They don't even go through the whole lineup anymore just the top 20. And yes I miss when theyd show the qualifying speeds, team, make, hometown, etc. Theres a lot of things that were just way better in the 90s and 2000s

It comes down to intentionality. Modern culture is so unintentional as a whole, and it has trickled into racing and other sports. Racing needs more viewers, regardless of what series, so new viewers need to be introduced to these racers. I cheered for Mike Bliss because he was the first driver I knew of from my native Oregon. Something as simple as a driver's hometown can instantly make a new fan.

This is my new favourite nascar video, I’ve been saying this for years

Amen! Just found your channel! 100% Agree....... This is a small part of NASCAR's downfall after the dumb single network TV contract starting in 2001....... it started with FOX wanted sponsors to pay to have their company presented in the opening lineups.... then another network (forget which one) started charging the sponsor of the NASCAR race itself at the track to have their name mentioned during the broadcast which many declined so now the race name on the tv was different than the one at the track. Never get why NASCAR let themselves get bullied as much as they do by the tv networks to the point it has impacted the product on track. The NFL, MLB, NBA don't let the networks dictate terms.

Yeah, that all ended in 2000, when ESPN’s Speedworld crew (Bob, Benny and Ned) signed off for the last time.

It's not NASCAR, but Formula E has started using starting lineups with images of both the drivers and cars this year.

You’re right, but to make a difference in nascar you’ll have to prove you’re from somewhere that doesn’t have a race that is also out west that has a sliver of a connection to nascar history somewhere else. Like a Daytona in Sacramento, or a street race in Dale, Arizona. If you’re already a fan or from “nascar country,” you no longer matter. They’ve made that clear the last few seasons

NASCAR was better when it could be consumed by each viewer in their own way… Now it’s too heavily focused on creating a singular experience & narrative for everyone to follow, which is very unsatisfying for most people.
    "Winning is everything…"
    "Win and your in!!"
    "The Championship race."
You should be able to just turn on the TV, and pull for you’re favorite driver every week, whether he’s a champion or not.

Dude, that's a solid take. 👍🏼👍🏼 Can we dispense with some of the gimmicks and nonsense, like Michael Waltrip running acting like a complete moron. (I like you Mikey, but have a little dignity man.)
Stupid graphics and animations that show nothing of any importance or relevance.
Drivers in photo and video shoots doing stupid stuff, often to highlight that week's particular track. They are racecar drivers.
I don't need to see Joey Logano pretending to be on a goat rope because they're in Texas, or Michael Waltrip eating a Martinsville hotdog like a toddler.
One of the Nascar shows "it may have been Jeff Burton🤔) actually called out the stupid drone footage finally, with the drone zooming around and doing all these crazy maneuvers and camera tricks. The gopher cam. How about we get our regular camera situations figured out so you don't pan or switch away while the booth is talking about the car that is on the screen.
It's all so cringe. Nascar has become a circus. I really like this take man. I don't think it's just good and simple delivery of information. I think it's very important. Like Hackfraud Media (Red Letter Media) ranting about not having the famous Fox logo and intro in the new Star Wars, but instead of replacing it with something suitable and memorable, Disney just omitted it altogether. It's blank. Here's your movie. Shut the hell up and watch it. The Fox intro, the Pixar intro with animated movies, etc. It becomes part of the movie. It's more important than people realize. A proper driver intro is that, but even way more so. Great job.

🏳️‍🌈📺📼🏎️🧰🛠️🔧🪛🎙️🏆🏁💡🧢📻🎤📷📰📹📱 Yeah I totally totally agree with you Seth because I remember those days back in late 1990s whenever it's Ken S. saying about the driver started the race to tell the field. Oh I noticed something about this you see their qualifying speed with how close their lap time from qualifying I remember those days. But otherwise they put provisional on their name from starting 35th place thru 43rd place & sometimes they have past champion too. They tell us who missed the race or failed to qualifying in the race events. Otherwise they did some many changes after 2000 season without CBS, TBS & TNN we remember that on TV.
In 1 month right after NASCAR season over I'll try my best on here for talking about NASCAR races I started & talking about video games too if I can do that.

I’ve only know or heard about half of the field because of their popularity, the remaining of field are irrelevant to media coverage except for crashing, that side bar graphic with the running positions is and will be irritating, there’s so many reasons why I don’t like some of pre/ during/post race coverage that today’s media has to offer, I hate to say it, I’ve lost a interest in nascar because of the media coverage, I only watch the hi lights on UA-cam to check up on a couple of drivers I follow
