@@slojanko Had Windows Phones survived I'm pretty certain that iOS and Android would have been better though, as Microsoft would bring their own ideas to the table. Probably todays' Windows Phones would be a blend of Microsoft Launcher and Launcher 10.
for everyone who has Android and misses Windows tiles. I have been using the application Square Home available in the Play Store for several years. You can design your own tiled screen on it and even more. I recommend!
I have work tomorrow, and it's late, so I'll try and keep this short. I had a Lumia 650 when I was maybe 15, because it was offered as part of my family's phone plan. I genuinely believe it was the best phone I've ever had. The screen was gorgeous, it was thin and light, the camera was great, and it handled everything my 15 year old self could throw at it. One day, I stepped on it and broke the screen before a school trip, and I was gutted. It's been 7 years (Jesus) but tonight I bought one from eBay for very cheap. I know life will always be more complicated, and that's just growing up, but I think this could be a good step to simplifying things. Thank you for the lovely video 💖
Live tiles were an incredibly good idea. Windows always offered users the option to view icons as detailed, small, medium, large or tiles, so live tiles seemed like a fantastic progression - and it was so clever what they did with their logo, turning the 4 windows into a 4 live tiles symbol. I can't help but sit back sometimes and marvel at the genius that was Microsoft's software design team back then. Then along comes Windows 11 and wow was it dumb and awkward. It was such a big downgrade from Windows 10 and I can't believe they ditched the live information idea all together. They don't even give you live icons, which even iOS/macOS has these days. I think Windows Phone 10 and the Lumia brand should have continued. If Microsoft had stuck with it, even if it was operating at a loss, I think the platform would have slowly gained traction to rival Android and iOS.
I want that users should request Microsoft to start making windows phone again. Because android sucks with battery consumption while windows was great to deliver power efficient performance
I blame Steve Balmer for the failure of the windows phone. When the iPhone came out he was laughing at Apple and Google took advantage of Microsoft being stuck in their medieval minds and released Android. When MS realized their mistake, it was too late.
I had a Lumia 640 and I still miss it. It was my first smartphone, and I bought it at the end of 2016, when everyone already knew that Windows Phone would not gain the popularity it deserved. And for the first smartphone, it was incredible. I will never let go of the memory of its wonderful user-friendly home screen, smooth operation, built-in office and black theme. Even the phone app with the huge answer button was much more user friendly than any phone app I've ever seen on other phones. I would have used that phone longer, but first they closed the Microsoft Store, and then my poor thing just ran out of memory. I had to factory reset it and was heartbroken when I had to switch to Xiaomi. I never felt the same emotional connection with this phone that I had with my Windy - yes, I named my Windows Phone. I know it's weird and silly, but I actually loved him.

Actually, Google knowingly kept it's apps away from Windows Phone because it felt threatened. With Google not on-board, a lot of users looked the other way as well. And since not a lot of people were using it, others devs didn't join in. I remember back then, Google was out killing every third party app developed for UA-cam on Windows Phone whereas now, iOS and Android both have tons of such apps and they do nothing. Sadly in 2024 this phone isn't good enough to be used as a TV stand prop up which is what I use it for currently. No app support and no windows store access for the phone no updates and no social media apps in some countries no network support or data support
It's good that Windows Phone didn't do to their phones what Blackberry did. You can still enjoy the phones with very good keyboards, serviceable cameras, relatively quick phones for their specs, and for the things you mentioned.
Only if we could have responded to personal comments on Google+ and UA-cam. If you left a comment on a video, and someone sent you a message, you couldn't respond to it. You could leave another comment on the tread, put there name in it, and hope they read it. You couldn't leave a comment for someone in the comment section.. They was no response button. After i bought an android, i could repy to any comment, directly to a comment, and repy to comments sent to me. .. If windows could have understood this simple complaint, we would all be using windows phones today. Battery life lasted for ever. Connection to data and wife was amazing. The layout of the phone was second to none.. . Best phone i ever had, but that one repy to bug .

