Thanks for posting this concise presentation; 'Greatly Appreciate' you doing so😊 Our 25yr. old Kenmore was still functioning well, but enclosure was 'rusting out'. Hope we are as fortunate with getting many trouble-free years of service from our new GE GTW465🤞
Got this washer a week ago. Noise level is fine, my old Kenmore was loud compared to this GE. Time length on washing cycle depends on what you set it on. Ran max water Hot towel setting with deep rinse (fabric softener setting) and took 1hour to wash. Ran max water hot setting with heavy cycle and extra spin, took 1 hour and 10 minutes. Ran high water cold normal cycle alone and it took 45 minutes. Over all I am satisfied with this washer, hopefully nothing changes. I did get mine from Home Depot with extended warranty, just in case.
I don't care if the noise equals the deck of an aircraft carrier. After several years of having several different machines that were beautiful and jam packed with bells and whistles, I was ready to crawl over hot coals if it would appease the washing powers. The discussions by washing researchers were sometimes unbelievably condescending and/rude. They talked about how rigidly the new machines were tested and the new machines, with their low water usage, high efficiency detergents got clothes cleaner than before. As for people complaining about clothesnot even being completely wet at the end of the cycle, clothes not rinsing and having soap visibly stuck to clothes was always consumer fault. But now I have this machine. It has a working, not fake agitator, enough water to completely submerge clothes and I can soak, agitate, soak, agitate to my hearts content! GE, I would give you my first born as tribute but you'd just give her back so I'll just say thank you for hearing our anguished cries.
@@jakoe5091 why remove the lid lock? Just lift the lid. It only locks for a minute at the start when it balançes. As soon as fill begins, the lid is unlocked until spin cycle. I have watched it work. It actually gets clothes clean. I only use the manual set cycles, left side of control, because I then get full control of the washer. Nothing pre detemined. I went through such washer garbage, almost waterless, soapless washers that I've thought about buying another and just storing it til this one wears out. All this "stripping" people are doing should show how bad washers are. Stripping laundry wasn't necessary until the new type washers came out.
@@jakoe5091 That's your complaint? Almost, if not all other new washers lock the minute you start them and STAY locked the entire time. This one is unlocked as soon as the fill starts and stays unlocked until the spin cycle starts. But the lock for the spin is just over the top, to long. I'm guessing you are a nit picker. So good luck in your quest for perfection and good by.

Best tutorial on this washer I've been able to find! THANK YOU!!🤩 We've always purchased Kenmore in the past but all the sears closed in our area so I had to to Google other USA made products and GE's reviews were right up there with Maytag etc. Our old Kenmore elite was the impeller type and I could fit our king comforter in it no prob ... I'm kicking my own butt for not getting the GE model with the removable agitator.😬
I just purchased this machine and running 1st load as I write this. Thanks for a simple review of the the controls. Every video had longwinded complaints on how the machine makes noise. Seems to run fine. My 20 year old Maytag finally broke. I did try to repair but the upper transmission bearing was bad. To much to fix. Got mine at PC Richard for $540.
We just got this machine last Friday and it is noisy during the wash cycle, no doubt about it. Kinda disappointed. Do you still have yours? How do you like it after living with it for a couple of months?

I just got this washer and I am missing my old hydrowave already. That machine needed a valve replacement and started making a clicking noise but wouldn't spin the drum -unless you waited a while, moved the tub, prayed to the laundry gods with a chicken bone, etc. Figured the repair cost might be close to a new washer anyways so I jumped and got this. I get same model of washer machine and I have a lot of problems with it and I have to fixed 5 times on two years ,and it have a new issue again. This washer machine are alot of problems and headaches. NOT GOOD
This machine sucks! Make sure to get it for your ex-wife or ex-girlfriend.My other machine gave me 20 years of kickass cleaning... This one got me 6 months no problems... Now its fucked... If only i could slap the creator of this shit box!
Bought yesterday, returning! Worst machine ever. Pros: ease of disabling the lid lock. Cons: everything else. There is no brake in the machine...wait 5 minutes after pressing pause for the machine to sloooowly stop spinning before it unlocks. Washed and dried one poly/cotton king sized flat sheet 3 times! Once at medium water level, it still is full of hair and looks dirty. You cannot use this washer in the house because of the whirring sound! Does NOT filter the pet hair, lint, or anything, so you CANNOT hang on the line! The dials may as well be push buttons. It is very, very difficlut top understand what the washer is doing. Precise-fill will damage your clothes. This is really, really, a badly designed washer!
Did you ever figure this out. I have a month old washer and I am not happy with it at this time. It does not spin well enough, and I have not figured out how to do a second spin on it.
For mine I tried everything and it wasn't working and then I lifted the drain hose at the back and BOOM worked like a charm and filled ALL the way up, with the Deep Fill setting of course. Turns out it was siphoning water cause the drain hose was too low and water was draining as it would fill 😢
Piece of crap. Does not clean clothes. Does not get pet hair off and rinsed away. I have to lint roll everything and still pet hair!!! My old school Whirlpool worked great, I’m kicking myself for getting rid of it for this POS! Now researching Speed Queen to place after only a year! SO ANGRY!!!!!
Yea, the deep fill feature would be nice if it actually worked and pumped water in the bowl. This thing is absolute garbage. It gets absolutely nothing clean. It is by far the worst Washer we have ever owned. I want my money back so I can purchase another machine that actually works. I don't know if that can even happen at this point. Pure garbage. Green junk!

