Saw them playing this live a few times, and it always hits the spot. What an absolute gem of a song. FB has one of the best set of lungs in the business and can fairly scream away to his hearts content. And ours. Thx for posting
@Rankmoistmeat This band can still capture their live essence. Seeing a band like Talking Heads reform to tour wouldn't be the same that is for sure, but it would be nice to hear new music created by those musicians as a band. Pixies should continue to create new music. I think for the fans of old, it would be nice to hear new material at this stage of their career. I've seen them live five times now and I wouldn't mind hearing old tunes mixed in with the new stuff off an album I just bought.
I stand corrected, TheToastBrothers! Wikipedia is a liar, though the more I think of it, the date given by Wikipedia might be the release date of the vinyl (which would make my previous statement correct) :)
nah, it's cool. I'm sure Kurt never directly took SLTS from this song, and I can see your argument. I wasn't aware they were released together. I just saw the influence from the overall Pixies' sound in SLTS.
@Rankmoistmeat i know plenty of young'uns that would jump at the chance to see the pixies live, of course they may not be as explosive as they were when they were 20, but they still rock alot harder than most of the shit out there these days, that's for sure.

@SoundgardenPearlJam quite a weird song to be the song that got you into the pixies.... you must of been let down at first when everything not on trompe sounds completely different...
I'd like to see a video for this song, where two psycho guys head-butt each other in the head. Their skulls both split, and blood and brains spray everywhere! They fall senseless to the ground, and a dog comes up and bites the exposed brain of one of them! The dog tugs and pulls at the brain, whining and growling. Finally he pulls the brain out and runs off with it in his mouth! He runs and runs down the middle of a road! Then gets hit by a car. The brain bounces onto the side of the road!
@PullingTeeth1 for the young, will it give them a concert experience as amazing as it would have been back in the day? If you sincerely feel that it will, well why not, but I doubt it's the case. These reforming bands are ruining the reputation they built over the years, by becoming a parody of their past selves, and only for money.
Its not actually this song that inspired Kurt's SLTS since UMass and SLTS were written and released at about the same time. Kurt loved the Pixies and admitted rippin them off but SLTS cant be a UMass rip off, it has to be some other song.
fuck it's so annoying to see these legendary bands from the past ruining their image by ''resurfacing" all old and GREASY just so they can feel young again
My favorite Pixies song ever!!!

This song came out in the early 90's, the Pixies couldn't have ripped off Debaser or Gigantic
I
sounds like teen spirit... can see the influence on KC

@orbfile would it be as good as the other albums they've released?
I don't want to be a pessimist, but I doubt it.
@Tomasthesk8dude it doesnt matter
I always thought this band was overrated, until I got this album and got to track 6.
by any chance would they be going to manila or should i just chase them round the globe until i die

It's Debaser he 'ripped off' apparently
Sounds like Teen Spirit.

Because Kurt Cobain's favourite band was the Pixies.
I dont know exactly what it is, but Frank has it.
fuck it's so annoying to see these legendary bands from the past ruining their image by ''resurfacing" all old and GREASY just so they can feel young again
@Tomasthesk8dude there's no point in them playing if they arent making anything new. It isnt going to do any good.
what?
There are much better performances of this by them
well they sure dont sound like a bunch of skin heads! :P
