I love seeing builds like this. It’s so much easier to relate to someone torch cutting and welding their own brackets, slapping on a set of second hand pro-comps, and only spending big money where you have to. Not to throw any shade at the guys who just make a phone call and drop 50-100k at an engine or chassis shop, because that sure would be nice. It’s just such an unrealistic options for most of us. I can’t wait to see more of this thing. It really inspires me to work on my own junk.
Was thinking the same. All those car shows on tv , crazy expensive parts. Just not realistic , not everyone has money for their cars like jay leno and Tim Allen .
I’m the wife of a car guy and never really got that into the whole process of fixing them. But I really enjoy watching you and your family! My husband and I look forward to your newest videos. Thanks so much!
Buddy I love watching how you and your family all work together you are instilling good family values in your kids and showing that there are a few real dads left in this world thank you for the great content
You are the only YT channel that I will watch over 1 hour. You excel at mixing and follow through, keeping the viewer wanting more. Glad you are slowing down on the work side. Evidently, you know what's important.
Love your family! My wife don't watch car videos, but she knows when I'm watching Sleeperdude, because she know your kids! Can't wait to see this thing rip down the track!
I was raised in a race car shop, and have worked on cars and motorcycles forever. I've never thought about the stat. you stated about 100 rounds per second at 6,000 RPM. I had to do the math to check you out haha. That is in itself unbelievable. It's the wonder they even run... Thanks for the videos!
I watch a lot of mechanics on youtube. Got a lot of interest in tinkering with engines/cars and you must be the most knowledgeable I've seen! Wish you could do half of everything you can. 🙏❤️
I love the way you treat your family. You all treat each other with so much love and fun. I truly enjoy your videos. Love the information you share as you go through your projects. Keep it safe and keep it real.
Hey guys, Terry here from Ontario Canada and this may be a bit off topic related to this video, but I noticed WaWa wearing a " I love WaWa" shirt recently and that truly strikes home with us Canadians. I'm sure you are aware of the Terry Fox run for cancer up here, and the importance of the town of WaWa . Just wanted to let you know that it warmed my heart(and i'm sure millions more of us Canadians) to see that shirt. WE ALL KNOW THAT TOWN AND THE GREAT CANADA GOOSE logo. Rest in peace Mr. Fox, and Sleeper Dude and family, wear that shirt proud and honourably. As usual, Cheers from London Ontario, CANADA.
Earlier today I was thinking about you guys. I was scrolling through UA-cam thinking "I wonder what the Sleeperdude family is doing. Sure would like an update." Then 'bam', another Sleeperdude video. Made my day. Love you all. Keep up the great work. I look forward to more.
Whatever you did to that engine looks so complicated. You really know your stuff! I'm glad that I'm a Pharmacist and not a mechanic. Hopefully Ralphie is learning a little on this complicated engine. It's so nice to see you all working together as a family. Keep up the great work! 💛
Hey, thank you to you as a Health Care Professional. The human body is complicated; a car is nothing in comparison. Buy yourself a good socket set, a drain pan, an oil filter wrench, a floor jack and at least a pair of nice jack stands. Oh, and lights. Start out by doing your own oil change. Watch a few videos of how to do it, check your oil plug gasket, look for metal glitter in the oil (bad), how to dispose of the old oil. Do NOT prefill your oil filter, because if any grit gets into the clean side of the filter somehow, it will be pumped right into your bearings. Just start it up and let it idle until the oil pressure gauge comes back up, then your car is ready to play. You can do your own car repairs, and if it's not for you, you'll be able to converse more intelligently with the tech fixing your car. You can do this.
To drill through carpet easily without yarn balling up, use a pencil type soldering iron to melt through the carpet before you drill, it gives you a 'pilot hole' through the carpet, and the 'crust ring' of melted carpet keeps your drill bit from snagging the yarn.
Great family involvement best example on UA-cam love the fox body platform especially the t bird so the super coupe would be my choice to work on next but truth is I'm all in on whatever you folks do.