W10 was a catastrophe. It did look fanciers than W8 but had many user friendly issues. The negatives of W10 were plenty. Camera buttons got incredibly tiny, really difficult to press them. The display where you can see all open aps and close them with a large nice X was gone in W10. W10 was done by a bunch of hipsters who ruined the easy interface of W8 just for the sake of looking fancy. Instead of offering a better way to arrange the many app list or the many settings list, some dumb manager decided fancy looks were more important. We can see this kind of engineering in Google and UA-cam products, after all it's all done in the hipster Silicone Valley. Worth mentioning, W phones had (have) a much easier screen unlock when answering calls. Unlocking to answer on Android phones is a mental challenge, not to mention their rabbit hole trend to hide important menus in the most unusual places of applications. Anyhow, I still use my 735 as my only phone until the 3G/4G network will be discontinued.
Im considering switching to my old lumia 930, so i can get a break from all the social apps and games, but still have access to e-mail and a descent camera.
I miss my Lumia 950, was so great. Do to the lack of support and things / well dont use it anymmore but still, a year ago, it did serve me well as I had no other choice. Wish Ms would go for it again. I think it would be an amazing thing with one more competetor on the market.
I had a Nokia Lumia 920. It was way ahead of its competitors. I was shocked how good it was when I took it out of the box. Unfortunately, Microsoft exited the smartphone market. It’s a real shame.
They charged developers to post on their store…they did not realize how to actually break into an existing market. However, they might consider a revamp to the market. As most manufacturers other than Samsung and google are fading away. Apple users won’t go to windows.
I think the Windows phone marketing was almost nonexistent. When visiting any retail store, they were pushing apples then with high commissions. I just think it was wrong timing (or a political decision with competition)
Even when they marketed it they sucked at it The only thing they could come up with is that it wasn’t iOS or android I still remember the ads depicting android and iOS users fighting
I loved my windows 8 lumia 930. Hell a month after buying it they updated to 8.1 denim and gave me the best built in feature of phone down=speakers come on, phone up and speakers go off. Yep to this day both my android and my iPhone do it but not anywhere near 8.1denim. I could also ask cortana to remind me to get say a loaf of bread when I go past Tesco, and it did. The iPhone only did that throw gh a app that you had to pay a subscription for and my S24 ultra Google assistant still doesn't do It. Windows 10 came out and broke both those features for me and I was very angry, the interface was better and I could make the phone home screen look even better but releasing win 10 months after 8.1 and breaking new features is about the level of compitancni now come to expect from Microsoft. Surface sucted mainly because of the update system and Windows 12 is like a huge step backwards but no one at Microsoft must know this as they haven't changed things like x means close or show more options is a huge mistake
The next best thing. Launcher 10 on my Samsung s23. Just love the live tiles and vivid colours of the tiles, instead of the boring Android widgets. If Huawei can survive, so can Windows mobile. Please bring back.😊
It is a shame Windows Phone didn't succeed, it was well executed, if they had made it compatible with android apps I think it would still be around. The hardware was good also, practical and inexpensive not relying on "premium materials" to be appealing. The smartphone world was more interesting with a third and completely different choice of UI as opposed to todays duopoly of almost identical design.
Honestly it was my favorite os ever and I still love the Nokia Lumia. Too bad Microsoft just had some of the poorest management ever in regards to their own os.
I preferred the Windows phone because it was a more friendly user experience, and you didn't have to worry about thousands of apps being shoved into your face. I miss my Windows phone.
I had a windows phone ( I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max now) but I still Maintain the windows phone had the best digital keyboard but I still love my iPhone
I will say, base android is still pretty snappy even on low end garbage hardware. What makes it slow is all the google garbage and PUP's from the OEM/carrier. I have a Stratus C5 "Elite". Is already a pretty clean image of android, but even after purging all the google crap the phone is snappy and makes a good web browsing machine.

I low-key miss windows phones. I miss the live tiles and they had such a nice keyboard
When it will launch in India.
Any whatsapp bypass? If I have whatsapp and messenger somehow, I will go back to lumia
Ditch Whatsapp. As a mom, I love not to be able to join all those trash groups made for kids party's, friend birthdays and other attention-grabbing junk. I solely use Telegram, and its a breeze.
Still works! But keep in mind it's not the safest because of having no security updates for the past few years
I miss my Lumia 950, was so great. Do to the lack of support and things / well dont use it anymmore but still, a year ago, it did serve me well as I had no other choice. Wish Ms would go for it again. I think it would be an amazing thing with one more competetor on the market.
