Great video and very fine camera work as well! Like the view from down track looking at starting line, and one of my favorites is hearing the entire rig "sing" going through the finish line!
Nice display of vintage style dragsters, Would love to see the time/speed board at the end of the run whenever possible. Some of these cars look like they are really goin' and it would be great to see the numbers! Thank you!
@@williamcox281 I want there but I imagine it had something to do with breaking traction shifting from 3rd to 4th with his blown and injected 40 Willys. 10.10,s in 1962.
Very nice video. It would add to the experience if the camera would capture the lights on all the runs, so we could know the times and the winner. Not always possible, but it would be helpful where you can.
I get why the trax were shortened to 1000' after Scott Kalitta's fiery fatal death. That's a terrible video to watch :( The 1/4 mile track is 1320 feet and you wouldn't think that 320 feet would affect the race so much but it makes it look like some sort of warm up, doesn't it? Or a trial run. The funny cars and top fuel races go so fast you count "One Miss..." and it's over!! I'm certainly all for safety for the drivers. I was a safety guy at a university for over 20 years. i wouldn't ever want the drivers to take on any more risks than necessary. But 1/4 mile racing as I used to call it, and other people did, is kind of risky to begin with, isn't it? What if they shortened the quarter mile of 1320 feet to 1100 feet? That would slow those monster machines down just a little bit. And it would give the spectators a little pinch of extra time to get more of a look at each race. 1000' "sounds" more proper of a number I think. But that's just how the mind works. They could set the race to 1176' if they felt like it. It doesn't need to be some sort of "scientific" sounding number. How about 1134'? Now anybody reading this post thinks I'm making fun of drag racing but I AM NOT!! I'm trying to get the NHRA to consider a wee bit longer race that still keeps safety in mind!! Make a longer track. Pick a number that you like. 1139' Just give us spectators a little more. And not so much that we're worrying about the drivers being at risk of some sort of Kallita crash!! Of course I don't really know too much, as you can tell. And I thought the 1000' race was supposed to be a temporary measure to begin with, to see how well it worked.? Well it seems to have worked. I just think it might need a bit of tweaking, that's all. I'm a fan, ya know!! HAHA.
Don't call this old school!! 1/8th mile is not old school. its for boy racers and guys that are afraid of real speed. Old school were real men that raced a quarter mile!!!!
@@curtvick2892 excellent for you Curt. I'm happy to hear that some folks get to live their dreams. Unfortunately for me, I have lived my whole life of 56 years without being able to reach my dream of racing a big bucks operation. I've raced on and off on the only track near me for 30+ years. It's an 1/8 mile track and it is bracket racing. Bracket racing is the only racing I've been able to afford and compete in. My desire to race is still in my bones and there are a few of us that sorta take offense to comments like yours. I do congratulate you on your success but "little folks" like me still like to race. Please let us have our fun too without being so thoughtless with the "boys" comments. Thank you for your consideration.
Perfectly done. Such beautiful cars and sweet sounds. Almost feels like I'm there. Thank you so much.
Iam a fan of old cars love the looks of them. Thank you for the videos .
I do like the "Street Outlaws" ,but this is where its at this is the best .Gassers & Altereds I'm in love!!!!

This was fantastic! These guys put on an awesome show, that black willys pickup is insane!
Great video and very fine camera work as well! Like the view from down track looking at starting line, and one of my favorites is hearing the entire rig "sing" going through the finish line!
Thanks for the memories! I do not miss the straight axles and the fun of white knuckles thru the traps! Brahaha!
I love gassers ! Thanks for posting this.
Very good camera angles! Awesome, thank you, love all the chevy's.

