If it comes to it, you might consider crowd-funding your legal cost. I'd support the cause in a heartbeat! Also thanks for all you do for the community!! Can't wait for my 4.1!! ❤🎉❤❤🎉❤
I really appreciate that! We're hoping it won't come to that, but the thought is wonderful! At the end of the day we're just going to try to build the best machine that we can, and win that way.
I trust the name "Maslow CNC" because of the many years I've followed you building trust for name. When I see "Maslow" your CNC equipment is typically what I think of. For years I've been sent friends and family to the name "Maslow CNC" for that reason. Sometimes it's just a text with the name "Maslow CNC". For a year I stopped planning to move from the city, but when I imagined having a private garage again, I came back and was glad to find you on the web by the name I remembered. I would follow you to a new name, but I would be disappointed to see you forced to give up the inherent value of the brand you've built.
Hi Bar, I admire your philosophical attitude to the needless trademark issue with MakerMade. As a backer, I would be willing to chip in to the court costs, if it came to it.. I am sure others would also.
Fight the good fight. You are doing good work. Pushing the envelope on technology and creating something of value. Don’t get distracted by those other copy clowns. I am looking forward to upgrading my Maslow CNC and whipping out some cool projects for all to see.
Appreciate the regular updates. We all know how Sod's/Murphy's law works... Am looking forward to receiving the upgrade kit after Chinese New Year, cheers!
I think protecting your name is important. You've built trust and brand recognition on that name. Anything sketchy they do under that name could reflect on you. Rebranding will at least cause confusion and previous articles referencing you could also seem like they're for the other company. If you somehow lose, it might be worth contacting all those publications, and channels like Tested, to see if that can do an update on the articles and videos (at least links in descriptions of videos). Do not underestimate the potential damage/cost of a name change. I've seen content creators lose a large chunk of their audience when they try to rebrand because people don't recognize them. Think of it this way, the reason they're willing to fight you is because there is value associated with your brand. Not only that, but the reason they purchased the company they did was apparently because they thought that brand was part of the package, even though the seller never had the rights to the brand name. Final thought, part of the reason you were able to raise so much more than you were asking for in the latest Kickstarter is because of your brand. I'm using brand and name as if they mean the same thing, which isn't quite accurate. However, your company name is a big part of your brand. You might want to consult with an expert on what the impact could be so you can get a better idea of what your brand is worth. That is how much money is it worth to fight for your brand name? This is aside from the intangible value of not letting them get away with stealing your company name.
Bar, thanks for the update, and your excellent message to stay positive-minded in what we do. Happy New Year to you too! I really cannot believe Maker made are not only continuing to be difficult but have now escalated their outrageous claim. I fully support you in standing firm. Such an obviously clear case that you are the creator and founder of Maslow...
what your doing is great, keep up the great work. as an idea to avoid court, is do a big name change. make sure everyone knows this is your new name. anyway i hope you can handle the stress of dealing with thoes greedy idiots

Let’s show these MakerMade parasites , unbelievable what they are trying to do there

I agree, it would be a bummer to have to change the name, but I'm optimistic it's not going to come to that.
Happy you're not going to roll over for those Maker Made people. Sorry that you have to go to court over it.
Thanks! I'm kind of excited to see how the legal process works. We are for sure not going to roll over.

Thank you! That is an incredibly generous offer! By backing us you already have!

Thank you! Not getting distracted and making cool projects is the goal for 2025 :D

I agree, it's just unfortunate that it has to be a fight at all
@maslowcnc Good luck!
I'm personally hoping for the best for 2025 too, have a great new year Bar!
Appreciate the update. Doesn't seem to matter what party you go to, there's always a turd in the punch bowl. Good luck.
LOL, such is life!

Yes. Crowdfunding for legal fees.
Hopefully we won't need it, but the offer is incredibly generous!
Let them have "Maslow CNC"; trademark "Original Maslow CNC" for yourself.

That's the worst case scenario, but it wouldn't be the end of the world :)
Watch the movie "The burial" with Tommy Lee Jones, maybe you can get some tips on how to win over big companies. If nothing else, it's a good movie.❤
Thanks for the recommendation!
Use an "AI Lawyer" to backup/check the lawyer you use. Perhaps an open source AI Lawyer is all you need to defend an open source project?
We live in exciting times 😃
Hi Bar, ask for money to run the lawsuit. Make them regret it!
