I've been dedicated to a Sims 3 family for at least a year and am at about gen 8-10, there is definite inbreeding both from the same generation and different generations.
@@SatchOnSims I have been working for a goth family family tree since I believe July of this year it started with well of course Mortimer, Bella, Cassandra, and Alexander but onto it. I added suspected brothers and sisters of Mortimer’s father, Gunther and Gunther and Cornelia seven generations later, the current household leader, literally married the person I added in to be like royalty, because I love having royalty in the Sims, and now because family is royalty, and all other branches are now nobility, and since I love playing with a cold for some reason I had to make like almost everybody a vampire besides from one branch, so Alexander is still fucking alive as a vampire even though his daughter is already dead, which makes me happy that Alexander still alive because every once in a while, I open up Aleksandar and it makes me feel like I reached a goal because he still alive and he has met all of these generations. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Cassandra‘s husband was the Grim Reaper course and you can’t have babies with him. I did do random genetics for their daughter the Grim Reaper still alive, so I literally just added Cassandra back to the family had him move out of the house with Cassandra with Cassandra being a ghost because I was so annoyed with him. I kind of feel bad for the dtitching, the Grim Reaper like that though. Anyways, my youngest generation is about to have a baby which will make it eight generations now then again, this isn’t that impressive since I’ve been playing it since July I’ve also been on short lifespan, so it isn’t that impressive. I still do miss Cassandra’s children, Kyla, and her husband, Isaac. Rip 😭 they were literally my everything.
15 generations in the Sims 3, with almost 100 sims. That was until the saved world was lost. I even kept the entire family tree on record (paper and pen) 👍🏻
@@summerwall It had an error when I loaded it and was unplayable. I didn't know at the time that I could copy the world. But even then, I don't think the problem would have fully gone away
when i discovered CC, i spent like three days getting tons of stuff and then another day dedicated to male CC (which is hard to fine decent stuff that I liked)
I love the Welcome Wagon, because it means free food. And when you're playing a rags to riches storyline, having free food that never goes bad is so useful.
I managed to do a 14 generations (so far) over 3 years. I had to install a mod at some point that is tracking the relatives for me to prevent inbreeding, it really is impossible without the mod and creating new Sims as spouses. Almost everyone is related in some way.
My longest save right now is only on generation 3. It is a spell caster save and I spent a LOT of time building out the world. I made Newcrest into another section of Glimmerbrook, have a Spellcaster Academy with different “houses,” different Spellcaster cliques, what is essentially the Spellcaster government consisting of the most powerful members, a group for the sages, etc. although I like the familiars, I like the idea of animal familiars and so I made a familiar shop in which a Spellcaster goes to bond with a cat (cats get bred on-site and so are multi-generational for realism) and that is their familiar. It’s just a lot of fun fleshing out worlds and lore
I am on gen 7 with my family (playing for 6 months IRL) and I love it!! The closest thing that I did with relationships were two young adults that got married and their parents were cousins. Don‘t know if they are still related 🤷🏻♀️
I stopped playing Sims 4 before the end of it's first year, but in Sims 3 I've played the Alphabet challenge which of course 26 generations (about 3 years for me since I would take breaks). My avg is 10 generations per playthrough on sims 3. About 5 avg in Sims 2 since I do rotational play, which takes FOREVER!
I wasnt even morbid with intention but I thought having a graveyard on your lot was the nicest looking thing ever for some odd reason. I would cheat the cow plant and just put it out on the street for random townies to get eaten by
I'm a builder who has this problem where I need to build a perfect world for my Sims before I start playing. The problem is that I never get to play because I'm always trying to build something new, so I would say I haven't gotten past 2 generations as well.
As a kid playing the sims on my laptop I had the burning problem too. I actually had this little lap desk that had two fans on the inside, the lap desk was clear so you could see the fans, and you powered it by plugging its cord into the laptops USB port
I relate to spending hours downloading custom content, but I have such a problem with downloading cc and mods that I wind up never actually playing the game. Like I go in and test everything out, reconfigure settings and whatnot, then turn it off lmao and repeat the cycle with every update bc mods are just like that
It always takes me SO LONG to transition to the new sims game. I remember first playing the sims 4 & getting really confused with the new build/buy mode system, so I turned it off after an hour and went back to the sims 3. I think it took me like two years or more to actually start playing on the sims 4 and now I can't imagine playing any other version even tho I owned them all at some stage (sims 4 is the only version I haven't gotten all the packs as who can afford that)
I once made 4 generations of vampires and since they don't age and the game can't recognise relatives pass the grandparents (in game, tho it shows on the family tree) I found my sim flirting with her great grandmother
So far, six!! I had some hard times to play the sims continuously because I keep finishing the aspirations every new generation and get bored of the routine pffffft my secret recipe is that I try to have some limitations during the gameplay like 1 pack = 1 generation. The idea will keep on flowing😘😘
when i first found out about CC i stopped playing the sims i just spent hours downloading stuff and then by the end of my mass downloading i was so tired/bored of it that i didn't end up playing the sims then i would play the sims and find loads of things i didn't really like or was broken so i spent hours combing through my cc to get rid of it :))))
I played my sim (only her) from the day I bought the sim 4, and I pre-ordered the base game, so about 10 years already. When vampire wasn't a thing yet, I made food for her immortal. Now she is a hybrid between vampire and witch then.
I swear, TSR where I get all my clothing mods takes absolutely forever to get all the clothes downloaded. Some of them are also broken and they are still being put up. It is really hard to see which ones are broken or not so you end up with like 10 or more clothes that you can't put on your sims. Then there is the 15 second wait for the 2 second delay before you can even download it via TSR. It is so dumb to force people to get the vip version. Not to mention they put all the vip stuff on the front few pages, so you have to go so far back to even find the free content and the free content doesn't look as good as the paid stuff.
I have a sims 3 save file (my first game ever actually) that has 16 different blood related cousins around town, and the goths died years ago so its now the Flug family there living with ghosts. Also cemeteries can get full.
I think in the sims 3 the longest I lasted was 3, maybe 4 generations. Like a lot of people I get obsessed with the game for a few days/weeks/months before dropping it for an extended period of time, so my legacy families are limited by the time of my hyperfixation. After that I'll start a new family because I have no idea what's happening in my storyline after however long it's been.
Some times, you just NEED to turn all autonomy OFF. Like, in the cake eating situation. Using MCCC, you can have as many Sims present on any lot as you want. Yes, it's possible to have 200 Sims present on the lot at the same time. You can ALSO set the maximum size of a family to 100 if you want.
once in the sims I had a welcome wagon and bob and Eliza came over. turns out the fruitcake Eliza gave my sim was poisoned and she died so the child killed Eliza.
Lmao that used to happen to me when I played sims 3 on laptop too (burning hot). And sometimes you'd be so engrossed in the game that you wait till its absolutely unbearable till you take it off your legs xD and then wonder wtf you are doing with your life lol

I don't even know how many generations I'm up to at this point, it'll be over 20. But the save file I have, I don't stay with the same family all the time. It's officially my scenarios save, so I just use it to do scenarios and every so often I'll just play with a family or test out new pack features. Everyone in town is related in some way. Whenever my sim's meet someone new and get married I'll discover that they're third cousins or something. The family I'm currently playing, both the parents are descended from the Goths and Landgraabs.
