OMD are one of the OG's of synthpop/new wave bands in the 80's. Love them. Have every one of their albums. Deep rabbit hole to go down! Saw them in concert a few years ago in Minneapolis
Still has fresh as when I heard it for the 1st time. This song is like a wild sound mirage, it's almost too surreal to be true. The new wave synth, the powerful high vocals, and then the sax parts that nobody would see coming, I mean come on! Words just can fail you! Thanks for picking this song. You are so awesome.
its been so many years and still this song thrills me -😍🤩 the video is bit similar to the Tears 4 fears - Everybody wants 2 rule the world - driving video...
Apparently the one who died was Andy (the lead singer). Paul (the driver during the whole video) was just passing by and saw the accident. At the end you can see Paul getting out of his car to see what happened.
I wish Tim Burton got you to play Lydia Dietz daughter instead of Jenna Ortega in the new Beetlejuice sequal. I love Jenna Ortega but you would be waaaaaaaaay MORE believable as the daughter of Lydia.
Awe thanks man!! This is the coolest comment :) Beetlejuice is my jam!! Heck it wouldve been cool to get a song in the movie!! Career goals for sure, gunna score films and be the latina Danny Elfman :) ha!
Kept trying to figure the story myself for years. Hell, I know a few people who wrote short stories based on this video. But I think the band intentionally left this video open to interpretation by their viewers. Personally, I think the lady is supposed to be Death.
I never listened to ANYTHING by them, except for the song from "Sixteen Candles," IF YOU LEAVE, I know all the girls in my 8th grade class loved OMD. I wasn't a fan. 😂
If you leave was in "Pretty in Pink", not in "Sixteen Candles", but it's easy to get them mixed, since they're both classic teen movies from the 1980s penned by John Hughes and starring Molly Ringwald :)
Hola. Por tu nombre tienes ase ascendencia latina. No se si hables español pero creo que tus reacciones podrias hacerlas también en este idioma. Saludos.

After reading your post, starting to think if I might be right about the woman being Death.
HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

@Luis Díaz yeah, for me it's easy to mix up JOHN HUGHES movies from the 80's. 😆
