What kind of fun Easter desserts are y'all makin'? If you have pictures, be sure to send them to me at question@pauladeen.com.
I'm thinking of making rice krispies for us to decorate. Maybe Ill.do one of these pretty cakes too!

I found this recipe for a medditteranian carrot cake that takes pistachios and apricots.
Do you have a video on decorating a Easter lamb cake,I loved those when I was growing up.
Cute idea for your Bunny cake. I'll make my grandkids one next year. I had a heart attack almost a month ago, I'm not feeling so well this year. I hope I'm here next year. God willing. 🙏 By the way my Granny called me Bunny.... for years. lol !! Happy Easter everyone. 🐣 God bless you all. 🙏💖
I made my first bunny cake In1987 .My daughter Kelly was 10 months old and her sister Karah was three. I have made one ever since, and Kelly was most of the time the daughter to insist we make one together. Kelly is now thirty-six she is a flight attendant and lives in Valencia, CA. Last year she had a daughter Kira who is a downs baby and the love of all of our lives This year Kelly and Kira will be making their first bunny cake on Good Friday together.
Traditions ARE VERY IMPORTANT and it really doesn't matter if it's a cake mix in a box or canned frosting or all made from scratch. The important part is that you do it with the ones you 💘 SO LONG LIVE THE BUNNY CAKE TRADITION!!! My granddaughter Rease and I will be making one in Indiana as well on the same day.
I made this cake for my boyfriend Eddie back in 1976 when I was 14. He took a picture of it, which I still have, and I still have Eddie. 😊🐇
So romantic❣️
So adorable
For my boys we would do a chocolate bunny cake and while my boys were sleeping the night before Easter we made an Easter Bunny "trap" that never quite caught the Easter Bunny ;) We shaved a little bit of white fluff off our dog's belly(for Easter Bunny fur) and set up a box on a stick, and then scattered jelly beans(Easter Bunny poop) and the fur around the box like the trap *almost* caught the Easter Bunny while he was hiding eggs :) My boys loved waking up to that!
LOL, What a fun idea!
@Greta Lynn Mercy Goodness! Yours is THE most precious Easter Bunny story I've ever heard. I don't have children, but I hope you don't mind me sharing your brilliant idea with my niece to use when her infant boys are a bit older (though they'll have to improvise a bit more with the fluff haha). Hoppy Easter to you and your family!!! 🐰
And Jesus rose!!!!!!!!!!
I love this story. I wonder what the dog thought?

