A lot of asexuals use the split attraction model, so their romantic and sexual attraction are different from each other. The romantic attraction equivalent of asexual is aromantic, which is little to no romantic attraction. Some people can be asexual but not aromantic, aromantic but not asexual, or both (aroace).

Having specific words to express exactly how you feel on the inside is very important to understanding yourself and being comfortable in your own life. For the longest time, I didn’t understand that I was asexual and continuously pushed myself to engage in sex - something that I felt was expected of me because that is what society says I have to do when in a relationship. However, when I learned about asexuality, I finally had a word to describe the complex feelings I had around the act of physical intimacy, and why I would be pushed to tears after sex or why I had to consistently get drunk in order to just engage in sex even with someone that I loved. The amount of relief that I experienced finally having a word to explain my complex emotions was unexplainable. Having these classifications is very valuable for many people.
To answer Satch's amusing yapping, the purpose of all these flags is to identify groups within a group. We have the rainbow flag to represent LGBT+ as a whole, and other flags to represent different groupings within that label. Unless a person is within a certain group, they don't need to know a particular flag. The common person isn't expected to know all the different flags, but they know 🌈 = LGBT. Think of it like sports jerseys. The common person displaying a sports jersey of Team 1, the common person thinks "okay that person is a sports fan". A sports fan would think "Ooh! A Team 1 fan! We can talk about sports". And Team 1 fan will think "Omg someone like me!"
Bears: One of my friends ran the very first bear web site, and he had to come up with an official definition for "what is a bear?" for the site. It's defined as "a bear is a person who says they're a bear." So if you want to be a bear, all you have to do is say you're a bear. Yes really anyone. It doesn't matter if they're thin and hairless, it doesn't matter if they're a woman, if they say they're a bear, they're a bear.
Of course the intolerant white people had to take it and change it into something else. They just hate toxic inclusivity, woke isn't what they think it is and people always sound stupid when they complain about being woke
Wtf is that aroace description. I’m aro and I’d more describe our relationships as “platonic but appears romantic/sexual to outsiders”. I admit, it’s very nuanced and difficult for others to understand, but it’s what some of us feel describes us.

just to clear things up, being pansexual means that you dont care about the gender of your partner while when you are bisexual you might have a prefered one
Thanks for adding “might” LOL As a bisexual I always find it super weird when people say that we “see gender” or so (makes it sound super judgy) when that was never even something mentioned in the original meaning of bisexual LOL. Bisexual is liking multiple genders just like pansexual but maybe with a few tweaks
bear is a decade old term ... and it very much is a sexual thing (like twink, but the opposite) however it has always had such a huge community and specialized bars/meet-ups that a flag was created! it's like an identification so they could be easier to find. possibly because there really was no online spaces for it yet the blue-green gay flag is very new and not really "official" as it was created by a random on tumblr in like 2019/2020. gay man communities usually just go with the regular rainbow flag or twink/bear/leather flags! lesbian have their own because it is just as old as the other flags and have been widely used historically
basically the bear flag exists because so many fat gay hairy man existed and wanted to meet up decades ago lmaoooo. you could compare it to like how femme and butch lesbians have individual communities and meet-ups with the exception that it's not a sexual thing like bears and twinks
Most of the various queer flags were made on tumblr! As a denizen of tumblr, I've done my research, and you'd be surprised how much of queer culture is made there, and how much queer history is preserved there.
@@christabelle__ actually aware :) but its therefore less known outside of internet spaces. unlike older flags… only exception i can think of is honestly the new lesbian flag because it replaced the lipstick one so quick lol
I've found it's used more in order to explain what kind of person you're attracted to. I have friends who are twinks who are only into twinks, bears who are only interested in bears, and then the ones who would prefer a twink-bear pairing. Just like butch and lipstick lesbians. I do think, though, that it shouldn't be attached to homosexuality as much, because straight women can be butch and straight men can be twinks, yaknow?
Yep! Gays spaces IRL are very different than the ones online. Part of me is nervous for what happens when the tumblr era kids get a rude awakening to what it’s like offline? But I’m sure they’ll settle and find their place

