This guy messed up a lot of things about the game. Chapter one is the mountains, you get the carbine repeater, cattleman revolver, your fists, bow, and sawed off shotgun. Chapter two is when you get off the mountain you unlock the rest of the guns he said.
I killed the vampire with a fire arrow made the dagger disappear I was bummed until I went to the fence in saint danis he had it for sale so I hope it helps anyone else if they missed it maybe it will be there for you as well
I'll mention that at least one weapon you can get later if you mess it up. I forgot to take the Ornate Dagger from the vampire and threw him off the pier. I saw the dagger at the bottom of the water. I was later able to buy it from the fence! It simply read, "a dagger taken from the body of a stranger" when I saw it in the fence's list.
You can acquire the machete in Chapter 2 during the mission where you rescue Sean from the bounty hunters. Charles will be fighting a man with a machete on the cliff and if you shoot him then run up there you can get it much earlier.
No LeMat Revolver, no Buffalo Rifle, no Evans Repeater, no High Power Pistol in the epilogue and no OP Explosive Rifle, but please have 8 hatchets and 7 knives instead.
@@BosSupes The high power pistol is based of the FN Model 1903 which was created in well 1903 so it would exist by the epilogue. And I'm talking about the op explosive rifle from rdr1 that would turn enemies into pools of blood not the explosive wet farts we have in rdr2.
@@BosSupes No it's not both guns look similar but it's based of the model 1903. Compare the high power pistol to the 1903 and you see the clear resemblance.
R* recently announced that some new weapons are coming soon, to Online, within a month at least. I'm hoping that they add in some of the weapons from the first game. I personally hope they add in the weapons you listed, because those were the best ones. I also hope that they don't super nerf them like they did to most of the weapons from the first game.
@@caoimhinmccann4449 They do not make the guns exactly like the real guns they are based on. I mean they do more than just changing the name for some of them for the sake of avoiding copyright infringement with the modern companies still producing the weapons. I asked on a site about some of the guns in this game towards actual antique collectors. They point out most of them are superficially exactly like the real world counterparts physically. I mean like one area on the cattleman revolver might not have been shaped in the common way they often find them manufactured. Another weapon might have a few less screws on the side. The guns in this game is roughly based on random glances of guns. Meaning, yeah... it might resemble that one gun you might find a picture of, but it is still not exactly that gun. Each gun's appearance and design is really a random culmination guns that look like, "That type of thing," you see existing around that time. In other words the guns are vaguely based on random stuff. So it might look more like a 1903 but it really isn't. It's more like the stereotype semi-automatic pistol you see popping out of America during this period. I think you can even find a pistol maybe in 1900 or in the 1899-1902 range where it resembled that style of hand gun too. I mean people in other countries have actually taken them and studied them in Europe around this time. It is in documented. Here are links to them proving my point. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_M1902 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_M1900 The stereotype browning semi we see is really the product of trial and error and improvement on the previous over time. They could have included a pistol like this. They just... didn't. I think it is because they either did not know this info, or this was one of those cases of the, "creator's creative vision," doing critical thinking about it. They might have decided to exclude it since it might have felt too modern or out of place to them personally. I predict a dlc though. The same with the lemat
Shame they didn't come up with some more varied melee weapons. So many boring hatchets. And you can't even customize them like the knife ☹ Wish they'd have made more bows too or at least let us customize it or make our own with different woods/varnishes/carvings etc. I also wish carvings/engravings were just better in general. They all suck IMO, though there is a decent skulls one for the knife, but that's it.
@@trippatgu_6288 Ohh I see sorry. Yeah that's true that we don't use them as much, but if they're gunna have that many of them to collect, they could have made some more different ones rather than all hatchets. And they're cool for different outfits i.e pirate sword with pirate outfit (theres not enough gear to make a Viking one :(). And knives can always be seen on your character, which again adds to your costume. The vampire gold one for example I wear with smart clothes, whereas the bone knife I wear with a light coloured outdoors outfit i.e white bison helm etc. I mean they went to all the trouble to make all of these weapons, I just think if they'd have made more varied ones that effort would have been more worth it. Though I guess we'll see a lot more gear on the online part of the game, just like GTA5.
You can actually get your hands on a Mauser Pistol in Chapter 4. While playing “Revenge is a dish best eaten”, Bronte will throw his pistol at you. After John knocks him unconscious, simply find the pistol on the ground and pick it up.
