The Pixies are one of the most influential American acts of all time. Initially spanning the late eighties and early nineties they created the blueprint for alternative rock that would be followed and embellished upon by everyone from grunge to Britpop. After 10 years apart the Pixies reformed in 2004. This film is the second release in our Club Date series and features the Pixies in the intimate Paradise Club in Boston. It is a companion to the simultaneously released "Pixies Acoustic: Live In Newport".

on the album, after this rather good but effective clod-hopping track we get two Pixies' gems. One is Letter to Memphis. No words needed. brilliant song
This whole album is A Pixies gem, the best of their whole catalog... Letter to Memphis is great, but Bird Dream of the Olympus Mons is tops!

This song came out one day before Nevermind, it's highly unlikely if not impossible for Cobain to have heard the song before writing Teen Spirit.

Nirvana ripped off The Pixies.
definitely NIrvana copied the chord progression of the song....
Kurt pisat teen spirit a few weeks before the release Nevermaind, he loved the band and wanted to write a pop song in the style of the Pixies, after which he learned that the same chords from another song entirely, from this Boston - More Than A Feeling, and Kurt recognized that he unconsciously copied the song from the chords and sang the chorus from the song Boston at one of their concerts.
