- We are back with the 83 Ford Fairmont Futura twin turbo big block Chevy 454 project. In this video we are going to be doing all of the electrical wiring in the car from front to back. We have to get all the factory functions working like lights, wipers, blinkers etc...As well as the Holley Terminator X Max ECU, MSD 6EFI ignition box, MSD solid state relay, Holley twin 450lph fuel pump module, electric fan, and aftermarket fuse boxes for constant power and switched. Hopefully we will be able to get this thing ready to start up soon. Me and Ralphie can not wait! Hope you like the video.

The best part of the Sleeperdude videos is watching the kids grow up.
Thank you
I was in electronics for a little over forty years and at a large company and I get heart attacks when I see something like that
The two-legged or the four-legged they're both kids
@@gene5904 All the above
Wow what is fuse panel you drive that or fly it
I do automotive wiring almost every day and I love it. Just a suggestion, you might want to put that mega fuse at the battery. That way if it grounds anywhere it will pop the fuse at the battery and cut all power off
Awesome
Yeah, you need to have a fusible link somewhere in the wiring. Better that burns and the car goes dead than a wire heats up red hot and burns your car to the ground. And remember GROUNDS - lots of them..
Are you going to make more vw bug videos
I've been an electronics technician for over 50 years. I learned back in the early 70's that all electronics run on smoke. Be careful not to let the smoke out or it'll stop working.
As always, thank you for all the work you do providing such awesome content! The kids were awesome and even squeezy stayed till the end! Love you guys! Keep up the great work!
Very true. Thank you
Sounds like a new shirt!! “Let out the smoke”
watching this video........made .... 11 months ago . amazing to see how the children have grown . Love you all
I'm with you on the wiring :) I was a telecom engineer for years and got used to trying to sort out huge wiring birds nests others didn't want to put right, and even now I still enjoy wiring projects and trying to make them look as neat as possible, its weirdly satisfying
you have good patience!
As a car/truck guy and a proud father I love the fact that your kids are so involved.
lol.. That's what we used to say in the computer repair world, "Don't let the smoke out!". I love your videos. Keep em coming! God bless you and the family.
Thank you
Hi from Erie Pennsylvania, I’m Stephen Erdos, I love your videos, you’s have wonderful beautiful children, and a very beautiful wife, I love how your animals interact with you all, I love rocky and you are very knowledgeable on all your work. I don’t know if any of your shirts say this , certified ripper keep up the good work, thank you.
Thank you so much!
"Pull it around to the solid-state relay..."
...a small eternity later...
"I don't know what that is."
The timing of the delivery is just gold! You guys never fail to entertain, educate and generate smiles. 👍
I love wiring. I do alot of boats for fishing at night.
Nice
Night time fishing? Nice! What do you fish?
Catfishes i supppsed?
Love you guys can't wait to hear this machine run !!!
Awesome thank you
Ralphie is definitely a daddy's boy.
Even though your videos normally have so many diverse elements happening in them, you managed to go beyond that with 'cow rescue'. 👏~applause ~ Loved every minute.👌👍
I'm at a loss for words! Josh, you just blew my mind when I was watching you program all of those electricals into that Fairmont! There is no way I would EVER have been able to have done that myself! Tosh was right when she said you are a genius!!!! That was awesome! Give Granny goat a hug from me..I love her!!!
I wanna hear that big block run good job on the wiring you go man❤
My day just got so much better. Thank you guys. I actually crunk my ole thunderbird yesterday first time in 4 years. All it wanted was some gas, a battery, and antifreeze bc water pump is leaking. Gonna wash it today. Thanks again for the motivation.
I have wrenched for 45 years and I love ❤ to do wiring I ❤ love your family thanks for letting me watch. 👍
I’m glad someone else does
Its a nice- fun- warm family feeling with ya'll! Thanks for sharing!🤗 I could see Ralphie doing stunts and shennanigan videos down the road!😁😂😎 WaWa is watching intently- learning well!!
Thank you
This is why you need 3D printer…you can make any screws, nuts, fan thingy, body panels ect. Get your honour roll children to operate your 3D printer along side whatever project your doing. Your measurements are spot on with the wall panels you put into your camper van. That’s half the process. Love you guys.
Awesome thanks
Can hardly wait to hear this one run. Been waiting for this one.