loved the alters love them big V8ts
Love the ole' gassers🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 4:08, the torque that '57 Chevy has is unreal.
An engine idling at 4,000rpm should make you scared and increase your keister pucker factor
yes indeed. following from New Orleans
Nice video and Cars
Lol the yellow Henry J said he hates slicks and doesn't care if their $350 each. Tan those hides! Love it!
Nice Video, Gotta Love them "J"s
Totally Awesome
This is real drag racing at it's best, real horse power. To bad we can't see them crusing the streets at night.
Cool stuff! my dad lost his 4 speed addiction when he shifted and spun out through the traps!
How do you do that in 4th gear, doh!!!!
@@williamcox281 I want there but I imagine it had something to do with breaking traction shifting from 3rd to 4th with his blown and injected 40 Willys. 10.10,s in 1962.
I wish they would hurry up with the aftermarket 392 engine blocks already.
I remember the AA/Alters and full quarter mile runs..... 👌😈👍👌😈👍👌
Right on Man!!! In Chicago they were a full 1320' even on the street!!!
Awesome!!...Totally Awesome!!...😎
What a great way to start off your morning!
7:57 daaamn hell of a burnout
Great Video ! All About The Car's ! Not A Music Video Like Some Of Other's !
It's like a line up of Revell model kits!
Race wars in 2017 some friends and I won fastest class there.
We had a little henry j in our town had 427 rat heads! Damn it was fast !
IF IT WAS A 427 IT COULD ONLY RUN OPEN OR CLOSED CHAMBER BIG BLOCK OR "RAT'" HEADS DIPSHIT
Gassers Forever!!!
it was the best of racing
Haven't seen "PURE HELL" in a whyle.
Very nice video. It would add to the experience if the camera would capture the lights on all the runs, so we could know the times and the winner. Not always possible, but it would be helpful where you can.
Old is gold
Hmm old school gassers with 2 steps and Trans brakes? Just saying, still very cool though!
Beep, beep......beep, beep......the Rambler went beep beep....@4:18 !
This is real old school racing. Love it ,Lil t
Wow great video of great cars. sadly only about 7 people in the stands
11:54 What happened here? I've never seen the tree hang on yellow like this. Did both red light?
This rite here is GOOD SHIT ! ! !
It would be nice if they would film long enough to see who got the win light/wtf
Jesus, did a fighter jet fly over at 9:07?
Great Video ! All About The Car's ! Not A Music Video
It just ain't the same, when We raced back in the 60's it was 1320' much higher eng revs and more exciting.
Not every track was 1/4 mile there's been 1/8ths out just as long
Right On Man!!! Power Shift here we go.........
A cool thing about watching drag racing on you tube is seeing the times and speeds of the cars. An uncool thing is not seeing the times and speed.
Is this stuff 1/8 mile now?
Hey urban hillbilly
I love your videos
Yes
Love to see the old cars but where are all the old ChevyII’s?
Henry Js Rule.
Good
How come you don't show the E.T. or M.P.H. that's interesting to.
No parachutes?
Rat Poison.....one bitchin truck!
Great videos, but don't like the automatics. Real gassers have 4 speeds with a clutch.
Another great video. But........... REAL old time gassers ran three pedals, not torque converters.
No, they didn't. Many ran B&M Hydramatics. It's a farce to believe that no gassers were auto back in the day.
Wrong I know of 2 originals still owned by the builders that were never 4speeds booth ran hydromatics
I'm fairly certain Montgomery ran a clutch-flight.
Ciijen Jones pj
Check out Southeast Gassers on UA-cam. You won't be disappointed! 3 pedal madness and 10' 000 rpm small blocks to the max!
Why is a gasser standing so high in the front?
Weight transfer,
very cool.i want one..4spd tho.fuck automatic junk
Not enough video to read the time boards.
Awesome car's but not all true gassers some have auto trans
Big tires and transbrakes are "old school" huh?
you mad?
URBAN HILLBILLY VIDEOS why would I be mad? Just stating facts.
Yeet
P please

1/8 mile ruins it.
Could do without the modern cars.
Eighth mile ANYthing sucks shit.
Yes quarter mile is Where is at? This 1000' is a waste of time.
Don't call this old school!! 1/8th mile is not old school. its for boy racers and guys that are afraid of real speed. Old school were real men that raced a quarter mile!!!!
Raced!!!! Retired AA gas, pro stock, top fuel bike both IHRA and NHRA. 35 years in the business. Know what I’m talking about.