Thanks for sharing
I had a Nokia Lumia 920. It was way ahead of its competitors. I was shocked how good it was when I took it out of the box. Unfortunately, Microsoft exited the smartphone market. It’s a real shame.
Popularity of the OS was the whole problem. IMHO despite that Windows perfectly match smartphones (even better than PC's)
They charged developers to post on their store…they did not realize how to actually break into an existing market. However, they might consider a revamp to the market. As most manufacturers other than Samsung and google are fading away. Apple users won’t go to windows.
Windows and LG phones were ahead of the curve but the people have spoken. So if anybody was to blame its the people.
i remember the lumia 1020 i had. it was amazing. and i wanted the lumia 850 xl so badly... sad it died
I think the Windows phone marketing was almost nonexistent. When visiting any retail store, they were pushing apples then with high commissions. I just think it was wrong timing (or a political decision with competition)
Even when they marketed it they sucked at it
The only thing they could come up with is that it wasn’t iOS or android
I still remember the ads depicting android and iOS users fighting
Surface sucted mainly because of the update system and Windows 12 is like a huge step backwards but no one at Microsoft must know this as they haven't changed things like x means close or show more options is a huge mistake
what is the music in the background at 7:30 ish
Mblue - Follow Me (instrumental)
Great video, Nice to see people still using wp in 2024.
thanks
You know what, you would be fall in love with lumia phones, that's what happened to me in the past! 😅
Kidhar se liya bhai muje bhi lena he
I need a battery for Lumia 532. Can any body help me.
Ebay will help you.
I actually wanted the Nokia because of how cool it looked. Then immediately bummed when found out it was windows
I miss windows phone
Honestly it was my favorite os ever and I still love the Nokia Lumia. Too bad Microsoft just had some of the poorest management ever in regards to their own os.
Love the sound of the keyboard
I hope they will revive it. ios & android apps market is saturated, devs would have time to code for Lumia Metro.
I preferred the Windows phone because it was a more friendly user experience, and you didn't have to worry about thousands of apps being shoved into your face. I miss my Windows phone.
How on earth this phone failed. Apart from lack of apps, buggy OS, no software update, SD Card issues and refused to use 4G at one point.
It’s sarcasm 😂 none of those should be an issue
I think windows phone os should go the open source way it could really picks up😊
Yes the windows camera was as good as my expensive canon.
Just want to it to come back, be here.
Steve Balmer was an excellent CEO but this failure is unfortunately a remembered part of his legacy, he didn’t think Apple and the smart phone was a huge problem … to his credit, no one could have imagined how slam dunk perfect Jobs and Apple did with the IPhone and everything after it.
- written from my iPhone 📱 XR
Love windows phones. Still keep my Lumia 735. Need battery replacement
The limited apps killed it.
I have lumia 920
it stills my favorite phone I had
Nice
That's exactly what it was. I love Windows.
They should create a separate and specific OS for their phones.
I still use my Lumia 640, mostly the radio. I love it!
Bro please does the browser works ?
@@bukumionakoya6366 it works. Not every site works but the most.
@@bukumionakoya6366 it does. But not with every site.
Still was my favorite phone app support was garbage though it did have better ram mangement and handle sd card much better than android
If they approached it right, it could’ve been as smooth as iOS and MacOS working together.
Bruh why are they still not trying to make windows phone till today
Really underrated phone
the maps on them are kinda good tho
I still have an old 925 here, that was one of the best phones I ever had, sadly between Microsofts inability to this day to make a decent app store and Google doing everything it could to make sure it never got google apps, Windows phone had no chance.
Windows phone was good but apps support not enough, it would be better if it was integrated with Windows Mobile 6.0
Microsoft wanted to impose rigorous control over the hardware and user experience and phone makers didn't like that at all
Still pretty usable daily driver wise, i use mine for Discord (3rd party client)
I would totally buy a lumia if it wasn't for the lack of apps
i love that it doesn't have co-pilot
They would probably force an update...
im this close to buying one. i always admired the one my classmate had in high school, but i was one of those people with a modded out chinese android phone with rainbowunicorn OS or whatever lol
I miss my samsung focus