As a Bi person, I don't fully understand the difference between Bisexual and Pansexual either. I just Identify as Bisexual because I like the flag better lol
A bisexual doesn't mind whether you are a man or a woman (and according to some, the central blended colour means they don't mind if you are a flavour of nonbinary either). A pansexual doesn't mind whether the inside of your pants is a p, a v, or a crocodile. Pansexual is more theoretical. Like in a world of aliens or cybernetic body enhancements, you'd still be down.
Hi. I'm neither bisexual nor pansexual so I hope what I'm about to say is correct. Bisexuality is the sexual attraction to cis men and women. Pansexuality is sexual attraction to all genders (trans, cis, nonbinary etc). The term I've heard them use is that they're into "hearts, not parts".
one more thing.... a lot of these classifications are more for the people in the relationship than how they announce themselves to society. My husband is asexual but is attracted to girls which is no big deal to anybody but me, who HAS to understand what an asexual is if I wish to stay in my relationship. Fair?
As an ace person, absolutely fair. I think your husband is alloromantic, meaning he can experience romantic attraction normally (and allo isn't a label technically, it's just the umbrella for any non-aromantic identities), just no sexual attraction, which is honestly not talked about enough, someone being asexual but alloromantic

I’m not spokesman on gender issues, but I believe genderfluid is not when you _do_ something that is considered masculine or feminine. It’s more about how you actually identify yourself, how you feel on the inside. And it’s not necessary two basic genders (male/female). But that’s info I’ve gathered trough years. I think actual genderfluid people will explain it better.)
Hi, genderfluid enby here! You got that right; there are three dimensions: 1. sexual orientation/preference e.g. ace/allo, gay, bi etc., 2. gender e.g. trans-/cis- male, female, enby, agender (all with loads of subcategories) and 3. gender expression = the way one dresses, talks, walks etc. 😊
Yep, genderfluid generally means you identify differently on different days and may dress differently and prefer different pronouns on those days. Sadly they are often stuck with lifelong body dysmorphia because no set body will suit them every day.

Honestly, I wish to see more of you building/furnishing videos in the sims. I find the way you make the houses very refreshing. Other simmers they clutter the heck out of their houses and while it looks great and I like to watch them, the way you do it feels much more realistic, like the phone on the bed, a (not)storage room, less clutter in the kitchen as you usually need more space to prep. Idk, it's something different and not just all about the visual aspect. I really like it, I'll look forward for some more of these.
I think the labels give those who are unsure or marginalized in their communities and homes a safe place to belong and know they aren’t alone. Knowing you aren’t the only one to feel this way is so powerful. Especially if those feelings single you out for abuse.❤
the rainbow flag expresses pride as a whole while the individual flags represent their respective identities it’s actually so weird that homosexual doesn’t receive their own flag, but lesbians get both variations 😭 an embarrassing oversight for a game that really prides itself on representation
The rainbow flag makes the most sense because the whole idea is the rainbow is a representation of the entire colour spectrum. By design it encompasses everybody.