Just came across this. My first hotrod was a red 76 Granada with a built 302. It was my daily driver my senior year of high school in 1980. So many great memories! Thanks!
Have you ever had issues with panic attacks? If not it sucks. Y'alls videos distract me, and make me happy, y'all are spreading joy to us gear heads thank you. And dang be safe!
Great video 👍 Love the decision to put momma incharge of engine hoist throttle control, like Ralph's reaction to the plastic hand high five etc.Squeeze in a barrel could be a t shirt, and momma says "cross thread is tight!"😄
Great video! I love seeing you working with your children in the garage, it brings back memories when I used to build mud trucks and hotrod's with my two boys and my daughter! All three of them are adults now and have children of their own and they still work on their own truck and cars! Teach the children and pour wisdom and knowledge into them now and it will be with them for the rest of their life. Get her done Sleeperdude!
This car is awesome. I love how you are building it. And, you all are working together to get it done. Thanks as always for including your wonderful animals on the video. Have a blessed week.
I'm just envious of your wife coming out to the garage at all--she is a good helper but needs to understand how that jack works. Once she knows she will be your best jack operator. Be patient with her.
You throw those shavings in a wood stove(when you have a good fire in it) and they light up like fireworks. REALLY PRETTY. It must be nice to have a kid that fits under the dash like that. VERY handy.
Josh and Tosh thanks for another entertaining hour. The kitten looks like it’s going to be just fine. As always Rocky is hilarious and I feel for you guys and the skunk. Have been there with a full size black lab we had. She must have sneezed for a good half hour. My daughter got into the bathtub with her and cleaned her up. Thanks again👍🇨🇦

Here's my question of the week. After watching this channel for a little while now, it's pretty obvious how much you like the mechanical side of all these old cars. How did you ever end up on the body shop side of them instead?? It seems kinda crazy workin' on the whiskey dents when you really like the engines the most. Brother this might be my favorite episode yet. I love racing content more than anything else and most of my channels are racing content and build series. This was very informative and you showed us alot. I hope you don't make us wait long for the next one. Poor scooter.
Racing is a technical challenge, competition is fun--but burnout shows are wasteful, polluting, hard on equipment for no purpose but self-gratification or for the low-grade joy of wastoids. Don't teach your kids to do stupid stuff please.
I wish I had a dad like this growing up mine yelled and screamed and through tools across the garage. I would have rather eat grass then hang out with my dad as a kid
At least your dad had a tool--my dad didn't know what a tool looked like nor how a motor worked. He thought poorly of a man with tools. Wouldn't you know I am a lifelong gear head and had to learn everything myself with little help. I have a son and he has no interest in anything with a motor. Life makes little sense.
Mine wasn't smart enough to fix a pvc water pipe. He thought he was smart but was dumb as a brick. His basic knowledge of cars was 0. He was also a racist, homophobic bigot .
I have suggested to you before about using a short peice of vacuum tubing to put your plgs in. One it helps you keep from crossthreadinng the plugs and let's you turn them in or out in tight places like you have on that Chevrolet engine. Use a vacuum tubing that holds the top of the plug.
Well it's dark and I'm done working on the 454 want to run but has a full problem something to do next weekend. I like everything y'all doing let's have fun a awesome family working together.

Racing is a technical challenge, competition is fun--but burnout shows are wasteful, polluting, hard on equipment for no purpose but self-gratification or for the low-grade joy of wastoids. Don't teach your kids to do stupid stuff please.
Another great post, as always, very entertaining and informative. I love your fabrication skills. What's the Kitten's name?
That one the Fairmont Futura.. I love 1/4 drag racing!
Yes it is
I wish I had a dad like this growing up mine yelled and screamed and through tools across the garage. I would have rather eat grass then hang out with my dad as a kid
I hate that man.
Yes, like the old saying goes. You can't hurt my feelings I used to hold the flashlight for my daddy. lol.
my dad was a good dad....just too busy...to spend much time...with me and my brother.. its okay...I still miss him!
Can't wait to see more content on the BB Fairmont! 👍
Thank you
I love that Fairmont. Same color as the one I had. Snapped in two 2.3. I still love yours. These cars are light as a feather
Thank you
Longer bolts??? I would have just got the grinder out and made the posts "fit" the bolts I had. 🤣🤣 great video 2x👍
Hahaha thanks
I have suggested to you before about using a short peice of vacuum tubing to put your plgs in. One it helps you keep from crossthreadinng the plugs and let's you turn them in or out in tight places like you have on that Chevrolet engine. Use a vacuum tubing that holds the top of the plug.
When you were cleaning off the shavings off the intake manifold is my biggest fear that Ralfie getting them in his foot.
Yeah his mom is on to him all the time
I'm sure his feet are like leather by now
Ralphie has built in Crocs 👍😵💫
He will get an infection or a broken toe and hopefully atleast start wearing shoes.