My younger sister and I were taught that the Easter Bunny (Osterhase) magically visited the homes of those who attended Mass.
Many years later, we realized our parents told us we were running late for church (15 minutes ahead of schedule) and wrangled us into the car. Daddy would then suddenly "forget" something -- tithe, his glasses, and even the keys to the car went missing one Easter haha -- it was Mom's job to keep us kids in the car, and to prevent me from running back into the house to assist Daddy on his quest for the missing item. We would return from Mass to discover beautiful baskets filled with treats, and then search for colorful eggs.
I love your screen name! Hansel and Gretel was one of my favorite stories, and Grimm's Fairy Tales evoke such precious childhood memories. Hope you and your family have a blessed Easter! :)
😞My grandmother made this for my birthday every year.. I lost her a few years ago and still haven't recovered from it. They say "well she was older and lived a good life".. yes, that's true!, but that doesn't make the pain any less hurtful! She was an amazing cook!! I would beg her to show me how and she would dip, scoop, splash, pinch.. lol soo... I never learned her way of cookin! Having said that - absolutely loved the video! 🤗 Happy Easter!! 🐰
I lost my mom and feel the same way. Even though I'm a mom and grandma the loss is there. But when I'm cooking she's with me and I'm full of joyous memories.
@@apatterson1461 many hugs to you!! 🤗
I totally understand the pain! God bless! He is near the brokenhearted.
I made this for my boys in the late 70's through the 80's, until they were too old for Easter baskets . I made 7-minute frosting and covered him with coconut. I set aside about a cup of the coconut and tinted it with red food coloring to make it pink, for inside the ears and for his bowtie i would tint another cup blue or green. I bought large Easter colored malted milk balls and used two blue ones for the eyes and two pink ones for his lips I would take narrow curling ribbon and cut four 12 inch lengths and curl them with my scissors and I had the whiskers. This bought back precious memories. I put the bunny on a long silver serving tray covered with large white doilies. I love you to pieces Miss Paula,
Hi Joyce
@@andybetz.9978 Good morning! Hope your day is super groovy!
@@joycewilson3787 Good morning Joyce, How are you doing today, My pleasure to meet you.
@@joycewilson3787 How was your Easter Day Joyce , I hope you the best of the day. Where are you from Joyce ?
I worked with special needs children for 34 years, retiring in 2010. I made a Easter Bunny Cake for my class room the first year I worked in 1976. Great memories. Love you Paula. ❤️
Hi Barbara
Oh Paula, you seem like such a fun, loving mother and grandmother🥰 I adore hearing your stories about raising your children/grandchildren and the traditions that you share with them
I adore when she used to make things from scratch ... miss those days. 😞
I’m with you Paula. I do not like canned frosting. Buttercream is so easy to make and you can make chocolate buttercream, cream cheese and butter buttercream… so many flavors. Your bunny is precious. 🙏🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻
I made one of these for my kids every Easter. I only used Jelly beans to decorate. Thanks for the memories
Hi Karen
Lovely. I did this when my son was growing up. I froze the cake before cutting and frosting. This made it much easier. 🐰❤️
Hi Patsy
OMGsh, Paula! Thank you for NOT having a BASHFUL BONE in your body! You made me roll in the floor watching you sing the Easter Peter Cottontail bunny song! And for this 74 year old (last April 3rd), I need ALL the LAUGHS I can get! I LOVE YOU, Honey. And I love your sidekicks…Teresa and Eddie👍❤️👏👏👏🎉🎉🎂🎂🐇🐇🐇
How cute ! Happy Easter !🐰 blessing to all 🐰
Paula I've made so many of those rabbit cakes.i used to take orders at Easter time one Easter we had an ice storm..this older lady and I had to crawl across prches to deliver those.it was something but fun.i still laugh about it..my friend she is gone now.
If I didn't like how a cookie cutter was shaped I made my own pattern.
Paula you are so right about kids..so so right
Hi Maggie
Sooo Cute!! Thanks Paula 🐰
Paula we just visited friends in TN and on our list of things to do was visit your restaurant! We had the BEST experience! The food, service, storefront all exceeded expectations. Watching you all these years I’ve watched you make so many of the dishes we were eating. The decor is so stinkin’ cute! Wonderful job!
So cute
Hi Sheila
Paula, my mother always made two round cakes, one for the body, and the other one she cut his ears and a bow tie. So many memories. God Bless You Paula🙏❤️
You're sooooooo RIGHT Paula!!! "The more people that love your children, the better off they are for it"!!!! I made " Easter Cookies" w/my daughter and my Grandsons last week-end. They had the BEST TIME!!!! Everett is ALLERGIC to Eggs, and we've dyed them for the last few years. This year I decided to just go ahead and make "Easter Egg Cookies" with the boys, and they were soooooo HAPPY w/them, and had soooooo MUCH FUN!!!! I'm really glad we decided to do that!!!! Oh, and your Bunny looks ADORABLE!!!! (Big Surprise)
I felt so fortunate to be homemaker while I was raising my kids in the '80s and '90s . I would make this cake almost exactly like you did. However, I would also add a lemon curd filling to both cakes before I cut the ears & bowtie, yum .😋 As my daughter got old enough, she would love to help decorate. One good thing about this cake is that it serves a lot of folks. There's also the WOW factor for the first-timers. 😛 Thanks Paula . Many Easter Blessings to you & your whole gang. 🎀👒🐰🙏
I don’t like canned frosting either. Cute bunny. Happy Easter.
I had an air fryer and I wasn't impressed but when we move Im getting a PAULA DEAN air fryer!!! I love your products!!!
Beautiful Easter Bunny. I love it. Thanks for this precious idea.
My Mother-in-law made this every Easter from the time her kids were little and then for her grandkids until she passed away in 2020. It’s a fun Easter dessert.
Hi Debbie
I know the boy's will love it...but I love it at 67 you made my Easter..THANK YOU, PAULA...Warm feeling inside for you and yours
❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹🐰🐰🐰🐇🐇🐇
Hi Sally
Too cute!! Children are precious.
I don't recall having a bunny cake growing up, but we did do sugar cookie bunnies, lambs and eggs. My mom always made her sweet Easter bread to go with the salty ham and kielbasa (sandwiches later) and always had her homemade nutroll with icing glaze. Sure do miss those days.
Love the bunny!!! Thank-you Eddy for mentioning the eyes....they were a bit scary !!! ✌😊
YEA he looked like he was having a stroke and his eyes were popping out
Me and my family have been making this cake for over 30 years, my Dad was the first to make it and now I’m in charge of it, it’s a lot of fun, thank you for sharing with others❤️😊
If the cake tastes as good as it looks it'll definitely be amazing
Wow. My mom makes this exact cake for my brother his bday is the 11th, so it falls on Easter sometimes. She definitely makes for him when it does fall on Easter!! So cute!!
Awesome my birthday and my late twin brother is the 11th too yes would have a bunny cake too🐰🐇

I like Betty, the bunny!! Very cute Bunny and Granddaughters.🥰
Hi Cynthia
These little things are so worth it to watch their little eyes light up and smile. I did it with my kids and doing it with grandkids. Thanks Paula. Love ya'll.

