In this video i make 2 Damascus Japanese style knifes. the handle material is RAFFIR STRIPES. the steel is 1095 and 15n20
I really like how these two knives came out. let me know what you think.
Love this "simple" Pattern! Looks so real. Well done man :)
thansk bro :)
I just received your knife, I must say it's a work of art and truly beautiful, the edge on it is really great it cuts wonderfully, thanks
i got triggered that you have a huge ass press + anvil, but didnt try and thin out the blade prior to grinding 70% of it away!
Going through the trouble of forge welding, why not forge to shape? Definitely could've saved a lot of material by forging to at least a rough shape.
Slave to his hydraulic press instead of his anvil.
@@NotQuiteEpic he could atleast forge in the bevels
Kids now days all they know the only way to shape knives is from belt
Some of them not even use hammer
first
Joe the Builder XD, awesome, nice knife and good video, grettings from Mexico bro 👍😉
Sinner Snake thansk bro🤙
Joe the Builder what is the white powder??? is that baking soda??
shut yo mouth it is borax AS flux
Joe the Builder , please check k above post, mine. I had a sub to your builds also.
Def. more subs deserved. Really nice skills, beautiful knife tho :)
Why cut it and not forge it? You have a hammer and an anvil? Lots of waste, yeah you might be able to make canister damascus or fittings with it or something, but after taking the time to make a billet, why not just forge out the knife? Plus your pattern will flow better and not look like it's cut off at the end.
Very nice Kiritsuke knives. What did you end up with as a final spine thickness?
Joe very, very nice job congratulations keep up the good work, and have a nice day.
Can't believe you just ground it out after all that work making Damascus
It was painful to watch right...
Baker Street Forge shirt !
Beautiful workmanship!!
huh, you're logo looks alot like the logo that the hacksmith uses
That looks fucking amazing holy shit :0
Good job. A beautiful knife!
Peep the barker street forge shirt 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice job!
this made me subscribe, great work
hello my friend, first of all congratulations for the beautiful work. Would you like to know if you accept orders for knives to send to Brazil?
MARCIO KIRK yes I do
you can check the link to my webshop in the description
THANK YOU, I'M ALREADY ACCESSING
Joe, can you made a bowie machete or a throwing handle axe?, please bro, have a nice day 👍😉
Sinner Snake Throwing axes are illegal here in Denmark
Rasmus Vestergaard, o well, sorry :(, no sabia eso
Looks amazing! I do have one question. Isn't it good practice to clean the planks before forge welding? Does that help reduce inclusions? I'm no Smith by any means. I'm just captivated by the hobby.
Nhìn là quá thích rồi
LOVE THAT DAMASCUS .... KNIVES ....! GREAT VIDEO ....
Why are you making so big billet for souch as thin knives and making so much waste by grinding 90% of the knife you have nice workshop i think you can forge it closer to shape with no problem because now you are more of grinder than blacksmith ,but still nice knives
Wonderful profesional Handwork.
Respekt Man ... 👏👏👏👏💪
Not bad, looking good. But note that damask should be with much more layer. As many layer than better knife. Good luck!
Beautiful minimalist pattern
Great job man
yes please i would love to buy one of your knives, can i have a short video of my knife being made also, that would be so cool to see the actual knife i’m buying being made,
3:43 i think you could use some smaller front wheels for your grinder to fling of more sparks instead of having them go around and hitting you in the face.
Great Job, Joe!
Great video and wonderful looking knives, thank you for the posting.
I like the work you put into this knife and it does look nice however, I think it would look better if you had folded the steel a few more times but I know that this takes a lot of work to do and I do still think that the knife looks nice
Can you ship it to Portugal? How mutch for a knife like that?
How much is knife?
Beautiful, a true work of art. Thank you for sharing. 👍
At minute 1:07, what is that white powder for? What we call it?
Dedicate .bravo
Using magnet..wow.

What all can be in place e of the typical hamon product. I have a mini forge, I'm learning while dying from a brain tumor and have my first blade almost rsy where I can apply one. What else can be used.?
®ick
platinumpimp1975 you can use "gun gum" exhaust sealant to create a hamon. I saw Alec Steele do that on his falchion project.
Remco van Vliet 10-4 my friend. I'll be on the look out for it. Build and make'em sharp.
®ick
platinumpimp1975 you can find the gun gum at the autoparts store. Gun gum is the brand name, it's regular use is to seal up leaky exhausts.
Thanks for the response. I've worked all my life for Goodyear, Bridgestone, Perelli and never heard of it. This be fun to find. I'll look. Also thinking, about the consistency etc. I'm working an 11 in chopper in a tatnto style nose. My min forge is the width of a wasp spray can. Two inch thick. So high heat but minimal area to heat up. I'm wondering if it will lower my all together total hest before quench. My first blade of mystery metal came out genuineness, working on it's handle. But this monster I wanna hamon I'm worried on... May have to get it hotter some way.
And thank you that responded!!
that knife looks really amazing, but next time i would make any kind of mechanical assembling method
Do you sell your knives?
yes my webshop is linked in the description
Thanks you make stunning blades you deserve a sub, also would you do a custom damascus gyuoto knife?
Awesome I went on your page and just bought that knife on your page, cant wait to get it
@@mikehuntsmels9680 thanks man
This is not a real forging you shouldn't use the angle grinder to shape your blade it's a great work but not a traditional forging
I invite you to make a real damaskus knife. Of course cast iron.
