1/4 mile racing is so much better for the spectator. Refreshing to see the old school stuff... big cubic inch big blocks, carburetors, high compression running a full 1/4 mile
That's what the Midwest super stock outlaws we're about . some are still around Chicago wise guys were cool. A lot of these guys run procharger now Long burnouts and wheels stands on purpose for the crowd then run 790s
yes sir my dad has a big tire 68 chevy two back half car only glass on it is the 4 inch cowl hood big block turbo i'm just 17 and i love this kinda drag racing and these cars too
I like the old days when I trailered my '62 Chevy II to the track. Off loaded, check the tire pressure and got in line. No crew, just me. Make a pass, changed jets and maybe timing, get back in line and try again. Once I got it as fast as it would go, I'd load up and go home. That night, I would drive it to the street races on Van Nuys Blvd.
Another outstanding video UHBV! Thank you! Wow, Byron barely has enough shut down for the mid 7 and quicker cars doesn't it! However, when Byron was built, 150mph was fast and they had plenty of track,, it wasn't built for 200+ mph runs!! We really appreciate you having a camera at the shut down end,, that's some cool sounds as they try to slow those beasts down and make the turn into the return lane.
AS SOON AS I SEEN STEAM COMING UP FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF TRACK OVER THE HILL AND WOODS I KNEW THIS WAS MY HOME TOWN TRACK NUC PLANT AT END OF TRACK ON THE ROCK RIVER GREW UP RACING ON THIS TRACK I MMISS THEM DAY RACIN WITH RANDY FOLK AND ED SPEARS IT DONT GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT OH WOW JUST JUST SAID FOLK BRO RACING IS HERE AS I WRITE THAT SHIT NOW HOWS ABOUT MACHINE GUN KELLY AND ED SPEARS ?
They need to get rid of this 1/8 mile BS. It takes real horsepower to go the full 1/4 mile ! Not this BS short field stuff !! There's no talent in that !!
I’m new to the sport and think I prefer this era of cars and the 1/4 strip rather than the cars raced today and the 1/8 strip. Do any others share that opinion?
Nice! I was just watching a dvd of yours that I got back in 2008 that had the Snowbird Nationals, a Tulsa Pro Mod event and U.S. Nationals were Dave Hance went 1st to the 6’s in radial! Those were the days!!!
For that matter I 100% agree with Big Daddy Don Garlits that they should do away with the et also and it's only about the top speed!!! He hated it when they started that YEARS ago and I didn't like it then and nothing has changed. In my opinion only ! Each to his own of course !
ANYBODY ELSE REMINISCING THE GOOD OLE DAYS WHEN SWEDES AND FINNS CAME OVER TO (TRACK)STREET RACE HERE IN ORLANDO SPEED WORLD? I SEEM TO REGOCNIZE SOME CARS FROM THOSE DAYS?
God this reminds of the world street finals back in the 90's when hurricane Tony Christian Lamar Waldon used to run all they needed was al tucci commentating does anyone know how I could get a hold of those tapings
That VW Bug is so so stupid without bars on it. If you hook you're going straight up every time. If you spin, the wheel base is so short you'll likely roll when it catches and jerks to the right.
They say that the 1/4 mile is level, but then it has an uphill incline to help slow the cars down, and that the layout of the land and the incline at the end gives the illusion that the track goes down hill.
I'm ginnesbuch der rekorde steht das jmd mal mit nem Auto eine 90 cm hohen weely hinbekommen hat bei 17:40 hat der typ doch viel höher hinbekommen! Ufff
This really shows you how hard turbos appeared into the scene and changed so much. I didn't watch the whole thing but almost, and I didn't catch any exhausts exiting through the body panels. I see some cars today that even without turbos, the exhaust still exits the lower front fenders. Well, just watched again and I did see some exhausts were side exits here. Still very few though.
@@stevenriordan3996 , I guess today you get them much lower than we ever did, even though we had a hard time just getting a floor jack underneath sometimes. We had headers specifically designed for ground clearance too. But, I can remember lots of dents and dings on the bottom of the headers, and if we ever lifted the front wheels it nearly always meant a new set of headers. The first time I saw side exit exhaust I thought the site and sound was too weird! : ) Now it is the norm.

I miss this racing. 1/4 mile almost full steel cars. Good old school racing at its best
yes sir my dad has a big tire 68 chevy two back half car only glass on it is the 4 inch cowl hood big block turbo i'm just 17 and i love this kinda drag racing and these cars too
Yes this 1/4 mile racing is what all should be. The 1,000 foot and 1/8th mile are nothing to prove horsepower.
Yes, all these drag cars very stylish and beutiful! Not like them weird rocketmachines that dont even resemble cars

That is some pretty good racing videos. I like seeing the racing on the track where it belongs and not on the street. Nice fast cars.

Track in Pittsburgh with a longer shut off area but they now all run 1/8 mile. Fake news racing. 1/4 mile is the real deal.
Awesome video, from showing both the times to hearing the cars and the announcer! Thank you
Great to see the wheel standing orange gremlin actually racing.
Now this is Real Drag Racing at it's best, drink beer or shine, talk shit let's Race.
I like the shots of the cars crossing the finish line, with the chutes coming out! Great stuff.
Aren't ya'll glad God allows us to create our fun👍
Hey! I was actually there back in 2008 and bought a couple DVD's from you guys.
Drag racing at its' finest.
flycatchful probably bc even this channel has decided to name itself as “hillbilly...”, maybe that’s why people generalize the sport
Greetings from Spain. I love your videos and I love the💪 Muscle cars🚗
Great video , they were doing some sweet times.
Please don't ever add music to your videos like most other people do so nice to hear the cars and what the announcer saying in the background
yes sir i agree i don't like the videos with music i love the sound of horse power i'm just 17 my dad drag races a big tire 68 chevy 2

This place looks killer. Thanks
Thats a whole lot of badassery right there!

This is gold!

That orange gremlin was impressive 6 second run!
Nice! I was just watching a dvd of yours that I got back in 2008 that had the Snowbird Nationals, a Tulsa Pro Mod event and U.S. Nationals were Dave Hance went 1st to the 6’s in radial! Those were the days!!!

Love the video!!!
Looks like 1988

Lynn Livingston if the car is lowered then we don't have much choice but out the side ,turbo or not .