Thank you
I love UA-cam. Gets me through the toughest times. Some things help but nothing like people doing cool things.
Looking forward to hopefully seeing you guys in this car at an event someday.
Yes 👍
Thank you for adding the closed captions on the better half comments.....I've lived here in Tennessee for 33 years and I had to pause the video to see what she said 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 . I love the all the banter!
That’s funny I’m glad you liked it
This Saturday is looking up now
Awesome
I used to wire up police cars , trailers , 1/4 mile drag cars, rail buggies and loved it. I was particular how stuff was wired. Calculated wire size to the amperage of each device.
I loved doing that and miss those days
Awesome thank you
Fried my brain just watching you do the wiring. LOL. Love your videos, love watching the family participate in your projects and the animals getting into everything. Such a great family channel.
Well, all those wires and no smoke got out, I am impressed.
Thank you
That thing is getting ready to roll. Gonna be awesome. PS puddins fab shop gave you a nice mention in his newest video today between the 14 and 15 minute mark. Right after he mentions mortske. Everybody loves sleeper dude 👍👍
I heard that, that was nice of him.
We're in sync with the wiring. I have friends who call me OCD with it... I call it having pride in your work. Excellent work, bud.
I'm a wire'ologist. Rewired loads of industrial vehicles.
It's true what your papa's saying about the built in smoke
in electrical/electronic equipment. There should be a list out there somewhere dagnabbit!.
That there vehicle is gunna be a casing chomper for sure (fit an intercooler). Great show.
Very edjermacational.
Well done you lot ❤️
Thank you
Great to see you and the family!!!
Thank you!
You are a great husband and father Sleeperdude. Your videos are terrific! Blessings!
I try my best
Tosh is right you're a genius. I work in electronics and I hate wiring. That car is going to be insane. As always great job Josh.
Thank you so much!
I love wiring too. I used to do commercial control wiring for a living. But, there's nothing better than crocs and big blocks. :)
That’s awesome, all except the crocs
You are much more brave than I am. Wiring is not something I am good at. It was awesome to see your face as everything started working. I'm sure anxious to see and hear it running. I really appreciate all of the time and effort you put into making these videos.
I don't usually leave comments but i just love watching the kids working on the cars. And Momma with "sub titles" has also become a favorite. I'm also learning a few things along the way. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
You know you can get stainless steel zip ties now. That would work great in certain situations. 👍
Awesome
Don't normally like wiring videos but even this is amazing 😁👍
Thank you so much
56:39 I love Wawa's expression when you said that. It screamed "what in the world have you been smoking??" And, through that, Ralphie looks as though he is timing how long it will take Wawa to catch on that it's a joke. 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣sometimes she’s real blonde 🤣
@@Sleeperdude True but you gotta love her!!
Hot air into the Turbos...You guys are my favorite.. people on the UA-cam.
Thank you
Love the Fairmont! Well I love all of your projects but this is my favorite!!
Yay! Thank you!
😆 "Bill Nye the Science Guy!!!" 😄 🤣 Ralphie gets the impeccable timing award for sure! And the fact he knows that song, awesome! 🤘
Thank you
Great to see you working on the Futura it is a great car, really classy.
Great video 2x👍 The intro 🤣 😘👌
Thanks! 😀
Way to go guys! Love that your whole family is involved. Family-animals also. Keep up the good work!😁
Thank you
A boomerang that won't come back, Is called a Stick. Great video. Big Thumbs Up.
You got that right!
Awesome video! Love all the family being involved. I was lost after you said "turn the key"😁
That’s funny. I’m glad you liked it.
I only watch VGG and SLEEPERDUDE . THE TWO OF YOU ARE GREAT TO WATCH . LOVE WHEN YOU INCLUDE THE FAMILY .
Wow that Scooty is the ultimate rodent dog lol ! Great video!! Love the long videos . Sit down with the family and watching your video is better than any show on tv !! Thanks and god bless you all
Glad you like them!
Great video when I was a kid my dad made a boomerang he was a cabinet maker it worked it came back and hit me right in the head have a great day
That’s awesome
Josh, ya did real good on the wiring! But like you said, one wire at a time makes it easier.
I think ya almost had Wawa, with the, " little bit of smoke vs alot of smoke" Could almost see smoke from her ears for a second! 🤣
Love the videos ya'll put out!