Idk why there are so many hatchets and melee weapons when I'm just gonna pull the Lancaster out each time. Fantastic guide by the way, I love how you linked the locations together.
I like the LeMat revolver. I think it's one of the newer weapons they added to the game in an update. It has a secondary barrel, a shotgun barrel. So you can switch to that single shotgun round when ever you want. It's "one" of the most power revolvers in the game I think. The LeMat revolver is also in the HBO TV series Westworld.
correction - the mauser pistol can be picked up for free within the mission where you kill angelo bronte in chapter 4. when you raid has mansion ans find him hiding in a bath, he pulls his the pistol on you and then throws it on the floor: pick this up before you pick his body up (you can't drop him). this is very useful as the mauser pistol is one of the most expensive weapons in the game x
Quick note: You only need to find dinosaur locations to start the mission. You send them to the right person regardless of the fact that technically Arthur/John doesn't really know who wants them.
PureFingClass yeah it’s really convenient isn’t it having to toggle through all those weapons on your horse... let us store weapons r* I don’t need more than one repeater, handgun, rifle and shotgun ALSO let us remove that shitty off hand holster
@@UA-camcanbitemyhairybanger I'd say it's less convenient to have to go all the way back to camp to grab a weapon you would otherwise just walk to your horse for.
PureFingClass well that is true but as they say if you fail to prepare then prepare to fail. So for you it's far more convenient to have all those unique handguns rare shotgun and rolling block that are worse than a fully upgraded normal weapon. Also if we were able to carry the minimum amount of weapons then maybe you wouldn't exit a cut scene to find that it's replaced your fully upgraded favourite gun (which btw increases it's stats) for something that you aren't as familiar with. Also there's no need to return all the way to camp you could retrieve weapons at the gunsmith via some sort of cloud storage and yeah I know immersion but you have this same method to equip weapons on your horse even if your horse is miles away out of whistling range
Yeah but those weapons you find are usually beat to shit even after you clean them. You can get the double automatic revolver when you rob the house with Sean and when you rob the house with Javier I believe it's the semi automatic shotgun
Justin DiMarzo u dont have to wait for the missions to take those guns. as soon as i got to chapter 2 on my second playthrough i went to the ginseng farm and took the shotgun and also to that house near pleasance and took the double action revolver
You can also get Micah's revolver when you find the O'Driscolls camp Chapter 1. You get an enemy npc to follow you and then hide near Micah to make them fight. At some point Micah drops his revolver and you can pick it up.
Just so you all know - the vampire does respawn if you get killed by him. I was destroyed first and was freaking out because I didn’t think I could get the dagger anymore. But wait a couple days and he will be right back in the spot
Customized dual Schofields, long barreled, Same for repeating rifle, and repeating shotgun. Did the same for my .22 rifle. You're gonna have more fire power than any of those legendary guns you can't customize. But they're still cool to have.🙂
You can get the semi-auto shotgun at Watson's Cabin by Hanging Dog Ranch in north west West Elizabeth. Enter the cabin. The old lady will confuse Arthur/John for someone else, telling them to put the stuff in the basement. Climb down the ladder into the basement. The Semi-Auto Shotgun is in the case. The weapon will respawn in the Epilogue. You can pickup both the Machete and the Bolt Action Rifle in the Ch2 mission 'The First Shall Be Last'. 1 - Shoot the first guy on the left up the canyon before the Bounty Hunters are alerted for the Bolt Action Rifle. 2 - Shoot the guy struggling with Charles up on the ridge for the Machete.
The Bolt Action Rifle can be obtained for free from npcs as soon as you start chapter 2 (for instance any public hanging will drop one) and the Carcano Rifle can be obtained through Uncle's "Rustling" side mission in chapter 4. The BAR and Machete can also be picked up from npcs in the chapter 2 mission "The First Shall Be Last''.
@@life_of_riley88 Considering we are talking about a game that doesn't have any firearms labeled as "Browning", and the fact that in my post I capitalized "Bolt Action Rifle" (as it is in-game), it's ludicrous to even imagine that I meant anything of the sort. Not to mention that Browning didn't even produce an "automatic rifle" until 1918, which is long after the timeline of RDR2.
