops of today do not have the same stigma as they did 20 yrs ago.

I don't agree that the hair system in TS4 is better than TS3. You say that the TS3 hair system is no longer in fashion, but you can play all different kinds of time periods in TS3 and that hair system comes in very handy for that. You can't do that in TS4. Also, you're not forced to have different color highlights and roots if you don't want to in TS3. In TS4, you just don't have that choice.
I also prefer that graphics in TS3 over TS4, although I too don't really care for the default skin for the sims in it too. So I've replaced it with beautiful skins instead. There are several out there - the one I use all the time are Navetsea skins. It gives all my sims a quiet, understated beauty that looks really great!
Also about "loading screens" in TS3, if you string a whole bunch of activities and the last activity is to go to another lot, while your sim is doing the other activities before that one, the game will load the new lot in the background. So by the time your sim finishes all the previous activities and then goes to the new lot, all the assets of that lot and townies will already be there.
I only played the sims 3 on PS3 and it was SO bad. That's why I actually really like the sims 4, the only thing I miss is the cemetery. There's something that looks like it in forgotten hollow but there are no ghosts

The sims 4 should have been the sims 3 but with upgrades. Sims three was genuinely ambitious at the time. Similar to the Sims 4 the biggest downfall of the Sims 3 is that not only EA got greedy and kept an IP alive longer than they should have. But because these games have been alive for so long the level of technology passed them by. The changing technology is what caused most of these glitches. This could’ve been avoided if the Sims did focus on quality more than quantity. If EA started from scratch with the Sims three today it would work a lot better than the original Sims three.
I mean sims 4 wedding stories couldnt even animate a kiss so not surprised they didnt add slow dancing... I agree about the excessive patterns and details with build and buy being too much and yeah maybe the hair too but still think color wheel is necessary af since the swatches EA picks (since sims 2 times ok) are usually shite

You can use moveovjects on in the Sims 3, and if you click and hold an object and keep pressing either ctrl or alt, you can almost freely move around the piece of furniture so you're not totally stuck with the tiles. It doesn't work with every object (like smaller decorations to put on a table), but with a bunch of them at least!
But it definitely doesn't work with doors and windows, which didn't even get half-tile placement (unlike most other objects)
Island Paradise was always my favorite in TS3 :) driving the houseboats (so fun!) and scuba diving :D Sims 4 could never. I actually liked the hair system in TS3 but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.

My biggest flex is that my Sims 3 load times aren't the craziest and Island Paradise runs pretty well (freezes sometimes for a couple seconds) 😎. Forget doing great in school, my sims can live near the ocean and become mermaids
I really agree with the neighborhood thing. There's literally NO REASON why I should have to go through a 30 second-1 minute loading screen just to go to another apartment that's in the same building I'm already in.
14:02 Sims 3 on console actual smacks though, instead of an open world, it was an open neighbourhood. We even had a karma system, which I was surprised didn't exist on the PC version.
I've learned so, so much patience from Sims 3 loading and even the skill of holding my sleepiness for saving but get really suspicious when Sims 4 doesn't load after 5 mins sometimes like.. hm. 🤔

Yeah I've noticed the same thing and it's sad because Hanford on Bagley is my favourite world to play with.
But I'm playing on a laptop from 2012 so it takes at least half an hour to load the world up but every other world I play loads in about 5-10 minutes.
When I play The Sims 3. The entire open world I'm playing only takes about 10 minutes to load on that same laptop.
So for me, the Sims 4 actually takes longer than the Sims 3, but I did hear that if you play The Sims 3 on an older computer, it actually plays a lot better than if you play it on a modern PC for some reason. And I guess the Sims 4 understandably has the opposite of that problem.
i love the sims 3 hair customisation especially with the root and tips because it means sims have their own kind of personal hair appearance. i had three kids and (now on 5) and their hair colours are different between all of them, different shades of brown and one somehow turned how with a reddish tint.

I actually had a lot of fun playing Sims 3 Pets on the Xbox 360 at my grandmothers house when I was younger. I would stay up all night playing it , before she yelled at me to get some rest 😭
Until I got my laptop , I bought the Sims 4 for my PlayStation and I got bored of it after a few days because I had no CC and even with CC on my laptop it can get a little boring , but more enjoyable for me than on console.
Idk if this is an unpopular opinion , but Sims 3 on console is better than Sims 4 on console. That’s just my experience tho lol.
I have both Sims 3 and Sims 3 pets on console but I never play pets because it lags so much for me. My brother has the console version of sims 4 and I've played it a couple of times. I have to agree, sims 3 is definitely better!
yes exactly, my first ever sims game was sims 3 pets on xbox 360, 8 year old me begging for it at gamestop in 2014. i didnt know what expansion packs were nor cared but i bought it and had so much fun playing it even on console i would play for hours and not get bored

