After seeing your videos, I got my LCR .22 about a year ago and have really enjoyed carrying it with the enigma. I am still using the factory grip, but definitely planning on getting one of these to try out! Love the videos
Or 43c. Btw the smith and Wesson bodyguard 2.0 is amazing with minimalist holster. I like the safety option. Muddy River tactical makes minimal holster. I’m a wheelgun guy but .380 honey badger or RIP loads are devastating rounds. 12 shots.
@@kbkesq I actually had issues with 2 bodyguard 2.0’s so I called it quits. I really wanted to like it but one had a barrel chamber that was too tight and rounds were getting stuck in the barrel and couldn’t eject and the other had a pin that was installed incorrectly and was protruding into the mag well. I carry the lcp max also and have had great luck with two of them I own.
@@kbkesq I'm glad to hear your 43C worked out. My 43C would only fire 5 charge holes out of 8 ....BRAND NEW OUT OF BOX. It didn't matter what ammo (9 different kinds). Still haven't sent it back. Went out and snapped up a Ruger LCR 22LR and NEVER looked back. Almost at 5,000 rounds and zero issues of any kind and only 5 duds in that almost 5K rounds. Love it, love it, LOVE IT!
Excellent demo. Well presented. I have been wanting to get a hammerless for quite a while. Ive been carrying for a decade and the longer I do, the more I see how a revolver, such as the Ruger LCR, along with this grip setup, is more logical and practical when I compare/contrast the likelihood of engagement vs resistance in carrying due to size/comfort/carry options. While I use semi-auto's professionally, I lean more towards a revolver for personal EDC. Plus...357 magnum. - And btw, hoodie design is fantastic. Great ingenuity.
Ryan Hamre seems very open to customer feedback and, if warranted, is willing to make improvements. Not to mention that the grips are also lightweight and affordable. I've been meaning to pick up a set for my S&W 317. So, thanks for giving me the kick in the pants to get that done!
Love my j frame, they have similar options for j frame. I still go with the standard stocks and just wear the philster enigma express. I almost never have an actual belt on so I need the chassi (pockets full of stuff 😂) all that said these look nice. Hamre forge makes good stuff by most reports
Love the concept of a combo grip and the ability to carry without a holster. Sometimes the holster is the most bulky uncomfortable piece of concealed carry system.
I haven't been convinced about these until I saw YOUR endorsement. So, I just ordered a set. You're welcome, Ryan 😊 BTW, Ryan, you know me as Kit Gunn 😉
My 22 revolver is for exactly this reason. Gotta run out and grab the mail, forgot something on the grocery run, whatever little errands pop up this gun is so easy to carry I genuinely feel bad not carrying it.
@@willbibbee338 I carry mine EVERY DAY. Not just a mail box gun, dog walk gun, etc. That's been said before. Makes no sense saying that. You either are carrying, or your not. I never feel out gunned, or under gunned with my LCR 22LR. I also hit where I'm aiming. Lot's of practice.
@@Joeak74 You’re misunderstanding me. This is the minimum I carry. For that exact reason. I want to be intellectually honest with my self and carry all the time. So for example, when I’m not feeling like putting on the whole 43x aiwb setup to carry 15 rds of 9mm I just stuff this revolver in a waistband/pocket/etc.
I like the original Hamre Forge LCR grips although I did my own modifications to get rid of that high horn hump (that you prefer) on the back so I can grip it high and have no hump sticking into my palm. That does look like a nice improvement on the new hook though. The old one canted the gun too much for me.
Rhett, these grips ROCK. I didn't know they released the new mono style one they were working on. Hot Damn! How many rounds do you have through that LCR now? Over 10K? I have just shy of 5K through mine. Thumbs up and shared the video!
I saw your earlier video on this grip and am intrigued. I'd love to take more than my Keltec P32 to the gym. I mostly just relax bike (15-20 miles) and a bit of lifting. Do you think this will work for my LCR 9mm hooked to sweats?
I always thought about trying something like this but am unsure on the laws of carrying without a holster. The law might require a holster or they can charge you with reckless handling of a firearm.
@demonstratedconceptsllc4918 lol? Do you expect everyone who carries to be a lawyer? I said I thought about this carry method but was currently unsure so I don't carry this way. Pocket holster or belt holster works fine but blending the 2, especially with a DAO revolver would be nice. I know loaded firearms in a vehicle where I live must be in a locked container or in a holster which would disqualify this carry method for me which is why I haven't done it. I would assume the same law applies to on body carry.
@@Swishersweetcigariloone does not need to be a lawyer to read the laws. Ignorance of the law is not a defense in court. Not a huge burden- just part of being a functional citizen. I’d encourage you to look at your local statutes on the .gov site they are posted on.
@demonstratedconceptsllc4918 I understand ignorance is not a defense which is why I carry the way I know is allowed by law but until I read up on the laws concerning holsterless possession I will not be carrying in this fashion. These grips would still come in handy if I'm carrying around the house or backyard. To say someone shouldn't carry at all unless they know every law even if it doesn't apply to them is a little silly though in my opinion.
@@SwishersweetcigariloHow do you know what you’re doing is legal if you’ve not read the law? Law generally says ‘you can’t do this’ not ‘you CAN do this’. Without having read the sections of law pertaining to the activity you’re doing, you don’t know if you’re committing a crime. Good way to get pinched on some very avoidable stuff
You’ve talked about wanting a dot on one of these for awhile now, have you seen that Wright Armory has a cut for them? I don’t think they’ll do it on top of the barrel (which if I remember correctly is your preference), but they appear to be the only people doing it at all, would love to hear if you think that’s a worthwhile endeavor.
Bought their 22 Magnum Pathfinder and put the Charter Arms carry grip on it. Very concealable and shootable. The action smooths out wonderfully after about 150 rounds. Got the Barsony pocket holster for it, which has a flattened ramp on the side for a snag-free draw. IWB holsters are indeed a challenge to find, though. Regardless of 22lr or Mag, run Federal Punch if you get one. Absolute money ammo.
@philiphusoveck1094 Ours has been money. Honestly, for an 8-shot, 22 Magnum revolver the choices (particularly the affordable ones) are slim. The Pathfinder Series and Taurus 940 Series, and Taurus isn't exactly churning them out. YMMV...🤷♂️

