    Thank you for posting these videos. It is difficult to find clear instructions that assume the learner knows nothing at all about the device and then progresses in small steps, showubg the basic ways the unit can be used before getting into more advanced topics.

    Awesome video however I feel things may have changed in the newer software update possibly? The screens differ in the Assign section and I can’t find a Rhythm Variation option anywhere under any parameters 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Thanks Teej, very helpful videos. I still can’t get my drum variations working. Do you know if there are better reference manuals for each function ? The manuals are pretty poor. Surely they must have deeper descriptions?

    • @teej7081
      @teej7081  2 роки тому

      I think on the Boss website they have a more complete manual that explains things in more detail. You're absolutely right that the manual they send you is atrocious. For a machine with a lot of depth you think they could spare a few bucks to print out the "good" manual!

    Good tip. I too have an RC-10R and I chased this feature.
    I do this just a little bit differently. Rather than use TRK1 PLY/STP for the Assign source, I use PEDAL1/MODE1.
    I have pedal 1 assigned to TRK1 REC/PLY4, and more generally, I have all of pedals 1 through 6 assigned to TRKn REC/PLY, which makes all 6 tracks available in mode 1.
    You indicated it was potentially unreliable to Assign RHYTHM VARI to TRK1 REC/PLY. I haven't had any such problem with PEDAL1/MODE1. Perhaps it works better to assign the variation to the button itself, rather than associating it with the function that button performs.

    Perhaps you can help. Does the RC 10 r have the option to isolate individual drums and turn them off / in. For instance if you just want to have a bass drum playing instead of the whole kit. The RC 5 has this option. Many thanks. Thomas

    thanks for your videos. IS there a way to stop the looper but still have the rhythm running ? For example if I want to end the song with a coda that has different chords changes but I stil want the rhythm (drums) on it. Thanks

    Great video Teej, So I want to use track 1 in each memory as a drum track, but currently when I hit rec/play i have to hit it twice to start the drum track without recording. Will setting the stop switch to ( start/stop) fix my issue? How do I program the stop button to be start /stop? ( subscribed ) thank you for your help.

    very helpful thanks...this thing is really an egg-laying wool-milk pig! Do I have to record the drum beats to a track or does it trigger the rythms when I push a switch (Track 1,2,3 etc)?

    When you say play stop I think you mean stop clear? If not I'm confused about how to follow this tutorial as I have it set as defaults.

    I do have a question.. when I push the bottom six switches, I would like different rhythm variations to start Play.. without having to record anything basically using like a drum machine.. is that possible? and also can you make a video how its senses the tempo through my strumming My guitar please

    I’m a little confused still. If I use control to set up pedal two to be start (for track one), and then set assign one also to pedal two to a specific variation, isn’t that can override start stop?

  • @ВладимирКовалев-н7ч

    how can I change the variation of the rhythm to any fraction of a beat, or is it impossible? The bars are not only 4/4 in length, they can be 1/4, 1/2, 1/3.

    Thank you for this! I tried it and the only issue is that in single play mode, after setting the stop buttons to play/stop, when pressing play on another track in order to arm it to switch, instead of just that track flashing green, all the tracks with info on them flash green (both rec and play/stop lights!) and it is way too confusing. Do you know a way around this? Perhaps assign the stop to only do the variation change??

    • @teej7081
      @teej7081  2 роки тому +1

      I agree that having 4 flashing lights can be a little disconcerting. I'm not sure of a way around this other than having only one button per track doing all of the necessary work, which in my opinion is too much for each button to handle recording, playing, stopping, undoing, and rhythm variation.
      Depending on your situation, if you pre-record tracks and use them to perform you could switch pedal modes and have mode 1 set up for recording and mode 2 set up for performance. Mode 2 could just have each track be setup for play/stop and rhythm variation so that you only have one light per track. A bit hard to explain in words, I'll make a video explaining this if you think this sounds like a solution.

    Thanks for the video. Do you know if you can remove parts of the rhythm such as bass drum and snare ect like you can do on the RC5 and RC500? Thanks again

    • @crossover8634
      @crossover8634 11 місяців тому

      Unfortunately boss omitted the parts section like on the 500. I was hoping they would add this with an update bit nothing yet. I had to make a custom midi file with the parts removed and add it to the user section of the internal rythem.

  • @DIYguitarGuy

    Thanks for the explanation. Is it true that it plays a drum fill when you switch from one variation to another? And you have to press it halfway through a bar to achieve this?

    Great little vid.😎
    I'm wondering of it's possible to assign and create a more drastic drum change? Not the kit but the pattern. There are tons to choose from but it seems once you've chosen one- that's all you get. It would be great to go from a light verse to a heavy chorous. Jope you can help.
    Cheers!

    I tried to change the time signature to 3/4 and it refuses to change. Is the RC-600 seriously only capable of 4/4 time rhythms or am I just doing something wrong?

  • @Luchodela
    @Luchodela 2 роки тому +1

    Hi! just because you have also the 10R, wanted to ask you what do you use each one of this for? I mean, I was wondering if I should purchase the 10R, because of it's form factor and it looks simplier to operate, but actually I need to input to the looper both, guitar and voice, so, I think the 10R doesn't fit right?

    • @teej7081
      @teej7081  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah the 10R only has instrument cable input, no XLR. Depending on what you're doing the 600 might be a bit much because it's an absolute unit with TONS of options. If money is no object and size isn't a problem, I'd go for it. But there might be smaller, easier to use loopers if you're just trying to do some simple looping. I think the 10R is far superior in user experience and let's you get to making loops a lot faster, so if that's your goal you could always just get an XLR to TRS cable and plug it in the second input of the 10R.

    • @Luchodela
      @Luchodela 2 роки тому

      @@teej7081 Thanks so much for replying. So the second input, B, can be used as actually a second input for another instrument or microphone? I was said in a store here in Peru that it was only for stereo input, like for keyboards. If this is true and it can be used as a second input, using an XLR to TRS cable, then this is GREAT news for me! Thanks a lot!