Hey Satch, I'm going to educate and hopefully help you figure out the differences... These are two different categories, Gender and Sexual Orientation: Gender: This says what you feel your gender is, for some it's cis (whatever your body was at birth), trans (when you are the opposite of what you were at birth), intersex (this can be from birth where you have traits for both like breasts on a man or woman without breasts or larger female genitalia to look almost like a man) nonbinary (where you don't feel like you are either gender) and genderfluid (where you are more of go with the flow with your gender). Both of the last two are basically not putting a label if they are a man or woman. Orientation: This one gets tricky... you know the basic 3 gay lesbian and trans, pansexual is basically bi but more specific since bi can mean your gender and not your gender and some people affiliate it with men and women and pan is everything (trans, nonbinary, etc). We further have descriptions of how much you can love as well, aromantic is you don't date anyone because you don't feel connections like others, demiromantic is you need to have a deep emotional bond before being romantic with someone, asexual is you don't want sex with anyone sometimes its revolting or sometimes you just have no interest in it. demisexual is like demiromantic but with sex. aroace is a short way of saying you don't want to date you dont want sex you just want to live your life in this hypersexualized world. Hope all this helps, Bears are just beefy gays or gays with dad bods.
think it would've been really cool if Satch had actually asked the people that identify with those flags what they meant than looking up articles and it couldve been a fun way to have guests and dynamic interactions then spreading more confusion or misinfo about the identities
But the problem is there is no official definition and everybody I’ve met have their own take on it, it’s not mis-info for the people that care they will know and find peace in that
Most of these are unofficial and just more complicated ways of saying “I like penis” or “I like vagina” and honestly it doesn’t matter anyway. Frankly not everyone wants to know who you’re trying to bang and why. It shouldn’t be so important to you that people understand your vague terms, because really nobody cares.
Educational and entertaining. I knew a few of these flags, but not all, and the comments section has been helpful for clearer understanding about a few orientations.
As a pansexual, here: We are people who feel attraction to people regardless of gender. We don’t see gender. For example, let’s say there is a girl who is very sweet and smart, and a man who is very mean and ugly. A pansexual man would pick the woman, not because they are a woman, because their personality is good. We don’t care about the outside, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Hope this helps!
I think Satch is def late 20's maybe 30's even, the way he's confused about all those screams gen y and I feel you bruh. I remember the times when it was just lgbt 😂
Asexual here, it's a bit of a grey area so to speak and some of the descriptions of it online are very vague, for me personally I find guys attractive and can be romantic with them but find the thought of sex with them or anyone both grosses me out and freaks me out, just a big no to that side of things.
As a genderfluid person, I interpret it as not feeling like a good fit for either binary option. I mostly present as my assigned at birth gender (biological sex) but I feel most comfortable when using gender-neutral pronouns and feel discomfort when other people project their heteronormative expectations on me. The happiness I felt when first using “they/them” was liberating. As a pansexual, I used to identify as bisexual and once I recognised my own gender fluidity, I knew that I actually was pansexual (otherwise I wouldn’t be attracted to someone like myself and that felt… wrong). I still do plenty of things tied to my biological sex and there’s a lot of people like me from what I see in online communities!
Satch being incredibly grammatically correct, he properly addressed the Fish Vs Fishes issue. Plural of fish is fish but when you address multiple types of fish, it's fishes. I just learned that yesterday and literally watching this video I was like: "Satch is being very woke (in a good way), addressing the lack of representation in the sims while appropriately using the right fish word in a sentence and representing the different types of fishes."
I was wheezing endlessly when EA forgotten about the Homosexual's flag. Also I didn't even know we had a gay flag. I always thought the rainbow was our united flag.😂
Heres a quick, and more understandable rundown Asexual: feeling little to no sexual attraction Aroace: feeling little to no sexual AND romantic attraction (aroace is a mixture of asexual and aromantic. Aromantic being feeling little to no romantic attraction). Pansexual: sexual attraction to people regardless of gender. Basically like saying you like all genders --nbs included--, and is kind of a subset of bisexual. Bisexual is sexual attraction to two or more genders. Honestly bisexual/pansexual really confuse me but theyre often interchangeable depending on the person, and its basically the equivalent of saying "i like pizza" and "i like all pizza". One implies you like it all across the board, and the other could imply preferences or no preferences -- again, depending on the person. Nonbinary is anything outside of binary gender, but is technically still a type of trans. Its an umbrella term. Meaning you identify outside the binary of just a girl or just a boy. Theres a whole bunch of microlabels inbetween, such as genderfluid, which means the fluidity of gender. One day you may feel like a man, the next day a woman, and another day like neither. Honestly there are so many microlabels that i dont 100% understand or personally believe in, but yk whatever. People can identify however they please. I personally agree, however. I dont really like too many labels. I understand why some people would but i find them kind of boxing people in and more dividing, if anything. I dont understand why we cant just like girls as a girl, or boys as a boy, or no one as a person and just vibe with it for what it is without labelling it. And with all the microlabels we have today, it makes it confusing even for people *in* the community. No one is ever going to take gay or trans people seriously when were over here labelling what kind of gay we are down to being a brute, hairy man.
@@shreksoffspringMaybe you're young, but it definitely did. We used to contrast "woke and broke" in memes, where the educated take was woke, and the trashy take was broke. And even conspiracy theorists called themselves woke because they believed they were the only people 'awake' to the truth. Then it started being used sarcastically by people criticizing the left.
@@demo2823 woke was never about "spirituality" it's always been about supporting human rights and wanting equal rights for all races and sexualities. People use woke as an insult and say they're "not woke" when all they're saying is they are a bigot
I think the blue/green gay pride flag is much more recent than the others. Originally the rainbow one was the gay flag, but since it’s become all encompassing, a specific flag was chosen to mirror the design of the lesbian flag. The Sims team hasn’t updated the flags in a few years, so that’s probably why it’s missing
So, the difference between bisexual and pansexual is that bisexual is sexual, Romantic, or any other type of attraction towards more than one gender. There are a ton of Genders, by the way, and this will come into play for pansexuality. So pansexuality is sexual, Romantic, or any other type of attraction for all genders, every single one, with no preference. A common misconception is that they are attracted to personality. That's not true. Also, there are a lot more gay people than we think, there's just a lot of homophobia still, sadly. Also, I totally agree with you, the bear lfag seems like a fetish. With a more uplifting note, I'm so glad you're getting adapted to the community! Once you learn enough about it, you can see it for what it is, most times it's just very wholesome. (::
About what you've said that you've never met anyone who identifies as one of these in real life - just wanted to share my experience, don't know if it's similar for other people or not. So I'm a trans-masc agender person who's panromantic and greysexual, but I usually just say that I'm a pansexual trans guy to most of the people I meet and who aren't my close friends, cause I just don't want to bother explaining all of that stuff every time and it wouldn't matter any way in 99,9% of interactions with these people. Finding my labels was mostly useful for understanding myself and to explain what I am to people who are interested in me romantically or sexually. So it might be possible that you know a lot of people like these and just don't know about that. Oh and I like these interior designs 😁
The way I see it anybody can do whatever, whoever, and b whatever they want as long as ur not harming anyone. There r so many labels out there I've honestly stopped trying to understand them all bc it's overwhelming to me. If ur a decent living being do or b whatever u want
I’m by no means attacking you on this. I love your content. But I think the internet has a bad way of explaining Asexual. It’s different for everyone. Being Ace “every color” supposedly represents a different level of attraction. As in drive. So yes I find people attractive sometimes. But body parts I do not. So face and body can be attractive. But as soon as it gets to anything sexual I am not attracted. Like we still have sex drives… toys from the back wall of Spencer’s is a thing. It’s overall hard to explain. And everyone is different.
@@starries_night Your experience does not speak for everyone else’s. There are no “fake asexuals”. There’s people with different experiences and it’s that simple. Don’t over complicate it for yourself. (Edit, cuz I’m tried as hell right now and used the wrong “Your”.)

