WOW folks the trim looks great around the windows nice finished look , And hey I like budget friendly projects I feel that is the smart way to go , I didn't notice the difference with the wood trim all looked good to me 🙂 You two and the pups are a joy to watch . Wild turkeys are called a flock. Domestic turkeys are known as a gaggle.
You could shim upper and lower pieces with 1/4 inch furring strips. Only the really tall and super short would ever notice.

You appear to be correct on both terms, wild turkeys are a flock and domestic are called a gaggle. Birdzilla didn't say why.
It is amazing what one can learn to do if they choose to. I was a jack of all trades, but back in the day, you had to use trial and lots of errors, or go to the library and find things that pop up on Google in an instant now. I suppose I can still do a lot for a disabled 78 year old. Good video editing is my biggest challenge the past year though because I mess up, get mad and quit instead of sticking with it.

Hi Guys, so I am watching from the beginning, glad to see Jay hasn’t slid down anymore ladders. (Scary stuff). I am surprised that after Jay got the fireplace working he didn’t buy a cot and sleeping bag and just stay in the cabin instead of walking back to the trailer. I think Jay did an excellent job building the cabin. Jen we never saw your reaction to the green metal panels.

Great job Jay! The different variations in the colors give the wood more character. It's actually nice that they aren't all the same. When does turkey season start? Are you ready!? The dirty old man from alaska wishing Jen a happy birthday. The wood used around those windows is real wood, not a plastic unlike someones idea to sell a bird poop concoction, resembles wood and you feel good till its just puddy on the wall from any moisture. Your gas cook stove is propane and so all the water from evaporation is death to that junk. I watch a lot of timeless old western movies that show craftsmanship of their times. I have learned from them a good many things as time changes but the rules are the same. Like guys vision a woman naked and a woman sees a guy in nice clothes. I hear corndog and think horndog, just my old fashion habits showing theirself. I married a woman whom I still love, just not in love with finally after forty years this year. Divorce made me a ugly person and now know what it feels like to wish I had just said "I'm sorry". Much too late for any kind of figuring things out and just wish my mouth had the ability to not get me in trouble. I still cuss like a drunk and smoke... wishing that I had never started that or ever drank when my lady said goodbye. I wasn't a drinker or even drank at the time of our divorce, actually had quit drinking for nine years before my mouth got me in trouble. Times might change but those darn rules stay the same. I found that while men forgive, women remember and thats the time of all downhill issues started. I should of never needed to say "sorry" but can't undo what I messed up. No cheating or messing around, just hard times an money was so hard to come by. I had found a great job and making more money per month than I had in six months before so worked seven days a week, forgot to say lets just take a drive or go swimming. Yes you can swim in the summer here in alaska. Just think of shallow waters or a public pool. I see the east coast has blooms on their trees while a dusting of snow and a few freezing nights. You saw pretty birds and I saw a meal walking around picking up bugs and such. I haven't hunted or killed anything for around thirty years. I just could not get past all the death in vietnam. I don't pretend that meat grows from seed in the supermarket, I know how sad it is to see a animal in small areas raised for their meat and other stuff as the only thing that goes to waste in a meat factory is the final fart given. Just hug each other, pay attention to the little things and neither of you will feel that need to say sorry. I apologize for my too long comment and thinking I know everything... as I am just a old man thinking about what I could of done

It doesn't matter what other people think about your wood work. If you are happy with it, that's what counts and that's all that matters. I always thought that wild turkeys were very secretive and wouldn't come around in the day time close to people or their homes. Guess that I was wrong. Thanks for the update on your cabin!