Never buy and agitator that is two pices like that...GE has been using that agitator for like 20 years and it will tie your clothes around rhe agitator to the point of having to cut a few out, it will rip your clothes...I hate that agitator so much i can't even express it in words...it doesn't matter if you tie your strings in bows or knots to prevent getting caught and tied around the agitator they will and your clothes will be so tied together you will lift the entire drum up as you try to untie your clothes....I'm looking for a new washer now bc the hated GE separated agitator washing machine finally died PRAISE GOD! BUT NOW lots of then have this stupid agitator and you can't exchange it for the agitator in the next model down...DON'T get a machine with this type of agitator you will end up in front of your machine crying trying to get your stretched out, ripped, ruined clothes out of the machine.
My machine is new. But recently I have noticed when it's loaded and soaking the clothing for 1 hr or whatever, it stays on soaking for hours...why is that? I wished you had gone more in depth eg... If the sensor is off how soon the load will wash etc...what to do and not do?
I have this washer, I was taking off the lid lock sensor , dropped it , so how do I take off the cover that covers the tub, I need to get the part so I could order one
I like that I can choose the soak. I don't use pre soak. I just let it fill, agitate a little to get soap in good then hit pause. It will remain in pause for up to 24 hrs. If the lid isn't lifted within 24 hrs it will automatically drain. Since nobody does that, I will let it agitate for 5 ish minutes then push pause. Our clothes get really dirty so this is best for us. I pretty much leave it on deep fill for rinse even though I don't use fabric softener. I fill the dispenser on top of the agitator with vinegar instead.
@@Thesabrinagarcia please let me know how it goes. I've some comments in different places, they were very unhappy. I've had no problems with mine. I don't use the 'fancy' settings, kinda like 'semi active wear with long sleeves' 😉. I'm to controlling and I know how dirty my clothes are and the products that get them clean. I use blueing, love it but with the HE washers I couldn't use it. My families clothes get dirty in layers, most people's do and sometimes soaking is the only way to get them clean. I'll pause the washer. Later when I am in the laundry room, I'll start it and let it agitate for the 5 minutes or so I'm in there. I pause it on my way out. Because I can look at the water, I know if they are getting clean. Recently I started reading different posts about clothes 'stripping'. There's a lot of them. What really makes me wanna pull out my hair is the HE washers have been around long enough that young adults don't know anything else. They don't know that there was a time when it wasn't necessary to soak your clean clothes in the bathtub to get all the gunk out. Then I hear manufacturers talking about this as if it is all part of being a grown up, people have always done this. Talk about propaganda! I hoped, when people first started the stripping thing, that when they saw just how bad the HE washers are that there would be some blow back to the manufacturers. I have sung the praises of this washer hoping people would maybe demand better washers and manufacturers would go back. The washer I sent back, before I found this one, had an agitator. I thought yippy. When my clothes were semi wet and still dirty, I looked closer. Turned out the agitator was a prop! It didn't even move. It was a center post piece shaped like an agitator but underneath, not actually connected to the prop agitator, was an impeller. That thing that just barely does about a half a swish. It was a fake and I fell for it. I couldn't believe a manufacturer would go to all the trouble to make a fake piece to fool all those ignorant people who refuse to believe they only need an occasional half hearted swish to get their clothes clean. Well, half hearted swish and a big bathtub. Please let me know. If you hate it, please let me know.