I mean to be fair, we couldn't freeplace doors and windows or put them on half and quarter tiles in Sims 4 until a fairly recent update. 4 spent the majority of its existence having similar door/window placement as Sims 3, thats why we have so many awkward two-tile wide doors. That was the only way to get a door to sit in the middle of two squares for awhile lol
And legit if thats the only thing about 4 that I miss when I play 3 then... thats sad. Just add an extra square when you build lol Those fake garages and sized up decor cars and weirdly sized terrain paint driveways don't look good either anyway.
I think the graphics are a tossup. I have an HQ mod in mine and when I was playing my boyfriend asked me if Sims 5 was out, cause he really likes the kind of realistic look it had. And tbh there are some times where I catch it out of the corner of my eye and see how it could look like a next gen game. I think thats what I like about it hahahaha I kind of like the uncanny-valley thing more than I like the cartoony thing and I find it fascinating how many people who don't like Sims 3 graphics end up downloading Alpha CC and make it look more like Sims 3 lmao

Yes, you can build on house boats and even furnish a full home!
You want the color wheel and not swatches. Otherwise you get too much cc. You need one mesh if you have a colorwheel. You need several different colors of one mesh (brown, black, blonde, red, other) without a colorwheel. It really adds up. My Sims 2 and Sims 4 cc folders were full of recolors. My Sims 3 folder had a lot less cc, mainly meshes. Heck, I could even make the icky plastic looking clothing look good between color wheel and textures and patterns.
Also Sims 4 occult may be better but they roll it in batches and charge you separate for it. Vampire - separate, witches - separate.

About the island paradise glitches in TS3, it started when EA decided to touch the code, now there is no way you can get your sim to enter the ocean so any gameplay with mermaids, which were by far the most interesting part of the pack, are impossible to play since the mermaid cannot go underwater to avoid dehydration nor fetch kelps to eat
Huh? The glitches and lag are mostly due to routing issues and abandoned boats. I was playing an Island Paradise game a couple weeks ago, and I went scuba diving and started dating the merman I met at the dive spot!
Sims 3 Island Paradise was absolutely amazing due to the features and gameplay it provided. Unfortunately I could never really play it because that world would lag/pause every 2 minutes for 30-45 seconds straight.
Can we talk about family albums in The Sims 4? How that would be awesome for generation challenges and not having to move fotos to the inventory every time there's a household change... That woud be amazing.

Just putting it out there: occults are better in the sims 3 in all aspects. Yes the sims 4 gives some skills but so does the sims 3 PLUS so many more interactive objects (alchemy table, bonehilda, brooms and wands, fairy houses, teleportation pad, chemistry set (imaginary friend), etc). Not to mention that with all the packs; in addition to the ts3 supernatural occults you also have mermaids (that can go under water longer than scubas and explore better, fight sharks? and summon a kraken), the genie who granted wishes and could live in your household, plant sims who could literally sleep in the ground and encourage garden growth (get them money trees💸), the imaginary friend (cursed), random alien visits, ghosts that would just appear on your lots of you had a tombstone nearby and possess stuff, mummies?, and robots (either from inventing in Ambitions or building in Into The Future, the latter you can program to do different chores round the house including babysitting, cleaning, cooking and repairing). Please let me know if there are more😊 I know it’s not a battle between the games but for anyone in the comments who likes playing with occults and hasn’t played ts3 then please look into it because you’ll have so much fun❤️❤️❤️

could say that occult system of TS4 is quite repetitive and boring, I liked the system of TS3 and TS2 better, it was more about discovering and learning, the one in TS4 is points that when you earn them you unlock skills
in some creature, that system looks innovative and intuitive, but the system has been applied to all creatures, and it seems boring and repetitive, I don't see it as realistic
Move objects and freedom with building and ease like with resizing etc, is the single one thing that makes me continue playing sims 4 and not go back to sims 3. Content wise and storytellings, pets, everything about sims 3 except for less busy lots occasionally made me love sims 3 more. Had gaming laptop, and never had the lag issue people talked about.

The uniqueness and individuality is why I’ll continue to play and love the sims 3. I only hope one day the sims 4 will have more to offer. The dramatic trait is hilarious, my sim literally fainted because his daughter had her birthday and aged up into a teen 😂 also all sims can dumpster dive in the sims 3 unless my games just broken. A mooch is hard to explain but it’s basically like a freeloader. They mooch off of friends/family or take advantage of them, don’t pay bills, etc.
The requirement to dance on the counter is have 3(or 5) skill level in club dancing. And there is no trait required to dumpster dive.

Lol the same build cheats are available on the previous games. Many tutorial videos on how to do attached garages and basements for sims 2. You can unsnap things from the grid and place them anywhere as well.

