Thanks a lot! OMD is perhaps my favorite band of the 80's. "Maid of Orleans" and "Joan of Arc" are by far my two favorites songs by them, followed by "Souvenirs", "Messages", "Pandora's box", " For ever live and let die", and "Enola Gay",
Secret is a gem of a pop song. I’ve been listening to Crush (as well as Junk Culture) the album that this song is off of for the past few days. OMD had such knack for crafting great synth pop as well as exploring the deeper byways of both organic and electronic sounds and melding them together.
Secret and So in Love are true stylish masterpieces from the Crush album. You gotta listen to So in Love. This song is a real gem, a dreamlike atmosphere ...
I got to see the band do an in store performance at Amoeba Music. in Hollywood, was so close I could have touched them. They also did their most popular song at the time, "If You Leave".
This song was playing when I got my first kiss on my front porch back in the 80s thank you so much for playing this and reacting to it because I have not heard anybody react to this besides you you've got a fan for life.
Dude. You will not and cant possibly love this song as much as the people who lived in that era. The memories that this song gave us all those years ago. But damn u were closed. Especially on that part of cruising down the highway late in the night.. try Souvenir. Its like sitting in a moving bus, u staring out of the window in a rainy evening, with the window stained with raindrops.

@@mathieubuchholtz460 Ahhhh...so OMD only used the text line "Joan of Arc" in the lyrics of Maid of Orleans. Just heard that second song for the very first time in my life. Very interesting. I never actually started to dig deeper into all their albums. Maybe I should... Thanks! Danke! :-)
I think the bridge elevates this song because it has a Beatles type of feel to it with layered harmonies and then it comes back down into the "Secret" hook. According to Andy McCluskey, the lead singer (except on this song), the band pulled this single off the radio to make way for "If You Leave". I'm glad you are reacting to OMD because many reactors aren't doing it. OMD is one of the most underrated groups of all time. They have over 30 international hits and 4 top 40s here in the US. But, they weren't a band that relied a lot on image and some of their videos were not made with a big budget, so they were often forgotten.
You should do 'If you leave'... that and the one you did 'Forever Live and Die' are their biggest hits... otherwise, I quite like Andy's solo OMD efforts from the later days, eg. from the Sugar Tax album
J'adore "Souvenir", mais par contre je n'ai jamais compris l'engouement général pour "If you leave". Pour moi, "If you leave" représente la 2ème période du groupe, période "The Pacific Age", que je trouve assez insipide.
there is ahost of great omd songs, you barely scratched the surface, this one has Paul Humphries taking the lead as he does on another track Souvenir, majority of the songs Andy does the lead vocal.
A timeless classic of the past. I absolutely love this band so much!!
One of my favourite bands! OMD is Legend!! This Secret song is just superb!!
Very melodic and nostalgic, with killer synths, This is my favorite OMD song.

Excellent choices!
My favorite one was not released as a single : it's called "STANLOW".
One of my absolute OMD favorites. Love it.

"So In Love" is excellent, in my top 5 from the band. I like the Crush album. Not their best but a good album really.
Im so glad you played this song yes very cute song but so meaning full love it 💕
A classic from their discography 👌🏻
A forgotten gem. Why are all the tears gone?
They were a great group. I loved pretty much everything they released in the 80s.
I got to see the band do an in store performance at Amoeba Music. in Hollywood, was so close I could have touched them. They also did their most popular song at the time, "If You Leave".

This song makes me smile and cry.
The video was also top drawer. How to tell a good visual story from childhood to adulthood in just 3 minutes. Very clever
I am so glad I was born in 1989, I really love 80s songs

OMD had a great feeling for synth pop melodies in general.
You MUST react to "Maid of Orleans" from OMD! :))
Joan of Arc?
"Maid of Orleans" and "Joan of Arc" are my two favorites songs by them, followed by "Souvenirs", "Pandora's box", " For ever live and let die" and "Enola Gay",
@@mathieubuchholtz460 "Maid of Orleans" and "Joan of Arc" are my two favorites songs by them >>> Isn't that the SAME song? 🤔
@@sauermusicDE No, these are two different songs. Enjoy them! ua-cam.com/video/vmwMhjbThKg/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/yyl9enDp8Ls/v-deo.html

Love OMD. Souvenir is a better song to showcase his voice.

I saw them in March. Fantastic!!
I love "if you leave" as much as "la femme accident", his voice is just amazing in these songs !!!
from here next should be Souvenirs
"Secret" was released as a single in mid-1985. It had some airplay on radio, but it was a short-lived success, it didn't top the charts.
Goosebumps
Sailing on the seven Seas is another Good one
Trop bon !!
Pandora's Box and So in love are great too.
You should listen for this : Love and Money "halleluiah man" ; it's new wave ; it's good 😲👍🏼
Yes! Happy you liked it. One of my faves. Keep it coming. Please do Dreaming.
Yes ! I looove this song !
Temazo!!!
I loved this song the first time I heard it. This was 1987, my first crush.
Yes , yes and yes !!!!!!!!!!
OMD best synth band from the 80s incredible songs please do SOUVENIR the best of them all .
Julia's Song '84 Remix is one of their best Songs, so listen to this Song 😁
Guilty pleasure song. Excellent ❤
Que grupos dio el tecnopop inglés OMD, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, Depeche Mode y otros, Fantásticos
You should listen to a band named Anything Box. Living in oblivion was a hit song.
You should do 'If you leave'... that and the one you did 'Forever Live and Die' are their biggest hits... otherwise, I quite like Andy's solo OMD efforts from the later days, eg. from the Sugar Tax album
Great song. One that I think you would love is Situation by Yazoo, which I would love to see you react to. Another 80s classic.
Il faudrait réagir aussi sur "souvenir" et "if you leave"

Old good musical times ....
check out Electricity by OMD
❤️

On dirait une musique qui pourrait servir, ou qui a servi, de générique TV.
I loved OMD as a teen. I always thought this song was actually about bearing the weight of not finding the strengh to come out.
OMD great band but this track too Americanised .. and too cheesy.. sure Paul and Andy would approve 👎