Thank you. Yeah she definitely had to think about it
The best part of a project like that is the wiring
Awesome
Here we go yall!!!! Hope you came through the storm alright.. and ya might need Bad Daddy Brad to help tune that big block
Yep we are good thanks
I love wiring! and soldering. NASA certified!
"Once you let that magic smoke out it's done toast." - Ohm bewan Kenobi
Nice
All the kids are getting so grown up. Wawa's eyebrow lift just tickles me to pieces. You folks are truly a treasure, thank you for sharing your lives with us.
Great job. Loved the wiring panel 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
Thanks! 👍
Don't ever sell yourself short, wiring sucks, and you are a genius at it. It's not easy but you make it look that way. Good job. Hey family
All of y'all need to wear a "righty tighty, lefty loosey" t-shirt to remind Ralphie 🤣
Yes!!!
👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽🤣
Lol I was just looking at buying one and a coffe cup.
Or a “don’t dump the gas and drop the clutch” shirt. I heard that kid say it so many times to wawa and mom. Like that’s the answer to everything lol. Glad he seems to be more cautious when he drives.
You sure know what you're doing
Ralphie, a boomerang is a weapon used for hunting. If you can hit your target the boomerang won't come back, but if you miss the target, it should come back.
Man missed the live can’t wait to see and hear that engine run 🔥great videos‼️
Thank you
I've been doing wiring for a long time, there are a couple of things I do that help make a good connection. Crimped terminals are just as strong as a solder splice, if done properly both will be stronger than the wire itself. When I install shrink tubing, I use a heat gun. If the shrink tubing gets too hot it will get brittle and crack. When I crimp to large gauge cables like battery cables, I have used a hydraulic hex crimp tool like you can find at Harbor Freight. Harbor Freight has SKU's 66150 and 64044 for $70. They come with dies to do lots of different sizes of wires and lugs. With some practice and some care the crimps will be secure, safe and professional looking. All the best to you and your family, you're one of the best and most entertaining channels out there.
Thank you for the information. I am blessed
100% No one likes figuring out someone else's poor wiring - but everyone likes clean wiring that is done so it makes sense. This video will be a great reference in the future when you go to trouble shoot any issues.
Thank you ☺️
Can't wait to see this thing running and going down the track-keep up the good work!!!!!!
Me to. Thank you
I am not mechanical in any way and have no clue on electrical wiring but the way Josh explains stuff and how Tosh and the kids are so involved, keeps me watching each and every episode you put out. This is my #1 favorite UA-cam channel! ✋️🐐👏
Before i got into LS’s i used to hate electrical……now when i do wiring its actually kinda rewarding …especailly considering last millineum i wouldnt even touch a distrubutor…….those fuseblocks are a life saver and i wired my last 3 terminator x builds with them the same way you did….if only i had access to this stuff 25 years ago 🤯at todays prices😏……….with tommarows budget😮
That’s awesome
Very informative wiring video! Its a weakness, but seemed to make some sense as you explained it. Im also a big fan of the southern mama subtitles youve been including lately, thats hilarious! Thanks for always doing a great job.
Finally told that silly goat no. He would be outside if he jumped on my motor. You folks have more patience than me. Can't wait to hear it start
Thank you
I’d instal a clear acrylic plate in front of that panel to keep feet from messing up the good work you just did
I love to wire stuff, and I love to make it all tidy. Everything just talked away perfectly right on Mr. sleeper.
I'm just so pleased that your kids know all the classics, like Africa by Toto. Well done!😅
I agree about cleaning up the wire loom. I always clean up my my wires. And I enjoy doing it just like Josh does.
Right on
Nicely done! Maybe this car could do double duty as a drag car and a burn out car. Just don't hit the wall!
Dude, you are so good to watch build these cars.
Love the family participation too.
Thanks 👍
Johnny Quest? Good one! I was really little in the late '60s. That cartoon was scary, but I'd watch it anyway. I loved the snooping spider episode the best!
Of all the car channels, this is probably the most detailed electrical tutorial. Your right, don't look at it as whole. You not an octopus, so don't worry about all that spaghetti wire. Good ground, routing and crimping probably the hardest part
Thank you i appreciate it
"SumthuntolitetheMarbosin" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 A guide to English by Tosh. We southerners like to talk like we talk! 😁😁 Thanks for sharing ya'll!! I always enjoy the videos!! Congratulations on the wiring, Josh!!
