    I've been doing all of the things you listed for 4 years now. I started at 36 and now I'm 40.
    - Started with adapalene, now I'm on Tretinoin
    - Daily moisturizers with SPF
    - About a year ago I incorporated vit C, peptides and niacinamide
    - Micro needling at home once or twice a year at 1.5mm
    People around me keep complementing me and I think my skin looks better than in my late 20s!
    I have to add, regular exercise - cardio and weight training does as much for your skin as actives. It increases your hgh, hormones, brings moisture to surface when sweating, improves blood flow in skin...

      I’ve been using Retin-A cream since I was in my 20s. I was introduced to it by an Asian dermatologist to treat acne. Then I went to another dermatologist with another network and was prescribed Retin-A gel. It made my skin irritated. So, I went back to the cream. I’m 59, not a real sun worshiper, but I love outdoor activities like swimming and hiking. Back then, the only available sunscreen protection was oil based and my face broke out. I have freckles since childhood, and now some dark spots. But since the age of oil-free sunscreen products, I‘ve been a proponent of using zinc oxide and titanium dioxide sunscreen as primer or stand-alone makeup. I get often mistaken for half my age by my co-workers, until I tell them that I have boys in their 30s and married 😂

      Why are you judging your daughter Over her skin? That's like a very abusive. Parent always judging and knit picking at their daughter's weight....... Giving subtle hints And derogatory Remarks.... I went no contact years ago for my mom. Because she would focus on my skin in my weight and always have these sly little remarks...... Now I'm the healthiest, My fit in my skin is beautiful. So if you don't want the same fate, I suggest you keep your judgmental comments to yourself and let your grown woman live her life...

None of the laser treatments (Fraxel, even Co2 ablative) really made a dent. Fortunately, good skin care has helped and now I never leave the house without wearing an SPF of 50. I have horrid sagging but 0 wrinkles. Ive found that massaging magnesium oil (mix with glycerine first) gives a wonderful lift as good as surgery because it relaxes the muscles (paradoxically iy seems to be the tension that causes the sagging) but you have to massage the muscles exactly correctly and its taken me about 6 years to finally figure it out! Its tricky to explain too, otherwise Id explain it here. However, there are videos on something called a Tanaka massage which I think does the same thing

      What oil is that? What is the concentrarion of msgnesium or brand?

    • @superfreakmusic7681
      @superfreakmusic7681 9 місяців тому +11

      @@stefanisilva2493 Its called Better You -but actually whatI do is buy the flakes and melt 1 cup of flakes with 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon of water and then let it cool and scrape it out so its more of a snow like texture rather than flakes. This allows it to be dissolved in cold water and glycerine because I need a very strong concentration I cant just dissolve in warm water the usual way as that would be too weak. So I basically then mix 3 tablespoons of this powder with 1 tablespoon of glycerine and I think half a teaspoon of water and mix thoroughly until dissolved (sometimes you will need to mix it several times as it can have sharp crystals in it but if you 'squash' the powder with the back of a spoon to smooth it (kind of like when you mix cookie dough) out I find this minimises this problem.) The glycerine allows it to glide over the skin nicely because if you just use the usual spray its too watery and abrasive and will burn your skin. You could massage it round your face for 2 mins ( every day) and keep adding more product so it never feels too 'dry.' However, because you really need to massage the muscles in a very specific way which is very difficult to describe, Im not sure how much of a difference this would make. However, it would certainly be good for your skin-both the glycerine and magnesium. Very cheap and easy to make and probably just as effective as a commercial moisturiser

Atleast it is easy to get and not expensive. I'll eat between a cup to two cups a day.I also use it as a mask and once a month a small packet in the bath. You might laugh but our skin is our largest organ and absorbs more than most people think of. Plain gelatin works also but for some reason costs 3 times as much. I will be 70 soon. My daughter wants me to start looking old so the men her age will stop flirting and asking me out. 😅 Oh, another bonus..your hair and finger nails are strong,shine,grow faster. There ya have it. ❤

    As well, one thing I add to my face and neck routine is to apply sunscreen/cream to the top of my hands. Hands show age quickly.
    Plus, if I have a cream I don’t like on my face (I’m not allergic to it-I just don’t care for it on my face), then I use it on the tops of my hands-and/or my neck. It really helps with age spots.

    A lot of people don’t woman or get surgery for the following reasons:
    -Too much downtime
    - Too expensive
    - if you don’t like it, it’s permanent
    - The change in your face is very noticeable
    - it will be obvious to everyone people that you have had something done.
    - Surgeons say you can have a subtle difference BUT it still costs a LOT for a subtle difference so why not try cheaper procedures and have a subtle difference
    - Of course he is trying to promote surgery, he said previously he does 20 surgeries a month, if they cost approx 10k per surgery, that means he makes 200000k per month. He’s greedy.
    - I’m sure this post will be deleted soon
    .

      @@J.E.C. the majority of his advice is geared towards advising people to have surgery though, he knocks most non surgical treatments on the head except for the odd few in the hope that it won’t be completely obvious that he is touting for business

    What do you think about using tretinoin vs retinol/retinaldehyde for mature skin? Is there a significant difference? I am unable to get past shedding/dryness with tretinoin.

    • @martinaguirre1923
      @martinaguirre1923 10 місяців тому +9

      use it every other day, and LOTS of moistureizer!! You dont have to use tretinoin every day to get the anti aging results... Once your skin got used to it (several months), you can use it with less frequency😉 Dont forget about sunscreen, and use anti uv window film on every window you have in your house/car 😇

    In one video you said not to use lasers or energy devices - you said they don’t work. Now in this video you advocate using a laser, micro-needling, etc. I’m confused.

    What is not mentioned concerning use of a YAG laser are the horrific complications associated with it's use. The side effects are common, these being dermal thickening, demarcation lines and lines (stripes across the face) that come and go with temperature changes. I know of this as a relative suffered these and was told by the 'Laser expert ' that her complications are common. He stated that he didn't know what to do about them, and didn't have a magic wand to wave over her. The only person to help her was a laser expert in Belgium who told her that due to these very common problems, he does not use lasers for resurfacing, in stead he uses the Tel aviv face mask which is an advanced chemical peel for resurfacing the skin. Before any cosmetic treatment, please reseach the pros and cons of the treatment and the person who is going to carry out the procedure. ❤

    This is really useful, thanks doctor. What do you advise when using these active ingredients on sensitive / irritable / eczema prone skin? My experience has been that it’s difficult to regularly use retinol or certain other active ingredients as my skin may already be irritated and therefore these ingredients will make things worse, or alternatively regular use of these ingredients may cause a reaction.
