Rewind is better. Don’t use backup mag mods on it, they decrease your total reserves.
it's a bug?, if not it should be in the description of the mod.

That just for the adept back up mag mod the normal one doesnt reduce your reserve
Veist stinger does not work with envious assassin. You'll get the btter ADS move speed, but it wont reload the mag since its overflowed.
That's only if it triggers on the overflowed part of the mag. It will still work if you have less than 5 in the magazine.

Remember veist stinger doesnt proc till youre in the orginal mag size!
I got Auto Loading with Bait and Switch. I used with an Izanagi swap rotation and it was putting in work.

i love my enhanced battery, rewind and b&s roll, i think have a mag perk increasing mag size is better than accelerated coil, since adept charge time mod does not decrease damage

Only when increasing mag size via Backup Mag. Enhanced Battery doesn't lower overall reserves.

I got enhanced battery and reservoir burst. API says it goes to 7 shots, in game says 6. Bummer. Back to farming.
I think autoloading is sort of underated because of the ability to proc cascade point in 1 shot. This way you can pair it with a cascade super cluster or Volta bracket depending on the range and drastically improve the DPS because linears suck. Even with enhanced surrounded enhanced rewind, the most I could deal to Rathil was 1.45 mil with surges, radiant and no debuff. With using the slug shotgun in combination, I was doing 1.63 mil. This is ofc way behind a GL mag dump and for total DMG it was only a little better. Something like parasite+song of flame+Cartesian, I was doing 2.4mil. and ofc that has leagues better total reserves DMG. Suppose for like the witness where you have a 45 second phase and I'm not sure if parasite reaches the boss consistently, and even then obviously no worms hunger, however with me missing some shots on rathil, I'd imagine on a static target like witness this is pretty good.
Aztec or someone said auto and bait stacking with Izzy is a great option, especially solo players

Auto is the best option for any normal damage phase. Rewind is terrible on this compared to it and envious is only good for one rotation with reservoir burst. Source: I’ve tested every roll

Rewind round does not work on overflowed magazine. The only good pair would be envious + res burst

firing line is the easiest of the three and still pretty good
get enhanced battery, liquid coils is also great

Edit: also now is the best time to farm, double loot and xp, just get some warlocks with getaway build and outbreak to speedrun
I got the rewind bait n switch early and kept farming for material and ended up getting all the great secondary rolls. Cornered and surrounded has my attention for sure.
I just snagged rewind + firing line, think I’m good at this point. Not having to proc anything actively is kinda nice for just lazy DPS with surges
Best roll without question is rewind+bns. Envious overflowed portion of the mag doesn’t work with veist and 99.9% of the time you’ll never need to reload with rewind+veist so there’s no reason to go through the hassle of trying to proc envious
I understand the appeal of the synergy between Cornered and Surrounded, but wouldn't Rewind (or Envious or ALH) be a better pairing? Wouldn't you want a bigger mag/less reload over a faster charge time? I had Cornered / Surrounded and sharded it, and I'm hanging onto one that pairs Envious and Slice with Surrounded (I suppose if you got Envious and Cornered as your two options on an adept, you have best of both worlds?).
Everyone is saying the backup mag reduces your overall ammo reserves for it??
Increasing your mag size via Backup Mag lowers base reserves.
However, increasing your mag size via Enhanced Battery doesn't negatively effect reserves.
Backup mag is bugged right now, its not supposed to reduce your reserves. It also seems to be doing it on certain weapons, which this linear is one of them.

Got Env. Assassin/Bait & Switch god roll second clear. Was using Prosperity Ghost mod for double drops.
First GM I got it with Ionized Battery, Envious Assassin/Rewind Rounds & Bait and Switch :)
What role is that with your ergo sums?
Adept backup mag is pointless as well on some rolls with the mag perks. Adept charge time didn't change anything as well.
It doesnt visually show it but Addept Charge time does reduce it by 40ms
Adept charge time does effect the weapon, it's just not visual for some reason.

Envious + Reservoir Burst is a good combo, but Rewind/BnS is the go-to
get accelerated coils with cornered and you got yourself a heavy pulse rifle
I got to 7 shots with Ionized Battery and Backup Mag, running ALH and BnS. I got such a good roll but wound up with Ionized or Liquid Coils in the battery column :/ can’t figure out what to use.
I think the play will be Ionized + Adept Reload, I have a reload masterwork so I can cover the -20 reload that way and still have 6 in the mag.

Still trying to get an Rewind/B&S …got a lot of attrition orbs and Hatchling😭.
The got an AutoLoading Reservoir Burst that will be great for general play/champions when Strand surge is active.
Does anyone know how it interacts with attrition orbs? Technically it should take 5-6 hits based on the perk description since 1 ammo fires a 3 shot burst, compared to pulses where 3 ammo is a 3 shot burst.