You are correct, the rainbow flag is meant to represent the whole lgbtqa+ community. A newer, progressive pride flag, the rainbow with the additional triangle represents including racial diversity among the community. But most of the flags are more about the individual letters, and subdivisions.
I'm nonbinary and aroace. To me being nonbinary means I just don't give a shit about my gender so I really don't care if people refer to me as a women or man. Being aroace means I don't experience romantic or sexual attraction to anyone so I don't have any desire date or woohoo with anyone. The asexually part is a little more complicated but I won't get into that. Also the nonbinary and ace flags are cool but I don't like the aroace flag.
So the best way I can personally help folks understand being a gay aroace guy is: "You have a spicy magazine that turns you on. An allosexual person may want to act on that feeling with another person (or at least picture themselves doing so), but acting on it with another person to me would be the same as trying to have fun times with the magazine itself. It's just paper. I can like to look without touching." As for the multitude of flags, I view it as just a way to express yourself, the same way wearing a shirt with your favorite band on it or hanging up a movie poster. It's just representing an aspect of yourself. You don't need to get it or like it, because it's not for you. It's for the person using it. They go against the heavy stigma about sexuality in general by normalizing its presence. For things like the leather flag, it's just something they don't need to hide in a secret room for no one to see. Then if they're out and about and someone sees it, bam- common interest. Just like if they saw you in fishing gear, it's safe to assume you like fishing. So it is just folks living their life and expressing themselves with some colors. (Obviously there are some small vocal groups that take everything to obnoxious extremes, this is no exception)
this video is hilarious, love it! as a bisexual person i don't 100% understand pansexuality either, but if people are comfortable with the label, go ahead and vibe with it.🤎 pan people usually describe their attraction as "not being affected by gender (or being genderblind)", while us bi folks say we're attracted to "any gender (so it can be anything between two, multiple or all, depends on a person)". which can, technically, be the same thing in some instances, but bi appears to be a more broad term while pan is very specific? at least that's how it was explained to me... hope it helps!

