- We bought our dream barndominium! Here is the first tour of our barndominium before we move in and make it our own.
Brand new 3,000+ square foot garage with attached house. We cannot wait to build our cars and trucks in this garage. I will share many more videos once we start the garage constrution. We will share what we love, hate and think about living in a barndominium.

One of the first things you should do for those closets is to install Heavy Duty Closet Organizer System. The ones that have a vertical attachment that you can then put in shelf, drawer, or what ever and change things as you need to. Trust me, you will be thankful! They are sold at Lowes, Home Depot and other places and are attached on the studs and hold about 90 lbs. per foot.

100% agree. My wife had so many cloths and shoes it actually pulled away from the wall. I had to reinforce existing shelves and I added a second tier to help reduce the load.
YES, the wire shelving is mere a sketch of storage. Inevitably the wire systems always rip out of the wall just as you thinks you have it all squared away!
actually please go into basement as they are rare to see with bardominums. I want to see the lay out and piping, etc. ty

Your husband is such a big guy. I would let him have the right half of the closet and use the rest of it for yourself. He is so tall and will feel tight already, much less if you make him squish in behind the door as well. It will feel claustrophobic IMHO.

Great place, I would suggest you NOT epoxy the floor, most do not hold up. Had problems at home and work with it pulling up or wearing out. We now polish and seal the Cement floors, looks very nice and holds up and cleans up much better. Enjoy working together on your new home and take time to enjoy yourselves.
So far the floors are holding up nicely

I would keep the big door incase you decide to buy an RV in the future, my 45' 5th wheel toy hauler would fit great in there (60 feet would be better so we can drop the back door to load things). just move the lifts to a different spot and you'll have future flexibility :)

I would add one back door.. so you can drive straight through if you even needed or wanted. That is my dream... one garage where I can drive straight through with a tow vehicle and trailer... just saving time.

4:52 Nice, I didn't expect central air vents in a barn dominium.
Spay foam closed cell in the shop and you won't believe how warm and efficient that space will be...but you need insulated garage doors to keep that good. ❤

But you should really think about some way to stabilize the camera. And maby get an external mic so that you don’t smack the built in mic every time you turn the camera. And if you can, zoom out so we get a larger field of view. Your large zoom is contributing to the shaking of the camera.

Im so use to vloggers the camera didnt bother me! Are you from Michigan? You mention Ford motor. Im in Grand Rapids! My Mom old boss use to own several race cars snd she got to meet Rchard Petty, Rusty Wallace and Dale Earnhardt when they walked into his office one day! They were in for a race in August thst year, back in the late 80's. Beautuful home!! He owned seneral shops where they made car parts and ither items.

Install all the new garage doors you want but why rip out a functional high garage door just to move it?
Padlock it shut -- both top and bottom, insulate it and trim it out to match the wall which you're going to use for storage cabinets anyway. Unbolt the overhead tracks and lean them in a corner or repurpose them for one of the new doors. When you change your mind and see the wisdom of that large end door, you'll be 90 percent there.
My boyfriend has plans and he’s doing what he wants 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t think we are removing the large door anymore but we are still adding the other doors. New videos coming soon.
@@autumn.schwalbeHe did mention that he'd be removing it and covering the end wall exterior with metal sheeting ( "tin" ) like the rest of the property. There's nothing controversial about adding more garage doors along the long side of the garage. I was only pointing out that he'd be spending money to fully delete a door instead of just doing his planned interior finish around the decommissioned door on the narrow wall.
It's probably faster, cheaper and keeps all options open for the future.

It's an awesome house. But it stick framed. So I think it is a regular house. Not a barndominium. Barndominium lol or the correct saying is post frame home. They have peers for footings and poles. But after all that it's still a beautiful place.
It is stick frame due to issues in the county. The original builders couldn’t get approved for a normal barndominium. I will call it a barndominium because I like the name 😁