I don't have a general problem with the graphics of Sims 4. I do find them very inconsistent though. Sims 4 often fluctuates between quite beautiful and quite ugly. Some textures are sharp and detailed, others are totally blurry and fuzzy...
Island Paradise isn't glitchy per se, but Isla Paradiso lags so much that it pauses every few seconds on my high-end PC.
You can literally place things on half tile in the sims 2. Or even wherever you want with cheats. It’s doable but a lot a new players just don’t know about it. You gotta be a OG.
Even the sims 3 was a down grade technical because it got rid of a bunch of good things from the sims 2 but added some things. The expansions were only good in the sims 3 because people complained about things that were in the sims 2 that wasn’t in the sims 3 base game.
There is a fairy and witches mod made for the sims 4 and honestly it’s amazing highly recommend checking it out all you have to do is look up “fairy vs witches mod for sims 4”
If you get ella charmed fixes and delete some troublesome sims island paradise actually runs pretty well it just tedious! But honestly its the best pack ever.

Houseboats are indeed an ambitious things. While you are limited to set lot sizes, most of the lot types are available, even resorts (though it will be hard to run it there).
To drive a houseboat, your sim must either own it or throw a party there. In addition, you can upgrade it with a sound horn to annoy neighbors, faster movement speed, and auto-piloting.
A SimGuru also did a FAQ on these, which give a lot of info about them.

The algo is pushing this one at me because I recently got the expansions and all for TS3, and as a longtime ts4 player who runs with a heavily modded game I gotta it's so worth it. I think literally the only thing after my 20 hours of ts3 gameplay so far that is off putting to me is the sims facial expressions looking dead inside lol. Looking for a mod that helps with idle animations but it really does feel like the perfect (its NOT but the direction they went!) sims game.
I used to get so mad when zombies would spawn in my yard and wreck my garden, even when my yard was fenced in. I also got sick of getting bitten by vampires when I was at work. I started disabling all that in game settings. I think the thing I hated most was when I accidentally became a celebrity and paparazzi started stalking me. Though I enjoyed the playthrough where I started fighting them and trapping them in tiny rooms in my yard. Hands-down worst was my character and other Sims mourning uncontrollably at the graves of people they didn't even know. It made no sense. Do you know how many Bob clones I had to kill on that lot to make that haunted graveyard?! LOL

I love Sims 3, it plays like a dream on my gaming laptop EXCEPT Island Paradise if you have a houseboat, it lags every 2 seconds for a full second, had to move inland which kinda loses the point of living on an island… Everything besides that is great, houseboats we’re tiny though and kinda cramped but I still wished I just had the option without having my game stop working for a full second XD
The Sims 3 had lagging actually because the game had no limiters and almost no culling. I lagged really terribly with the Sims 3 before I installed two mods and edited the files. I actually haven't had any real problems with lag in the Sims 4 in a few years even with my hundreds of mods

Love the sims games. The first sims game I ever played was sims 4 in 2015 but forwards the end and more close to the beginning of 2016. Loved it so much couldn’t really build good at all at first bc it was before I got a desktop and I was playing on a laptop and I was just bad at building then. Sims 4 and sims 3 are two of my favorite games especially sims 4 because of the build mode I love to build. Played the sims 3 for the first time in 2018 also love it so much. I mainly play with cc with sims 4. I ended up downloading a bunch of viruses from not knowing how to download them safely/properly when I first started playing and learnt how do put in game and was playing on my laptop. Rip laptop it literally stopped working for the past 4 years bc I was on it so much bc of school and for playing the sims and Minecraft. (Finally figured out how to get it working and get rid of the viruses a month or to ago this year. Turns out the laptop just randomly turning off seconds after turning it on even when it was plugged in the charger bc the battery was completely broken or whatever and just did work properly anymore. Got a new one for it and completely reset the computer.)
Screw the sims...I'm playing a new game. I'm taking a shot every time you say 'literally'.

There's actually a mod to change how fast Sims complete tasks. It made preparing in the morning before work a breeze instead of a chore. One of the NRAAS mods if I'm not mistaken. I stand to be corrected as it's been a while since I played.
1:38 - "What does that go to show about TS4?" - That Desktop pc's aren't much better than Laptops.. yet people think that something that takes up more desk space is somehow better?! ... Sorry, Laptops of today do not have the same stigma as they did 20 yrs ago.

I don't agree that the hair system in TS4 is better than TS3. You say that the TS3 hair system is no longer in fashion, but you can play all different kinds of time periods in TS3 and that hair system comes in very handy for that. You can't do that in TS4. Also, you're not forced to have different color highlights and roots if you don't want to in TS3. In TS4, you just don't have that choice.
I also prefer that graphics in TS3 over TS4, although I too don't really care for the default skin for the sims in it too. So I've replaced it with beautiful skins instead. There are several out there - the one I use all the time are Navetsea skins. It gives all my sims a quiet, understated beauty that looks really great!
Also about "loading screens" in TS3, if you string a whole bunch of activities and the last activity is to go to another lot, while your sim is doing the other activities before that one, the game will load the new lot in the background. So by the time your sim finishes all the previous activities and then goes to the new lot, all the assets of that lot and townies will already be there.
I agree that a lot of the TS3 fashions were REALLY ugly. But fortunately, it has a LOT of better CC made by fans, all of which were free.