GenderFluid people are people who feel like their gender changes, its not something that they choose depending on what theyre doing but how theyre feeling in themselves

I am now a lady bear. 😊

i miss pre 2016 when woke actually meant something and wasnt just a term for whatever group annoyed you
Never read a truer comment
It did. It was co-opted and made into a derogatory term. It used to be a compliment.
Of course the intolerant white people had to take it and change it into something else. They just hate toxic inclusivity, woke isn't what they think it is and people always sound stupid when they complain about being woke

The term lost it's meaning unfortunately
Wtf is that aroace description. I’m aro and I’d more describe our relationships as “platonic but appears romantic/sexual to outsiders”. I admit, it’s very nuanced and difficult for others to understand, but it’s what some of us feel describes us.
That's something called a queer platonic relationship, a relationship in all senses but no romantic and/or sexual attraction! I'm arospec and my best relationships have been qp
just to clear things up, being pansexual means that you dont care about the gender of your partner while when you are bisexual you might have a prefered one
This is not true. Personal preferences have nothing to do with orientation.
You missed such an opportunity to make the kitchen the pansexual room and fill the kitchen with pans..!
I saw what you did there 😂
bear is a decade old term ... and it very much is a sexual thing (like twink, but the opposite) however it has always had such a huge community and specialized bars/meet-ups that a flag was created! it's like an identification so they could be easier to find. possibly because there really was no online spaces for it yet
the blue-green gay flag is very new and not really "official" as it was created by a random on tumblr in like 2019/2020. gay man communities usually just go with the regular rainbow flag or twink/bear/leather flags! lesbian have their own because it is just as old as the other flags and have been widely used historically
basically the bear flag exists because so many fat gay hairy man existed and wanted to meet up decades ago lmaoooo. you could compare it to like how femme and butch lesbians have individual communities and meet-ups with the exception that it's not a sexual thing like bears and twinks

Do people feel genders?

This concept would be right at home in The Sims 3, with the CASt tool you can paint a single room in all 400 flags.
Hey Satch, I'm going to educate and hopefully help you figure out the differences... These are two different categories, Gender and Sexual Orientation:
Gender:
This says what you feel your gender is, for some it's cis (whatever your body was at birth), trans (when you are the opposite of what you were at birth), intersex (this can be from birth where you have traits for both like breasts on a man or woman without breasts or larger female genitalia to look almost like a man) nonbinary (where you don't feel like you are either gender) and genderfluid (where you are more of go with the flow with your gender). Both of the last two are basically not putting a label if they are a man or woman.
Orientation:
This one gets tricky... you know the basic 3 gay lesbian and trans, pansexual is basically bi but more specific since bi can mean your gender and not your gender and some people affiliate it with men and women and pan is everything (trans, nonbinary, etc).
Lesbian room but not one carabiner or flannel t-shirt in sight......
think it would've been really cool if Satch had actually asked the people that identify with those flags what they meant than looking up articles and it couldve been a fun way to have guests and dynamic interactions then spreading more confusion or misinfo about the identities

As a pansexual, here:
We are people who feel attraction to people regardless of gender.