Still my absolutely favorite edc option. NOTHING is as comfortable as the lcr .22 appendix for me. Thanks again for showing me this guns years ago!

Loved the V.1s for my LCR. Got them for my Jframe. Best overall grips for the snubbies in the market. Bar none.
You got me turned onto these watching your videos (well done videos). Thanks and keep safe.

Updated Barami Hip Grip from the '70s.
Great ideas come back.
Barami hasn't made these since the 70's, these are in production now.
Availability matters.
Great video. Great information. Thank you.
I’ll be ordering one of these! Seems very functional
Peak no excuses carry

Got them a couple weeks ago for lcr 22, fit great and best carry option (for heavy trigger).
Ay the barami hip grip is back

Hard to beat a gun that has a holster attached to it. I love my j frames and I use this grip on my 43c.

Lfgggg been ready for this review
"Is that a gun or are you just happy to see me?"
Still holding out for an adapter for the Leupold Deltapoint Micro Red Dot.
Will these fit in an enigma? I’d love the option to carry both ways but don’t want to have to remove the grips every time
How does it compare dimensionally to the Rogers stocks? Also, does the grip interfere with the Enigma holster?
Pls pls pls ask them to make this for us south paws!
Is that a jar of mayonnaise in the background?
Are your suggestions to Hamre Forge customized only for you or is it so they can sell more with your input?
The grip I’m showing is the one they sell

Tie and manage the drawstring and you should be gtg

Charter Arms Pathfinder. 22lr snub is usually $200 less than a new LCR .22lr. Charter seems quality enough. Why should I not go for it?
Rough action
Exposed hammer
Lack of quality holsters
Would be my top 3 reasons
Yeah exposed hammers gets you shit in the balls. Seen it, never wanna do that.