Ralphie and Squeezy playing is still the greatest thing on UA-cam.
Thank you
Thank goodness for the subtitles again, don’t have to pretend we know what she’s saying!!
That’s great
Puddins name drop on you yesterday was absolutely hilarious. Says so much about who you are. Love y'all
Your wife is a smart woman, I was screaming at the screen to clean those fans and I am sure I wasn’t alone. #OCD
That’s funny
Hi josh and family in your live stream i just started to watch you said you hurt back well i been watchg some of your old videos for last 3 weeks due braking me ankle so hope it gets better
Thank you!
Wiring is probably one the most satisfying jobs. When you get it right and that thing fires up, love it.
I'm on board with loving wiring. Funniest part was when you told Ralphi that his torque converter was loose because he did not have enough rpm drop. 😅🤣😅🤣😂 cheers Stew.
I’m glad you liked it
Tash: "You're the only person in the world that likes wiring".
Nope, not just him. I turned wrenches professionally for 25 years and always enjoyed electrical troubleshooting and wiring. It just came easy to me.
I then went into IT for my day job, but have done vehicle electrical and climate control systems as a side gig for 22 years.
People look at you like you have 2 heads when you tell them you do electrical work because you actually enjoy it, LOL.
Gas tank that fits inside of the spare tire mounting area⚡🤯😎
👍👍👍👍
I've been watching your channel (s) for a better part of a year and I have to say that you and your family are, hands down, the best, most wholesome entertaining yet informative channel. Now as much as I have been wanting to get some of your merchandise, it's been a really hard year and now Christmas, so it's not in the cards for me. But don't despair, I do believe that greener pastures are just around the corner. Gotta have a Ralphie glass half full attitude, cuz the alternative is not the greener pasture. Lol This is already too long, cuz I know that if you have any chance of reading a big portion of your comments, you have to read the short ones. Josh Tosh, keep it up, you are the American dream.
Great video always enjoy the one liners in the intro. Tosh and the kids are always fun to watch. Already looking forward to the next video especially the Galaxie wagon.
Thanks for sharing and God bless.
Thank you I’m glad you like it
I love wiring too. Spent my whole life on it. (Retired electronics technician) 😉
Just love your channel! You are a talented mechanic. But the best thing about your channel is the family interactions, as well as Granny and all the animals. And Squeezy with "The Help' reference at the end, classic!!! 🥰🥰
Made my brain hurt a little watching you wire it all up. I can do wiring but it’s not my favorite. Can’t wait to see it running
Hopefully we get it running soon
Awesome Fairmont! Can't wait to see this puppy scoot down the track!
This is probably the first video where I watched the whole wiring process. Not something I enjoy personally but thanks to all the people who do.
I think of Ralphie every time I look across the street at my neighbors who has a Ranger and an Explorer that are just parked sitting out in the weather and they actually don’t look bad, body wise, she drives a Ranger so I’m assuming these don’t run, but I think of Ralphie every day I see them!!
To he honest, I didn't think this was going to be a good video (wiring), but it was great! I wish I had a sliver of your knowledge!. Can't wait for the next one.
Thank you I’m glad you liked it
You are absolutely correct about the wiring isn’t that hard if you attack them one at a time. From a former owner of a Fairmount, they are a very reliable car. Ours had an in line six, with all the smog stuff cut and crimped closed. The ignition module used to over heat and we would get stranded for at least an hour. Fixed that problem by installing a second module and would just unplug one and plug in the other. Great car.👍👍🇨🇦
Josh, you were talking about doing the wiring of that Ford Fairmount. Not many people enjoy doing that job, except it's quite necessary to finish building a car.
That’s true
Just to give you back up I actually love working keep up the great work!
Awesome! Thank you!
I like the subtitles for that East Tennessee vernacular!
I’m glad you like it
You really amaze me
I wish you lived next to me
you would be a great neighbor HA well I guess i’ll have to rely on my oldest son to do my car repairs this was a great video you’re family is so great ❤
Brian from Northeast Ohio
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you
VANNA THE HAND IS BACK, LOVE IT!
(Randy, what are you doing?) Why did you give the kids "nick" names? We love the show! Josh & Tosha I love that you are teaching the kids great work ethics. Wawa, (what is your real name?) the guys are going to love that you have all this knowledge to fix their cars!! LOL
I sure hope so
