It’s probably not the same “razor clam” your talking about. Plus we use these for crab bait and fish bait both of which catch something more delicious than the clam!

I live on the Western Shore of the Bay a bit south of the Choptank. I have seen clammers in front of my home for several weeks. Any idea what the bi-kill is on this type of operation? I can't help but think this is killing the bottom but would like to hear an alternative opinion.
Try digging with a hand rake first. Even if you bought a boat with a setup like this, you would have lease out areas of the water in your county to use it legally, for a lottta money.

Razor clams are harvested for food in Oregon and Washington State. Why are they only used for bait in Maryland? Different taste?

As a kid in the 70's I ate the razor clams steamed they were soft and buttery. You dont see them anymore.

the choptank river i s on the eastern side of the bay
Stay north of state line we don't do this in Virgina.
Is that because Omega Protein has vacuumed up all the biomass on the virginia end of the bay ?
