198 cm for those not from US. Sweet lil tree ;) Magnificent transformation! As for the Yamadori part: wasn't that the original way of having bonsai in general? Digging it up and potting and starting to clip and grow it to gain the wanted result. I do grow trees from seed too (or buy nursery stock) , but for now my best ones are the collected ones.
Really wonderful juniper and you did grat jobb. I always love to watch your vedio. I get lost of inspiration from your restyling to my new material.
MERCI👏
Bro it's so awesome to watch you go from apprenticeship to where you are today, one of my favorite journeys on UA-cam. Much love from Aotearoa New Zealand
I watched the replanting of this tree a little over a year ago and have been waiting for an updated video. It looks amazing great job. Will be watching for the next update for sure. Thank you.
I am just blown away, the way you've managed to draw out the most exquisite features in this once in a lifetime tree is immensely inspirational. Its so easy to visualize where you are going with this design and how the tree will look as its padding out. Bravo 👏 👏 👏
I know absolutely NOTHING about bonsai, but I can see where this is going and it's soooo beautiful. The patience, commitment, and vision required for the art that is bonsai is amazing. Thank you for sharing!
Amazing. I live in central NM and this winter I collected two struggling trees off my own land--a pinion with needle scale, and a one seed juniper that was growing in the middle of a sheep pen that would otherwise be trampled to dust. I've repotted them and i'm excited to style them at some point next fall.
Wooow! Hi Bjorn, you did a great job on this wonderful juniper, very compliments! The trunk twisted with dry wood is a masterpiece! Bjorn you are the greatest bonsai master in the USA! 👍👍👍👏👏👏
Can't wait to see an update this fall, your trees that you've styled over the years are becoming characters almost on your channel, as they have been styled and develop. Keep on keeping on,
i like collected bonsai because there is so much care that goes into preserving the story of the individual. the way you talked about that little branch that was not broken through the generations showed how much respect you carry for trees as living creatures
WOW!! It is a privilege to witness a world-class artist styling a formidable piece of yamadori. Thanks Bjorn for sharing your knowledge and bonsai prowess 😊
Couldn't live to see this video ;) This tree brings to mind these famous bristlecone pines. The deadwood is unbelievable. I haven't seen something even close to this in my life. I believe that this tree will become one of the best bonsai ever under your care. Cheers from Poland and UK!
I do enjoy each new video. It’s like watching a great painter or musician at work. These pieces are both calming and interesting to visually explore. You marry the natural with the skills of a great artisan. Thanks for sharing your passion with the world.
Great Monster Björn !!! You are the Master of Junipers🧘🏼♂️ its always nice to watch your Motivation on working with trees. For me its also the best satisfaction to style trees the first time and see the transformation. In this case it was the second time but again, you did a Great Job!!! I follow you from the beginning and and learned a lot from you over the years. Just came back from a yamadori Tour and found a nice birch. Cheers from Germany
LOVE that twisted wood!! I just love the way cedar/coniferous tree trunks look in general but this one is AMAZING! can't wait to see the tree in when it's got some more growth to it! Looks great so far.
i really really love the design. it flows and just works (especially in 10-15 years). there is so much potential. great work and thank you for the video!
First, this is/will be a specimen tree. That said you cracked me up when you said "this tree has been struggling to survive for hundreds and hundreds of years..." It was probably here before we were and survived who knows how many world changing events. Beautiful tree. Looking forward to future updates.
Thanks for all the great comments! Btw, I'm 6'6" tall, so that should give some perspective on this tree's size.
Bjorn smoothly double flexing on everyone :) jk
I'm 6'8". It'll look more like a bonsai at my house. ;-p