Those eyeballs 😂😂 so glad y’all changed them
We used to make this cake every year. I still make it for passover because it brings so many childhood memories back. I remember one year our dog jumped on the counter and started eating it and as she jumped down after being yelled at, Mr bunny ended up face down on the floor...what was left of him anyway.
I made these for my family 35 years ago. So I made them for one this year in a fake bake, spackle and styrofoam that they will have forever.
Grandma always made buck teeth with sugar cubes ❤️
I was blessed enough to be a SAH mom for 10yrs with my boys. I’ve been a single mom since ❤️
I made this in the early 80s from a magazine article…haven’t even thought about it in years …my tradition with my grands has always been to make ramen noodle bird nest candies…they love putting the robin eggs on the nests 🥰
Paula you are so precious!!! I was sitting here thinking I will do this for my grandchildren and my great grandchildren!! Thank you for the idea!!
I wish I could have seen ALL the decorationing. The bunny really changed. Would like to see how you fixed it. Lookd totally different
I would love see how or explain how . Very disappointed. I want to make one . Happy Easter Paula
That bunny is just too cute
I have made these for over forty years❣️ I use seven minute frosting to make covering cake easier. My kids and grandkids love them🙋I leave the face without coconut, and use black frosting to draw on eyes, lashes and rabbit mouth with whiskers.
Hi Diana
I usually add a pinch of salt to my icing. Seems to cut the intense sweetness of the buttercream. Work in a Healthcare facility and the residents (and staff!) just love it.
Hi Stacey
The bunny is ADORABLE! You could name the bunny Beatrix---after Beatrix Potter, the British children's author.
We always used carrot cake for our Easter Bunny cakes. My favorite one we had when I was a child was shaped like the bunny was laying on his tummy, and his feet were sticking out behind him. That one was store-bought and had plastic pieces stuck in, instead of "real" decorations but it was still adorable. I've since seen ones made with edible decorations (pink jelly beans for the feet pads and mini marshmallows for the cottontail).
Ms. Paula that bunny is adorable! I would name her Bonnie the Bunny!! Happy Easter and God bless!! Hugs!!
Hi Cathy
Your grandbabies will love it!
A masterpiece 😀😀😀😀😀
Hi Lisa
Purple looks amazing on you!!
I'm so glad you said that Eddie about the eyes lol! They were a little scary!
Hi Christine
PAULA YOU LOOK REALLY PRETTY. CUTE CAKE!!!
Cute cake. The Wilton baking accessories site has some super cute decorating ideas using various icing tips to get different textures to the bunny...and many more ideas too! 🐇🐰
My dad used to sing that Peter Cottontail song to us at Easter, for sure, and sometimes throughout the year! Hehehe.
Here comes Peter Cottontail hopping down the bunny trail hippty hoppity Easter is on its wayyyyyyyy . LOL
Awe hes so cute I want to make one now
Hi Lynetta

Mom made these when we were kids...wonderful memories!! Guess I should be making one for my 2 generations of grandchildren! I'm not old but a great-grand-nanny! Thank you Paula Deen!
(coconut can get messy😅)
Loved your beautiful creative Betty Bunny 🐇 and seeing how your Grandkids enjoyed it too I'm sure it was scrumptious!
Thank you, Eddy. Those eyes weren’t working. Hahaha
But love this cake. So adorable. And coconut cake is a favorite in my home. We’ll have fun with this one.
Hello Micki 👋
I enjoyed watching you create the adorable bunny cake, thank you so much.... I remember making one for my kids, but it wasn't so beautiful....thank you...
Ahh so cute miss Paula,
Paula that rabbit has crazy eyes!
That was adorable. 🐇❤️
Adorable Bunny 🐰! Thanks for sharing Paula!
Hi Brenda
When the name "Beatrice" came up, I swear the first thing that came to my mind was "That was my grandmother's name" at the same time Eddie said the same thing. Uncanny.
Paula, i just love you. I am going to make this cake today with my beautiful little great nieces and i will send a picture.
Dear Paula, I love ur show. I have all ur cooks, some pieces of ur merchandise. I have always loved u
I Rosemary
I made one of those in Girl Scouts for a bake sale we were doing, I was 11 (1984), my mom bought it because she didn't want anyone else having my cake LOL.
My mom used to make cupcakes look like Easter Baskets. She put green colored coconut on the top (for grass) and jelly beans (for eggs) and she used a pipe cleaner for the handle. They were so cute!!
My favorite cake!! I like a little crush pineapple in mine instead of so many raisins and I use white raisins.
What a great bunny cake.
How this brings back memories of my dear sweet Mama making her Easter Bunny Cake! 3 of her sisters as well, make so many beans cakes🐰
I’m planning on trying to do a special Bunny Cake. It may well be the last chance I get to do it again🐰
HAPPY EASTER Y’ALL
I love these bunny 🐰 cakes for Easter! I made one years ago for my son. Yours is so pretty I bet it’s yummy!😋
This is so fun. I used to make this back in the 70s-80s. It's always a hit. Thanks!

Hi Janice
Oh Paula, I laughed out loud when you sang that song. I used to sing that same song to mine. But your version was fantastic!! The cake turned out great!
My grandmother loved it when I made this cake for her one Easter.
I had a bunny mold and made it w our neighborhood kids and my daughter. Hope to make one w my grands..5 of them this year. I will make yours! So doable!
So cute. I bet there are going to be a lot of bunny cakes this Easter 😊

Peanut M&M's make good eyes and licorice whip candy (red & black) are good for the mouth and whiskers. Jordan almonds are good for teeth, nose, and eyes.