Is it better than whisper or still hunt? Because my philosophy is if it doesn’t do more than whisper, there really isn’t a scenario in the game you should use this right? If linear fusions get a nice buff that changes things but right now why farm for a weapon that is the best of the worst heavy weapon class?

same with a mag boosting perk, first run too. we eating good with this roll
got a Ros Arago IV with rewind rounds and deconstruct and its a perfect void weapon for what i was needing.
Facet of Bravery gives your void weapons volatile rounds when defeating targets with grenades, kills with gunpowder gamble's ignition counts as a grenade final blows, and give your weapons volatile rounds which feeds back into the gunpowder gamble. I like Ros Arago IV because you can shoot it for a long time and never reload with rewind rounds and deconstruct, and wild card with volatile rounds has great synergy
Honestly, I just used an adept with Rewind and Firing Line, Veist, and am...shocked how mediocre it is vs what UA-camrs are saying. I used it on the Witness and was shocked that after 1 phase I had barely 1.5m damage. Takes like 3 or 4 bursts to kill a subjigator. Solid "eh, it's fine" Linear to me. I get similar numbers from Doomed Petitioner and Stormchaser.

Envious is good if you're on ad clear, rewind is better if you're doing mechanics, if you can get both on the gun then hey presto you've got a solid roll, don't use backup mag on this weapon it's not worth it.
Rewind Rounds!
The first guy who tells the truth envious is just better in 99% of the content in the game. Some UA-camrs say „but it requires set up“, you literally kill enemies all the time like what kind of set up are they talking about. There is no single boss fight I struggled so far getting my extra shots in.
A prominent example was mentioned in the video, if you're one of the mechanics people in e5 Salvation's edge, you don't get much time to build it, if at all. I was running an env. gun with the witness and that perk at most gives you like 1-2 extra shots at most when everyone's doing their job. Meanwhile, something like reconstruction just fills you to 200% mag size for basically free.
Is it still worth having an envious assassin roll? Yeah. But there ARE downsides to any perk with an activation requirement.
I can shoot all 17 w/o reloading with Rewind Rounds and Stinger.
Ablaze shader looks HARD on this.

Scintillation is a 3 burst, so it actually beats out Cataclysmic with the same perks.
tl;dr not really, get one in case they get buffed but as is linears are in an extremely rough spot right now and youre better off just using whisper or still hunt even if youre not a hunter

Honestly Veist stinger being on a heavy burst LFR is what makes this weapon. Rewind isn't the end all roll. It's just another option. If we're talking about Firing Line I'd argue Rewind is the best choice but when talking about BnS and the 10-11 second timer you need to reactivate with ontop of any Izy or Still hunt swaps you're doing, you'll almost never benefit from Rewind over ALH or even Envious Assassin.
So for BnS I'd say the best pairs are ALH and EA with Rewind pretty much equal but not necessary.
For Firing Line or Surrounded though I would go Rewind with maybe EA as a second option.
But really I just want to see a direct comparison with ALH vs Rewind both with Veist stinger and see how each holds up in the BnS swap. My own tests show ALH has the same up time as Rewind assuming Veist procs at least once a mag (which in 80-90% of the times it does) but I'd love to see someone do a more detailed breakdown of it.

I personally just don’t find this weapon all that great even the adept. The shot is slow and low dps and that maxed out with faster charge rate. Linears need a whole rework.
Envious and viest stinger dont work together so rewind is going to be the better option
Veist stinger will proc once the mag is below its cap, putting in the last few reserve rounds into the mag
@@Saffimaru if your lucky. And if you get enough kills to proc envious twice. Or you could just use rewind and have 0 set up and just hold the trigger down and blow your entire load. When 1 requires setup and 1 doesnt i think the one not requiring setup wins every time
@@brendenrufh1818 you only need 1 veist stinger proc with envious, you need multiple for rewind. You need to be lucky for rewind, not envious

The whole "Envious vs Rewind" debate is so dumb. The real answer to that question is ALH. How long does BnS last? 7 Bursts, oh look at that the gun has 7 bullets in the mag. Once you reproc BnS ALH reloaded the gun for you. Why are people making this so complicated?

DON'T use Ionized Battery with Backup Mag. DO use Enhanced Battery with Adept Mag. You will get 7 in the mag without losing the 20 reload speed which could make a difference in the rare case you need to reload during damage.
Don't use adept mag either. Only use Enhanced Battery and thats it. Enhanced Battery gives you 6 in the mag without affecting reserves while everything else does (for whatever reason).
