Another very good instructional video that's introduced me to yet another plant I knew very little about :) . Thanks as always.
Nice one thanks 😊
Great videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. ❤ If you soak the seeds in a lot of water it can help to remove the chaff, as it floats to the top.
I found a very green, fresh plant. It's my first one, I've tried a leaf and it's delicious ❤
Great video! Are you a wild food instructor? If not you should be 👍
Thanks, I do plan to one day. I was beginning to look into it just before covid started but obviously I've put it on hold. But yes I will be at some point 😁
@@UKWILDCRAFTS Thanks for the reply, please let me know when you start
Awesome video! Thanks for the tips
😁
crikey do you ever turn gas hobs off? lol. putting me on edge!
Aaaah! Right on queue, I remembered the link in the description 🙈
The seeds are SO tiny though. Unless mine have all meen eaten while I tried to remember what that was in the bag!
(Harvested way too early probably)
free quiona! damn I wish I'd got better at spotting Fat Hen!
Many thanks, great video. For grinding the fat hen seed into flour, would you roast it first?
Is the chaff actually harmful or just not very nice?
why did not you use the sifter?
would it make sense to save any of the seeds and grow some fat hen in a garden?
I've got a few fat hen plants self-seeded in my garden. I'll let them go to seed, harvest the seeds, and next spring I'll plant the seeds in a raised bed with honesty. I foraged honesty seeds too.
If you soak the seeds to remove saponins, could you use the water for washing clothes? Could the water from boiling the seeds be poured on the compost heap once it's cooled down?