I’m gen z and were confused too. It’s not a generational thing, it’s an attention seeking thing
I 100% agree satch…I was confused when I found out all the flags isn’t that what a rainbow is for🤣😂😂
Asexual here, it's a bit of a grey area so to speak and some of the descriptions of it online are very vague, for me personally I find guys attractive and can be romantic with them but find the thought of sex with them or anyone both grosses me out and freaks me out, just a big no to that side of things.

I was wheezing endlessly when EA forgotten about the Homosexual's flag. Also I didn't even know we had a gay flag. I always thought the rainbow was our united flag.😂
Heres a quick, and more understandable rundown
Asexual: feeling little to no sexual attraction
Aroace: feeling little to no sexual AND romantic attraction (aroace is a mixture of asexual and aromantic.
You are incorrect. Bisexuals have been using the definition "attraction regardless of gender" since at least the 70s.
In agreement! Woke used to mean, "spiritually aware", like enlightened. Now it means the opposite.

It never meant that
@@shreksoffspringMaybe you're young, but it definitely did. We used to contrast "woke and broke" in memes, where the educated take was woke, and the trashy take was broke. @@demo2823 woke was never about "spirituality" it's always been about supporting human rights and wanting equal rights for all races and sexualities. People use woke as an insult and say they're "not woke" when all they're saying is they are a bigot
As a gender fluid person I’m not bothered that you don’t understand. It’s been a very confusing existence for me personally so I get it.
Bisexuals have used the definition "attraction regardless of gender" since at least the 70s.
Well, ngl, that was a bit painful to watch at times 😅. But nice to see people educating each other in the comments.

I can like to look without touching."
As for the multitude of flags, I view it as just a way to express yourself, the same way wearing a shirt with your favorite band on it or hanging up a movie poster.
The flags feel like the flavors in the boba store: Different labels same taste
this video is hilarious, love it!
as a bisexual person i don't 100% understand pansexuality either, but if people are comfortable with the label, go ahead and vibe with it.🤎
pan people usually describe their attraction as "not being affected by gender (or being genderblind)", while us bi folks say we're attracted to "any gender (so it can be anything between two, multiple or all, depends on a person)". which can, technically, be the same thing in some instances, but bi appears to be a more broad term while pan is very specific? at least that's how it was explained to me... hope it helps!
Yep, you explained it better 😄 I think im bi but who knows
I'm bisexual but I'm only attracted to biological males and females so I understand why there's the term 'pansexual'.
@@Serendipity92x totally fine! i’m bi and can be attracted to anyone so, it depends on a person. (plus, sex and gender are two different things anyways.)
@@Serendipity92x pansexual has nothing to do with trans people, I’m bisexual and attracted to every gender not to a certain combination of gender genitals and transition boxes
No. All these labels seem to confuse young people. Bisexual means sexual attraction to both (bi means two) SEXES. Biological males and females.
If you enjoy sex with multiple or all genders, you are pansexual.
This was such a fun video! I had a blast watching this, and I LOVE your laughter haha. I like the idear of using the wheel to randomize rooms or buildings, I think I will start use that more - perhaps even when creating Sims to shake things up.
personally I feel like flags are just things people can use to help express their identities, not everyone needs to wave their flag around but some people do and thats a way they can show that they are proud of their identity.
Bears are just another type of gay person, kind of like twink but the opposite.
GenderFluid people are people who feel like their gender changes, its not something that they choose depending on what theyre doing but how theyre feeling in themselves
I first thought that the pansexual flag was the former flag of Spain (red-yellow-purple). My favourite ice hockey club literally uses the same design as that conservative straight flag, but the team is probably the most pro-LBGT of the Finnish league.
So many of those flags are hyper niche so for them to not have the gay one is deliberate.