You can find the Lancaster Repeater in as earlier as chapter 2 with the random event at the Rhodes gunsmith Semi Auto Shotgun can be found as well with the home robbery with the old woman the pump action shotgun with the home robbery with Javier and the Scofield revolver in the robbery at the doctor's office if you look in the window in the back of the building
Honestly I’ve just been taking my time with this game because I know the ending (got spoiled for me so I watched videos). I bought it in November and didn’t have an Xbox until 3 weeks ago. Been just hunting all the animals (trying to complete the animal compendium and get all the trapped gear), customizing weapons, finding secrets, and doing strangers. I’m about to start the moonshine mission before too long. I just wanna savor my time with Arthur and do as much as I can with that Boah
I'm just fishing, honestly. That is the sign of a good game to me, where you can just wake up, get coffee, go hunting, go fishing, go back to camp, drop off food, go to the trapper, sell your pelts, hunt and fish some more, come back, play poker, and end your day. I did that and was completely satisfied with it.
It's fucking frustrating that unique items disappear forever if you didn't pick them up Like why the fuck that old ass rusty knife that lied there since fucking civil war would magically evaporate when you leave the area Rockstar sometimes...
You can go back to the location of the weapon you lost (given we're talking the weapons you physically find and not looted from a dead body) to retrieve them if you lose them. Just saying, they are not gone forever in this case.
You can also get a Mauser pistol in a chapter 4 mission called “Revenge is a dish best served” can be found near where John was stood when bronte threw it at johns head
I love running with johns unique cattleman, the granger revolver and the antler knife. All of the grips are bone so they allways work with every outfit and look amazing. I have actually name the guns The outlaws ladies.
Jamie Holt Eh there was variety, but 1899 was a point in time between the black powder and smokeless powder era so you got a whole variety of guns. Only a few were successful, like colt revolvers and Winchester rifles. Oddly enough, the carbine repeater is based off of the Spencer repeater in real life, which was used in the Civil war.
I have to admit, I was surprised at the lack of guns in the game to be fair. It's not much different to RDR1 though. And if it's anything like GTAV.. They're saving all the vareity and creativity for onlines lifespan
Should’ve mentioned the semi auto shotgun, Lancaster repeater and a schofield can all be found in chapter 2 for free in the game. (Semi auto in old lady’s basement, Lancaster repeater in Rhodes gun shop basement, schofield in box in back of pharmacy in Valentine)

In the beggining of the mission john gives you money to go buy it from the gunsmith in valentine and you get to keep it afterwards.

Something you didn't mention is that if you do the Double Action Revolver mission in gta online, the cattleman revolver gets replaced with it during chapter 2, you still have the cattleman don't worry
On multiple playthroughs I have killed that hermit over and over and never, not even once, has the hat been a savable item. Even in this video you can plainly see it isn't flashing on the ground. Why don't you tell us the name of the item that showed in the notification when you picked it up?
This is BS. The hat doesn’t glow; so therefore it is not considered a special item that would fall under the “stolen hat” category. And yes I’ve picked up this hat and checked Arthur’s closet. A glowing hat is an indicator on the ground that the hat will end up in your closet if you lose it. With this hat, yes, it is unique; yes, you can grab his hat. NO, it will not respawn in your closet when you inevitably lose it
I got the Rare Rolling Block Rifle on complete accident, obviously i saw the gun and picked it up on purpose, but i shot the sniper and went in the building completely oblivious to what i was about to find.
It’s a treasure hunt, if you complete it your rewarded a decorated double action revolver in both gta online and rdr2 story and if you get 50 headshots with it in gta online you get $40,000. It’s pretty cool and you feel like a cowboy when you use it.
I found the pump shotty In the first chapter during my second time playing through the game. Rob the homestead with Javier and check upstairs in the main cabin. Trust me. You can access this mission at the base camp on horseshoe outlook.
that's Chapter 2 Eastwood Bound. its the first time you gained free roam aspect as all Chapter 1 isn't like free roam. also can just go there Chez Porter even before mission with Javier. but with Javier you just got extra money/valuables

The high power didn't exist in 1907 lol and any rifle can be explosive
Here are links to them proving my point.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_M1902
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_M1900
The stereotype browning semi we see is really the product of trial and error and improvement on the previous over time.
U don’t need to melee that much
Just stealth
The knife is more of a utility anyway
@@trippatgu_6288 What has what you've just said got to do with what I said?
They don’t need to make varied melee weapons
Even though they did
Ex. The pirate sword and Viking hatchet
Because you don’t use them as much as guns