I wondered that too. Diagnostics?
Yeah. What is that for back there haha
How do you turn it off if it starts and you want to stop it
Just push pause
Press the start/power button for 3 seconds. Did you read the instructions?
I had the same question. Yes, I did read the instructions. They are very brief and just bare basics.
Should I buy this one take a chance, I’ll be going to Lowe’s to look at it?
Dont
@larryaubrey8270 it's a great machine is you dont mind looking at UA-cam to fix all the problems that come up to keep it running.😅
I'm washing my first load and the agitator is extremely slow.
Is this a product review?
It's just me telling about the specs of the product.
Is the medium water level more water than precise fill?
I get same model of washer machine and I have a lot of problems with it and I have to fixed 5 times on two years ,and it have a new issue again. This washer machine are alot of problems and headaches. NOT GOOD
I have this machine all settings wash an spin the same except speed an delicate it sucks… should even have different washing cycle options
You be sorry buying GE washer machine. 😢. No good. I have one GE washing machine It is a big Problem
I cannot figure out how to take OFF the top. I need to install balance kit.
Excellent review..I’m going to make the leap!
I bet you will regret it
This machine sucks! Make sure to get it for your ex-wife or ex-girlfriend.My other machine gave me 20 years of kickass cleaning... This one got me 6 months no problems... Now its fucked... If only i could slap the creator of this shit box!
Not one mention of where to put the soap????
Here's a mention. In the tub.
@@JDWhittylmaooo
Can you put this machine (top loader) up on a raiser/pedestal? I recently had a flood.
Third party laundry risers are available throughout Amazon.
Constant beeping all during night when machine not on...
This is really, really, a badly designed washer!
i hate my washer too.
How do you just spin an article of clothing without washing ?
Did you ever figure this out. I have a month old washer and I am not happy with it at this time. It does not spin well enough, and I have not figured out how to do a second spin on it.
@@cecegarza7604 You can't.
Use the drain and spin cycle and if you want to do a rinse, choose the deep rinse option.
Rinse & spin only
i put a blanket and is not washing, any tips?
That's how it works...no water used and efficient!
@@jakoe5091 lol
How do I get mine to fill with water. I've tried everything and I'm so frustrated
You can't.
You have to put it on bulky items
I forgot to add my cloths dont get rinsed.
Had to tun 2 cycles. So much for saving water😡😠😡
Green junk!
Where is the filter to clean it
It doesn't have one. From GE website.... TOP LOAD WASHER FILTERING SYSTEMS
2001 AND NEWER
The Fine Mesh filters were removed from under the agitator when it was found that a better pump and larger holes in the hub under the agitator did a better job of removing lint and preventing clogs in the drain system. The drain system allows water to flow through the basket and out the bottom of the tub pulling lint, hair and small particles with the water. There is no maintenance required on this system, so there is not a way to access the pump for cleaning or maintenance.
@@diannawilliams6494 nice. Yeah I let it run with just hot water once a month
I’m sorry, idk why y’all having issues with this machine. I have it and it washes well, it’s quiet and does not take forever. It’s reasonably priced, too.
Does it have a filter for lent???? Where’s the filtet

Stay away, noisy sob 😭
You never said where you put in the soap?????
Inside of the agitator
Just put it in the washer. I prefer to fill it as much as I want, then put the soap in. I use plain old powdered tide.
@@zhanaramomun6859 fabric softener goes inside the agitator, not soap.
@@zhanaramomun6859 no that's for fabric softener
The soap goes in the water while washer is filing up
My machine is new.
@@AVToth You're my kind of laundry person 👍🏾👍🏾 I'm getting this model this week...hoping I will pleased with it...
@@Thesabrinagarcia Have you received your washer?? How do you like it?? I just received mine today n it’s very noisy, I thought it was broken, until I came on here n found out it’s Normal
GE is bad News.☹️
Worst washing machine!!! Does not fill with enough water
Raise the level of your drain hose
The agitator on this machine works like crap. All the cloth stay exactly in the same place where you put them in. Nothing ever moves top to bottom like this guy says. It takes forever to wash a load. I would never buy this machine again. You will be sorry if you do. I expected more from GE.
junk! just got one it sucks so bad! loud as hell and takes for ever
It stinks..agitates clothse so delicately..dont buy if your work in dirt or have pets...might be ok for those who dont get really dirty...
I purchased this washer dryer set pissed off. This is absolutely the WORST washer dryer ever. I can honestly say if I could I would blow them up. Cloths do not get clean even after 2 complete washes. Machine doesnt spin clothes dry. I have to put them in the dryer wet and takes 70 minutes to dry
I feel like I am putting on dirtu cloths and they stink. Had GE service out twice what a fkn joke. Of course they said nothing wrong with them. These are a total piece of shit. DON'T I REPEAT DONT buy these garbage. I wish I had my Kenmore back.
The deep fill is a total joke.
😂 talked for almost 8 minutes and didn’t say anything important or useful 😂
i dnt even know how to turn the fucking thing on and i cant find anything on it
