      @@crilf5830 I like that. I think your first sentence is arbitrarily true to most definitions of satire, but does someone need to experience trauma to reflect on society?
      Maybe so. I think about the Buddha leaving his palace for the first time and the four reflections.

    Keep singing Jesse. You are true grass roots artist in America. Singing about love is easy, 99% of artists chose this path. Singing about the bad and the ugly, the pain and treachery, stupidity and common sense is tough. I like you melody, your voice and great guitar playing skills. Your wicked and sarcastic and smart lyrics are awesome. Never stop singing Jesse, never stop.

    I thought this was going to be terrible, but damn it’s really good! Anyone that’s done fentanyl or has someone in their life who’s addicted to it can relate. It will take down anyone - every race, rich, poor, employed, disabled, homeless. It does not discriminate one bit. All it takes is two days of use and your body is hooked, and the withdrawal symptoms are so miserable and painful it’ll make make you do insane things just to get well. Currently I have cancer and have been going through chemotherapy treatment for 3.5 years, and I can tell you that cancer pain and the misery caused by the chemo is NOTHING compared to some hardcore opioid withdrawal. Pray for the addicts, pray they find the strength to get clean. They’re not all loser burnouts, some are your friends, your neighbors, your brother or sister, etc. - they need help and compassion. If they can’t recover they could die any day, and being stuck like that leaves you feeling so hopeless. It’s quite tragic.

      Heroin is bad enough - if fentanyl is worse I truly pity those who made the mistake of trying it. My life has been ruined by smack - but in the end, it was my choice...

    • @piercehubbard4086
      @piercehubbard4086 8 місяців тому +1

      @@JohnThomas-i4x - I think fentanyl withdrawals are just more intense but shorter than heroin. To be honest as a long time opioid addict, I don’t really like fentanyl. It’s fully synthetic so there’s no part of the opium poppy in it, all it does is just sedates you and it wears off so quick you have to keep doing more. I preferred heroin because I loved that relaxed high where you’re just so at peace, scratching your nose and relaxing. Sorry, not trying to trigger you! Fentanyl sucks and people that are opioid naive tend to OD so easily. It’s like opioid crack, you have to take a hit every five minutes. I’m with you too, I did this to myself. I started using OxyContin at 21, then heroin at 23 right as I graduated college. I’m 39 now with cancer and it seems like those 18 years flew by in a few months. I wasted my youth and now my health is paying the toll quite young.

    • @WeekndWarriorrr
      @WeekndWarriorrr 8 місяців тому

      @@piercehubbard4086You're right about everything except for the withdrawal being shorter. I was addicted to heroin, got clean for a couple years and when I relapsed all you could find was fentanyl. The withdraws last longer than heroin but start sooner. Granted I'm sure it varies person to person, and how much you're using plays a part as well. I used to be able to detox from heroin in 5 or 6 days, but Fent always took 8 to 10 days. It's purely synthetic so the body doesn't know how to break it down as effectively as it does opiates that are natural or semisynthetic like morphine and heroin.

      That evil drug claimed my brother two years ago. I almost wish I could blame him for choosing to use illegal substances in the first place, but I know all too well that he never truly had a choice in the matter. When you're in unbearable pain, whether it be physical or emotional, or even, as in his case, both, and every doctor you encounter is virtually begging you to accept the blissful relief that a little tablet can provide, it's virtually impossible to turn the offer down for long.
      The pharmaceutical companies assured our doctors, who in turn assured their patients, that so long as the pain was real, addiction was a virtual impossibility. As we all now know...
      THEY LIED! Ending countless lives and utterly destroying far more.
      Fortunately, they've had their knuckles ever so gently smacked for doing so.

    I got addicted to pain pills in high school around 2012 after a string of dental surgeries. I was on the horse till about 2018 when all my friends started dying from fentanyl (some of them right in front of me). I came to the realization that it just wasn’t a sustainable lifestyle. I’m a totally normal dude, came from a good family, no huge glaring trauma, I always had a job, a home, paid my bills but I knew I’d either die or lose everything. I’ve lost track of how many people close to me died. Fentanyl is particularly bad because no one survives, in addict circles there used to be those guy who were called veterans. Dudes who used heroin for 10, 20 years, with fentanyl that doesn’t happen. If you take those kinda drugs you get addicted and eventually die, there’s no way around it. I’ve been in recovery for about 6 years now but it’s something that never really leaves you and in a sick way I still miss the pills sometimes.
